Also, what was the secret Scarlet knew about Caithe that she didn’t want the rest of the world knowing?
Good question.

When I pass through Lion’s Arch I can’t help but think for a moment that somehow I failed. It’s like I played the game and lost. Obviously I have no influence over the story, but it still feels like I should have done more.
Yep, I know exactly what you mean. hug
Mission to take one of Scarlet’s bases turns out to be Plants vs Zombies mini game.
Brilliant!
I’d say he’s with Peter the Lost.

I think it’s been established that the Moon isn’t actually a moon at all.
Something about how it moves (or doesn’t move) in the sky.
That’s no moon – it’s a space station. :P

Someone said there was a way to get on the Breachmaker without going through the knights, is that true at all? No Spoilers Please
There is a purple portal by Diverse Ledges (where the diving platform was) – you meet up with Lionguard Turma (the Commanding Heights achieve), talk to her, and you’re in. You skip things, but this is how I got the Hero title without having to beat the knights/holos/etc.
^^ Well said.

AFAIK Ehmry Bay has either not completed the Knights at all or very few times before the 150 people event max patch.

I was in an overflow yesterday (I only go to LA when the dailies reset, when I went multiple times in one day for EfLA) and there was such a bad lack of coordination that “OMG TOO MANY PEOPLE AT GREEN, GET LOST LOL”.

I agree with the OP. I liked Escape from LA. I don’t like Battle for LA. Trying to force an entire server to coordinate is just frustrating for the WvW people AND the PvE people. Nevermind that Anet is rewarding the servers with a high WvW population and punishing the servers without.
And of course forcing players to change their build to deal with the Scarlet fight – nice way of letting us play how we want.
Great post. I only wanted to add that this pressure cooker had caused the toxicity in LA to explode exponentially. EfLA was actually FUN, even though you had the afk’ers at the three entrances. The ONLY good things about BfLA is:
- the dailies, so far, have been extremely easy
- there are now armor repair NPCs by the three entrances
- we can still get those doggone heirlooms
I know that it’s bad to get to the point where you feel that you have to tell people off when you’re merely trying to be as helpful as you can, but I think I’m there. Thanks, ANet. Thank you for thoroughly ruining LA for good.
^ That’s fair. It sounds to me like we both have different styles of play.
ufodisko – players will ALWAYS have mixed feelings about crafting. It’s just the nature of the beast. I will say that you’ll get more XP from discovering a new recipe/item than you will from either making wood planks from tree logs or ingots from pieces of metal ore. You will need to refine something in order to craft from it, though.
It may be the False River WP in Lornar’s Pass, which was added during the marionette event.
Well, welcome to GW2 then!
Haha, good call! I was going more for the Dune angle though.
Ninja’d by Zaxares. Like he/she posted, you level much faster at lower levels – which only stands to reason, as you need more XP to level the higher that you go.
I’d be more worried about your total coins if your Ranger isn’t your very first character, but it sounds like you’re just starting out. The coins will come in more the higher your level is. Just be patient – sounds like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Just relax and have fun playing/leveling/etc.
What Scarlet saw in the box was “only what she took in with her”.
Heh – I must not fear…
I must be an aberration then, as I’m loving the scepter/torch combo on my Guard – scepter for better ranged attacks than staff (IMO) and torch gives decent support to the scepter skills.
Of course, on anything, ymmv.
^^ That won’t end well.

Oh, duh!
I did get the achieve, so I’m not complaining in the least.

I think a good solution would be to put a ressing timer instead of a AFK timer.
Aetherblade Assassins will randomly spawn on players sometimes no matter where you are. They’ll be just normal mobs (ie, not vets or elites and doesn’t scale), so to any non-afking player, it won’t really matter at all since you’ll just kill it in seconds, but if you’re afk, of course it’ll kill you.
If you don’t res within 2 minutes (for anyone), you get kicked out of LA. Timer resets if you receive healing within that time from someone trying to res you.
People might argue that what if you die in an event and are waiting to be resed? Well, if no one is trying to res you for 2 minutes, the chances are that they probably won’t res you at all until the event ends, so in other words, you should just WP.
Res timer? Really? What if I’m taking a moment or two to clear my inventory or type something in map chat before continuing with what I was doing? On your “system”, I’m afk regardless.
If people want to afk, LET THEM. It has no effect on what I’m there to accomplish, be it an heirloom run or a 1200 run.

I needed four last night to complete the achieve, but I think I had to get about 10 or so for it to complete.
(edited by DebraKadabra.5278)
I think you can, as long as you haven’t transmuted it on to another back piece.

Urmaug (the ogre of the Urmaug’s Secret JP) is the one who sells the Maintenance Oil station/statue at the refugee camp in Lornar’s Pass. It doesn’t look like the one Farzo posted though – I think it’s pillars of the bridge that went from the Grand Piazza to the fort.
Well… you have 5 character slots to start with, so you could feasibly roll all three (ele, mes & necro) and play through a few levels with each to see which one suits you best.
As for spells… well… there’s really no specific spells, as everything combat-wise is skill based. With the ele, you have the ability to have four different skill sets on the same weapon (based on the attunements of air, fire, water, and earth). But of the three, IIRC necro has the highest health pool.
You know, I think ele may be the way to go for you but it’s probably better if you decide that for yourself through game play. Good luck on whatever you choose!
Or you could randomly gift the shards to other players who intend to create the back piece, through map chat.
I do not think you can do what you think you can do…
You know, you’re absolutely right. It was the blueprints I was thinking of. facepalm

1700 rescues is nothing. Jq was getting 2k plus until the server bugged and broke for several days
Now, that I didn’t know. 2000+ rescues is awesome!
What about the cats of Lion’s Arch? You know… all of the grey cats that hung around the crafting stations and the BLTP HQ.

The whole point though is that TTS is organized enough to accomplish that, as opposed to maybe 600+ with the zerg fest.
As always though, ymmv.

1500 rescues is nothing to TTS – they rescued 1702 on one run earlier this morning.
Or you could randomly gift the shards to other players who intend to create the back piece, through map chat.
Whoops. I saw the icon near the airship, so I assumed the activity NPC was on it. My bad.
Or… you could park your toons in The Grove – all of the crafters/trainers/bank/BL reps are on the same level IIRC.
They are now at the Vigil Keep in Gendarran Fields, but you need a pass to the Captain’s Airship to access the daily activities. The laurel vendor and trait retainer are up there too.
The bad thing is that you have to be at least level 28 to survive outside of the Keep, since Gendarran is recommended for levels 25-35.
I’ve had a LOT of fun leveling my Guardian to 80 – it was rough at times, but Guards are pretty much tanks. The hardest thing for me is to not use the Guard play style for my other toons, as it gets me killed more often than not.
Sorry – the site Donari posted was the one I was thinking of.
This IMO is a really good place to start—

You can always guest on another server in your region NA or Europe.
I was coming in to post exactly this. Guesting is free (I think you can only guest on two different servers per day – someone PLEASE correct me if I’m wrong) and it’ll give you a good feel of what that server offers.
I’ve not guested to another server as of yet (I mostly do PvE), but it’s pretty painless from what I’ve read about it & understood. Look me up in game if you’re ever on Ehmry Bay server; I’m not adverse to partnering up with people on PvE things.
What is a spy kit? I checked the wiki and cannot find it.
Its the ash legion sky kit, you buy it from a heart in plains of ashford
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ash_Legion_Spy_Kit
It gives 10 secs of stealth if you stand still, if you move you lose the stealth.
There is the harpy feathers, that give 3 secs of stealth and you can move, but it got nerfed and now has a 5 secs cooldown, in the past you could just spam then and skip everything in dungeons easily
There’s also the Order of Whispers Spy Kit (which I only recently discovered, even though I’d completed Caledon Forest).
Am I the only woman in the game who don’t care how many women or “girls” play
and don’t care at all if people call me dude?
I have a really good male friend I “met” on a forum for a progressive metal band we both dig and he calls ALL the girls/ladies there “dude” lol :P
It’s nice to know who all is female on the server, but it’s not a requirement. I just want to have fun playing (and I usually do
).
I rolled a female Guardian as my very first GW2 character. My only complaint (and the disclaimer is that this could be solely based on the “build” I have for her) is that she doesn’t seem to move as fast as my other classed characters (except for my Norn Ranger, as I rolled her to be pretty beefy lol). There are, however, slot skills that can help with it (the ‘Retreat’ shout is one that immediately comes to mind) and the fact that there’s always speed booster drops from BL chests.
Anyhoo – my Guardian is a bad motor scooter otherwise. She kicks MAJOR butt in combat, and now that she’s lvl 80 she’s probably my favorite so far (flaws and all). I’d say that you really couldn’t go wrong with either one, but I play my Guardian the most.
Another female reporting in! My guy, his daughter and I all play GW2 – we’re on Ehmry Bay server.
I used to just play casual games… until Skyrim and GW2 hehe!
It’s not a very clear cap, but here’s my lvl 80 Guardian rocking her Wintersday finery.
I was just wondering the same thing, Drako, as I want to gift the game to my stepdaughter for Christmas/Wintersday.
Thanks for posting the tip, Sandra – that helps.
