It’s not an ability, it’s an abuse of a trait.

And by abuse I don’t mean anything negative or not allowed, just the fact the trait’s intention clearly isn’t for the player to press a kit button every 5 secs.

Also, shouldn’t that epic fight be truly epic ? With like hundreds of players all over the place ? Come on ANet, change it to something that will remain in memory for years.

When it comes to PvE, I can’t do without bombs.
I mean lets take any PvE zerg out there, the bomb kit is simply awesome. I can’t do that much widespread damage with pistols. NOT.A.CHANCE.
But OK zergs can be rare. Training mobs – bombs are great for that. In fact, I’m lvl50, so far I haven’t encountered a mob pack I couldn’t take on by training them and blowing them up one by one (or as a group, it’s situational I guess :-))) ) In PvE I rarely die, it takes an OP boss that one-shots me, regular mobs in almost any quantities don’t stand a chance.
Am I exaggerating ? A little – the mob rangers still can be a pain in bigger numbers.

The black screen appearance makes me think – doesn’t your Windows complain about the graphics drivers having stopped and being restarted ? That happened to me once and the symptoms were exactly the ones Stokes describes.

The one thing that stands out for me is the fact that this thread could be probably much more informative if you finished your phone call first. :-)

Did you check the “remember this connection” button before clicking “Allow connection” ?

While I have arrived at the point where only 1 thief was alive, the quest never finished. Me and maybe 5 other players kept killing harpies, resurrect Skritt Foragers for like 15 minutes but the quest never progressed, there was still just 1 thief left (we never saw him I think).

I dunno bout you guys, but in this area, i was being greatsword warrior (I was new and its way better then sword, i want axes or hammer, not the greatsword, so dont hate on me please) and I saw that this one flamethrower engie was utterly DOMINATING everything. He killed this one boss and it seemed like he did it all, and barely lost any hp. It was beautiful, all that flame.

No, you just didn’t notice the Thief in the background doing all the damage.

If BURN is a BONUS on a FLAMETHROWER, the logic has successfully died.

Then again, there are MMOs that do other things much worse. But all in all – we all will get there one day, in a few years all of us will have new rigs and THEN we will blast each other into smithereens in W3 at 50FPS. Not 60 though.

Well I was experimenting the other day, put the audio quality slider half way and gained a few FPS just by doing that. So audio is definitely in play here.

Just get all the parts, get into a local computer shop and let them do it for a few quid. If you don’t have the experience / don’t want to risk, it’s much better than spend hours researching stuff, especially if this is a one-off and you don’t want to keep building computers. It’s always a plus to have the knowledge, but hey, life is life.

WARNING: Don’t buy from the local computer shop. Especially the smaller businesses in UK tend to rip you off majorly, so be cautious. So far I found internet the best competitive source of my components.

Flamethrower should be stacking burn condition. It’s already a punishment that one needs to be a virtual acrobat to aim it properly and with, IMHO, 3 other lame abilities, air blast being somewhat useful in close quarters. Keep the lame range, but for kitten’s sake, make the flamethrower burn stuff properly.
There is 0 reason to play that kit once you’ve leveled up enough from low 20s. I can do better damage with other kits, sigils don’t apply so why the kitten would I be wasting time with flamethrower that doesn’t burn things ?

I propose ANet stops working on all the silly FPS optimizations, content debugging and fixing roughly bazillion problems with the game and dedicates at least 70% of its staff to creating a Linux client, because that has higher priority.
Then we could have Linux forum with Linux problems, which would be overall much better than to just have a Mac forum with Mac problems.

Camera needs changes and fast. It’s highly annoying to do jumping puzzles with the one we have now.

Seriously now, OP, that proc is really slow for the game and the game itself not really being on the optimized side means low FPS for you unfortunately. There are people around here with Mobility 6450 having low FPS.

I don’t think a petition is needed for ANet to realize more optimization is due.
They have like full Tech Support forum full of prompts to do just that.

The difference between low and ultra can be felt on FPS a little. Visually – maybe it’s one of those things that need you to change zones before they take effect ?

So without ANet knowing where exactly you are standing and what exactly you’re looking at and with your ambiguous “when I look at a certain part in the Charr City, the Black Citadel (Where I can look at the outside hills and ruins)” and knowing there are like 3 places in Black Citadel where you can look at the hills and ruins – they sure have a big chance to pinpoint the problem. I understand.

I believe it’s totally lame that FLAMETHROWER (read FLAMETHROWER) doesn’t lay a MAJOR BURN CONDITION THROUGHOUT.

Why even use it ? Yes it looks cool. But the implementation is a bad joke.
In anyone’s logic, fire burns stuff. A LOT. Somehow our sorry excuse for a flamethrower doesn’t.

Well that is all interesting but what’s the point you’re making ? Normally people tend to separate the point they are making either in a paragraph or simply putting it as the last sentence. You know, so that there is a definitive reason why a post has been made which allows others to react to it.
From what I’ve read I assume you would like us to sign some petition, but please, make it a bit more clearer.

We can all agree with all the other issues ironed out all we need now is Linux version.

They are ablaze. As I said several times now – without statistics there is no telling how much of a minority or – God forbid – majority, the players experiencing issues are.

A little warning for you: a mod is going to close your thread because it is not ‘tech related’.

They don’t like people complaining about genuine problems.

Tomorrow marks the 14th day of my fps issues, with no solution in sight. Arenanet has agreed to give me my money back.

I suggest you contact their support and ask for the same. There’s no reason to pay extra to be a beta tester.

I don’t plan to quit on the game. I like the game. In fact, for the first few weeks I’d almost say I loved the game.

I don’t like the way ANet keeps being silent about apparent issues. Inb4theyacknowledgedtheproblem: Responding in some obscure thread or reddit or twitter doesn’t count in my book. I don’t care about reddit nor twitter. THIS IS THE OFFICIAL FORUM.
Creating a separate thread about these issues or even better – an article – that’s what is needed.
