Blech, sorry for the slow. I really do move at a snail’s pace normally. :x
Small update as I’ve been working on other non-GW2 pieces as well, hopefully the face is in the style that you like.
Sure thing – I prefer those styles myself (big Alex Garner fan, I based the BSI pictures from his fanart).
I’ll probably take what’s there for the weapons and just detail them a bit more, but I’ll keep it realistic.
Thank you for the feedback.
Those dimensions sound great, Coco, thanks.
Rough draft here - let me know if you’re okay with the pose, if you want specific weapons or need other changes.
@Cicada – Posting the information here is fine – alternately if you don’t want to do that, you can send me a private message (I think by clicking on my forum name). Let me know what works best.
@Facepunch – Thanks! I like to try including weapons so I’ll definitely work on fitting them in. I usually work at 300 ppi and start from a 2000px square canvas and crop down depending on how the pose turns out exactly. If you’d like it at some specific dimensions though, do let me know. I’ll get a rough draft to you as soon as possible!
Thank you both! And sorry ‘bout the late response, wasn’t online as much the past few days.
Ah, I was too scared to ask but I’m glad nyan did, bookmarked your site. :9 Those creature designs are fantastic.
Gorgeous work! I love the colors in the second piece and the first one – so clever.
I’m excited for the addition to our home instances, even if it’s just a small change for now. Hopefully that means player housing is coming sooner than later?
Hi guys, so I’d like to start offering commissions at the following rates – I’ve listed prices in gold (though I prefer $/USD, please PM me if interested as I will offer a discount for that option).
Note: Prices may change as the market does and you can view my TOS here.
The tl;dr version:
1. Payment is due after the work is done. I’ll show you a watermarked version, you send payment and then I’ll send the non-watermarked piece.
2. I reserve all rights to the finished work.
3. I can add an abstract/solid color background or screenshot from the game at no additional cost.
4. Multiply base cost by additional characters wanted in the picture.
5. Armor/clothing design will cost extra.
Any questions please feel free to ask! If you’d like to order, please post screenshots and a brief personality profile.

Hm, I may have to pick up that series eventually.
Looks great! I love the touch-ups on the armor.
lol hes holding a grenade and has the pin around his thumb
He sure does! I’d like to do more works with engies, I think they probably would have a lot of tricks up their sleeve.
If you’re running out of level-appropriate content in your starting zone, have you tried other races’ low level areas? The easiest way to access them is via the asura gates in Lion’s Arch.
Even if this wouldn’t be added as a free patch, I’d be more than willing to pay for the basic functionality to be added to my account since (should I even be admitting this) I spend inordinate amounts of time standing around doing not much of anything, whilst chatting with my guild and probably doodling my toons on the side.
One of my guild-mates mentioned that in GW1, there were contests for users to submit armor designs and the winner would have theirs added to the game. My Google skills are failing to confirm this, but this is something I would love at least to have an option of participating in. (I didn’t play the first game much, so if anyone knows for sure if that was a thing that would be interesting to know.)
I have some concepts/sketches floating around and while I know I’m merely an amateur and well, I don’t even know how to do 3d modeling, but I think this would be great fun and a way to collect some diverse ideas – and on a selfish note I’d be curious to see what all the great artists would contribute.
edit: kitten , how does I keywords. Now I’m seeing there was a weapon design contest in ‘07, though I don’t see an armor based one.
Very cool, I like her name!
Maybe, just include colors from her environment (whichever that ends up being) as highlights on her armor, since as you pointed out it’s not something that will exactly reflect details?
As far as suggestions, hmm, I think the aquarium in DR would be an interesting backdrop.
It looks good so far and I’m interested in seeing how it progresses.
I did an initial sketch of this on paper without references to what the actual Aetherblade armor skins look like, so it’s not meant to be a direct copy. Here’s a more final version that’s probably not going to be completed but I thought I’d share anyway (bonus: if you look really really hard, you can tell where I stopped ).
Comments, questions and/or concrit are all quite welcome.
I can understand the frustration, but this is the trade-off for not having a subscription fee, even if the microtransaction system isn’t so ‘micro’.
While it’s unfortunate that there’s no a la carte option for the current sets, we can hope that’s something that will be implemented in future.
Try to be glad that it’s all just fluff and not a pay to win model.
Paint Tool SAI. Sometimes Photoshop for touch ups. I used to use Painter (Corel) but I don’t have it anymore and don’t want to pony up for it. coughs
There are also FireAlpaca and GNU Image Manipulation Program (the acronym to which the forums will helpfully censor :| ) which are free, I would say try them all and see what feels the most natural to you.
but my hands are tied (sorry not sorry about the pun)
+2 more randoms. xposted from tomblr.
comments/crit/questions welcomed (except for any about my mesmer’s thunder thighs – that was on purpose and i like her that way thanks :9 )

all the crying and complaining..
Cant people just play something else?
Yes, but they might prefer to enjoy the game in which they have already invested a lot of their time.
I haven’t posted my complaints to the forum yet (only guild chat – to which I’m sure my guildmates have been
grateful tolerant wishing my untimely demise) but I’ll say now that I’ve sunk enough hours into GW2 which I feel was time well spent, only to have DB come up and get me a little ragequit-y. I want to keep playing and having fun, I’ve just had to look away from the parts that have annoyed me and keep them out of sight / out of mind.
(To wit – I’m so glad the moa races were removed from the meta, but in a sort of teeth-clenched way as I’d already spent 5-10g and got zero wins. I consider myself more casual of a player, so that’s a significant loss which I’d prefer to have put toward buying wings.)
The one I’d most like to see implemented from the above list is an alliance chat. Much has already been made of the detrimental effect of allowing players to be in multiple guilds, if they’re just going to be pulled in several directions at once by requirements to represent one guild x amount of the time, or contribute a certain amount of influence or resources to one over the other.
A working alliance chat then, won’t remove that difficult choice, but at least will allow players to cast a wider net when trying to find a group, instead of forcing them to resort to PUGs, which are notorious for their impatience and kicks when doing speedruns or completing any kind of content.
Thanks! That means a lot to me, I definitely strive for it.
I try to observe people and shapes and how they’re supposed to look in silhouette or in different poses, maybe that helps.
It’s gorgeous and functional, the best! Well, though I would never have the heart to use it, personally…
I think I was initially going for a ranger, but then I added some weird Norn-like face tattoos and it all devolved from there. So I’ve already proven that I have no idea what Sylvari are supposed to look like, and all.
Older GW2-related works:
C&C welcome. Thanks for checkin’ it out.
Very beautiful, professional looking cards. I’m liking the consistency and layout of them all too.
I’d be in for a set if these were to be sold.
Done on paper and slightly edited after scanning in.
Too tired to develop this further at the moment but it’s a generic magician looking set nonetheless. Still, can you go wrong with fletchettes and floaty bits?
Thank you kindly.
I have some more ideas in mind so maybe I’ll be able to post those as well.
Beautiful work, I like the clean lines very much.
They definitely are reminiscent of Mucha, or at least I am guessing that was part of the art nouveau inspiration.
ITT: Mesmer costumes/armor and/or general ideas aboot light armor looks.
While I love all the other details of the named armor, the circled part makes me tilt my head and go ‘arf?’ like a fat confused puppy, so I made my mes wear some inefficient combat heels instead.
with the sword i am trying to get, qq 141/2500 t6 mats
Plus a new picture of some kind of Acolyte’s Littlest Mermaid Raiment of Jellyfish Nebulosity (comes specially equipped with the Superior Rune of Oh God It Burns).

I get the feeling I’m feeding a troll just by replying to this thread, but I don’t agree at all with OP.
Undoubtedly there are still bugs in the game, but in my eyes they’re minor. On the other hand, I’m amazed (and delighted :P) by how fast the content patches are coming out. I took a few months off GW2 after getting one toon to 80 shortly after release, when I returned there was FotM, new zones, etc.
Now there’s Flame & Frost, the prelude had little new content (especially since I don’t touch spvp) but that’s just kicking off an event that will last over multiple months.
If getting new features and new content/quests each month isn’t enough, in addition to seasonal events, I don’t know what to tell you except maybe to look to other MMOs in which you’d be waiting for months at a time just for brief updates on “we are working on this vague thing, it’ll be exciting, we promise”, much less actual release of the content.
Wow! Those are beautiful! I especially like the colored piece. Post more when you get the chance.
Do you have a Deviant Art page?
Ty! If only I had more time – I don’t use dA as much as tumblr, I’ll put the link in my sig.
Thanks! I will certainly try.
Great job! I especially like the second one you posted there and your last one is very manga/anime style.
Love seeing this kind of stuff, post more!
I do lean toward that, not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse really.

I mostly doodle stuff and finally got up the nerve to post, I’m super amateur so concrit is always welcomed, but I may have recognized some flaws already.
Sylvari gladiator (drawn months before release just for the hell of it)
Norn caster (planned to be named Balalaika and be an ele, I guess, but I didn’t get on the server nearly quick enough)
Human engy (most recent of the bunch)
Thanks for lookin’, and all!
