Greatest release weekend ever. Got to wait for support to give a rats kitten instead of playing. Never got a reply from support either.
Anet so awesome. I’m out.
anyone got any ideas what you need to do to actually get a response from support, you know in addition to create the ticket?
are you serious? I’m still waiting for them to even bother to take a look at my ticket?
The fact that they suspend entire accounts, instead of just revoking the expansion is beyond words. Now I have been cut out from even the core game just because they did not like my method of purchase for the expansion.
We are not far from kitten way of handling things here. (yes, I am pulling the kitten card)
Anet support is also the worst I have ever been in contact with. (lol, its not like I actually even have contact with them…)
only way to get your account suspension lifted is through support sadly. If only there was something worth calling support…
Support is taking forever to answer. Account still totally locked.
Entire weekend of play time lost, and no answer from anet so far
Can’t even go for refunds since I have no 100% confirmation my key is the issue.

still does not mean they aren’t actually after us
have not even received an answer.
14 hours, no response
Because in that case I’m not buying HoT.
Hate this discrimination vs necros that has been going on for all these years.
I’ve played all the classes and just don’t feel like spending time on another class really.
I will bring this thread up within 1 month of release, see you then.
Less than 1 month from HoT release the raid will boil down to a repetitive stack and spank tactic with a 100% success rate.
Since necro is not that good at stacking bleeds as other classes, maybe make all our bleeds into torment instead and this way give us more tools to punish mobility being used against us.
It has a pretty decent scaling from healing power and the fact that it is an AoE heal makes it better for MM builds I’d say.
That is a VERY weak argument, So I HAVE to PAY 50€/$ to be on same level as others are now?
By enjoying life I mean having the tools to succeed in any game mode they feel like playing.
I feel I have to swap to an alt in more than half the content I like to do. I can do casual dungeons with necro but then I have to accept all kinds of weak builds from everyone else too and it becomes frustrating.
If I want to play WvW with necro I have to move in a group. I hate zerging content above all: In other words I cannot play necro in WvW either. My necro can manage silver wastes chest farm and even there its sub par to all the mobility classes.
PvP I’m dirt tier and first target because I just die to CC chains.
My necro is just looking pretty in kitten laaaa (LA).
I realized that I have developed I really deep hatred towards mesmers and people who play mesmer.
Robert Gee, same guy was supposedly a big part in developing both mesmer and necro changes in this patch. He gave a big kitten you to necro players while mesmers get to enjoy life.
I can’t stand watching others happily enjoy their game while I’m left dealing with same kitten for 3 years.
not buying HoT.
It should not since the wells tick is not related to how fast you cast the skill.
Why should this be acceptable? Just because I happen to like necro the most I’m excluded from a LOT of game modes.
I have tried to roll other classes but I just can’t enjoy playing with them knowing that its not the character I really want to play.
I AM NOT BUYING HOT
haha, Anet already think shroud is OP in its current form and its the main reason we cant have nice things.
Anything that we get becomes OP because our class name is necromancer apparently. When same mechanics are on any other class they are fine.
Robert gee is more concerned that mesmers are able to win necros than the necro class itself.
The way I see it is that, in order to have diversity I have to deliberately handicap myself. I can’t feel genuinely challenged while I’m aware that I’m holding myself back.
The problem is not really about a trinity, rather than the facts that full DPS is just too easy to pull off even with random teams without much coordination. The sad part is that I feel more confident in finishing a dungeon with a trained monkey wearing full zerker gear than a skilled player trying to be a healer/condition/whatever_he_wants.
Why is this? Its because of the encounter design. Enemies gladly staying in your AoE damage without the players having to actively try to make them stay there with stuns/chills/pulls/ any means of CC this game offers. Ranged mobs following you behind the corner in melee range.
All this game needs to make even a full DPS meta interesting would be to teach the AI to not fall into that stack in corner —> burst to death trap.
If the game simply starts requiring a bit more effort than corner stacking, and enemies activelyavoiding player damage I’m sure the vast majority of players start to see that chill, cripple, hammer warrior stunlocking stuff in a new light.
Was thinking about a perma shrouded reaper with: spite, death and reaper:
death for the added toughness and power while in shroud and the condi removal every 3 sec (I bet they will nerf this to resemble the guardian trait with 10 sec interval). Possibly sanctuary for a heal or corrupters fervor for more defenses.
Spite for might on autoattack seems like a winner too.
The range nerf is not helping. I really hope its a bug and not intended feature. Otherwise its 100% proof that developers hate necro players.
Condimancers want to claim it because the new burning mechanics is the primary reason we are being overshadowed by other classes condi builds. Unless they nerf burning they need to give condimancer better access to dhuumfire to be able to compete.
I agree on taking putting it back out from shroud and proc on crits. Although that wont help carrion condibuilds at all.
EDIT: actually the best idea is probably to increase the stacks from a single shot and give shroud a AoE burning on entering.
Maybe even make it 3 stacks and give it a 3 sec ICD or so. This way condinecros could just flash shroud, shoot 1 blast and return to normal condi rotation.

Dhuumfire does not even have any synergy with full condi builds. You can’t stay in shroud to stack burning because you are not applying your other condis then.
It seems you have to run a hybrid if you want to use dhuumfire, that way you are not totally wasting the power scaling part of lifeblast.
That is what I love about this new trait system, you are no longer forced to take spite and SR in power builds to get power and ferocity.
Well not every trait is gated behind health , only the ones that are about bursting people. The fact that all kinds of stuff triggers when target is below 50 just means that you have to work on your burst to get to that 50% mark and then you get a free ride more or less.
grand master has the signet trait which is pretty good in pvp, has nothing to do with %, Havent tested the shroud trigger grand master yet (forget the name). You also have a trait that deal vulnerable while in DS, not gated by any thresholds whatsoever.
well now I can pretty much forget even trying to make that trait work. Life blast has been an important tool when I need that extra range.
Not sure this has been in before, but I just noticed that my lifeblasts range shows 900 when I have dhuumfire traited. Is this a bug? It does not say anything about altering range on the traits tooltip.
I would not mind a blast finisher on axe #3, would help it serve some purpose.
So now that we have the new super awesome signet trait, people are starting to experiment with signet of vampirism as their main heal. I found it lackluster still.
The signet seems to be about the following identity:
– heal necro passively when not activated
– provide a burst heal when activated
– be a party damage support on activation (even more so with new trait)
Problem 1: The passive is not very helpful. the healing is very small, and it can only proc once per second. Additionally necromancers have no control over received heals contrary to warrior and ele signets for example.
Problem 2: The cooldown is just too long. Partly because the passive part is not helpful, I find you have to activate the signet very often. The cooldown is just too long for the amount of healing.
Problem 3: If you activate signet under pressure, chances are you are going to be hammered with lots of CC which makes it very hard for necro to actually utilize those life siphon stacks for self heal.
Possible solution
- make the passive healing proc when necro hits something (keep internal cooldown)
- compensate by reducing the burst heal so that the passive heal wins it over a time period of its cooldown.
- leave the activated life siphons as is.
- no need to touch the CD with above changes (until further testing)
This would lead to the following gameplay for necromancer:
- Don’t activate signet at all for best heal in combat situation.
- Activate signet only when you want to give your party that oomph in focus firing a target.
- this would also help fill the design of signets of making tough choices between activation or not.
is this PvE? what gear and stats are you using? sinister like OP?
Why is signet of locust not worth the mention? It’s not condi specific, and the active heal can be pretty decent with low enough CD.
I take both, foot in grave for stomps, foot in grave for stun break, foot in grave for getting those life transfer channel for 3,2k + heals in shroud.
So they nerfed bleeding, conf and torment at last second! hah, so only classes with burning are now a viable condi classes.
Shin tested some condi setups on necro and said on live stream that he understands now why necro community is not happy. He said it several times.
Karl was conveniently afk during this whole time. RIP
problem is, necro is gonna be focused down first so its unlikely you are gonna be the one doing any ressing
I approve this idea, actually I have suggested this myself for about a year ago or so. I would actually use this signet if it did not take up my precious utility slots.
I don’t like the current elites we have and never ever consider my elite part of my builds. They are just there as fillers, so a signet to revive allies would easily make that cut, a bit like warrior elite banner.
Edit: Also now that consume conditions requires me to dedicate a utility slot to babysit my heal skill, It beyond unlikely that I would ever use this signet at all.
I’m not saying siphon builds were viable to begin with but the few builds I’ve been fooling around with I always had high crit. Kinda pointless to have vamp precision without crit chance in the first place.
I know how to fix it! Necro should apply 10 stacks of vulnerability to himself everytime he chills someone!
for me the well of blood is gonna suffer from the forced ground targeting. It will add a couple crucial milliseconds to the activation, and in worse case my cursor happens to point at some out of range position preventing the cast in a critical moment.
So I watched the video and Robert said that vampiric aura is the same value as old vampiric without the 20% buff. So essentially your self heal from siphons end up being weaker than what you can have now with all siphon traits chosen.
I also have a strong feeling you are gonna get more healing from [life from death] than what you can realistically expect to siphons while in DS.
I love it!! Please punish me even more for playing this class, it feels so good to be slapped in the face.
its a 33% reduction so it actually does go down to 20s
coco nerf still ruining everything for me, If only there was a viable alternative.
Blond bond? but my necro has black hair
I can actually probably learn to live with the vulnerability (so sad that we necros just learn to live with it and accept all the kitten thrown our way) but the fact that now my heal skill effectively will keep me in combat mode is gonna have a massive impact.
