I would prefer clipping

I am wearing feather wing backpack paired with my light legendary armor, and the backpiece could be moved a little closer without much clipping issues.

This thread again. There’s no need to remove the daily cap, as it keeps the leaderboards somewhat interesting, or if it was to be removed, the leaderboards should be sorted by permanent AP value. It also retains some prestige on achievement reward skins. Anet should rather add more achievements to the game, than raise the cap.

Here are my thoughts on this matter:

I see the reason why dailies award AP. It incentivizes to log in to progress your account every day. But on the other hand, even with cap in place, it devalues the real achievements in the game.

For a long time, I have been an avid achievement hunter and have done pretty much every permanent achievement that isn’t too grindy or money consuming for my tastes. But, believe or not, I only hit the cap on dailies yesterday. Not that I would have wanted to hit it earlier, but two years ago I had to go through my conscript service so I missed a lot of dailies (and a few LS 1 achievements).

So this lead to that people, who are lazier than me on achievement hunting, still get an edge on me for TWO years, just because the dailies award achievement points. And for all those two years, I still had more permanent achievement points that any of them, but I was behind in totals just because of dailies. Talk about devaluing the work permanent achievements require. But I waited and now am sitting comfortably at 31,3k, over 2k higher than my rival guildmates.

So, I for one, would not mind seeing daily achievement points gone altogether (should not have awarded any in the first place, but I guess having a cap on them is the best we will get) and permanent AP values doubled.

I think the cap is fine, although I may be biased.

With the cap in place, permanent AP is meaningful if you are trying to compete on leaderboards. If you miss a day, you can get it back later. I was in conscript service for 8½ months, thus missing ~150 dailies. As an avid achievement hunter it would hurt me severely if there was no cap on daily points. I am currently at 29,956 points and with the cap in place my total AP potential currently is 30,889 with 94 days before capping out. This will land me in top 150 when I hit it.

So it’s not always the new players that are missing out on dailies. Even vets can miss out days and if daily was not to be capped, even they would never catch up to their true potential.

My awfully pampered ranger gets all the good stuff. 3 gearsets and all the leggies.

Just a shy over 9000 hours. Being out of work since graduation works wonders. I did have mandatory conscript service for 8 months with time to play only on selected weekends, but not much else to distract me from playing besides few musical activities a week.

Got the glint’s bastion and most of mistward armor now. Fits sylvari very nicely.

Some of these are pretty cool. But especially this reference back to original Guild Wars.

I’ve had quite some succes with this build. Yesterday I used Marauder amulet and hoelbrak runes, keeping up decent might from UA, upkeeps and F2. Now I switched to Valkyrie amulet for more health and with Roiling Mists and Runes of rage/pack you can keep your critical chance between 40-50% with fury. With pack you have more power, rage gives 5% modifier.

Keeping elements/strength/darkness on out of combat stacks boons, using F2 before engaging and active from elements/strength for damage. If you run out of survivability on glint, switch to jalis extra heals/damage reduction. Shield and staff will also help you survive. Glint actives/boons and sword are your damage sources.

Don’t know if this has been brought up somewhere, but I only recently had this idea. As of now, you need to aim the skill with your camera. Turning your camera around in hectic fights just to land one skill properly doesn’t feel right.

What if Surge of the Mists would take your target and charge towards it. Or even better, let us aim it like warrior’s whirlwind attack.
This would be incredibly useful in situations where you are cornered or your camera angles are otherwise limited.

The lack of sylvari is disturbing.

I feel like a scrub. But full collection is full collection. Also rings, additional skins, boxes and relics.

Probably Xanthium from aetherpath end chest, which sold for more than any of the precursors I’ve got from mystic forge. 7k hours here, altough luck started to kick in after 5-6k hours.

I have all classes to lvl 80, 2 low lvl chars and 1 slot for keyruns.

Ele, ranger, war, guard, mesmer and thief are geared full ascended for fractals and dungeons. I also may do pvp with any of them but thief.

Necro has exo zerks if I feel like going dungeons with it. Mostly used for pvp.

Lvl 80 engi and lvl 25 engi are storing my 200 ascended rings, and I don’t use them for anything else.

Lvl 20 ranger for storing other account bound loot and condi build for pvp.

This thread needs more elegance, less bikinis.

I have gotten back to gw1 for a few times to gather more points in hall. When gw2 launched I was in 35 points. Then got back to get 5 more, then 5 more again. Now I received some generous aid and got rest of minipets and over half of materials for obsidian armor to reach 50 points in hall of monuments. I still have about 80 maps to vanquish but I’m determined

I have opened at least 30+ stacks (lost count) in search on aquabreather. But I’m not even mad, because i’m getting some profit (maybe more if I save the rare stuff for future) and it’s insanely good and cheap way to get luck.

After more than 2 years, I set my ranger free from the trenchcoats.

I haven’t even paid attention to such minor “flaw”. It’s perfectly good as it is. On the other hand, we should be more vocal about Rodgort’s footsteps. They are so small (and don’t last very long). I would like them to be closer in incinerator.

- I still use orbs, not runes, unless they are vital for survival (wvw). Mainly because runes are expensive.

- On the other hand, I spare no expense in outfitting my characters in expensive skins/legendaries.

- When nearing completion of legendary/other expensive skins, I feel like selling my mother just to complete it on instant.

- I know I could do just fine in full zerker, but I still have pieces of equipment like knight/valkyrie from time I was still learning.

- I have 1 slot for rolling a character that I just level up to 80 to get black lion keys and other map/story rewards.

- Of my 8 characters, I only play 5. All characters I don’t play are male. Those that I do play are female, except for asura warrior.

- I love hunting achievements. Unless they are dailies that force me to PvP or WvW, or require too much grind (WvW, weapon master).

- I use weapons that are not meta in dungeons (ranger with legendary torch).

- I have over 1000 hrs more in gw2 than gw1 (played it since -05). Now I feel sad for not playing more gw1 and cannot bother to get gwamm or 50 HoM points anymore.

- To all the hoarders: I usually sell my materials 2-3 times a week. (Except for ectos and t6).

This is a far fetch, but seems like he’s been having some elonian wine (technically not a spirit) and wine can be in cylindical package.

Why do people constantly compare GW 2 to other games, mostly WoW and GW 1(which, in first place, wasn’t even an mmo)

Because every game is a different. Some games allow for faster developing of content than others.

Also, think of yourself doing some important schoolwork. Then people start gathering behind your back all trying to tell you how you should do your schoolwork.
Now think a game developer doing his developing. He reads the forums full of messages telling him how he should do his job.
Now try to put yourself in that situation and think for a second if people behind your shoulder constantly telling you how to do something is helping you do anything.

It’s a secret, but I have crafted Mystic Battleaxes. They take 50 points and ~3g. You can sell them for ~9g or salvage with Black Lion kit for superior Bloodlust and ectos.

Congratulations! Very impressive feat with only 4,5k hrs. Investments must
have saved a lot of time. I have 4,9k hrs with just my 4th legendary
on the way. I feel like I’ve been procrastinating :/ (literally squeezing money

Well, I got like 30 free charges from PvP rank, so just decided to put them to use as I have nothing to transmute on my lvl 80 characters right now. Also I’m gonna get some charges on my way leveling anyway

Now with the wardrobe online, I can finally level up my characters without being shamed of their look \o/.
Anyone else putting fancy skins on leveling gear?

How about Toughness/vitality/healing power? Possibly in other order for maximum tankyness.

1. Salvagable ascended rings
2. Kittenload of new skills and skill types (bring back hexes/enchantments)
3. New races and professions (Quaggan ritualist, anyone?=
4. Expansions with better storytelling (no traherarne/talking head cutscenes)
5. More PvP game modes (for example annihilation/kill count like in gw1)

Sniper. if you had hoarded from long time, by which I mean before December 10th patch, I guess the armor obtained before that patch might not yield insignias. Or you kit was just broken.

MF is unpredictable. I consider myself rather lucky with it. Once I was desperate and really wanted to get The Bifrost some day, so I threw exotics worth of 180g to forge and got The Legend.
Second time I ran nodes to finance crafting a lot of rare greatswords (so cheap). I put the rares in the forge and hoped for exotics. Then I put the exotics in the forge for bigger chance to get precursor. After few days I pulled out Dawn, which I sold to get money for Dusk.

From these 2 ways to play with forge, I suggest the latter. Pour in your wealth little by little, so you will never be left broke.

Inscription is a crafting component. If you want weapon with specific stats (specific inscription) you must either craft a weapon with that inscription or buy a weapon with that inscription from trading post. If you want to change the stats (inscription) of weapon, you need to transmute it to another weapon with the stats (inscription) you want.

My fire ranger updated: new hair and glow color. And she now sports more flame than ever before with the flamewalker coat.

Just added more fire to my ranger’s look. Isn’t fun for sylvari (a tree) to be on fire?

Watched the guide and tried this out in hotjoin. It worked surprisingly well. I main staff ele in PvE and WvW, but never considered it as an option in PvP for some reason. At first I tought this build would lack too much condition removal, as I’m used to cleasing wave, but I survived them pretty well. And the viability of Lava Axe surprised me even more than staff

This post has really seen a lot of work. Seems like you’ve almost done all the work for Anet. With the skill ideas you suggest, Ritualist will be viable in both support and damage (direct and condition) when equipped with right skills.

I guess that the Item Spells which consume mana overtime are slowed by natural mana regeneration. You said it regenerates 200 per every 1/4 seconds but the Fan of Lee Sa the Lively costs the same as natural regenerations, so guess it could be hold infinitely. Or even regenerate same time with the passive Signet. Definitely better than just ‘casnt-n-drop’ function in original Guild Wars.

I was bit confused of some Rifts replacing enemy skills, but it seems like a nice idea.
The spirits are well thought and the special abilities of soulbound spirit gives extra spice. Would like to hear more of the Channeler mode and it’s skills.

Time for a little update. Just finished Dwayna backpiece after getting ascended armors.
Also, ascended trident had not been pictured yet by me or anybody else for that matter.

P.S. Would like to see more underwater pics of eles. Some of you gotta have cool tridents.

I think the “exploiting” or “skipping” of the first 2 buttons, is to get all 5 players directly in to console room. When you get to higher levels, 5 players are necessary to survive there.

If you do it the legit way you have 3 people go in, then fourth after a short while if the one on second button manages to stay alive that long. Then the fifth player must wait until the both buttons in console room are pressed. So, you have to clear most of the dredge with 3 or 4 people. I wish it wasn’t a problem, as wiping is an option even with team of 5.

And what did they do to that “veteran” there? It now has a health pool of at least a champion. I just don’t know what Anet was thinking with their “fixes”.

They gave us money to daily reward, so it’s only justified to lower the skin drop rate. No, really, please give us back at least the old f48 drop rate. And ascended weapons/armors could be a bit more common too. If you’d remove rings from loot tables to make room for other rewards? Or you’d always get at least ring?

P.S: Please fix dredge. For real this time.

Let’s say that I have an infused backpiece and an uninfused backpiece. Do I need to select the skin or the stats of the infused backpiece to transmute the additional infusion slot, or will it disappear in the process and I would need to infuse the outcoming product?

Not bad, I do like the idea of defeating bosses something prestigious items.
Did I get it right, and you have to kill every boss to get precursor of your choice? Or just the corresponding boss of the precursor? Only 1 boss seems a bit little.

Btw, you may have put more thought in this than Anet on any of their bosses.

Or if they would introduce “gifting” ability to account bound loot. Can’t sell, but can do charity for your friends.
Also, guess there will be no other use than salvage for pre-patch fractal weapons? How about vendor to convert them to skins?

I’ve been wondering, how top AP players feel of doing every daily everyday. I would not have any fun in this game if I spent hours getting those little 1 AP achievements. If the cap for dailies is needed, I will support it.
I consider myself as an achievement hunter of some kind (13,4k AP), but I only go for LS achievements, permanent achievements and monthlies.
I rarely bother with PvP daily for other than monthly and I do more than 5 dailies if they come while playing stuff I enjoy or are otherwise done in minutes .

Lvl 39 dredge is beyond ridiculous, when they die, they explode on your face and you fly and die because you are out of stun breaks.

Not a bad idea, and could be useful for WvW.

Not concerned of regular mats, but the ascended mats. If Anet really wants us to craft them, make them cost 1 or max 2 bloodstone brick/dragonite ore/empyreal star per piece. If it costs more of those per piece (especially dragonite), man, they’re gonna lose their transmutation crystal money.
