ASProxy.dll, is causing the issue. This is not installed by the game client.
A friend of mines has this same issue. Should the ASProxy.dll be deleted? or possibly fixed by other means?
It depends on what it’s used for. If one has another program that actively uses it for some reason, then one may want to disable it. If one isn’t able to determine how it was installed, removing may be a good option. I suggest starting with disabling and progress from there.

Sadly, I’m not sure.
General suggestion concerning things like this would be to look at ones start up programs, in ones Programs and Features (or whatever is appropriate for the applications control panel in ones OS.) Worst case, it tends to go toward using a registry editor or reformatting to remove the offending program.
Thank you so much, we are gonna continue to try and delete the dll File. I also told him to reinstall and do a complete folder wipe of gw2. We will update to see if any of this works.

I have a One man guild and wanted to transfer over to another server. Will I lose my Guild Vault and its items if i was to move to another server?I heard stories about players losing their items in the guild vault after transferring since its still locked on the old server. I’m concerned and don’t want to suffer the same fate.

Very nice responses, I just wanted to see everyone thoughts on it. I’ve been playing S/D since beta for PvE and PvP.
I have a recurring question about the weapon set S/D. What is the intended purpose of the weapon-set Sword/Dagger?
Hmmm I see I like it and its counter able from the start. Good Ideas … but sadly we probably wont even see a mention of new weapons for classes for long long long time. Its ok tho while we are at it we can brain storm stuff and i can get my 2nd bolt and put away my Incinerator when I hear the news of it coming out.

I like it so far. I feel in my opinion Sword/Sword should overall be a stealth-less weapon like P/P and also be pure evade. You could make the #5 skill be like apply crippling to enemies around you for 4secs and Evade (while channeling, It would almost look like the warriors axe whirl but in a more dark way) if you are hit regen for the amount of hits received for 2secs. cast time 3/4s a second Initiative cost would be 5. This skill will be able to reflect during that time as well.
They say “IS/IR makes stomping too easy” OK then i know a simple fix that will effect everyone and not just Thief. How about if they make it so if we use any Utility’s including profession specials like "steal"specials during a stomp, it cancels out the stomp. I mean if they are nerfing just because of the way we use the return as a stomp, then why not spread it to other classes that abuse similar easy ways to stomp. Then we can revert nerf on S/X.

• Pistol Whip. Reduced the after cast on the first half of this skill by .25 seconds.
Ok you are on the right step towards a fixing but…that’s it? I’m not trying to be greedy here or anything but surely this won’t be enough to fix S/P current state. S/P needs special attention and also needs to be relooked at. I know there aren’t a lot of players who runs this weapon set due to the recent nerfs, but maybe you could relook and see what can make this weapon set more rewarding.

Infiltrator’s Return
The thing I have heard the second most discussion regarding. This is a big change to this skill, but we beleive it is a necessary one. In many cases this is not going to matter. There are only 2 situations where this is a truly impactful change.
1) It stops you from using this skill while stunned, which puts more burden on Sword/Dagger thieves saving their stun breakers. This is the kind of gameplay we want to encourage because it puts more risk in using a rewarding skill like Infiltrator’s Strike.
2) Mostly in PvP, this skill can no longer be used by S/D thieves to teleport stomp someone. This is actually the more impactful moment as it occurs more often, but I think it puts the burden on these players to run a second weapon set that can help them in these situations (OH pistol for instance.)
I honestly can’t believe this is set in stone now to be nerfed. The thief is the second most fragile class in the game that is destined to have the best mobility on the field of battle. With this nerf that statement when applying it with S/X is now false. Heck many people has already spoken out that the most mobile class is now warrior (grumble), but that is for another topic. Adding a cast time has destroyed our survivability and it’s going to be better to spam our #3 skill button to dodge these stuns. Without even seeing this is also pushing players to use the trait Hard to catch. There is so much stuns and dazes on the battlefield that it’s ridiculous. This is almost the main skill that is keeping us S/X users alive.
It seems like this is now set in stone. If we are going to add a cast time to shadow return, then I advise reducing the initiative cost by one on the return at least. This is going to change the S/X weapon-sets in such a way that it cause a giant ripple effect in changes to its play styles yet again.
This change to Infiltrator’s return is absurd… with the amount of stuns going around the battlefield and conditions, Infiltrator’s return shouldn’t even be touched. From my experience the overall biggest counter I see from most players that play s/x is bunkers , heavy conditions, and stunlockers( which will probably be changed in the next patch so maybe not). Ofc it varies from player to player but from what i have seen that is what kills s/x the most or gives it a hard time. Giving it a cast time is kitten. This will kill off s/d and s/p. I honestly don’t see what Anet wants s/x role to be anymore. They are treating this like the shadow trap nerf. This is a main hand special it doesn’t need a cast time to go back to a previous location. I agree shadow trap was over the top with its uses but the cast time was agreeable with its range of return. Infiltrator’s return has a small range of return which is fine and does not need a cast time at all. I want to know why are we nerfing this now even tho we previously nerfed it 3x already..what changed? Did we not want thief to evade at all? s/d is i want to say a balance build while s/p is more offensive with some mobility to it. I’m guessing its just the fact these weapons break stun too much and clear conditions to fast….
I’m going to guess whats going to happen when this hits. s/d , s/p will pick up hard catch to try to cope with the nerf so it may go 0/20/30/20 or 20/20/10/20 or 0/30/10/30 to counter this nerf. Who knows somebody might get creative ,but cast time on Infiltrator’s return is just going to kill it. I hate to say it but when its going to come to dodging stuns, pistol whip or flanking strike probably be more viable to dodge it than using Infiltrator’s return, if our dodge energy is gone.
In all honesty if they are going to go through with this.. then they should bring back the 5000 range in Infiltrator’s return and add two condition cleanse. If they added this in then i will be fine with this change. Even though i will still stand and say putting a cast time on Infiltrator’s return is absurd still.
If a dev would post and elaborate on the reason for this nerf, just maybe the thief community could come up with better ways to fix this with supporting feedback.
This is why I stopped crafting my legendary, can never be sure what nerfs we’ll be getting. I don’t know how I feel about this patch because I may not fully understand all of the things going on so I think I’ll wait.

Allow me to be dramatic and say I feel cornholed by A-Net for the time I spent getting my legendary sword. I have always loved sword. I hated when they took the stunbreaker off IS, but at least that made sense. This is absolutely ridiculous. If you can’t use IS to escape CC, then what is the point? Why even use a sword?
IS was the most entertaining skill on the sword bar, and now it is just ruined.
I guess I can transmute my legendary over to my warrior alt I’ll be leveling, since clearly A-Net wants everyone to play one.

this game is not a serious PvP game and should have never been advertised or treated as one.

I wont say its better, but i really miss just using it to only to evade with its low initiative cost. Still yea i can evade pretty good and now path better to my targets. I just do it less of course. Sure steal One boon.. is okish and the dmg is a welcome, but prefer to be a evasive thief that can just dish out dmg without relying on stealth. I honestly want them to just take boon steal out if they don’t want us to steal them. The so called “Boon Hate” isnt working. I would love more survival that benefits non heavy stealth users. I do agree we need something besides high amounts of dmg to be able to take down bunker classes.
Yea I did miss that post about this change on MF months ago…. oh well ill just have to wait and see then. Thanks for the advice peeps.
Thieves are fine imo. We have the best mobility in the game, so imo we shouldn’t have the best AoE. Short Bow and some of our AoE ults is fine. The weakest weapon set we have right now is sword/dagger other than that some builds that involve with daggers and pistols needs to be tweaked. We also present the highest burst dmg in the game. Which I also agree we should keep since we are almost always fragile. I just don’t agree with Extremely high damage that players cant see coming. In many cases we are still valuable in taking out High defense classes in tpvp with roaming to take other points and be able to do high burst dmg in PvE.
I a Thief from Crystal Dessert would Love to join an all thief’s guild. Id say anything but SoL and Crystal dessert. Is an good server to go to. My vote would be for Darkhaven but i guess Maguuma + 1 would be fine.
I’m not sure if anyone knows outside of the server or developers hasn’t noticed but Groups can not connect with each other and do these dungeons properly. The join option does not work also. This has been going on for 3 days now. I haven’t seen a post nor a report about this. Only dungeons I know work is HoW everything else you cant connect with a full group and do them. I transferred to see if other servers are having problems but it seems this is the only server that’s having these issues. Just wanted to throw this out there.
