Sorry for the necro but in regards to peoples concerns about them being incorporated into the Zhiatan campaign. There is always the option to not include them still and just have them come out from behind their wall after the assault on Lions Arc, it was on their door step and the invention of airships makes their wall kinda pointless anyway.

They could simply play a role in HoT and future expansions.

New Class for Season 3

Honestly I rather see Tengu in a expansion for S3.

Living story hasn’t gotten us anywhere, and we really need something new and fresh.

Quicksand does not appear in dry areas!

Bit of a goof up, but quite common in fiction:

Source: Wikipedia

Prevalence

Quicksand may be found inland (on riverbanks, near lakes, or in marshes), or near the coast. A quicksand is often difficult to spot. When walking in the country, beware of black stretches of ground without vegetation and bright green expanses covered with moss.

So it doesn’t appear in desert areas. You need a lot of humidity for quicksand to form.

Yes let’s bring logic into a video game where magic exists.

Mechanically it was poorly done, again your pretty much dead if your not in berserk gear or find it a fair bit more difficult than it should be, at least that is my experience with my guardian.

Huh? I’ve been playing it in Soldiers Gear, and while some of the fights were challenging, I did not get the impression that I needed to be in berserker gear.

What class?

A tanky class like Guardian with almost no damage makes the fights without NPC distractions a living hell. Either that or the fact I only have one ascended piece of armor and 2 ascended trinkets.

Season 2 and Trahearne

His character sucks, and you can tell especially when the voice actor sounds bored out of his mind and feels like he is sat down holding the script in front of his face and reading it.

He isn’t very interesting and unless your Slyvari comes out of nowhere. Unlike the Destiny Edge he isn’t established in the slightest, even new players who never played GW1 are introduced to this party of heroes who once fought side by side it’s a simple concept that people understand. However, trahearne comes out of nowhere he isn’t mentioned in the slightest before you begin searching for a way to deal with Orr and his introduction is very intrusive.

From the beginning you know that the story will focus on this random Slyvari who you never knew.

Making him the Marshal was perhaps the dumbest decision made on the developers part, when you meet him he is wreck and this barely changes in fact he never changes. He is extremely unsure of himself and constantly questioning himself to the point where he keeps asking your character to do everything for him and make all the decisions (you even do speeches for him).

In short he is in the wrong place at the wrong time, he isn’t fit to be the marshal of the trinity and he shows no qualities of leadership, he isn’t confident in himself, he can’t communicate with anyone but your own character and the only reason he is comfortable with that is because you shared a dream.

Enough of your GMPC please.

actually you are recognized in the cutscene before the festival. Elen introduces the group of heroes and you as their leader. Obviously they cannot voice over everyone’s name so we have to be happy with titles. Sometimes we’re called commander in this case we’re the leader technically thats a promotion

No hero can accomplish everything on their own. Especially when we’re talking of things like Dragons and such that are seamingly unbeatable even when faced with entire armies. It makes sense to have a group. If anything I’d say the group is too small actually.

Commanders are middle men, they serve to give the orders of marshals or generals on the field of battle rather than behind the front lines.

It’s the same in the “personal” story, if you can call it that after Trahearne appears.

Dragons;
Again might I remind you in the Personal Story a Elder dragon is defeated not by you, but an airship. Isn’t that already a sign that the dragons themselves are far from unbeatable, given a single airship defeated it. Sunless is the only dragon who had the feeling that you are seriously going up against insurmountable odds and that was just because of a time limit.

Anet do a bad job at making me think dragons are the threats they are meant to be when you can quickly manufacture said airships on mass and more than likely wipe out dragons with relative ease. If GW3 ever came about I would be surprised if dragons existed at all and if they did I would certainly question it.

Story telling wise anets writer made a leap .

that was amazing good story telling.

I couldnt stop. after everybody left the room of scarlet me and taimi stayed and i watched and read her hologram

5Stars for that

Im dead sleepy but i need to know the end

Would say it’s an improvement but there is still a lot of room for improvement. With luck we’ll see something from the other races in this LS rather than just Slyvari again.

Mechanically it was poorly done, again your pretty much dead if your not in berserk gear or find it a fair bit more difficult than it should be, at least that is my experience with my guardian.

Equally the grind, GW2 is becoming more and more like WoW and other MMO’s.

We saw her rise to power and fall equally as far. But is she really dead? What about the tunnel at the bottom of LA harbor, that leads to a small boat, and a path leading out to the open area. So ask yourself, could someone as cunning and devious as Scarlet, really be gone? No fall back plan, no way out. To borrow from the HP world, a horcrux of sorts perhaps. The Scarlet we defeated could easily be a clone. We only know what we saw, and what we’ve been told.. Remember her last words “You fools you think my death saves you.. Too…Late !!!”. That phrase plays on many many levels.

It’s fun to speculate anyways.. Imagine Moredremoth rises and on his shoulder, Scarlet cackling madly.. Soooo lest we forget..

She pratically told us she was dead herself, so I would say so. She was merely refering to the drill had reached it’s target.

Rangers offer little to no group support or large AOE damage. The things they can do in those fields they are GREATLY outclassed in by other classes.

Rangers are by no means bad i’d say, But they are extremely single target DPS focused. The only time I could see one being used is as a peripheral player sniping lost necros and eles kiting the hammer train. Even then a thief outclasses them at that.

Not to mention other classes do that better.

I think rangers need a remake. They are not masters at what they should be and that is single target ranged DPS nuke. They need actual damage skills, rather than the crap they have now. Alot of the utility skills are meh.

In the gaming industry it is generally standard pratice not to mention anything about mass bans or incoming hotfixes to hacks/glitch until you have actually done it. The reason being is that if you announce it everyone stops for a week, waits abit then starts again.

It also means those making the hacks/using them start to try and find a way to change the code so they do not get detected by the system.

What name would YOU give to a GW2 expansion.

in Living World

Posted by: Cruril Darksbane.2318

Cruril Darksbane.2318

Name – GW2: Four Winds (Honestly no idea)

Feature List SP -
Cross Classing – Cross class into other roles and classes to develop your own unique gameplay style. (Upto 3 classes at any one time, each level is counted towards the cap. for example Warrior Guardian could have 40 levels each for a total level of 80).
New Race – Tengu
New Zones – 4 New starter areas for Tengu, plus Homecity + 4 Additional areas for continuation of the story in Magnuum Jungle Area.
- Tengu T1 Story + 16 New Storyline Quests
- Additional Legendaries
- New Class: Wind Walker, ranged based class that utilises elemental based bow attacks. Doesn’t have a pet.
- 6 New World Bosses (Including 1 Dragon)
- 4 New Dungeons
- 2 New Guild Missions
- Guild Houses
- Guild vs Guild: A CTF style gametype where each team are members of the same guild of up to 50 players per side. Each team must retrieve the opposing guilds flag and return it to their base 3 times for victory, this carries with it a unique reward line that all members of your guild will recieve. Each map is basically the same but uses the ‘guild’ house as the bases, which can be upgrades to have traps and other devices to hinder your oppenents progress. Each round lasts upto 30 minutes and players can freely drop in and out but must contribute significantly or remain in the game for 10 minutes for credit.

WvW Updates:
- Supply Lines no longer have set destinations, all camp yaks will attempt to travel to the closest owned tower, keep, or castle.
- Additional Upgrades to Towers, Keep, and Castle.
Towers/Keep/Castle: Scouts, hire a group of guards that patrol outside the walls or the nearby roads. Any nearby hostile forces are marked on the map while they are alive. (Guard Treeline)
- Towers/Keep/Castle: Blacksmith, hire a local blacksmith who will oversee the production of arms, and repair damaged structures within the fortification. Additionally Guards recieve a 5% Damage and Defense buff due to the armour and weapons he provides.
- Keep/Castle: Asura Gate, a direct upgrade from the Waypoint the Asura gate provides a safer means of transport and cannot be contested. However, it may only transport 5 people every 45 seconds. This cooldown is decreased by the Tower Upgrade.
Tower Only: Field Generator, provides a reduced cooldown on the Asuragate upgrade, each tower surrounding the Keep will reduce the cooldown by 5/10/15/20. In the case of SMC this applies to all towers across the map upto the 20 Limit.
Keep/Castle: Force Wall, the walls are coated in a magical energy from the nearby surroundings this manifests itself as a ‘shield’ that can be activated at any time from the Lords/Champions room. The shield blocks all incoming projectiles and blocks incoming catapult and treb fire (10, 5 respectively) with a cooldown of 5 minutes. Additionally defenders on the walls gain a defensive buff that reduces incoming ranged damage by 2%.

- Expansion on the Current WvW skillsets.
- Varible Objectives that provide benefits/buffs to attackers (to help counter act the buffs defenders recieve).

Character Development and Weapons:

- Legendary Weapons recieve a minor buff to compensate for Ascended.
- Each Legendardy Weapon is given a unique skill/ability associated with it.

- Each class will recieve 1 new trait line including 2 new GM traits obtainable in the new zones.
- More Achievements and Rewards

Generic Update (for everyone):
Options:
- UI support is updated enabling players to customise both it’s apperance and functionality. (Basically you can have it at the left side of your monitor if you wished).
- Improved Engine.
- Fixed Noclip glitch in WvW and PvE
- Updated Netcode
- AI improvements
— AI will no longer simply attack the closest target, and groups of NPC’s will focus down high value targets. Such as the highest dps.
— AI will use skills more intelligently, it will attempt to interupt when possible.
— WvW Caravan guards will switch focus from those attacking themselves to those attacking the Yak.

This skill otherwise known as “Unknown” one shots me, my guild has encountered the same thing and we all pretty much certain their is no skill in the game that does 25k damage with boons and skill buffs only adding to your already high defenses.

So, lots of good comments in here so far. Good to see that, at least with a small group, I’m not alone in my feelings. And I am aware that all major titles have forums like we do, and the same issues that we do.

I think the biggest thing I wanted to point out with this thread is that the forum wasn’t always like this. We’ve certainly had our ups and downs – lots of good feedback and fun threads, but also our share of not-so-good responses. As some have pointed out, this time around we just happen to have acquired a lot of “loud” displeased voices. Unfortunately, these seem to be overpowering not only threads with positive/critical feedback (and I’m saying critical, meaning constructive), but also a fair share of simply funny or entertaining threads. It presents an image of overwhelming negativity, and while I understand that those feelings are justified (we don’t need to get into that here – there are other threads for it), I don’t see why the forum needs to become one big downer because of it.

And like I said at the start, I’m not expecting this thread to change anything. People will still post the way they want. But who knows – one can dream, right?

Let me re-state my previous statement.

Speaking through a flower is not warrented nor desired when the person(s) I am speaking to have in the past made false claims and promises. They do not have my respect therefore, I am neither required or obligated to help them with ‘constructive’ feedback because when the person(s) refuse to deal with issues that in the past have exsisted and today still exsist.

For example, Conditions. Around 6 months ago they claimed they would fix the conditions in a upcoming patch within the next 2-3 months. It’s now been twice that length of time and conditions remain useless.

If you do not understand what I am saying then let me put it simply:

If they do not listen, what is the point in me going through the effort of giving constructive feedback, if they do not go through the effort to come here and simply state: “Hey guys thanks for the feedback, we are working on the issue now!”

All people need is confirmation, and the community will be what you want to be. A bunch of people who don’t care about the game speaking through flowers.

A: Norn
B: Trahearne doesn’t steal glory or credit, so frankly, a Norn would have no reason to kill him in the first place. By that point, even less so.
C: He never acts as if it’s ‘his story’. Pay attention in the actual missions.
D: The ritual also required the sword he used as I recall, and it was his Wyld hunt to cleanse Orr. So yes, it’s likely he knew the ritual and few others did, much less anybody ON THE SCENE.
E: Tengu have, LITERALLY even when LA was safe and sound, threatened to shoot people coming too close to the gate. That’s why they had the guards there warning people off. During the battle there is a drill nearby and the dredge rush the wall over and over, so they simply were keeping anybody from getting close to the wall and maybe using explosives.

I don’t see how the Sylvari are being shoved everywhere like you say, or how they are so “Boring and dull”. Note this past LS arc there was not one Sylvari hero named.

A: Any race same rule applies. Dismissing it on a fact of race is fairly foolish, on your part. What you are saying is that because someone was maining a norn on their first playthrough everything they automatically say should be disregarded. Also note that Norn are Nords. They’re the same bloody style of culture.
B: doesn’t he? Because last time I checked all the characters refer to him as Uniting the Trinity when in fact he did little or close to nothing to achieve such a feat.
C: Actually he pretty much states it’s his story when he brings up the topic of his Wlyd Hunt. If it’s not about him then why is he the one everyone is constantly dicussing in missions. You are his aid, he is the hero. This is a support role.
D: If I recall every guild was on the scene, rather they stayed behind to protect Trahearne while he preformed the appernt ritual. The whole Wlyd Hunt thing alone gives me huge issues, it basically determines ones fate from the midway point of the story which from a story telling perspective is a big no no.
E: Prehaps your missing my point. During the LA event they shot even the people trying to help them. It’s rather foolish of them to attack the very people helping them keep the wall safe, and the fact the drill was even their showed they was struggling.

To further expand:
In the Main Story Trahearne should simply not have exsisted or atleast be a addition to Destiny Edge. Rather than force us the player to serve under him as if he was the main character which you claim he wasn’t when infact he was.

Note how the main villian was Slyvari and someone you saw in every aspect of the LS, and the ‘heroes’ played minor roles, often just there to narrate excatly what was going on.

Also you brought up the fact he was a renowned expert in Orr eh? http://krellendotnet.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/make-the-call.jpg

So of course it’s upto me to find it for him, like everything else in Orr.

There is nothing that goes on here that doesn’t occur in kitten near every official forum of a “major” title. When you sell millions of copies, you are GOING to get wide swaths of people that are disappointed with it, and will make that displeasure known… usually very loudly.

But one thing that I WILL promise you is that 100% of the sentiment on these forums reaches developer ears. They DO know what upsets you. They DO know what annoys you. They even know your reasons for it. It’s very easy for players to equate not getting an answer with being ignored. They “ignore” you for:

1) There’s really nothing that can be said on the matter due to non-disclosure agreements. No matter how much you demand an answer, it will not and can not be given.

2) They’ve already given their answer, and the only thing they would do is repeat that answer ad nauseam. There is literally no point in saying, “No. We will not change this” and repeat it for days on end each time a new handful of players voices that same complaint.

3) The answer wouldn’t actually solve anything. As much as players think that it would help so much just to get a, “We’re still looking into [x], but we don’t have a suitable solution yet, and there’s no time frame that we have to address the issue” the simple fact is that it doesn’t help… at all. It doesn’t quell rage, it doesn’t soothe tempers, if anything it tends to make the anger worse (THEY’RE JUST THROWING OUT PR SPEAK! THEY AREN’T LISTENING! THEY DON’T CARE! RAAAAAAAGE! FUUUUUUURY!!!)

Players really don’t want dialogue… they want solutions, and they want them now, NOW, NOW!

Tengu have been requested since before GW2 was a thing. While they were in development they stopped? I am guessing because of the Slyvari replaced them which would explain their relunctance to release Tengu.

Again they have said they will make changes to conditions, yet conditions are still useless. The only use is in the wurms.

Do they listen? Sure.

Do they seem to act upon this feedback… No. Not in the slightest. In fact when they recieved huge negatitve feedback on Slyvari they closed the thread last week.

I post on a policy of stating my opinion and while that might not be posative feedback, the points I make are made because I want this game to get better but right now, it’s dying. They do not listen to us, take conditions.

Afew months ago they said they would fix conditions. They are not fixed, all they did was add a new condition, one which didn’t do anything special.

The very fact they made a april fools joke on Reddit about a expansion annoys me even more, as if they do not need an expansion. The fact is, they do and every day they refuse to announce one is 1-1000 lost players.

I’m pretty sure the Reddit thing was not an ANET-sponsored prank, or it would’ve been promoted on their website. Can anyone confirm?

Even if it is not, can you deny my point as being false?

The fact still stands this game is now in a state of steady decline, soon enough it will have less players than RS. Which is dire strait when a website based MMO is beating software MMO. We need SOMETHING, anything even the Tengu release would do it for alot of people.

Reclaiming Orr?

in Lore

Posted by: Cruril Darksbane.2318

Cruril Darksbane.2318

I’m doubtful, because if you think of it…

If we remove the risen, what story will Orr have? What enemies to merit events and map completion?

And even then, what of the newer players, who have not yet beaten the personal story? Since the story of GW2 is told in three formats (dungeon, personal story, and open world), you cannot just remove what is effectively a third of the story and expect the same flow. But at the same time, ArenaNet has said no to phasing.

So don’t expect the existing Orr zones to get cleansed. Maybe new zones will open up (there’s room for 3 zones even when taking into consideration the size/space of the Arah dungeon).

Point 1 A: Anet knows Orr is a mistake, they havn’t touched Orr since they ‘tried’ to fix it and failed.

Point 2 A: The Cleansed Orr would be a seperate map, which would proc after the cleanse quest, it’s not hard to do. MMO’s have been doing it for years.

Why all the Sylvari hate?

in Sylvari

Posted by: Cruril Darksbane.2318

Cruril Darksbane.2318

Whenever I look at this forum I see at least 3-4 threads titled “Sylvari must die” etc. WHY?? You wouldn’t see stuff like that on the other race forums and they all have their bad counter parts e.g Char~Flame Legion and Norn~Sons of Svanir. Just because the main anarchist of the game is Sylvari why should the whole race be condemned to “Evil killer plant people”? Do you think that if the main anarchist was a different race, would people hate that race instead? I just think its a shame to hate such an amazing people on the basis that one was mad……… Gimme opinions on this pelase

Honestly?

Because they are dull, uninteresting, and silly race. Whose only purpose in the game was Trahearne, who is the worst character I have ever witnessed in a storyline of a RTS/MMO. He blatantly steals the story, all to advertise how “awesome” Slyvari are when infact all he does is highlight all my gripes with Slyvari.
Let me list them;

  1. The whole concept is flawed, the fact they are called Slyvari to begin with suggests a long living elf like race that is both wise and knowledgable. Instead they are children, this left me dumbfounded and simply made me say, “So you called Dryads Slyvari, Ok… can I kill them all now?”
  1. I am of the belief and opinion that they replaced Tengu, which to me is a huge mistake. All because the head lore keeper liked the concept of them. The thing is, Tengu have been around since GW1, not only that but their history is rich and colourful. Full of culture, lore, loss, victory, and the fact GW1 had a event dedicated to Tengu made them highly popular and desired. In Slyvari what’s interesting I mean, magical trees? Pfft. Yeah no I seen this 100 times before. Wlyd Hunt interest? Again seen it before yawn countless times. Trahearne does this very well you see not only does he make you go on a magical adventure with a tree but also constantly brings up the fact his Wlyd hunt is to heal Orr and that is why he must now take your place as the main character, that and the stupid sword which in the cutscene didn’t actually do ANYTHING.
  1. What do they bring to the table, I mean honestly. What do they bring, they have no redeeming features (except the snare), their living story is utterly love story after love story (No No in a MMO) and serves no reason other than to make them seem like the child-like race they are meant to be.
  1. It makes no sense, in GW1 we had a fair few expansions and you try to lead us to believe they exsisted all that time? Yet we never encountered a single one. Yeah no, this is bad story telling 101.
  1. Trahearne
  1. Trahearne

Sorry but trahearne deserves to mentioned twice in his own sperate points dedicated to the joy of Trahearne.

I find it disturbing that people claim the Slyvari to be original despite the fact they are the least original race in the game. While Tengu are the most.

Personally I think we should all stop with the fan theorys because honestly at the moment I feel like the fans theories are way too awesome to come true. Not to be offensive to the ‘lore keeper’ but she hasn’t excatly impressed me thus far.

She loves the Slyvari for example, yet I and many of my guildies think they are the worst race in the entire game storywise. In fact the lore keeper seemed to have gone out of her way to force them down your throat with them being key in EVERY personal storyline.

When I first rolled a nord I was enjoying the story and fact it every quest seem pretty cool and unique in terms of the background and my character was the main dude! Then I get the quest to go to the tree thinking, “Huh this will just be a one time thing.” Nope lone behold the next 20 quests involve me and some kitten who becomes the centre of attention, and is apperntly my character’s ‘friend’. Frankly if I was my nord I would of killed trahearne the moment he cleansed the heart of orr and he didn’t excatly do much, “Defend me while I cast this ritual.”
“Uhm dude… if it’s a ritual why can’t the priory do it?”
“kitten This is my story!”
“… Despite the fact you make me do everything… it’s…. your story? kitten dis kitten.”

While the Tengu who have prehaps the richest history in the whole of Tyria are put on the back foot, worst still in the fight for lines arch they shoot you for coming close to the wall, when your trying to effectively stop Scarlet who is more likely than the ‘wannabe heroes’ to attack them in order to get access to the leylines?

Seriously I just can’t get my head around some of the choices they are making, it makes close to no sense in many cases.

Look frankly, theorycrafting is fun when you are really into the story but I find myself actually repulsed by the whole thing when the Personal story jams the boring Slyvari down my throat and continues to do so with the whole Scarlet business.

Seriously please do something with a diffirent race for once, I am sick of Slyvari this and Slyvari that. The next over arcing villian that isn’t a dragon better not be Slyvari or I am just giving up with trying to make sense of anything.

But again let me repeat;

We all know chances are the awesome theories that could be extremely interesting will be throw out of the window and we will get something less than desirable or shallow (I’m calling it now the next arc villian or major npc will be Slyvari).

1.) Ascended is not required and this ‘vertical progression’ is miniscule enough to be ignored without noticing any improvement
2.) You can get an ascended backpiece without any crafting (and if you use the Forge as an example of crafting, all you do is click buttons a few times and you get your backpiece)

To be competitive you need to be in the best gear possible. Equally skilled players in wvw will lose based on equipment.

Therefore you NEED ascended to be considered a competitive wvw player unless you are a insanely good commander or skilled. Even then being commander means you do not want to die so Ascended again is better than exotics.

Considering the end game is grind, pvp, or wvw…

In the controlled competitive environment of PvP, gear is normalized in order to level the field, which is as it should be in competitive PvP because that is a game. WvW is a hybrid concept that seeks to simulate a “war” and thus will never be “balanced” which means that arguments about gear imbalances are moot.

Obviously, having better gear gives you an advantage in WvW… and that is how it should be in a “war simulator” because war is never “fair”.

I agree to an extent.

War ‘unfairness’ is very often offset by diffirences in technology, culture, training, stratergy of generals/command. In this case it’s not really true because much of the above are not present in any meaningful way.

Well there is a difference in technology (Ascended vs exotic), culture (international game), training (skill gained from playing the game), and strategy of generals/command.

Out of what you listed only the strategy of generals/command doesn’t exist unless the players allow it. There is a few good general/commanders out there. I so far gotten a good track record of whenever i been in command have captured everything I have set out to capture (not saying much since that’s only been 15 times in over a year). There have been great commanders if only the followers actually listened to the command being given. As well there is not enough tools in the game to allow proper command.

Such as they should allow parties to join the commander and the commander to know the parties within his command. That way he can use the map and place locations where the parties are meant to go. I got a few ideas of what they could add to make commanding easier but thats far off topic.

No that is not a diffirence in technology. The technology of every server or world is excatly the same. No world has tanks and another has aircraft. They all have excatly the same objects/items.

Commanders honestly most do nothing but serve as a draw for everyone to move to and then zerg around. Stratergy in this game is quite honestly at a bare minimum. You can easily set out to capture everything you want if you went on at a non-peak time on a server with no coverage.

Glorious dreams

Would you want a race on your side that so casually slaughters fleeing survivors seeking refugee?

Yes.

Keep in mind in Tengu’s history humanity has caused them more harm. In fact humanity tricked many of the Tengu tribes into attending a meeting, then promptly tried to kill off all the tribe heads. In fact humans almost wiped them out, indirectly.

So when you ask that question:
Yes.

Because neither races have excatly done anything honourable.

Downed Graphic Change?

On the mini-map the icon changes from the blue arrow to a black circle with a blue skull and cross bones in it.

On-screen all you see above a dead player is the same blue revive arrow. Unless the player is self-healing to revive themselves or throwing dirt they lay there and look almost exactly like a fully dead player. It isn’t until you start reviving them or actually target them that you notice they are actually fully dead.

Yes excatly this, I was refering to onscreen graphics because let us be honest. The mini-map is rarely used to pick out revive targets, and this change is nothing major it would only take them an hour or two to change.

Isn’t one blue, and the other black? Or, is that just NPCs?

I believe the black one is NPC’s downed for a finisher animation.

Anet would it be possible to re-design the downed revival graphic.

One for downed, but not dead characters.
Another for dead characters.

This would make it so much easier to diffirentiate between who I should be reviving and who I shouldn’t. Especially with 5-10 people downed.

“It’s honestly not been interesting at all.”…to you. Maybe some people predicted what was going to happen…if so, I’m afraid I missed it, or it wasn’t what I experienced when I tried out the latest patches.

We all have our opinions; some like parts of the game, some do not. =)

While that is true the problem here is alot of the community is sick and bored of the LS, you can go to any community based on this game and make a poll, you can go to interviews…

All of them want/ask the same question:

“When will we see an expansion or meaningful content?”
Anet: “We want to focus in living story.”

Reason: They believe people will keep playing but everything is suggesting otherwise.

Outside of the top servers and events you will not hit overflow. You can run around the world at peak times and it would be empty and you would be alone unless you happen to cross a area with a world boss spawn.

Gee, I like the Living Story, and I think the content lately has been great. I wasn’t even sort of tired of Escape from LA, and here is the new one, already.

And, the portal to ‘somewhere’ sounds positively….what’s the best word to describe it?….Mmmm…intriguing!

It’s honestly not been interesting at all. People predicted what Scarlet was doing BEFORE we came anywhere near the ‘end game’ and guess what? They were right.

The game doesn’t want an expansion. It needs an expansion. No two ways about it, people are uninterested, people only come on for 20 minutes to get their loot/achievements then leave and log out because no one is interested any more. WvW is meh after awhile and PvP is much to be desired.

Ok, but we hoped that by now they would have implemented without “kinks”

Let’s wait, the Living World content will be there, don’t worry

And a new interface!

I’m a bit too sarcastic, I know, but I really hoped that it would have arrived with this update.

Living World…. You mean the thing Anet thinks people like but the vast majority find extremely annoying and would prefer a straight up expansion now it’s been 2 years? Frankly we need one, to bring back players. Also people keep asking endlessly for Tengu who were lifted from the game before release.

Let's Balance NA T1-3

in WvW

Cruril Darksbane.2318

I doubt this will ever happen, and it’s sad honestly. The only way to balance it out would be to merge tier 3 servers active accounts and leave inactive ones behind. T2 is equally a mess because, Anet are unwilling to enforce rulings on backdoor agreements between world’s to gang up aginste another world.

It makes me sad to be in CD since in our up time we dominate wvw then KoME goes offline and we lose everything because coverage is so bad. Although we have fun and get awesome fights it’s still a kitten until they start merging servers.

It’s actually funny because we recently found out CD’s main competitor keeps track of our tag and there commanders statement in regards to our guild is, “Do not fight, run away.”

But anyway the only solution I see for T3 is to merge servers, T2 is again coverage problems.

Would ranger actually be decent if the pet was able to be stowed permamently and abilities and traits actually helped you instead of the stupid ai thing that follows you around?

Anet you really need to sort rangers out they are out done in every profession. The only thing they are good at is 1v1 and roaming in wvw…. Rangers traditionally are the ranged physical DPS yet in GW2 they don’t seem to be good at anything beyond what has been mentioned. Everything else well they leave much to be desired.

So do you believe Rangers would be more balanced and viable if half of their traits and abilities didn’t buff the useless pet?

Suggestion: Rarely killed mob = better loot

Cruril Darksbane.2318

To break up the zero-skill champ trains which I think are bad for gameplay, I would like to suggest that rarely killed champs and other mobs, drop better loot. I personally would love to hunt with an organized group across multiple maps with a purpose, knowing I could get better loot for having my brain turned on.

I am not trying to suggest those who enjoy the mindless queensdale and frostgorge farm are bad players, clearly you can get loot and mats —- but I think many players would enjoy he game more if we could find better rewards on champs, vets, and events that are rarely done. Similar to the exploration bonus for killing that odd moa in the zone nobody visits

Could be as much or as little as having more rare items, more mats, mini-pets, skillpoint scrolls, etc. And it could be detached from the champ loot bag, so it doesn’t alter the current drop rates.

Nope. Then people will rage every day when some random guy kills it for the lols.

“Scouts” you mean some poor sob sitting around watching for any possible enemy movement and occasionally refreshing siege because if someone doesn’t pay attention for 10 mins it could be gone? I find it sad that people think this is acceptable gameplay.

Scouts often don’t need to just sit in a keep and refresh. Scouts run around the borders of your land killing solos or causing havoc to enemy supply trains. What you want to happen in terms of refresh is to have every time someone dies they refresh siege on the way to commander tag because chances are the fight they were just killed in has already ended.

A scout doesn’t camp in the tower watching for any golems or zergs they should spot the Zerg way BEFORE it even hits a tower. A scout is effectively a roaming solo.

I feel your pain. I tend to give anet the benefit of the doubt more times than not, but the issue of population overall I do not feel has been properly addressed . It feels like the lower population servers are just left hung out to dry. Instead, it seems like anet keeps trying to introduce new mechanics that will change the game dynamic so that the population imbalance will be less of a deciding factor, but it just falls flat At the end of the day, WvW is still a numbers game.

I came from ET, which back in the day was a WvW powerhouse, but then fell apart and spiraled down to the very bottom of T8. And while I LOVED the community so much, and I still miss it, WvW at the time was a ghost town, and ultimately I left because that wasn’t the game I wanted to play.

I absolutly agree, the “population” rankings should be re-adressed as one way to help smaller servers out.

Wait they are? As far as I am aware all they are doing is giving high population, high coverage servers more power by adding more and more snowball mechanics and snowballs do not make a game balanced. It leads to even greater anti-balance.

Yet you have people walking around as cats and this doesn’t bother you? You’re in a fantasy world where Tengu are a HUGE part of it, I mean they had a massive part to play in the GW1 story line and their fluff is well established and enjoyed by the player base.

Tengu need to be implemented. We have all the professions we need everything has been covered profession wise.

I also don’t understand your distaste for avians, considering you rarely see avian races in MMO’s at all.

I don’t think people realize just how much gear is over-scaled in WVW.

Anyway, if you’re a good player, you’ll be about on even grounds with an average to good player.

If you’re an average player, you’ll mostly be defeated one on one, particularly due to being behind on traits..

In general, however, one-on-one is a really dumb way to try and level in WVW. You won’t be doing 1v1 much if you’re using it to level anyway.

Yes gear is scaled but your still missing out on traits.

Yes you will most likely be beat by every level 80 who is in good gear and understands what they are doing.

You have a major disadvantage in that your trait lines are not as advanced as a level 80’s and your gear is weaker.
