The dodge jump works 100% of the time you do it correctly. If it didn’t work, it’s you messing up the timing (Which needs to be perfect).

So besides the fact that you’re perfect and cant ever mess up a timing that needs to be precise to the second, you’re really complaining about something unintentional that somebody discovered on accident? (Me by the way)

If by any way it doesnt work correctly, it’s because they never intended for it to work in the first place. It’s a harmless and helpful bug that anet decided to leave in.

Giant Slayer takes a giant amount of time

Lately I’ve been browsing my Slayer achievements tab and noticed the Giant Slayer achievement. The counter is at 8 out of 10 !! At first I thought it was a bug so I did some research and found out what the problem was.

According to this guide (which I believe to be correct) there are only 3 spots where Giants spawn, or to be precise : One spot where Giant(s) can spawn (if you are with a group), and 2 spots where a Giant can spawn as Champion.

All the other Slayer achievements are fairly easy, because almost all of the counters are around 700 just from playing on my main character (I have another level 80 but with 20% map only, and played dungeons with creatures in them from which I already had a 1000 kills).

I guess my question is : WHATSUP?!?! Did the Giants make a special deal with you ? Did they threaten you and/or your families ? you should really call the police for that. Are all ArenaNet developers descendents of the same tribe as them ? I’m not sure why you are protecting them so much, I mean comon, look at all the damage they caused in all those fairy-tales and stuff. Not to forget : most of them have animals that lay GOLDEN EGGS and they’re not even sharing. So unless they are sharing those golden eggs with you somehow I don’t see any reason to further protect there species, and you should just let us destroy the whole bunch.

If your keyboard/mouse isn’t decade old… why not just driver side bind 2 keys to 1?
When I do sab I use one of my generic mouse buttons that’s for call target and set it as alt+space which is dodge and jump. Problem solved.
Also not sure if its needed anywhere I use it when it saves me time/effort.

my mouse and keyboard work fine, its like I explained, you have to be lucky the game accepts your input correctly, that has nothing to do with skills and/or the quality of my keyboard

Greetings,

In the Super Adventure Box there are many places where you are required to use the dodge-jump, the problem is : 9 out of 10 times it doesn’t work, and then you just end up dead having to redo the whole part you just did ONLY because you have to press two buttons at the same time which doesn’t always work properly.
If you’re going to force us to make use of all the character movement capabilities then atleast give it a keybind, or make sure it works as intended.
I’m not saying I dislike this, the levels are very frustrating, but in a fun way and it feels good to FINALLY get “that” achievement and move on to the next challenge, the only downside is the dodge-jump.
Basically you have to be lucky the game accepts your input properly, that has nothing to do with skill, it’s just time wasting, not to forget : the people that don’t want to buy and/or can’t afford the infinite coin who will be affected the most by this.
I understand you want to give us a challenge, and I like Super Adventure Box a lot also because of it’s art and story, but that dodge-jump is just not skill based at all and partially ruins it.

World 1 Zone 3 Bugged?

I just finished the zone now. I followed the guide as well and I didnt get the achievement. I didnt see a 5th bauble. But i heard people saying there is a new secret location with baubles inside it that even dulfy dosnt know about….Would like some clarification.

In the comment section from a youtube guide someone said : you can’t do this zone in infant mode if you want the baubel achievement (keep in mind that someone said this in the COMMENT SECTION on YOUTUBE…)
Anyway if this is true (which it most likely isn’t) could you (you as in ArenaNet) put that information in the achievement ?
And last, I think it’s NOT true what you (you as in the quoted poster) said about the new secret area : I have found all the secret area’s today and got the achievement for it using a guide from the last time SAB was active, unless they made an unlisted secret area which hopefully is not the case or I will scream very loud

this was changed with the patch from today, my friend did this BEFORE today’s update and he got the achievement following the same guide I followed today, together with my friend, TWICE, and I didn’t get a thing

If you join the map any time during the first ten minutes of every hour the overflow you’re on will always be running the event.

The only time you’ll ever join an overflow without the event is when you join after the first ten minutes of the hour.

This is to stop people waiting until 30 minutes in to the hour and then hopping on to an ongoing event, effectively creating a complete lack of participants until that time resulting in every single event failing due to freeloaders.

This is all you need to know. Sorry you got screwed out of this event. I don’t necessarily have much play time myself, but I got everything done I wanted. Poor implementation or not, the rules are pretty clear. It’s certainly not Anet’s fault you weren’t able to be playing on the hour.

  • Watch the World Event UI for new invasions.
  • All overflow maps created within 10 minutes of the start of the invasion will host a concurrent version of that hour’s event.

You might read the forum posts before trying to sound smart as they explain that this is not the case very often.

I’m having the same issue, I thought invasions were supposed to be running CORRECTLY on ALL overflows ?
Yet when I port to the area I get the same red message atleast 50% of the times, very annoying.
Atleast TEST the events BEFORE uploading them to the servers instead of just throwing it out there, waiting for people to report bugs that then take 2 weeks to get fixed (if they even get fixed at all because most of them never do)

Balloon Tower Tourist Bugged

It’s… not… bugged…

That means you already did that tower. The chests are once per map, per account. You need to go to other maps in order to finish the whole achievement.

Note – there are 2 balloons per map. That means you must visit 15 different maps.

Balloon Tower Tourist Bugged

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to get the achievement that you open 30 chests at balloon towers all over the world, but almost all of them are bugged somehow.

The chest often opens up by itself when I run to it up the staircase (that means without me pressing F) and then I press F to get loot and end up in Divinity’s Reach.

What also may happen is that the chest is already closed like I looted it already today when I didn’t, this also means it won’d add to the counter and again I end up in Divinity’s Reach.

Or the chest just floats in the air and then I can’t loot it… AND END UP IN DIVINITY’S REACH !!!

I have tried atleast 15 chests today and they all had the same issue, meanwhile my achievement counter is stuck at 11 because of it. This way I (and probably many others) can’t finish the achievement to get the mini air balloon :S

If they make the game too easy people will complain, they make the game too hard people complain. The only thing that is hard is trying to kill shaman on a fractal 49, playing a drinking game how ever is not, if the game does not challenge you how are you suppose to get better.

The problem is it isn’t hard. It’s luck if you beat him or not. Go back and beat the Norn 3 times in a row and post video proof. Then we’ll put it down to it just being difficult.

My friend this topic says “UNBEATABLE” which it is not it took me an hour and i beat him, end of story. If you beat him first attempt in five minutes then this thread will read “WHERE IS THE CHALLENGE”. But the moment people have to spend time doing something for more than a few minutes, then you see a thread about it faster than the speed of light.

And there is no need to you to respond with a frivolous remark, just read and move .

Obviously you only read the title instead of reading my original post with it, your arguments are invalid, try reading the entire thing next time BEFORE you comment

it requires luck, but not to an extreme extend. And stop bringing up wow for everything you think that is wrong in game, it is a non-argument.

I said WoW or similar, so yea your argument is invalid, also : if I want to play games like WoW or similar I would play them instead of GuildWars, but I dont and this game was supposed to be nothing like it, yet I keep finding stuff that should be in those games instead of this one

Adnul Irongut is UNBEATABLE unless you are very VERY lucky.
He can block your Bluff for 3 rounds with his signature which he can use unlimited while we can only use it ONCE in the entire battle AND he can block Bluff at random without signature. there are no patterns in his attacks whatsoever. It’s really awful.
FIX THIS NPC !!!!! He is waaaaaay too overpowered and it’s keeping me from continuing to the last challenge in the Bazaar which only lasts for another week or so.
I understand you want to give us a good challenge so not everyone gets the same title, but this is ridiculous.
You have to keep it doable, and this clearly isn’t unless you are extremely lucky which means it doesn’t require skills, I’ve had it with these luck-based achievements, and if I remember correct this game was all about using skills, not luck-based like WoW or similar.

Nope, users who can’t skip properly are fail, but I doubt Anet can fix them

nice try, but that doesn’t work, people dont speak if they want to slack-skip, if you dont want to do it the normal way then say it BEFORE inviting people or asking for a group. not hard

I think the scaling tables for all bosses and events have a maximum limit, so just remove the limit and let it scale up for each person that joins instead of only the first 25, or whatever its set on now

Actually, trash mobs in dungeons are fail and need to be removed.

Why even have trash mobs in dungeons? If I want to fight normal creatures, I can do it all day in the open world. What do they add to dungeons? Grind. That’s what.

Gimme traps. Gimme interesting, challenging boss fights with unique tactics caused by unique terrain. Gimme puzzles. Gimme anything but more autoattack-worthy trash mobs.

Keep those mundane trash mobs in the open world environment where they belong. They add nothing to dungeons.

(Trash mobs can be good if set up with extra mechanics, like gauntlets or gathering items while running through the trash. But hallway after hallway of trash mobs just to get to the next boss fight? No thanks.)

also to add to the costumized soundtracks : in Ascalon and Maguum area’s i hear two differnt songs but they keep repeating forever, its so annoying

Regarding soundtrack, I know every other playlist is randomized, is the randomization in the bosses playlist bugged?

yes you’re right, they are randomized, but not (world)bosses and the MainMenu, and also in Ascalon area’s it always plays the same songs in the same order in Ambient, so whenever you do a battle with lots of enemies and the music changes back to Ambient its the same one again, sometimes it just resets by itself i’m not sure why but this is only in Ascalon area’s

Strange, because I join a lot of skip runs and people can do it most of the time without problems. Again, this is a problem that people are not skilled enough not the problem with skipping itself. You wrote that it takes hours to make a non skipping group. So people who don’t like skipping are very rare. If skipping was even half bad, as you say it is wouldn’t people embrace the possibility to kill everything and finding a group of people who think like you would take a few minutes?

And I can say the same for you : if you skippers make a group then clearly state you want to skip instead of doing it the normal way.

You are not the one to decide what is the normal way of doing things. This is defined by what majority of players do and even by reading your posts one can clearly see that skipping is a norm in dungeons right now. So when joining a group I assume they will be skipping because that is what most people do.

The second problem is that skipping is possible, so yes, there IS something Arenanet has to fix if they want to help us get rid of that time-wasting skip-nonsense.

I have absolutely no idea why Anet would try to “fix” skipping after they admitted they consider it as a valid tactic.

EVERYTHING is wrong with skipping, and it needs to go back to Pandaria, it has no place in this game

Really you should just state that you don’t want to skip when making a party, advertise on gw2lfg and your problems will be gone. Have fun in CoF p1 bridge

“Skip this, skip that, skip everything, skip skip skip.” That’s all I see in dungeons these days, and I’m sick of it.

Then why don’t you start a non skipping group? Why do you deny people the right to play how they want? What makes you the one that should decide how people should play? And finally if skipping is such a terrible idea why do people do it all the time?

It NEVER saves time, it only costs more time because there is always someone who dies later on and then he/she has to walk back, again past those same “skip”-packs, and dies again and again because noone wants to run back to help kill those packs like they were supposed to do in the first place, also, half the time skipping fails in the progress and then the whole group ends up dead and the whole story start over again.

The problem is not the skipping itself, but the fact that people want to do it despite the fact that they are not skilled enough to do it correctly. And since the problem is not the game itself but the people Anet has nothing to fix.

I have the perfect solution to this skipping-nonsense : If you run away far enough the enemy will stop chasing you and run back to where it came from, how about skipping that enemy-behavior from dungeons, so this whole useless time-wasting skipping stuff is brought to a halt and we can play dungeons the normal way.

Removing of leashing trashes was discussed a lot of times and people provided ideas to overcome it and continue to skip. Also for most of people skipping trashes is playing the game normal way. Do you really expect someone who runs a dungeon for nth time to kill all the trashes just because you want them to? People just want the reward and they want it ASAP so they skip. And there is nothing wrong with that, it’s just human nature.

There are 2 problems, the first is that skippers tend to charge in a pack, attack a bit and then run off while the rest is still fighting, like you are supposed to know they want to skip everything when they dont even speak. The second problem is that skipping is possible, so yes, there IS something Arenanet has to fix if they want to help us get rid of that time-wasting skip-nonsense.

It’s not human nature, it’s the nature of impatient kids, taking down a pack takes 1-2 minutes and because of all the stuff I already explained in my original post, AND in this one, it saves atleast 10 minutes, so yes, EVERYTHING is wrong with skipping, and it needs to go back to Pandaria, it has no place in this game.

Story Mode dungeons = solo-able

I would prefer a 2-man setting instead of solo, also , a dungeon finder ruins the game, just look at WoW and learn from their mistakes.

Hello Guild Wars 2 Developers,

Lately I have been writing down some things, which I think, would improve the game, here are the results.

-Dungeons
“Skip this, skip that, skip everything, skip skip skip.” That’s all I see in dungeons these days, and I’m sick of it. It NEVER saves time, it only costs more time because there is always someone who dies later on and then he/she has to walk back, again past those same “skip”-packs, and dies again and again because noone wants to run back to help kill those packs like they were supposed to do in the first place, also, half the time skipping fails in the progress and then the whole group ends up dead and the whole story start over again. I have the perfect solution to this skipping-nonsense : If you run away far enough the enemy will stop chasing you and run back to where it came from, how about skipping that enemy-behavior from dungeons, so this whole useless time-wasting skipping stuff is brought to a halt and we can play dungeons the normal way.

-Points of Interest
It would be really nice to have a log for each discovered point of interest (similar to the one for personal story) with a little background story of the place.

-Heart Events
Every completed heart event sends a letter to your mailbox, after a while your mailbox gets really full from all these letters. I suggest a log similar to the one described above so we can delete all those mails and still read them back whenever we want.

-Vista’s
Well you’ve guessed it, another log, with the option to watch back your discovered Vista’s from the area you are currently standing in.

-Waypoints
The costs of waypoints have been a thorn in the eye for many players, here is a great solution : Lets say you have 100% completion of Gendarran Fields, in that case all waypoints within Gendarran Fields are free of use as long as you are standing IN Gendarran Fields (similar to cities). Since you’ve helped out to make the area a better/saver place it would make sense lore-wise aswell

-Customized Soundtracks Part 1
I love this feature, however I noticed some things, for example : Whenever a (world)boss battle starts, my playlist gets played in the same order every time, so I barely hear a different song for the shorter fights, the same goes for the main menu when you start the game or relog to another character. Is it possible to change this feature so whenever a certain playlist starts, it picks a random song ? And last but not least, could you change it so that we hear City music in Lion’s Arch instead of Ambient ? It IS the main city after all

-Customized Soundtracks Part 2
I’m just throwing out idea’s : There are different types of area’s like forests, swamps, snowy mountains, desert-type area’s, since we can add our own music to the game it would be really sweet if it’s possible to add more playlists for these types of area’s, for example :
-Swamp / SwampNight
-Snow / SnowNight
-etc etc, you can see where I’m going with this hehe
EDIT: and a new one I just thought of , PersonalStory playlist
