I was just wondering, is there something I have to do before getting Legendary Insights? I beat Gors and VG today and didn’t get any. I haven’t run a raid in about 6 months.
—Dan Bukvich
The scoreboard that is at the top of the screen in WvW doesn’t reset after the current skirmish. It just stays stuck on the last skirmish.

I’m curious, since we’ll have many more options to choose from, will there be build saving in PoF? Similar to how the mmo RIFT uses it, out of combat, the ability to load up traitlines and utility skills just by clicking from a dropdown menu and selecting what build we want? We’d have to switch our own gear, of course, but I feel like the other side of it wouldn’t be too much to ask…I hate having to print off and write down builds and manually switch them each time…I mean, it doesn’t take a HUGE amount of time, but a minute or two here and there adds up. :P Is it going to be a feature in PoF where we may want to switch between the HoT classes and PoF classes at a rapid pace? Thanks!

I’m curious as how to go about farming the new WvW options. The rewards seem to be quite nice, and will save me from hours of farming in maps I don’t want to farm in. But how can I best achieve those rewards? Do I need to get good at roaming? Do I need to follow zergs? I tried checking the systems on the wiki/patch notes, but it all went above my head.

I am trying to become better at digital art (and just art in general, as I am quite abysmal at either), and I’ve always taken great love to the art style of GW2’s loading screens/large story cutscenes. Does anyone have any advice on how I might start improving my artistic abilities? Or perhaps getting some of the effects that are displayed in the game? I found the wiki page and have been looking through Kekai’s work, and it’s extraordinary, but I cannot even begin to imagine how to make art like that.

Not sure about that Sly…
I run p/d which does stealth, including before engage. But I’m not sure what is being discussed because “appears next to me” and “suddenly there are a lot of conditions on me” leaves out some crucial information.
For example, is there a projectile? Are they using dagger? Is there an animation? Is there a field (like poison)?
I don’t normally notice, sadly, just that I’m dead with a ton of condis. Sometimes they’re using d/d 3, sometimes there’s poison, other times it’s inexplicable by my standards. :P

No Thief Condi build oneshots any actual WvW build…….
I’m running full Dire armor, although my trinkets are still a little weird.
—Dan Bukvich
Not sure about “everyone” but if you describe what they do (weapons, moves, etc) I might be able to help.
Well, they turn invisible for a few seconds, then appear near me, and I suddenly have 10-20 stacks of various conditions on me which kills me within a second or two.
—Dan Bukvich
I was wondering if I could get the condi wvw build that everyone is oneshotting me with. :/ and maybe a few quick tips on how to use it?

I know that there are players out there with nearly every legendary. I also know that to get that many takes a tremendous amount of gold. I also see in youtube videos, players who have 55,000 gold in their wallet. I know that through Silverwastes and Fractal 40, etc, there’s no way to make that kind of money unless you played 10 hours a day since the game came out. I also would like to think they didn’t make that kind of money by spending gems…I know it’s probably from the trade post, and I’ve found multiple guides that are supposed to show you how to use it effectively, but I’ve never used it to any good ends. Does anyone have some ideas for me on how to start making money faster now that I’m past the “beginner” stages of the game? (I have almost 1,000 hours on record, and less than 100 gold, though that should change once I finish the Bifrost).
—Dan Bukvich
Promoting Large Fangs to Vicious Fangs does not work. As soon as Vicious Fang goes in the forge, everything becomes greyed out!
—Dan Bukvich
Is there a way to report players for things that aren’t in the standard reporting list? Abuse of kick system before rewards is specific and has happened on a few occasions where guildies kick the one non guildie right before a mission ends, and I think this is particularly bull*.
—Dan Bukvich
I’m running into situations where, simply because of my Mastery Point ranking (124), people are immediately discounting me from raids, wvw commanding, high level fractals, and even attempting to stop me from giving general advice and information out over map chat. I don’t know how people are finding out stats about my account (as I was too far away from them to be selected), but it seems that with my Achievement score of 6,500 or so and my mastery point score of 124, no matter the extensive hours of research and calculation, no matter the extensive amounts of testing and theorizing I have done, my ability will immediately be discounted, as I am kicked from raids, kicked from fractals, and shut down by new players who happen to have more mastery points than me.
My main question is, what is an easy series of mastery points to get? I have been working on collecting the strongboxes in the various HoT maps and I am playing through the story to grab any mastery points hidden in there. What are the easiest things I can do to get to that magic 186 number? Thanks in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
So I’m working on getting into raiding. My personal method of remembering my rotation is writing down the specific keybinds they’re attached to. I was wondering what everyone else’s methods are.
—Dan Bukvich
So I just found out today that running through just a few coral nodes on a character can net me up to 2g. I was wondering, what other seemingly “random” tasks like this put out money in this quantity?
—Dan Bukvich
I’m currently in the third tier of the legend (and still regretting not just buying the pre, as the time you spend farming stupid stuff makes crafting the precursor SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive), and I’m looking for blue oozes/other pigment dropping enemies. Any location I’ve gone to to farm them however, only has two oozes. Can anyone tell me where I can find more? The wiki was of no help.
—Dan Bukvich
So for my next section of the Bifrost, they have me farming endless amounts of gathering nodes it seems. I was curious, how can I do this rapidly? I have the gathering maps, and I have a thief that’s almost level 80. I know that they can move around pretty quickly. Is there a build that allows for REALLY fast travel speed on a thief?
—Dan Bukvich
Quantify suggests having a full set of attribute infusions for the “Meta” build. This means every single infusion slot, maxed out with a +5 power +9 agony resist infusion. My question is, is that really worth it? Is that microscopic gain in power actually worth it compared to the amount of time and effort and money you have to put into getting the +9 Mighty infusions over the regular +9s?
—Dan Bukvich
You better ask this on mesmer subforum and to be honest there are no such thing like perma stealth for mesmer, let say permastealth Thief alone is broken enough.
Anh why do you even need stealth for SW maze anyway ?
I’m not entirely sure, because I do fairly decently just using the flowers, but I hear people complaining about mesmers and thieves all the time beating them to the pods because they’re so fast…I want to be that person that beats them to the pods. ;D
—Dan Bukvich
So I don’t really have time to level up my thief, and I want to run the maze in SW with a permastealth build. I already have a level 80 mesmer. Could somebody help me create a permastealth mesmer? I currently have full ascended zerker armor, and I’m trying to get runes of leadership for my meta build. Superior Sigil of Concentration and 2x Force Sigils are installed in my weapons already. Thanks in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
I am in the middle of crafting the Bifrost. Can I get rid of all those star fragments I ran around and collected? And the Defender of Ascalon as well?
—Dan Bukvich
I always get my mats from silverwaste farming. Silverwaste event farming will get you bag of masterwork gear which, when opened, will gives you 3 green or yellow gears. Open them with level 48-53 toon, then salvage those gears that is listed lower than 10 silvers on TP.
I would, but I can’t really play for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. :/
—Dan Bukvich
It depends a bit on which mats interest you.
- Cloth: cotton + linen drops most often from salvaging materials of L37-59
- Leather: coarse + rugged drops more from L31-59
- Metal: Iron + plat from L21-45
- Wood: Seasoned + Hard from L37-L59
However, personally I find visiting specific zones to be the most tedious and least efficient farming. What I do instead is:
- I open champion bags on an L53 toon (which is in the tier 4 range, as you can see above). I either use the mats or sell them to fund other interests.
- For fun, I do anything else other than farming: if you play, you earn loots; sell the loots for coin; use the coin to buy stuff you need.
I wish that were an option for me, but since I can only play for maybe 10 minutes at a time, it’s really my only option.
—Dan Bukvich
So I am insane and I want to run around the map with my gathering tools netting myself T3 and T4 materials for crafting. How do I know which zones have these? Is it a certain level range, like the 40-50 maps? Or is it something else?
—Dan Bukvich
Do SW events to open non-exotic bags on low level alt
http://silverwastes.loltools.net/Take a permastealth mesmer/thief to farm pods in the labyrinth and use your Greater Nightmare Key when the event reach the 3rd tier.
If you make a lfg group for the lab it’s more easy!
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Find_and_open_nightmare_pods_within_the_Tangled_LabyrinthCould you elaborate on how to get a permastealth thief? And also, I thought that the final chest’s event level had no impact on the actual reward? :O Does it now?
Labyrinth (Tier 3) gives you more bags, more currency and Empyreal Fragments
If you pick Deceptions skill and ShadowArt it’s more easy:
-You regain more Initiative while stealthed
-You stealth while ressing your mates and ress faster
-You blind enemy while downed
-You run faster while stealthed
-You can share stealth via Shadow Refuge and Blinding Powder
-You can stealth with 6, 7, 8 skill slot
-Combo stealth: Combo Field (smoke) + Blast (AoE) + Leap (on self)MetabattleBlack Powder will be your source of stealth – combo it with Heartseeker for self stealthing, shortbow’s Cluster Bomb for AoE stealth, or Blinding Powder for almost instant AoE stealth.
Oh man…that’ll take me a while. XD what about a permastealth mesmer? Sorry for all the questions, but your responses really do help me a ton!
—Dan Bukvich
Outside of Wintersday, probably farming kills in Ember Bay with the T3 karma buff from unbound magic vendor.
That sounds even less exciting than EOTM farming… _
darn, that’s unfortunate…thank you though!
—Dan Bukvich
I was just wondering, after all the changes that have been made over time, what’s the best way to make Karma now?

I was just wondering if I’d get in trouble for using SweetFX to boost the graphics of GW2…
—Dan Bukvich
Thought players moved back to SW after AB Multi was shut down. There’s always gathering and selling higher priced, high in demand mats.
How do I know what’s high in demand? Is it just always T4 mats?
—Dan Bukvich
So, as usual, as the game moves on, the old ways of making money become obsolete. Auric Basin got shut down, SW died…I was just wondering, what are some of the new ways to make money in GW2, besides converting gems to gold?
—Dan Bukvich
Is there a particular reason why we don’t have a saved loadout function yet? Like, for my scepter/focus on my ele, I prefer a different set of heals/utilities/traits/elites/specs than I do when I have a staff. Why can’t we just save entire sets to swap in and out when not in combat, similar to what Rift has? I’m just curious, because it would be impossibly more convenient.
—Dan Bukvich
So I am working on a daily checklist for the game that includes all of the things that you can only do once a day. Right now, I have these things:
Crafting:
Glob of Elder Spirit Residue
Lump of Mithrillium
Spool of Silk Weaving Thread
Spool of Thick Elonian Cord
Charged Quartz Crystal
Farming:
Home Instance Farm
Guild Hall Farm
Pact Supply Network Agent
Achievements:
Daily Achievements
Daily Bloodstone Fen
Daily Ember Bay
Daily Bitterfrost Frontier
I was wondering if there is anything else that should be on this checklist. Thanks in advance! I’ll be updating it as I get responses, and I’m not putting festival things on here, though feel free to mention daily activities from those for separate checklists!

So my computer is out of space, and I was wondering if there was a way to put the data files from GW2 onto my Seagate External Hard Drive and still play it from there. Thanks in advance!

When we try to run pvp guild missions, the progress isn’t counting for us….there are three of us queued to play together, so we have the minimum. Can anyone walk me through the process to make sure that it works? Thanks in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
I was wondering, how might I go about gearing up for raiding as an ele? I can’t afford scholar runes and stuff…so I’m kinda stuck. :/
—Dan Bukvich
Hello! I am an experienced player and wvwer whose guild moved to Gates of Madness. I would like to join a WvW Guild that is on Anvil Rock.
—Dan Bukvich
So I know that opening certain bags yields a better return when they’re on a character somewhere in between kitten…in fact, there is a website that calculates the most profitable level. However, I do not know WHICH bags to open on what character. Some of them are affected by magic find, so those I am GUESSING are best saved for a level 80, with 5 stacks of perseverance in the Silverwastes, along with Hero of the Wastes…and then there are the bags with white text, green text, bag of rare gear, bag of gear, bag of sandy gear…the list goes on and on and on, and this doesn’t just go for the silverwastes. I get bags from everything, whether it’s SW, the HoT maps, or even just fighting world bosses/other champs out in Tyria. My question is, which bags should I be opening on what level, and when should I be opening them? Thank you in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
So, I have never really used consumables in this game, but I know that they surely must give an edge…I was wondering what ones would be viable to use across all my characters to be placed in a shared inventory slot. Which would be the best ones, AND which ones would be the best for the price as well, since I can’t afford the fanciest food/sharpening stones…
—Dan Bukvich
I know this is a question you see quite often, but since the situation is different for everyone, I would like your guys’ opinion as well. I have recently acquired about 4k gems, and I don’t know what to spend them on at the moment. I don’t know how to track when things will go on sale, etc., so it’s hard to decide…Here’s what I already have:
Character Slots: 9 (I am an altoholic, so one for each class)
1 Storage Expander (500 mat stack in bank)
Bobblehead Laboratory
Copperfed Salvage-o-Matic
So since I am an altoholic as mentioned above, I play so many different characters that I can’t imagine the infinite gathering tools being something useful to me, without spending money on both them AND the shared inven slots. So I’m going to pass on them…aside from that, I’ve looked at bank space, more mat storage, shared inven slots, or the Crystal Savant Outfit. Are there any other things that you think would be good options for me? Thank you in advance!
And if there is any other information that you need to know about me in order to offer advice, just ask, and I will update it.
—Dan Bukvich
This is great!

I know that there are a few kinds of bags and chests that I should save to open on a level kitten character to maximize profit from it…I was just wondering, which bags/chests are they? There are ones from Verdant Brink, Silverwastes, Auric Basin, Dragon’s Stand, Tangled Depths, and pretty much everywhere else in the game….which ones actually give different output based on what level you open them at? Thank in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
I just discovered that some of the things you can buy with Airship Parts (and presumably other HoT currencies) can be worth extensive amounts of money…I was wondering if there is a method to make them more efficiently that I am missing….Thank you in advance!

Now that the participation changes no longer affect your rewards during nighttime…what is the point of doing daytiem events in Verdant Brink? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to only rotate over there are night? And then move to Auric Basin, Silverwastes, etc?
—Dan Bukvich
I heard that the Heart of Thorns maps are very good for making money, even in comparison to the Silverwastes (which are somewhat dead nowadays). I played a while ago, when Verdant Brink still had the whole “daytime” and “nighttime” participation. Now it looks like daytime participation has been removed, and I’m not sure what other mechanics have changed….
The other maps I have no experience with at all yet. Auric Basin I have at least traveled around in, and I have heard that it’s the greatest money with some LFG multiple instance chest opening thing that I can’t ever seem to find…and the other two maps are just way over my head at this point…I was wondering if anybody could give me a hand on learning the new content, or could at least point me towards some VERY informative guides, as the guides that I have found so far have been very lackluster. :/ Thank you in advance!

Due to events in my life, I wasn’t able to play consistently this year, and I am no longer able to get the Ascension by the current method. Can somebody please tell me what that new method will be next year? Thanks in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
I want to find a team/guild that I can play with when the next pvp season starts so that progress to the Ascension will not be laced with awful matchmaking setups…thank you in advance!
—Dan Bukvich
Hello! I am hoping to get advice on how to save my poor mouse buttons when opening bags from the SW and other places…it would be so easy to just run a macro to click a ton, but it sounds like that is banned in this game. so what can I do to save my mouse buttons on my nice new mouse? Thank you in advance!

Hello! I am an experienced player looking for a PvP Guild that will have members who are willing to team up with me and play in the PvP arenas. I always end up running into premades, and I think it looks like fun to play with friends. Plus, they absolutely slaughter us. :P
