You sure somebody else wasn’t hitting them too? I find it hard to believe that CS was melting anyone.
Tbh i also find it hard to believe. Granted they werent the best thieves and im almost sure they were glass cannons but i was alone.
Of course it wasnt CS alone, i didnt cast CS and watched. I used other skills but still, they went down in no time wich normally doesnt happen since they run away like the “bravest of braves” they are :P
The usual scenario (for me at least) is you cast chaos storm and ppl dodge out of it and just wait that 1s daze (wich like half allready went by). Now they get the normal CS effect + 2k dmg (or 4k if im lucky and they get interrupted twice), get inmo+ chill, cripple or blind wich gives enough time to hit them with iWarlock or Duelist. Ohh i also get some nice might stacks and other random boon.
So CS killed them alone? Nopes but CS made a huge mess of CC that allowed me to kill them easy, something i wasnt able to do before. Maybe i was extremly lucky with rng and they sucked badly or never expected that, idk.
I know i should try it more but so far its a lot more promissing than I inatially thought about those traits.
I have to say, i was a bit skeptical about this but i thought wtf, ill give it a try in hotjoins and OMG it was hilarious watching ppl melting inside c-storm. Halting strike+BI+CI makes a really fun combo. I didnt gave it to much try but so far it was really fun. Specially watching that couple of thieves melting in secs without me realising what happened and how i did it (i was so focused in staying alive i didnt noticed the halting strike dmg + all the might stacks :P)
Only diference is i used pistol instead of focus for a more reliable phantasm. Err well, maybe theres more diferences i didnt read the whole build, just the main idea and just put those traits in the 2/6/6 setup i had….
Dang now i wanna try more interrupt builds and i cant even memorize how my own skill looks :P

Hey osi, nice vid.
I actually was thinking about the same as you, torch condition clear doesnt feel enough. Was having trouble with some engy some days ago till idk how he killed himself (i really have no clue what happened, maybe it was confusion)
I was thinking of using a similar build, but instead of torment sigil and baltazar runes using battle sigil and aristocracy runs. The might stacking seems nice in theory. Guess ill have to run CM to try it.
And btw, ty a lot i was thinking in going 0/20/30/20 instead of 10/20/30/10. Idk how i could miss that lol. I was so sad thinking id lose cripple on clone dead…. Well next time i log ill be sure to try that, ty a lot!
I know this idea is completely diferent from your sugestion but your idea for an elite made me think another. Ok half diferent, its still a movement skill that sumons ilusions…
How about Ilusionary Blink (manipulation)? Could be Ilusionary Asault maybe? I just realize Ilusionary Blink sounds a bit dumb :P
Blink to targuet location (900 range). Just like blink.
Summon 3 Clones surrounding the opponent in a square formation
Breaks stunts.
Drops target (otherwise it would be pointless)
And of course affected by traits to reduce CDs and increase range.
It is tied to ilusions and offers mesmers specialties: anoyance and in-combat mobility.
CD? I have no idea. Its not highly offensive, its probably not so game changing but it feels elite.
What about a shortbow?!?!?!
So we can shoot unicorns while our clones explode in butteflys?? Yay for being a 1 man zoo!!!
Well, another “we need trinity” post…. Ok, ill have to agree in that i miss tanking or healing a bit, but i also dont think that those rols are a necesity here. Others could be made. And i also think restricting a class to X rol is not also a good idea here. Tank/Healer/Dps normally works in some way that makes the some rols a must or completely useless.
But somethings could be changed a lil to add rols. If they made it so you can change trait everywhere (without cash shop) and added mobs more skills rols could be implemented imh with traits changing gameplay harder.
For example they could make triats that boost dmg by A LOT while others make all skills give AoE boons in a way you cant take both. So if some1 give boons to others it will do a lot less dmg but boost the group dmg by more than if no1 does that. A third rol could be boon striping and also achived by traits but this to be important mobs should have more boons. Every class could do any rol, just in diferent ways, while at the same time doing DPS.
Just as an example, if mobs had more boons a shater mesmer could use theyr shaters to remove theyr boons, they wont do as much dmg as a full dmg shatter mesmer but will boost overall dmg by more. Elem/guardian boons will make warriors and thieves hit harder also.
All those mechanics are allready there, the thing is theres rarely enough boons to remove and support by bufing your party is rarely focused in traits for most classes and none comes close to the raw power of DPS in PvE. Why not boost the mechanics they allready have?? Give mobs and bosses twice the HP they have but also give some traits that make each attack adds vulnerability and make it be twice as usefull so that way some1 will have to use it to bring them back to the usual time to take them down. Make mobs and bosses constantly reaply some boons (like dedges) so some1 has to remove them. Make every class be able to do that things if you trait for it, just not all at the same time. Conditions could also be made in a way that they are actually needed for PvE, lets face it, if you poison most bosses no1 will even notice it. Give bosses more heals and some1 will have to poison them or it will never end.
Imh the mechanics for rols are allready in game, they are just not strong enough. If they let us change traits all the time, make them way stronger and some mutually exclusive they could make a lot of rols appear. Maybe they could add more retrainers instead? Idk, maybe in waypoints?
Another thing that just came to my mind is they could make classes more even with HP, thoughtness and DMG and then make traits give a positive and a negative effect. For example a grandmaster trait could give 100% boon duration, reduce HP and DMG by 30% and make you share all the boons you cast with your party. Maybe instead of a trait an optional “bonnus” for maxing out a trait line? That way they could dissble those in PvP/WvW? Im just trying to think out of the box wich is probably what devs tried to do also.
Of course this is talking from a strictly PvE point of view and it would be really hard to balance in PvP/WvW. But lets be honest, PvE in “holy trinity games” is rarely balanced, pure tanks are useless in most games since they cant “hold aggro” on a person and usually the team with most healers tends to win. Not every game its like that, but it seems it happen way to often…..
Anyways, its actually up to ANet to decide where they want to take theyr game too….
Edit: Holy mother of a wall of text! You can easy notice i dont want to study! :P
Idk if we are the lowest dmg class, but for sure we are the hardest to notice the dmg class. With mesmer a lot of dmg comes from indirect sources like phantams or shatters instead of our 1-10 skills.
Also mesmers take a few secs to build up before dmg actually starts. While a warrior can just hit 2 on his GS we have to cast phantasms or clones to shatter depending on build.
On the other hand…. who cares, we are privileged with the most fun class to play
I want dancing clones to start my own personal partys in LA if we get skills for none aggresive zones
Hehe, maybe even change shatters to give clones some commands
F1: dance
F2: chase target and wave
F3: Jump
F4: bow? sleep?
Id love to stalk ppl with waves of neverending waving clones :P
Even when giving “revealed” can be very usefull in some places (mostly chocking points), the thief has be a serious idiot to cross a veil during a small fight in the open. But well i once casted a temporal curtain on a 1m tall bridge and crippled a whole zerg, it wasnt that hard to just jump down to avoid it but no1 did. Would had been more fun if i was a necro and feared them all now that i think of it
Idk id like it more if veil had better solo usefullness than still make us zerg utility tools.
Idk why you are comparing those skills in 2 completely diferent classes. Thieves are the masters of stealth, not mesmers, and good thing we dont have that much aviable stealth!
If a mesmer had just as much stealth as a thief basically you would have 1 sec to kill it thx to blurred frenzy, not to mention we can still dmg ppl while stealthed thx to clones and phantasm wich we can cast from stealth without breaking it.
So why thieves get a skill like SR and mesmers MI? Well, diferent classes that have completly diferent mechanics. Tbh i think mesmers stealths are fine as they are, they add missdirection while not being gamebreaking. I wouldt mind less casting time on MI, but thats it.
Dont you love being the most overpowered and underpowered class at the same time?? Its so amazing to see ppl complaining about 1 thing and then other about the exact opposite…. forums are so much fun lol
As for scepter…. bleed bleed poison?? Mmmm where i have seen that?? Ohh necro septer!! Now add that 3 more times! Posion on scepter i dont think its a good idea considering you + 3 clones can be stacking it.
Scepter Clones only cast Either Bolt (the first part of the chain) so if it went bleed bleed poison the enemy would only be getting stacks of bleeds from the clones which isnt that op at all.
Ohh true, scepter clones only do the first attack. They should fix that also and make them do the whole chain, without sumoning another clone of course
Tbh i still cant believe we got no nerfs lol
Waiting for some hardcore testers to find a hidden ninja nerf
Scepter used to have condusion on its AA and it caused a lot of QQ and tbh they might have been well deserved. Sure, confusion was a lot more powerfull back then, but still, getting perma confusion stacks it can be to much. Instead of confusion on staff it might be better to add another condition (torment?? i cant think of anything else that would fit) or just leave it with random bleed/burn.
As for scepter…. bleed bleed poison?? Mmmm where i have seen that?? Ohh necro septer!! Now add that 3 more times! Posion on scepter i dont think its a good idea considering you + 3 clones can be stacking it. Removing it will be useless since youll get it 1 sec later also. Probably bleed (2 stacks) and torment (1 stack) (1st and 2nd attacks) would be more balanced imh. With 3 clones out stacks would increase in intensity quite good if the duration is not to short.
Edit: keep in mind ANet LOOOOVESSS to nerf mesmers, so if something gets to good we can get hit even harder from the nerf hammer
(edited by Dess.4391)
Lol that was a great idea!! To bad i hate pinocchios so bad since Trahearne stole my greatsword!
Mesmers are a good all arround profesion, but we shine as duelist. A very versatile class that has a ton of active defence and missdirection skills. Keep in mind surviving as a mesmer is usually tight to skill of player, we rely more in not taking dmg than overhealing it or reducing it.
For zergs youll probably wont get as many tags as necros or elems, but we can get good drops with practice. Feedback (that purple reflect buble) might help you get a lot of tags or retaliation dmg or both
For roaming we kinda lack in swiftness department, so we need runes and/or focus to cover ground quickly, but once we are there we have awesome combat mobility and we are quite a pain in the kitten to deal with.
Also you probably wont see some impresive dmg numbers, a lot of our dmg comes from fantasms or conditions from clones or shaters depending on builds, but once you add all that our dmg is good enough.
Be warned first lvls are really annoying, mesmers shine at high lvls, not low. We are very trait dependant.
We have tanks, giant robots, airships and many weps of mass destruction so…..
Lets send 1 guy with Pinochio to kill that big dragon.
God, after finishing my personal story all i could think its they wanted me death, not the dragon, that was just a lucky mystake…..
Well, burst builds with mesmers are really good, and shater builds are the ones that can reach the highest burst of them imh. A lil thing to keep in mind…. compared to the other high burst class (thieves) we can spike dmg even more but we need to use quite a lot of skills at the same time: a hief would stealth and backstab, maybe add a steal there. A mesmer would have to get 3 ilusions up, inmovilise his target and blurred frenzy + shatter at the same time. Burst might be higher but takes more preparation.
As for what to use to lvl?? Well you can lvl with power builds from start without much problem. Mesmer tends to start low, but they only get stronguer and stronguer as they lvl. Sword/Pistol, Sword/Focus, Greatsowrd and Staff are very good starter weps. Personally i just love staff, it has some of the best defensive skills we have and its still good/decent (depending on traits also) on powerbuilds. Keep in mind we are VERY trait dependant, some skills go from crap to awesome with traits.
As how mesmers handle mobs…. well, we rely in not taking dmg in the first place. We have some realy nice skills than make us invulnerable, clones that take aggro often enough in pve, reflects, stealths and teleports. Basically we dance with our enemys kiting, porting away and going into mele range and back to ranged.
Youll also find this suggestion all over the forums…. first 5 trait points epend them in ilusions line to get the 20% reduction cooldown on all ilusions (it includes phantasms and clones). Also at start decoy and mirror images will speed your clone generation a LOT. Once you reach lvl 40 you can reskill and get Deceptive Evation to create a clone on dodge. From that point youll start going from good to amazing.
Mmmm Am I the only1 who´s scared theyll overbuff things only to overnerf them after??
Halting Strike: Damage dealt when interrupting enemies has been increased by 500%. sound potentially devastating, 2-3k dmg its quite a lot considering how many interupts we have. Not to mention divertion could hit like a truck IF you spread your clones properly.
Chaotic Interruption: This trait has been moved to the Grandmaster tier. In addition to inflicting a random condition, this trait will also apply a 2 second immobilize when interrupting an enemy. You could saiy the same, a good spread divertion would inmovilize your target for quite some time. Not to mention that with Imbued Divertion you could in theory halt a small zerg. Ok that would be the only thing you can do, ill give that. At least both traits are grandmaster….
Prismatic Understanding: This trait now pulses once every second while stealthed. This1 i dont get it, PU was allready a nice trait and now it will be awesome. I can almost smell prema protection….
Bountiful Interruption: This trait has been moved to the Master tier. In addition to granting a random boon on interrupt, this trait will also grant 5 stacks of might. add this now with PU with boon durations and mesmers became on of the best classes for boon generation…wich we can also share….
I agree that some mesmer build need some love, and mantras and interrups builds need it the most, but mesmers were allready good, now this might make us plain OP. Well, i guess we only can wait and see
Imh in zerg Vs zerg theres not much diference tagging than when you farm events. And if you think im impliying zergs act in a very similar way than mobs AI….. well, you are right
Also just blurred frenzy in the air sometimes works, idk how many times ppl came to, well, idk what, while i was doing that and take the dmg…. Ok AI sometimes might be smarter XP
Not exclusivly necros, condition dmg builds (wich necros are really good at) since we normally dont take many skills to remove them. Tho ill have to admit, fighting necros its annoying, some of them take really long to kill, And its even more annoying in WvW when you finally bring him down and a thief comes out of nothing and stealth ress him…
Well even im not the guy you fought i probably use a similar build to that guy with same utitlitys.
So from personal experience…. yeah you can pretty much have perma vigor and with mirror images + decoy + clone skills on wep with reduced cooldowns you can shatter A LOT. Actually you can make 3 full shatter in like 3 secs if for any reason you wanted to. As you described it seems he did not only shatter a lot, it seems he was able to manage his cooldowns quite effective.
Also, about being tanky and dealing good dmg at the same time…. well, dont underestimate neither some kinght+chevalier combo on gears (it packs a good puch even when you are focusing a lot on thoughtnes) or just how good he might had been in avoiding dmg so everything you said its quite possible to do at the same time but you have to be quite good to do it and he seem to be a really good player.
Only thing is or you have boon duration runes to get almost perma swiftness from Temporal Curtain or you use runes of air/centaurs + focus to get perma swiftness. Theres no way to get perma swiftness without focus, or at least i havent found it. Runes of the centaur alone have a 15s cd so using Mirror he might have 12s swiftness every 15s.
(edited by Dess.4391)
But btw … has anyone tested this with a mesmer? Would he be limited to 3? Overwriting his clones/ phantasms? Using which weapon?
And even most important… would you be able to make a 200+ clones shatter?? Sure, Mindwrack would hurt, but 30 mins of distortion would be completely broken
Err youll see a lot of mesmers using sword/focus cos theres not many other choices.
As main hand we only have scepter to choose wich…. well…. its kinda crappy with a horrible auto attack tha works best with a power build, a counter and a skill that adds confusion.
As for offhands…. well if we want swiftness theres no other choice. If we dont care about swiftness we have torch with a nice skill on the prestige and with the worst phantasm. Sword has a good phantasm but the block its very situational. Pistol is a nice wep with a good phantasm and a very good CC skill wich is even less telegraphed than ItV and of course theres focus.
Most mesmers pick the focus mostly for swiftness, not for CC. Give mesmers another way of getting swiftness and youll see a lot less x/focus mesmers arround. ItV comes like a nice adittion to the swiftness for most mesmers.
Also claming theres no counterplay….. did you ever thought about using shadowstep when the mesmer uses ItV? You wont only be up and fighting again youll also deny the mesmer the chained skill that will come after if you breake LoS with it wich it will be most likely iWarden or iLeap. Theres a reason why theres so many stun breakers wich, surprisingly, do not only break stunt, they break pulls, knockdowns, fear, etc….
Ohh and not being able to dodge it…. well, idk about you but i actually had to stop casting curtain→ItV instantly cos most ppl dodge it so i actually had to start using it to make ppl waste a dodge instead of pulling them.
Ohh the infamous pull of the walls…. funny thing, youll mostly pull mesmers since even a lil leaf on the ground will cause a lot of our skills to be obstructed. God idk how many times i was on a wall and saw like 4-5 obstructed in a row.
TC→ItV is also probably the only CC we cant conceal in anyway since, even when we are stealthed, the curtain will appear. We have a much more powerfull CC skill (Moa) with a long anymation that, if we want to land it, we can be sure we will land it thx to stealth.
Ok, here it goes… my first post in thieves forums
Tbh i have nothing agaist stealth skills, my main and only lvl 80 is a mesmer and i love using stealth. Also i dont mind fighting stealth classes.
Imh thieves have only 2 things that are frustrating about them:
1- Perma Stealth: I mean, come on, a thief pops out of nothing, i dodge, mirror images shatter and thief its almost dead so he stealths. He reapears full HP again i blurred frenzy, hit him again, he stealth again. He reapears full HP i distortion hit him again and he stealth again and we can go on like that forever…. Ok i get it, stealth its an important mechanic for thieves, but how many times i have to almost kill some1 before i finally run out of cooldowns?? So basically, stealth is fine, i can deal with it, but not like forever.
2- Stealthed ressing: and god this is even more annoying. As an example… some days ago i was roaming in WvW with 2 other ppl. We fought a group of 6-7 ppl who were quite bad so we were whiping the floor with them but…. everytime some1 was drowned a thief stealthed ressed them so basically even when they were quite bad we couldt finish any of them. You can say you can aoe the spot or aoe cc it but not everyone has that type of skills and being ressed from drowning its quite fast so if you need to wait 3 secs for cooldowns you can be sure theyll be up again.
Other than that i dont have much trouble with them. Specially since most thieves i found so far wont fight any1 they cant drown in theyr first backstab. It actually became quite funny to get ganked by 1 lately since i gave up chasing them. They attack me, i get them to 50% or less HP while they barely touch me, they stealth and we each part diferent ways, just like a rough “hi” :P
Of course every now and then a good thief appears and completely owns me but well, they were good, they deserved that win
OMG! I think i saw it all now! Now ppl ask for Into the Void nerf?? Whats next?? Nerf iMage?
Ok, it is a good skill and the the curtain is the reason why most mesmers chose focus but theres a lot better CC skills out there….
kitten i was looking for this today… why isnt on top??
Go Go free bump!! :P
Just think of what you wanna do.
Thieves shine at roaming solo and killing ppl that they find alone or in small partys for kiling and stealth ressing (wich i really hate, last time i drowned 7 persons and couldt kill a single 1….). If you plan on solo if you find some1 who can fight you back the normal outcome of the fight is the thief running away tho, in fact i dont bother with them anymore, they backstab me, i dodge or use an invul skill, hit them a bit and we part away from eachother, just like a rough way of saying hi :P
Mesmers imh tend to be more usefull in general, they are good roamers, not as good as thieves or d/d elems, but still good, have some great utility for zergs (probably where we shine more), we are good or small partys and we have spike dmg similar or maybe even higher than thieves if you build your char that way. On the other side, even when we seem to be able to do a lot of diferent things we cant do all at the same time as some ppl might think and to do our BIG burst we need to blow a lot of cooldowns toguether (iLeap + Dodge + Swap + Mirror Images + Blurred Frenzy + Mind Wrack with maybe even more skills) instead of just a backstab plus a couple of hits.
Also we mesmers are the class that ppl will allways find something to complain about. We had a lot of nerfs and now apparently ppl are watching at our phantasm builds to cry at wich is very good at 1 vs 1 (and only at 1 vs 1 normally) IF and BIG IF ppl stay and fight against us, normally they could just run and we can only wave at them with that build
Both classes share a big advantage also, we can pick our fights, if either mesmer or thief want to run, well we can do it thnx to our ports and stealths with thief being a lot easyer.
Edit: ill have to agree drongas, your build is kinda weird… seems like half phantasm with some shatter traits tho if you can pull it with that i dont see much problem. I suggest you take a loot at this builds to plan yours better:

Mantras were meant to be precasted and give either instant access to abilities or burst-like abilities. Both were wonderfully implemented. But with the latest changes (2x reduction in casttime), it’s not really necessary to precast them anymore. Other classes also have the abilities with higher casttime (esp reviving skills (which it quite pointless … casting 3.5s to revive an ally while you could just press F and revive at the same time)).
Alot Mesmers complained that Mantras are too clunky and ANet changed that. Actually I preferred the previous (longer casttime) with other effects. But they provide you exactly what they were meant for. You charge healing mantra and can heal anytime (while reviving or downed). For me the current flaws are:
- Grandmaster trait which let’s you deal more damage for unused Mantras. Mantras were meant to be precharged before fighting each mob (most) and used for each. This doesn’t work for this trait. Maybe make it a “autocharge” trait.
- -20% cooldown trait for Mantra of Pain.
- +1 Charge trait in Domination line. Only a single mantra is a damaging one.
- +Toughness while charging. The value is noticable but doesn’t really help you while charging. Either grant stability (with cd), aegis (with cd) or even invul (with cd) while casting.
- Reduce the charge CD from healing and damage mantra to 1s to 0.25s.
If you do those, I wouldn’t mind the old casttime.
You know, even when invul on mantra cast could be a very good buff (and needed) for mantra mesmers it could be a lil OP for other type of mesmers. Theres high chances a lot of mesmers just take MoP to be able to chain Blurred Frenzy, Distortion and MoP for a wooping 2 + 3 (or 4) + 2.75(?) secs of invulnerability and probably you could add another blurred frenzy at the end for 2 more secs.
Time warp skill cool down is not to bad compared to human elite skills. but its not a glammer and time warp can also kill you fast. if you have confusion on you and you are able to spam skills very rapitally you can down your self lol.
Quickness can be a bit weird in other ways, for example (most) leaps only travel half the distance under Quickness.
Casting fields while under Quickness causes them to expire quicker, which is a problem for non-ticking fields like Feedback.
And not to mention Blurred Frenzy last only 1 sec instead of 2 in TW
Hey Osi, i just posted that on grimms post and now its your turn….
After watching both of your vids im deing to see you both have a duel! When you guys are going to give as an epic Osi Vs Grimm vid??
Should i start it own post to get ppl asking for it??
Besides focus and swiftness of runes what osi does a lot if target a mob between him and the one whos chasing, blink past the mob and phase retreat. If on range then iLeap can be done also.
Edit: check his build post, he explains his tricks there very good
Am i the only1 who would love to see a vid of grimms fighting osicat?? Both of them show some epic fights in vids, now i wanna see how they hadle each other
Staff on berserker gears can hit quite hard, even without condition dmg spcially at short/medium range if you traited ilusionary elasticity.
The thing is in WvW you need to think if youll run with a zerg or if youll roam alone or in small partys also.
In a zerg you can be safe hiding among other ppl, so you dont need as much thoughtness or vit but staff tneds to be a bit lacking dealing dmg since proyectiles travel slow, iwarlock has a delay and chaos storm has a quite long cooldown. So imh GS shines here a bit more.
If you plan to roam in lil groups or alone staff its completely awesome for me. Youll be in mele/medium range a lot more often and youll be outnumbered in fights quite often so you can make full use of all staff offers. Also berserker gears tends to be more dangerous since youll get focused more, specially by thieves wich normally are “brave” enough to wait in stealth till you have less than 50% HP to start attacking….
As four builds…. well theres plenty of them

All are good places o look for builds or ideas to make your own
God, first confusion, then blurred frenzy now phantasm?? Are this ppl never gonna stop QQing??
Im starting to think in going to ALL classes forums and fill them with nerf them posts now…..
Well in Pve you can go ful glass cannon and still survive.
Some ppl will recomend to be more defensive on stats at first and start getting more dmg and less armor/vit as you play more and feel confortable with the class. I think i didnt wear a single piece of armor with thoughtness or vit in pve ever and learnt the hard way as i lvled: died a lot. But with time you learn to just avoid dmg.
Weird thing, now that i learn how to survive most things in pve as glass cannon im consifereing a tanky armor just for those bad pug party dungeons that wipes a lot to see if i can finish stuff alone.
Hehehe even when i would love to actually mess with ppls minds like that its probably quite OP. Better moving clones its nice, but then if you dont dodge could work just the same like a stealth in plain sight.
Idk, just give me 1 or 2 more skills like swap to change position with clones and ill be a very happy mesmer Ok, maybe not in staff, its allready an excelent wep. but could work in mirror images and GS clone? Hit mirror blade, swap with clone, ilusionary wave… sounds fun :P
+1 Idk how many times i died from aoes in bosses cos i thought, meh, let everyone dodge, ill just use F4 and keep hitting…..
If your only concern is tagging mobs, err i ment players in WvW well your best bet its to folow a zerg and actualy farming like you can farm DE in PvE. Seriusly i use exctly the same skill rotation, iZerker, mirrorblade, dodge then shatter.
Using clones that apper just right to the enemy player its usually better since it wont have to run much or at all so it has more chances of actually shattering tagging everyone arround.
Also other way to do it its using stealths/invulnerabilitys to get close enough for a mirror images + dodge + shatter combo. After of course youll need to stealth and blink away ASAP. Trying to do this Prismatic Understanding trait helps a ton since stealths last 1 more sec and youll get aegis/protection or regen from it Blured frency can also help you survie while dealing some dmg.
Feedback its also nice to tos in the zerg, the number you see poping out are amazing and i still cant believe ppl still hit through it. I mean, if everything turns purple stop using proyectiles, its not that hard. Getting the trait that grants confusion on glamours only helps to make it even better.
ehh. im going to hotjoin some spvp on a lvl 2 warrior tonight.. if i beat up anyone standing next to a bunker guardian warriors are official op.
Cool ill go make a glass cannon elem and stand next to it so you can then start a rant post in warriors forums teling ppl how OP they are :P
With the Mesmer, I just offense until I see a number on me then use one of my five “oh crap” buttons then proceed to offense again. I don’t really need to pay attention nor try very hard to predict what they are going to do, because I have the resources to negate and deny the damage while it happens anyway.
Awesome! Keep it like that and youll be food for everyone that knows how to fight a mesmer (wich is getting more common) and in some time youll come to QQ mesmers are UP

Health 23062
Damage Reduction 33.57%
Effective Health (EHP) 34719Knight/Cavalier:
Effective Power 2827.5
Health 15082
Damage Reduction 40.79%
Effective Health (EHP) 25473What’s the point of all the fuss around knight/cavalier if soldier gear gives you very almost the same amount of damage and a great deal more survivability?
Theres 1 thing thats probably not considered there and that its on crit effects like Sigils, Sharper Images, Critical Infusion….
Also id love to if that “Effective Power” and “Effective Health” are accurate. Idk, seems a lil weird that full knights have less DPS than full Soldier. Well, im too lazy to do the actual testing anyways :P
Knights gear main emphasis is on precision then toughness… Power is a minor thing in that set up.
Actually Knights main stat is thoughtness if i remembe right.
But my point was that the calculator doesnt take into account the on crit effects to calculate your effective power and health. So, for example, if you use a sigil of air in your wep your effective power its higher than it shows. Also its kinda hard to calculate and add a number to how much perma vigor helps.

Seven mirrors build also works good for it. Both Osi and this are the ones i like most.

You can reset your traits any time you want for a very small fee. At lvl 80 its like 3.5s if i remember right wich you can get selling like 2 random drops.
As for builds theres plenty, i suggest you to look at Osicat, Lazy Kay, Seven Mirrors (shatter builds, some full shatter, some not) and look for Phantasm Builds. Both Shatter builds and Phantasm builds work good in dungeons. Shatter builds rely in getting clones out fast to shatter then for big spikes of dmg, phantasm rely in keeping phantasm out for big dmg also both can hit quite hard.
There are some support builds like Chaos Maestro wich tbh i never tried myself.
Keep in mind mesmers are quite hard to play untill lvl 40, after that they just get better and better and better
Yeah, first lvls are kinda hard, but as many told you at lvl 40 you get Deceptive Evasion and that means you can pop out more clones than you can shatter. Seriusly, you become a clone factory.
Also the “make your ilusions tank for you” thing its quite possible at those lvls depending gears. Keep in mind your ilusions share most of your stats so if you se defensive stats like toughtness and vit your clones will be more durable.
I cant tell about other classes since i cant bring myself to play anything other than mesmers, but for us traits are very important, in fact they completely change how a mesmer can be played, thats why they higher lvl you are the more fun the class is.
Idk, recently i switched IP for Prismatic Undertanding and loving it. I kinda miss the reduced cooldown on shatters but the buffs from stealths is awesome to make us even more survival
The thing is, nobody is going to be focused on the solo mesmer who’s just appeared in the middle of their zerg. Everyone is worried about the big DPS Giant that’s in front of their zerg.
You have tried this?? Cos i love to go all emo suicide kamikae on zergs to make some chaos and maybe create an opening for others to attack but ppl in zergs tend to focus me a lot more than you would expect.
Tho ill have to admit it, its quite fun to be runing away with 20+ ppl chasing you while you spam all your stealths/invulnerabilitys to get them just that lil step further away from main zerg
