- Shoot your foe and bleed them (1 stack)
- Shoot your foe crippling them (6 seconds) 8s CD
- Fire a magic projectile which hits your foe stacking vulnerability (5 stacks) then bounces to allies granting regeneration (5 seconds) 3x bounces. 12s CD
Errr kinda breakes mesmers theme a bit since it lacks a clone skill like all weps have.
Also 2º skill traited or with very lil condition duration means perma cripple, not that i would hate it, but isnt a bit too much??
Also since we have weps acting in unexpected ways (like GS being a ranged wep that fire lasers) why not go on with this? Pistols could be a more AoE oriented wep. Idk maybe 3rd skill something like: Cast 3 clones arround you they all fire up the air causing a rain of bullets in a targueted area, probably better if its a chaneled skill with a quite long cooldown.
2nd skill could be a cone attack that casts 3 clones that do it and grant stealth to the real mesmer for like 1 sec.
Those clones could just vanish (neither shater or die, just vanish) after the attacks are done and not count for max clone count and neither kittenter fodder. They are just an animation, not an actual clone.
Mesmer is supposed to mess with ppls minds, idk i would personally prefer more misleading skills than direct dmg ones. In fact if i could i would give up dmg for more skills that confuse ppl (not the condition) or reduced cooldowns on the ones we have. kitten id love so much if IP stealthed me with the same animation of shaters for like 1 or 2 secs instead of counting myself as another clone for dmg….. That would be hilarious…. WTF?? All of them dahttered?? The what i was fighting??
Actually i like how GS was planned, instead of focusing on the negatives you can see it the other way.
If ppl stay far from GS they would be hit harder from GS1 wich they cant avoid as easy as other ranged attacks since its not a proyectile. On the other hand if they ge close to reduce the dmg from GS they will be open to more bounces from GS 2nd skill and shatters will have more chance to hit.
Idk if im the only person that thinks like this, but even as most mesmer wep seems counterintuitive they work exactly like that to your oponent also.
Staff works the same way, even when it has 1200 range it actually works better in closer range.
Why you think so many ppl come crying to this mesmer forums?? A lot of mesmers players have a hard time understanding theyr own class imagine now how bad its for ppl who never played one now.
We do have to work more to get the same DPS as other classes?? Yes. Now on the other hand we are harder to be negated. Kill my ilusions, then im safe, go hit me then my ilusions will dmg you, stay at range my GS1 hits harder, come closer my GS2 hits harder and i have more chances to burst you with shaters. It seems the theme of mesmer weps and utilitys is allways trying to be “whatever you do you are kittened”
You spend far more time putting the perfect group together and not enough time actually making money. And the gain is not so huge to make up for the wasted time checking each person and kicking them.
This is sooooo true. Unless you plan to do A LOT of cof the couple of mins saved by being everyone in berserker gears and getting the “perfect” classes wont be eough to do more runs in the same time (considering start time when you decided you wanted to go). And of course if you do THAT many tuns DR will hit and wont be profitable anymore, not to mention fun…..
On the other hand elitism its getting quite insane in all. Only experienced, only serker gears, only exotics, only warriors, only guardians, next what only blondes?? And how is some1 suposed to learn a dungeon if no1 will take them with them??
Personally sometimes ive had better runs with unexperienced ppl of random classes that i have no clue what gears where using than with all super “pro” partys. Instead of trying so hard to min/max should be time to start playing the game for the only reason it exists, having fun.
Heard some complains about AC and went there myself. Spider boss was a huge unexpected surprise but it can be done, its not as imposible as I heard. Didnt tried all paths only path 1 and once and ohh that was what the fire rings were used too?? And lol you dont need them, i just kited the hell of the boss + adds as all my party did and after the first wipe from surprise (we didnt expected that at all) we kill it on second try now knowing what will happen. I dont consider myself supper mesmer or anything but i think ppl overreacted on how hard it was.
And now on a lil diferent topic…. why the hell AC is that much harder than CoF?? Do any1 have any logical answer to that?? Why not make CoF first dungeon and keep AC as it is but now as a 70-75 lvl dungeon (of course scaling up stats on mobs to fit that lvl)
Idk, experienced, unexperienced, pugs, premade partys, ive seen all of them fail and succed. Some ppl learn really fast how to do it, others, while they are experienced just plain suck at it.
And if you think partys that cant kill lupi are bad you yet have to see partys that cant even reach it.
Tho ill admit it, i love to run arah with those so “pro” CoF farmers that just bash theyr heads at the first group of mobs they see and die, it doesnt get old lol i cant stop laughting at that :P (not every CoF farmers are like that, but theres a lot)
Errr Grenth its not that hard tbh. A group enters the portal ans kill shades and the otheres kill grent while everyone stayss as far away as the stairs as possible. No big trick there. Also if you die just dont stay dead waiting for some1 to fully ress you, respawn, it will be faster and you wont kill any1 that its fool enough to try to ress you in a place thats full of aoes.
Ill be honest, im starting to believe some ppl make it fail on porpouse so it starts again…..
Mind Stab dmg its even lower than GS aunto attack and it grounds you in place preventing you from moving. The 1 boon striping might be nice, but the grounding doesnt justify the risk to remove 1 boon unless maybe that boon is protection for example and t only has 1 boon on. On15- 25 stakcs of might i probably would use it also IF its the only boon my opponent has. Idk if i have bad luck or what, but i tend to remove the weakest boons most of the time, so i dont bother when theres multiple boons.
A lot of us tried this build for sure, i think no1 posted it tho. This build is awesome for eating noob HS spam thieves tho. Just dodge, double images, shatter and boom! thief dead, but you need fast reflexes for that.
Personaly i just cant seem to get rid of Illusionary Invigoration, that extra distortion had saved my life so many times lol Also if i had 30 points in dueling again i wold fo for far reaching manipulations, blink is just to good to catch ppl or escaping
Mmmm if 1 class is versatile enough to mess with thiefs its actually mesmers. Ive had some very long fight agaist thiefs in WvW and im not even a regular PvPer or WvWer….
Sure, theyr burst hurts, but even on glass cannon gears like i ususaly run for now we have tons of options like blink, distortion, blurred frenzy, decoy and if you are using staff phase retreat, chaos armor and chaos storm helps a lot also. Just be sure you dont burn all your cooldowns in first burst, cos you know there will be a second and a third and a……
Survive as a mesmer a thief burst its not that hard, ive survived a lot of them and even managed to fight agaist 2 for quite some time before they managed to bring me down.
Hardest part its actually bringing them down. You have to be really fast on your casts, they wont be visible for long. With some luck youll have time to to cast iBerserker, mirror images and shatter and if you are lucky enough and they are glassy enough this might bring them down.
But ill be honest, most fights i end up getting bored after a while and i just stealth and go away, its like a troll Vs troll fight to see who trolls the other more :P
Lol well, even if i dont have it still im also planing to get diferent stat gears to try even more builds and have some for diferent situations….

Theres plenty of mesmer guides here, and a lot of them are really good.
But tbh i suggest you try diferent weps and see what they can do, better to find your own playstyle than copy some1 elses.
As for weps sinergy…. well, diferent weps increase dmg a lot with power (sword/GS/pistol/focus) while others seem to be more effective with condition dmg (scepter/torch staff)
The thing with staff its it is a great defensive wep (phase retreat, chaos armor, chaos storm) wich would be kinda the opposite of GS wich is highly offensive. So you can chose to conbine your weps looking for them to work well with same stats or 1 to cover other weakness. Tbh, your choice.
Also mesmers have a lot of possible effective builds, so dont be affraid to try some, its really fun and reskilling its so cheap that it would be a waste to not do it
Personally i run with GS and sword/focus most of the time but i allways carry a staff with me in case i want to have better survible skills. Maybe if im ever rich enough i would carry all weps with me :P

Lol osi! You made me remember another….. I was in arah and ppl wanted me to port them across the dungeon to skip mobs, so i said, sure, im a mes, im awesome blah blah blah…. So i get my stealths skills, plant portal entry and start runing…. and I die. SO i reapet it and again i die, like 4 more times. So then I finally made it! I crossed half dungeon, got to a perfect spot for portal and Yay! I didnt casted the entry!
So in conclusion… i had to die like 4 more times trying to o it again :P
And also is one of the classes youll hear a lot of ppl saying (including myself) “after playing my mesmer i cant stan any other class for long”

My first was on early lvls…. i was like “Cool! i have all 3 clones! Now which one is my real char?” Had to start moving and jumping to identify myself from my clones, was hilarious.
Second one…. recently ( yeah i know, very “doh!” :P) i was completing a mid lvl map, all alone and then suddenly i see a guildie! Yay! I was so happy! Of course 2 secs later i found out it was my clone… again lol I felt so stupid but it was so much fun!

So even when confusion hits quite a lot its not unusual that mobs only take dmg once or that confusion goes away before they attack not taking dmg at all from it. If mobs attacked a lil faster confusion would destroy them a lot faster for sure.
Ok to this, I have no argument. It is dependent on the attack speed of the mobs. But for most mobs, I don’t think is so slow that it becomes weaker then bleeds right. When I get the time, I’ll do more test’s on a couple of mobs in dungeons and post the results.
However you do have to remember that a mob can only have a max of 25 stacks of bleed. On certain fights i have noticed that the mob, usually vets and bosses,almost have 25 stacks of bleed on them already. Hence there is a question of how much of those 25 stacks of bleed comes from you. Technically you can be doing not much dps. Thats the problem with bleed, its the number 1 condition damage being used across the board.
True also. In big event fights agaist 1 big boss your bleeds will be wasted and its most likely your confusion wont. Thats the only reason i would take out shaper images for pve in my mesmer if i could… If you are heavy built into cond dmg your bleeds are wasted, if you are not you waste some1 else bleeds…

@AnimatedWolf, its quite normal at lvl 12 mesmers seem a bit weak. But they scale A LOT in power as you lvl.
GS/Staff its a quite good combo. Even when staff doesnt bennefit from power as much as greatsword the staff has some ridiculous survival skills wich are always nice. Once you hit lvl 15 get Illusionists Celerity and your ilusions will have 20% less cooldown. That will help you a lot. Once you get lvl 40 youll be a mass clone production factory and youll start to see how powerfull mesmers can be and how much fun
Btw… staff seems to do low dmg but staff autoattack and staff clones aply conditions, so it melt mobs quite fast in fact.
Other weps you might try are 1h sword and pistol or focus as offhand. Scepter and torch are considered less powerfull but they have some interesting skills. Idk, just try whatever wep it drops for you
Seems that you look into to many QQ threads….. I cant tell if guardians have only 1 viable build for pvp or not but usually good players can find a lot of build that works. Also i wouldt say elems are the “dull standart mage” and the definately dont suck. Ive seen dagger/dagger elems take hits better than warriors and guardians. And necros also can be quite powerfull, ok, the shine at condition dmg, but probably youll find some other effective builds there.
As for your questions…..
1- No, you wont be gimping your dungeon group, mesmers have some great utilitys such as reflection skills (those can hurt A LOT), condition removals and the allways awesome portal and timewrap.
2- Yes, err all. Even when mesmers tend to have to do more things in order to achieve those things we can do all. You could heal with mantras on almost no cooldowns (not my fav by far) or protect ppl from proyectiles with your reflects or clones. Yeah, stand behind a clone and no proyectile will hit you. You have lots of CC skills and we also have a lot of survival thx to our skills. In fact its one of the few classes that can go full glass cannon and still be the last to die otr the only alive. Just find your playstyle, we can do all.
3-Mesmers are annoying compared to others in pvp. Theres plenty of builds here, i would try Seven Mirror or Ozi Shattercat build for starters, theres also an inmortal mesmer and a buffer mesmer wich relys on boon duration a lot, all seem quite nice.
4-Yeah, it is kinda hard at first, mesmers start slow. Our core mechanic is the ilusions and at the first lvls you cant mass produce them. Once you hit lvl 15 you can cast ilusions 20% faster, also at start youll consider getting more ilusions utilitys to get them out faster. Once you hit lvl 40 with Deceptive Evation (clone on dodge) the mesmer becomes a clone factory. After that it only gets better and better
5-On a scale from 1 to insanely fun?? For me its even more fun! I cant stand playing other classes for log after i played my mesmer. Its a really fast, dinamic and very reactive class. Its quite common that ppl dont know what you are doing cos we move from place to place a lot. Lol in fact sometimes i dont know what i am doing, i got confused a couple of times and didnt know who my char was between the clones :P

Well, idk if this was suggested or not before, i serched for it and didnt find anything so here i go….
Personally theres 2 things id like to see in this game:
1- A lil PM window that will open when you send or recieve a PM, that way you could have a conversation with some1 else and keep it appart ot the guild/normal/map chat.
2- Diferent movement animation: this ones could come from gem store and also as rewards from dungeons or WvW or sPvP or all of them. I wont affect game at all, only looks, but id love if my char could just levitate all the time like at 10cm from the ground and move that way, or run like a ninja or even more funny…. a drunk animation where you run all weird and uncoordinated
Those could affect the way you move in your attack skils or not, i know it would be a lil problematic if the did cos if 1 animation is half sec shorter everyone would get that one.
Yeah, those ideas are not original at all, seen them in other games, but i really like those so why not add them here also since they wont change mechanics at all.
Really nice idea! I might try this myself soon also, of course i might made a few touches to the build here and there but i love the basic idea!
The chaos trait line seems very interesting for this build, tho its hard to decide what to take out. Might try a 0/5/20/15/30 but i know ill miss Deceptive evasion a LOT. Well, since reskilling is so cheap i might try both

On lvl 10 I was doing lvl 20+ area’s, just fine doing champs in them as well.
At lvl 30, I did nothing but dgns from their, at lvl 42 first time I did Cm 3men.
Never had a problem at any lvl,, taking on much higher lvl mobs and multy of them.
Ok, i have a lvl 80 mesmer myself, my only lvl 80 char cos after playing a mesmer i just cant stand other classes for to long. I never had a problem lvling it, i find myself being the last to die or the only alive in several dungeons even when i was the only1 without a single thoughtness and vit point on gears, but…..
How the kitten you managed to solo lvl 20 champs on lvl 10??? Even at lvl 80 i have some troubles with champs my lvl sometimes. Ok, i took a long break and im very rusted and i dont have defensive gears(i know, i need to make myself some to use with a staff), but still!
The first time i did this boss was with another mesmer in party (total 2). We took it out and he spend all the fight running from clone to clone, it was hilarious tbh. He never touched any1.
And yes, i was able to reflect his gunshoot blast a couple of times, the dmg you do its amazing, but idk why i couldt reflect it all the times. I probably need more practice
If i remember right i reflected it with temporal courtain, not feedback buble, maybe he fires at too close range and his targuet its also bubled?? I havent run this dungeon in a while so my memory might be messing with me also :P

Was kinda hard to make it and tbh its half build. Reason i chose those traits and so far i didnt move its cos of mayor traits. Youll probably think why i didnt took any glamor trait if i use 2 but the thing is im allways changing them before fights. Also its the same with skills. I have all skills unlocked and change them all the time depending on the fight. This gives me the ability to switch to a stealth build if ppl want me to use portal to skip mobs or pick some1 or to become a more DPS oriented build using phantasms, bleeds from clones and shaters. Reflction is a great source of dmg also, some mobs practically kill them selfs.
Bouncing elasticity its also a leftover from my staff days, but its awesome with number 2 greatsword skill also and i dont seem to be able to give up on less shatters cooldowns :P I dont know if i might take it out soon tho.
Gear wise since theres not PvE gear in editor its hard to make it. Im still not sure if ill go a power/prec/cond build (riht now more on here) or power/prec/crit dmg build. The reason i use condition dmg instead of crit dmg its to make ilusions more usefull while they are up.
I know it still needs some more work so be free to add some feedback
Well theres a couple of things here
First we mesmer are quite bad in killing objects with a few exceptions where feedback makes them kills themself (those lil things that fire at you in arah for example). When we hit a object all our conditions are wasted so our clones become only shatter food instead of adding bleeds/burns/etc (wich the do good dmg, they just do it slower)
Other thing is i saw some ppl claming they do ohh so huge crits but what they do is to add all the dmg from 1 skill like Spatial Surge. For example I normally hit 800-1k with it (the higher number i see) and if i add them all would be maybe 2k-2.5k. So depending how ppl “read” the dmg you could have 1 claming he does 1k crits and other claming he does 2-2.5k when actually they do the same dmg. From what ive read the total dmg of your skill is the last number you see (in my last example 1k dmg) and it seems to fit since i dont see last hit of my skill take a larger chunk of HP. This things leads to confusion sometimes. Same could be said about phantasms, i think the highest number i saw my iberseker do is like 3k, if i add all hits it would be maybe like 9k, but i dont think im doing that much. (keep im mind im not sure if it had or how much might/vulnerability has been applied)
So in conclusion i dont think mesmers have bad DPS, but we lack in hitting objects compared to hitting bosses/mobs. Also since ppl dont read the same dmg the same way this leads to confusion. Also mesmers dmg can come in the form of reflect wich that dmg is huge but some ppl dont take in consideration.
Tbh im still waiting to see kitten of 1 of those so called 25k dmg warriors post a pick where i saw the actual 25k number on top of a mob. Ok, i didnt look much for it, but never saw it also :P
Last night me and another four guildmates ran AC path 1 and it was my first explore mode dungeon. I’ve heard the explore mode is meant to be hard and requires team work but this was an understatement. We took ~3 hours to clear it and that’s because in one particular fight we had to try 3-4 different tactics before we figured out how not to get wiped out and keep the key NPC alive.
This lack of the holy trinity is the best thing ever because it really forces you think out of box instead of having predetermined boring roles.
Even tho it was hard as all hell and sometimes borderline frustrating, it was fun all around.
Can’t wait to see the other two paths.

I also had some hard times in dungeons the first time i went to them (Arah Exp path 2 is my best example… ohh boy…that was hard!) But taking our time to think diferent ways instead of QQ and quit made us succed it. Think where its the best way to stand, what to skip, what to kill, what skills to bring…. sure it got frustrating in some points, but overall it was really fun. Of course getting a good party is important, and by good i dont mean supper skillfull ppl that allready memorized the game, i mean ppl who are willing to learn, try new things/builds and instead of complaining have soe nice laughts at how you failed and try diferent. Games are all about fun, so you died?? Who cares?? Have a laugh, try again and succed!
Idk, maybe its that i got so used to be “tank spams taunts, healer spams heals, DPS spamns damage” that this game came like a hit of fresh air and i love it!
Dungeons are hard?? Yeah, some are hard. They are unbeatable?? Nopes, not even close, once you get to know them you can do it without deing once.
So wish you can keep having fun in dungeons and im hoping to meet more ppl with your attitude
Again, as ALL mesmers skills its situational. I found it awesome to strip mobs/bosses from buffs (the regen in the troll in AC for example). Yeah the small size and how it roots you in place its not very nice, but it can have some nice effects
Tbh i rather have its boon strip over some blind or other effect, i really dont wanna take the remove a boon on shatter trait

Maybe make it like a very lil null field?? Remove 1 boon from enemy and 1 condition from ally?? I dont think it would become OP and will add more options to use it
Theres 2 things i found as a lvl 80 mesmer in dungeons…
1st- I didnt know what mesmers can do at first. It took me some time to realize we support ppl even when not tryng to… Example: every clone creates a safe zone from proyectiles, go behind 1 and you wont get hit by them.
2nd- Ppl dont know what mesmers can do. Same example applies: If you keep deing from proyectiles stop QQing and move behind a clone! Everyone can use them and should use them! Why do you thing we try to spread them??
And there i didnt count the obvius feedback, time warp, null field and other support skills.
As for dmg… I also find out that mesmers can do a glass cannon/high DPS build and still be effective. We have so many tricks to not get hit in the first place that im often the last to die or the only alive even on power/presition/condition dmg gears. So yeah, we can do nice dmg and thats not even counting the reflection skills, ive seen some crazy numbers with them….
Also bring 2 mesmers to a dungeon and watch everything run from clone to clone not hitting anyone, its hilarious. And thats not to mention ranged mobs/bosses fights, they become a walk in the park if both mesmers time theyr reflections, basically bosses kill themselfs
So imh as we play the class more and ppl play with us more we will all become more aware of what mesmers can do.
And dont get me wrong, im not the best meser you can find, ive seen some mesmers that if i could play half as good as them id be really happy.
So mesmers are the best class for dungeons?? I dont know, but I think we bring lots of help there

The chaos means you spend more time running around or standing around doing nothing. My thief is useless to my friends.. a lot.
You know, i had the same issue with my mesmer some time ago. I was thinking “so what am i supposed to do?? I cant do anything besides pew pew and remove some debuffs and reflect some proyectiles from time to time?” Then i started to realize all i did was helping, each clone i spam makes a safe zone from proyectiles, you see a clone? Go behind it! proyectile will break the clone and not touch you! Theres a paths full of traps ppl cant get passed?? Teleport and port them to the other end. Ppl die of proyectiles cos they didnt stand behind the clone? Go ress them and have a nice reflecting buble arround you. Took me several deads and fails to start learning my char but the thing is i was not my class fault i didt help others (or tink i didnt) it was exclusively my fault.
So basically all i can say its try new builds, try aproching battles diferent and you will probably find a nice build that can help everyone a lot in your own personal way
I refuse to play a char till the put a /chasetail animation!
On topic: i think humans fit better for the class. Norns seems to much like the “me smash things” type
would Mesmers be over powered if illusions persisted until out of combat?

Hahaha i had the exact opposite reaction. I got tyred of ppl runing away my heals range and then QQ cos they werent being healed
But yeah i understand how it can be frustrating to not be able to do that as you did in other games. The thing its here the mechanics resolve in not taking dmg, not in overhealing whatever the boss can throw at you.
Still you ca heal, not very efectively maybe but you can, i tried a necro for that and was nice, i could keep everyone in mele range with perma regen pluss cast a well to heal them from time to time, probably it helped to reduce dmg, but the numbers were quite low so idk how effective it was tbh….

That words only tell me one thing, you play in all MMORPG as DPS.
Actually no, my mains were a tank and a healer, and tbh the mechanics they had didnt make much diferent, it was only spaming butons in order.

how much time and mental agony is spent to accomplish the dungeon by the AVERAGE player? Really, if they are an agony why you go?? A game only function its for you to have fun! Why do the if you dont like them??
And lets say the rewards are low…. to open a chest and see all blue crap its not a lot of fun, but tbh i got the dungeon wep i wanted in a dungeon a lot faster than in others RPG (and no, not WoW, i never played it and never will). In last game i played it took me over 1 year to complete my armor set and 6 months to get the wep i wanted. Here i did AC 2 days and i allready got my wep thx to token system. So are rewards that low??
Ohh and pug runs can be great with some ppl and will be terrible with others, its a risk, sure, but it can turn awesome.

Tbh i love how dungeons are here, sure, they could make em better but im having a blast. So far i only did pug runs and guess what?? If ppl know how to play they are quite easy, even without the supposed “OP” classes. In fact my best run was with all light armor classes, we never wiped and ppl very rarely died. We didnt coordinate, we just did what everyone knew to do best and was awesome. In fact between me and the other mesmer mobs were so confused runing from 1 clone to other it was hilarious.
Ohh and the “you are forced to be at range” thing. In my experience i had the best performance going into mele and out of mele all the time. Its not that you need to stay at range, you need to stay in move, face tank all and you will sure die and you know what?? I love that also
So is it a L2P issue?? Yeah, most likely, Dont get me wrong, im not an awesome player, i still need to learn a lot, but as we all learn dungeons it become a lot easyer and fun. So far GW2 offered me a nice challenge and 2 choises, whine cos i die or learn to stay alive and be effective. The second one worked wonders for me and i cant wait to learn more and do all dungeons
Yeah as a mesmer you pretty much run a lot first, but as you lvl you get really powerfull tools from traits and utility skills, in fact some fights i stoped moving at all cos clones take all the aggro and i just pew pew with staff without any worry.
Mesmers are probably one of the classes that start the lowest but rapidly get a huge power increase as you lvl. I remember at lvls 1-30 or 40 strugling to pop out ilusions, now i have to strugle to not make them lol
Chaos storm on you if you use staff(to get aegis), dodge, stealth (if you have it moa while on stealth) and if you survived they have nothing left to use after theyr huge burst. Also phase retreat will move you back if you are knocked down, youll still be knocked but away from the thief. At least thats how average thieves work, good ones, well they are not that easy
Most thieves i saw rely completly in killing fast or run if the couldt.
Every skill that ports you can bug you in weird places or under the map. I got stucked inside mountains, under the map, and, my personal fav… inside a balista
Judges intervation, phase retreat, god even double images once all got me bugged. So basically now im paying more attention to where i am before casting any port skill, not that it helped much, but i am :P
Well, not only veterans, somedays ago i went with my mesmer to AC story mode alone and i was surprised to find i can solo mobs there if they come 1 by 1. Of course, once i opened the door and i saw 2 mobs and the traps i walked away, idk maybe i could had kiled them, but i would sure had died 20 times tryng for little to no rewards.
Next ill try a champion, but im guessing with enough room to kite mesmers can bring them down quite easy also.
On elems well, i canot say much, didnt played any over lvl 12 XP
But after some time dancing through classes im starting to think ANet cut dmg in classes with high versatility (and elems seem to have it in theory at least).
So if you can addapt and succed youll deal less dmg but youll succed. Make a pure dps char with no options other than dmg and youll get nuked before you dish it all out

Probably its a good idea to get mantra of pain in this build also, maybe instead of double images since i can create clones by dodging when im not being focused. That would mean i can heal ppl with 2 mantras (means 4 heals). So i guess later ill be logging my mesmer again lol
Im gessing ill give phantasmal defender and disenchanter another try also.
The Defender’s skill description is also wrong. It does not just effect you, it effects anyone within 600 range of it. Since it runs into melee range it means anyone else in melee range.

Tbh i find a bit funny how lots of ppl say clones will never fool anyone, yet on sPvP i see everyone going after them. Sure, they wont fool them for long, but that was never intented, they are there to give you 2 secs of time, not more. Youll say, meh 2 secs only?? Well, when ppl realize who you are then you stealth, so its another 2 secs.
Of course fighting some1 who knows what mesmers can do its a lot harder, but theres still some ways to fool them.
I dont consider myself to be the best mesmer, lol not even a good one, imh im still quite noob with the class, yet ive been able to take down 3 players a couple of times (ok, they probably sucked, but still, they were 3 Vs 1)
As every skill in the mesmer arsenal i dont think clones are there to be shatered, they are situational, just like everything else. They can fool ppl for a lil time or they can deal dmg when needed or they can make you inmune if you are getting focused.
What mesmer may lack in raw power they get in options, at least thats how i see them.
