Thief – Support
Never drink with the apothecary, you can’t know what she puts on your drink…
Show them yourself plying it or let them try (with you watching) on your computer
if you got 1 of them exotic and the other rare, go for the one you got as rare… otherwise look at the comments above (personally i can’t advise as still lvl 2 xD)
What happens when you wear 2 weapons with same sigil? I know for some but not for all… here are the ones I know (with example):
Permanent stat bonuses – No stacking, so it’s better to use 2 different ones (example: 2 sigil of accuracy give 5% crit chance still but 1 accuracy and 1 force give 5% damage and 5% crit chance )
On-kill stacking effects – The stack grows faster (2 instead of 1 per kill… 10 instead of 5 in PvP) but the limit is kept the same (25)
Condition duration bonuses – ? (really interested in this one)
Bonus damage versus specific foe – ?
On-kill one-time bonuses – ?
On-kill charging effects – ?
On-critical-hit – ? (also really interested)
On weapon swap – ?
PS.: sorry if wrong section to post or if topic already made but I haven’t found it.
Personally I’m a support thief and I must say that I love this skill…
While may not be the best DPS skill (what most of thiefs focus on) it’s a great control skill…
I use venoms based build with this as elite, as I use it I give all my allies (and myself) 2 buffs of basilisk venom, as so I stopped auto attacking before using it and wait the opponent to leave the stoned state (it becomes stoned about 2,5 seconds from allies attacks, since we rarely coordinate) so we get a total of about 5 stoned seconds, with a full coordinated team you could have up to 15seconds of stoned enemy (a litle more as every1 would wait the boss to start moving, so at max about 20s)! when facing just a single boss that may have a deadly attack in a non zerg group (instances especially) this is a lot… especially if you consider the quick venoms trait wich reduces the skill’s cooldown to 36 seconds.
It may not be the ideal “finish the game fast” skill, but when you want to control your opponent it’s, without a doubt, a great skill.

they made 1 every year since 2007 (for gw1) i just hope they remember to put the fake update notes again, man these were awesome (by awesome i mean so ridiculous u could give a good lol), also that may be hard since april’s fool ain’t a regular update day

I dread making alts because I have to do massive chores to make them useable with groups.
1. Map Completion – My group is doing an activity, but my alt doesn’t have a waypoint near that location. So, I either hold up the group while I run across the map, or I don’t go. Also to make legendaries this is required.
2. Personal Story- I really don’t want to reenact the same personal story for each character.
1- having the possibility to make map completition in each character gives you a chance for 2 more legendary weapons per character (due to giving that map component), and since you already know the locations with this new character you’ll b faster to get there
2- in story you get free weapons/gear that help you in leveling, actually advantaging the player who’s created an alt… also Anet already said they are planning to add a chance to hide storyline
completly agree with this, many players will come into the game and then end up finding friend x is on server y, but i already got in server z… for worse the new player is on NA while the friend is on EU… even tho guesting would allow them to join in EU/EU or NA/NA this new player would not be able to play with his friend unless paid a transfer…
Also i believe this free transfer should be a bit “not free” aka they would remove the value of transfering to a lower pop world from the price, making it free to transfer to a low pop (this would partially solve the NA/EU problem, wich is gona be the worst for new players) but still discouraging the transfer to bigger servers
I’m personally a fully condition/precision/toughness thief, and I love the high DoT a shortbow cluster can deal (1,5k conditions dmg, I know may seem weak but can’t afford runes) wich means a 1410 total extra damage per cluster (besides the hit dmg) and 936 damage from poison cloud that also hinders their healing.
While vs more resistant this deals a good total damage, reason for my choice of condition power, vs some lower defense or lower health pool opponents power/precision will function better… So it’s really just a matter of choice…
You can simply go full rampagers and get the best of both worlds while not getting much defense (but as long as you know how to move that is not a problem).

In my server this cathedral is never unlocked, people here are always just farming it and failing on purpose since this event is too hard for the rewards it gives (they say) does this happen also on the other servers (I’m in far shiverpeaks) or do people there tend to actually go for the conquer?
I kept trying most day (about 10x at least), and there was almost everytime someone actually pulling the shades to the npc granting it’s death (I did try to stealth it but wasn’t enough) instead of attacking the priest.
adapt to wichever you like, personally i go for bow+pistol/dagger since i’m a support thief, with this build i also get lots of condition dmg and nice AoE (non defensive) with the bow
all classes can actually do it if well traited and so on…
while guardian my be the easiest almost all others can do pretty well (ranger being indeed a problem due to pet sometimes running into trouble)
Personally I went for thief and have no regrets (even with a support based build)… (Note: all these i’m going to say are trait dependant) depending mostly on dodge thiefs can dodge 3x in a row and take less time to dodge again, we can also use invisibility to escape when the fight is getting too much out of our hand, using venoms we can also revover extra health that if paired with the healing signet makes us almost able to avoind clicking the button 6… also with a shortbow you get some nice AoE damage while with sword/pistol u get AoE blind… still if want to solo dagger can burst some hell damage and pistol will make a more stable one if built into condition
There is no official app…
If you have an android you may want to install these (and posting a on pc version of each too):
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gw2.skilltool – skill tool, unfortunely no stats yet, but good for some basic theorycraft (multiple ones on the computer, http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ being my favourite from the ones i’ve tryed)
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sirpali.gw2.tradepost.calculator – to search an item you may want and see it’s tendencys while out of the computer (gw2spidy if on the computer)
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.threesixtydev.fotohlfg – a non official dundgeon party finder (gw2lfg.com on the computer)
Besides those on android I’ve tryed most and you may want a dragon timer (they are about as good between them) but not anything that is almost a must
for iphone sorry but can’t advise on anything

must agree, there are 2 things that stop me from buying new clothes:
1. They take a lot of space!
2. you need to bank and keep moving them to use on other characters (create a npc like in gw1 plz Anet)
they aren’t treated like mats, they are a colectible, just as they should so they don’t waste your bank space xD
I semi-agree with that, I believe it was yours the suggestion I seen of a “character reset” that would do what you say and if that was a 100gems or so service i’d agree with your previous one, since you end up losing a lot on the long way anyway.
But for dyes I personally have 2 suggestions:
Account dye unlocker – cost 2500gems – all dyes arround all your characters (current and new ones) become unlocked for all your characters, does not unlock any new dye by itself… this suggestion i make as personally, and i’m sure many other outhere do the same, avoid alting for the sheer cost of having a character with the dyes you like, this would boost up both the dye market and the character slot purchases since now you’d be able to get your new characters the way you like without having to farm a lot
Unnidentified dye pack – price changed to 8x the converted gem price of unidentified dye (with a limit of low 100 – high 300gems) – double chance of rares compared with the unidentified dye drop item (or 1 guaranteed rare, 2 uncommon and 4 common), this suggestion comes since it’s much more profitable to exchange gems for gold and then buying unid dyes than ever thinking about purchasing them from the store, so this would increase the sales there
For the unidentified dye pack it’d work as this:
Current unid dye price: 14s 44b sell, 13s 15b buy, average 13s 97b
Current gems price: 1g 43s 9b (sell/100)
Dye price (rounded up) = (8x unid average price (rounded up to bronze)/gems price) x100gems wich would mean 77,665… rounded up would be 78gems, since it’s still under 100gems it would cost 100 gems to purchase, but you get the picture on the long run
+1 to this idea, in gw1 they had resistance and that avoided turning them useless on areas with mussat
already planned as stated in a previous blogpost
i agree with both suggestions, but i’d suggest the 2nd to onl happen to chars with over 1 week duration and instead of consuming place create a “recycle bin”
I also agree about shaterer but instead would go for option 2, and about HoM i must also agree, it’s pure cosmetic stuff, just like halloween, krakas event and so on skins, so couldn’t care less (despite having it and having to admit the edium armor for humans is amazingly great looking)
a little bump to see if devs can see, so far i still haven’t seen any1 against this idea
These add a new layer of data to be saved on the servers, while in gw1 weapons would only load on instanced areas here u got example of wvw where the more data u have to load (and since most battles are zergs) the slower it loads reducing the speed of game, but indeed i agree i would love to see this feature back in the game, also a weapon dyer in gw1
PS.: within this suggestion i’d also like to suggest that even if they apply it they could make WvW gear look standartized for the opponent teams, so all x type armored gear wear the same looking armor with the same colour (the colour of their world) therefore reducing the dataload for lower end pc’s
1st of all, you bought the box, you’d have done that for MANY (all i mean unless ur a downloader not supporting the devs) games that got plenty more bugs and/or less hours gameplay.
2nd… No game EVER pleases every player, so if you’re insatisfied just leave as many others do since they don’t enjoy this one. I’ve been loving te game, but let’s see i haven’t been playing 24/7 just to finish all, and when i play i go where i enjoy, i must admit i don’t like some parts, so what the game offers a lot more.
3rd… this is no suggestion at all
same but as long as they deliver good updates i can’t complain much
my bet for the next race (and seems logical due to so many places they are seen and despite not appearing often they are still a “major race”) is the tengu
i completely agree with this suggestion, since i’ve been playing in WvW despite the fact the bags appear at my feet i’m always moving and often end up missing them by not noticing, or in some other cases when the enemy zerg comes
2. http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ for builder (non official)
Lately I’ve been playing a lot of WvW with friends, despite being a thief I find myself doing a better job there as support than dps while in PvE in the areas due to he lack of players in my zone (currently lvl 65, seems most players are in the lvl 80 zone only) I find it very hard if not impossible to keep using the same build therefore I always have to retrait, and unless you are 80 just playing in the same area all players are or just doing dungeons this keep traits idea for supports gets expensive very fast (I really got scared when I made some calculations and therefore I’m limiting my experience to either only WvW or only PvE for 1 week periods in order to at least earn some cash)
Since as shown above the PvE and WvW builds may not fit so well together unless you want to be DPS in both (wich gets a bit boring in my opinion, I love supporting) you need to keep buying trait resets, so i’d suggest a build for each just like when you go to sPvP.
indeed I agree WvW points should be removed since not all players can play there, i personally been playing there all time but my girlfriend finds herself unable due to the fact despite gw2 requiring a rather average low end computer WvW needs wayy more.
Also the removal of these points would probably not affect any1 (ok, putting myself in one of these players with 100% completation I know they worked hard to get them, but seriously don’t think your pc should matter to either you can get an achievment)
PS.: yea, think I seen this suggestion before
I love the idea of a guild hall with housing aka a guild city where each player would have a let’s say 15×15 space (considering most houses in gw2 are about this sieze in the mesures i’m imagining) and a 50×50 space for the guild leader in the center of it (with extra options like a throne room)
but let’s be honest i’d love a start with just that main house where the king, guild leader, would build as he pleases, and on further releases the multiple player housing. I believe we need a better place to meet with our guildies instead of the current “just use a waypoint” that gets wayyy expensive and makes me sometimes avoid helping guildies outside WvW.

-I see many people complaining about the overwelming dmg of a thief and others asking not to reduce the “opening strikes” (how I call the attacks you use when invisible), in my opinion these attacks are both too powerfull for spammable attacks (witha d/d set you can spam it easily by using cloak and dagger followed by the 1 strike, especially if to that you join utility skills that hide you or recover initiative faster), but weak for a long space between uses
My fixing suggestion: add a cooldown for the use of “opening stikes”, my suggestion would be 5 to 8 seconds, meanwhile these skills would stay in their “regular skill” form avoiding such quick hide-attack-repeat combos
-Thief Elite nerfed, Basilisk venom… this skill became way weaker than any other elite (and I do include mistfire wolf and racials) when used solo, and even in a team you need a specific trait to make it usefull…
My suggestion: revert the skill back o it’s old “1 second non removable stun” and make that effect non stackable (so if you’d try to spam attack an opponent on that you’d lose the 2nd charge if had the trait and also a team couldn’t stun lock unless strategically plyed)
a simple question hopefully to b answered by Anet, i know in gw1 they had a policy of “no ban but if it breaks anything no support either”, i’d like to know how does it work in gw2, since it ain’t a bot and can offer nearly no advantage to players (unless someone somehow finds a way to make invisible players visible) except for some visuals different from the standart ones from the game on one’s own computer (i loved having crates as music boxes in gw1 xD)
they shall last untill guesting is avaliable, otherwise you’ll be unable to play with friends who got in other servers unless u pay ~10€ each time u want to join them…
Perosnally I see myself without a credit card (my bank card has some kind of problems being used online) but would like to purchase some gems, like me I bet there are others and youger people who can’t even own a bank card yet and need an alternative way to purchase gems…
My suggestion would be to make a deal with paysafe or ukash (these both in europe at least, not sure if they are on america or other areas of the world, also think paysafe is more widespread but not sure), just like I purchased a phisical standart edition (and not the deluxe, wich i’ll upgrade to as soon as I can get gems), I would like to have some way to, without getting a new credit card, purchase gems.
(not sure if this is the right forum or suggestions would be, if so move it there, please)
(edited by Decomposing Brains.7538)
mostly that happened me when i was mining or so 1 of the event’s mob’s attacked me and i accidentally last hit it, giving me bronze, also on escort missions you obly need to be close to get bronze, in those indeed tens to happen ore often
these indeed don’t break the economy, except maby the rare craft materials… but if the "Binford 3000 Grawl Whacker " would be a skin item (just like heritage gear) i really love the idea
