Just replied to another thread, and the thread now results in a reply box, not the thread. Changed browsers, rebooted no luck.
If it helps any needing COT, they can hit us up in game, “Tyrian Mystical Tours [PORT]”. We can escort or port people through it.
Tried in reply to a few threads and I see “Sorry, this area isn’t available yet. Please check back later. Try going back home?”
O.o?
Cannot add image, keeps showing : “Sorry, this area isn’t available yet. Please check back later. Try going back home?”
Gw1 was a Co-Op, Gw2 is an MMO. Heroes won’t work.
We have some really nice GH’s and a new one coming (Windswept Haven), and I have an idea for a new one. LABYRINTHE! (Festival of the 4 winds area). The area is developed, and would only need to be polished and certain aspects removed, but OMG it would be awesome! As much as I and many others want it back, it isn’t showing any signs of happening. Soooo this would be the next best thing.
I can reach 14327260 with my thief in bloodstone map.
Probably can reach higher than you if I go warrior and sentinel armor, but would I really wanna do that??Hmmm.
You don’t need warrior.
Never thought that anyone else would do this.
Edit: 27,399,496 is the highest i reach in bloodstone fen with shaman equip.
Nice! I now will see if I can top it! I love this game!
Now that I know why I saw the holo-dragon, I might not finish that part of the story. I like her appearing. If I had a wish, it would be to bring Taimi to the egg chamber, and let her and Aurene, play.
My Ele: Yvonne Skyfyre. She uses Dwaynas Staff, which inspired the colorscheme.
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
Guildy answered, it’s Aurene
We have a crazy competition in our guild of who can achieve the most fall damage. I just hit 21 mil, but my question is, what is the holo dragon nearby? I’m in a valley under “Silent woods” I dropped from a tree near the POI.
Questions:
1) Will it max at 69, or will the cap be raised?
2) Will all decorations carry over if we swap?
3) Does it have multiple layers like Gilded Hollow?
4) Will it be roughly the same costs upgrading, or is it increased?
We just maxed our GH and are talking about a second spin off guild OR a swap. Very excited, the new one looks amazing!
TLDR; Slowing game progression is common in mmo’s. Otherwise players blow thru the new content in a few days and leave again. Nothing new. Same with gear gating etc. Players need carrots to chase or they get bored.
If you don’t like mounts, don’t bother with them. Personally I want dino’s that seat 20 like in the Flintstones lol
Base Ranger = standard for the Viper’s Build, which, naturally, does not use the Druid trait line.
@OP: The title cracked me up, really sweet tribute to Gaile.
Gaile is a treasure from GW1 Game wouldn’t be the same without her.. AND FROGGY!
Well, she is to many of us! TY for all you do Gaile it wouldn’t be a PORTing party if you didn’t happen by
I love your guild! You are all so helpful thank you for all the ports
Aww Thanks! They (Guild Members) are a fun bunch!
Well, she is to many of us! TY for all you do Gaile it wouldn’t be a PORTing party if you didn’t happen by
TLDR;
Unless something drastically changes, some classes can solo, some cannot. It usually comes down to build and wrench time in learning your class. That said, if you do not have the masteries (MP/HP) for the transportation skills, gliding, thermal prop, oakheart? You may feel left behind. It really comes down to the amount of time you are willing to invest now to be ready. If you feel the old walk everywhere is good enough, then cya when it launches
Yes, no, maybe so?
Well, many Commanders that run event trains say it’s like herding cats so… This was inevitable.
Interesting mock up to show the possible size of Primordus.

I think from a writing standpoint all that has been said in game is that we cannot kill them. That to me suggests they may be integral to the story and a stumbling block. They rise up, threaten the 6, we back them because killing them will destroy Tyria. But… Killing or defeating the 6 will cause a social vacuum and cause a split in Tyrian society. “What do we believe in now?” “Life is meaningless..” etc. Which would degrade into a struggle for new “deities” to rise or be “created”. All which is too much of a hotbed for the game to delve into imho. They will always offend more then they appease, as calling to mind players own beliefs is inevitable, and some will transpose them on the game. And ummm map chat is toxic enough at times. TYVM.
So.. where do we go from here?
It’s been speculated the 6 might have gained their abilities via bloodstones or ley-lines etc. Hell Asuran tech may have given them their “powers” which is why Balth wanted Omadds machine. I like to imagine they did and the Elder Dragons are trying to stop them, or at the least two toughest kids on the block, are going to fight sooner or later. Or perhaps a Mad Eye Mooney/Bartie Crouch revelation that Scarlet, Omadd etc was all orchestrated by Balthazar and/or Abbaddon. Just please, no more Shiro okay? Unless it takes us to Cantha lol
WOW has one big connection to GW1/GW2. Anet was founded by 3 former devs at Blizzard. From there they share nothing in common imho.
Actually we’ve been pining for guild capes since the start.
You have capes now, we call them back pieces.. lol
If I can Yoshi-bounce off my Springer to go into glider mode, that’d be kittening shweeeet.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one thinking that.
Oh yeah, the moment I saw those giant bunnies jumping high into the air I thought…..jump…glide….sweet!
The question is if they will let us do combos like that.
Palawa will yell “PULL” and you are launched from your valiant rabbit as squads of arrows fly your way.. stay tuned lol
@Djinn: It’s difficult to properly respond when we haven’t played the game yet. I can’t imagine dismounting is any more difficult that pressing a key. So now it’ll be <dismount key> + <jump key> rather than just <jump key>. Is that really a big deal?
I’m not asking for experience. Perhaps you aren’t familiar with running across the map jumping & gliding as you go. It’s very fun. But all it requires is pressing your space bar as you go. Like hyperactive people who like just jumping as they run. It is seamless.
What you are describing isn’t a big deal and I never said my question was a big deal, but it isn’t exactly seamless either.
Don’t use your mount, run and glide all you want. Not sure what the big deal is. Gliding should work the same it always does. If you’re mounted it won’t but you won’t have to be on your mount all the time. There’ll be chasms you have to jump maybe, so you jump on your mount, jump the chasm and then run and glide again. It’s like using a jumping mushroom or anything else.
Wonder if we can jump with a mount, then dismount mid way and glide? Also another thing I overlooked. Day 1 we won’t all have mounts but will need to progress thru the new areas, so we may see oakheart, thermal prop, Skritt tunnels etc.. Ok, excited.. lol
I know that a lot of people are very excited about the introduction of Mounts in GW2, but I really enjoy gliding. If I’m riding a mount, I’m not gliding so I’m not sure I’m so excited about mounts myself. I enjoy running up a hill or mountain and getting somewhere by gliding.
How do you feel about mounts vs. gliding?
Without having tested the mounts and only the trailer to judge by, they appear to either walk, or hover above the ground. I was hoping for a real flying mount, and yes, a Dragon or perhaps a Wyvern. But, to be honest with gliding and updrafts, I just love gliding. My favorite passtime is finding new places to jump from. Love VB, all the updrafts and just exploring. I can’t even imagine playing any other game, that would not offer the same freedom.
That said, I have a feeling places to jump from will be limited in the new EXP. Why? Mounts are a selling point. A new item to obtain, unlock, w/e. It seems unlikely we can get to all the various places just gliding. But I truely hope I’m wrong. I really want to glide through the new places, land on tricky perches and just set my own pace. It is (to me) the most relaxing and enjoyable thing I do in game. Whether I am using oakheart to get to the top of our guild hall so I can glide around on the way down, or in the new area completing Dwaynas missions with the poison clouds, any excuse and I am airborn and I really am happy. Sounds crazy I guess, but well you asked lol
Doesn’t sound crazy – I just enjoy gliding as I go from place to place. Running down a road I go a bit off the road and find a hill or something to jump from. I guess we’ll see how much gliding travel is possible in the new expansion.
I have played Lotro and had a stable of horses, but exploring was limited by mobs. With gliding, well the sky, is the limit
P.S. it’s the desert, will we be able to ride the Junundu?
Lol, there are 4 mounts in the videos and non of them is a wurm.
Actually after remembering how we travelled via Junundu, we were swallowed and spat out lol, so um.. prolly just as well. Lol

We need Vabbian Armor from gw1. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Paragon_Vabbian_armor
Attachment is my attempt at paragon in gw2

Seriously, good luck. Despite my many disagreements with various things, you guys are a great company with a great product. I’ve been with you since the early days of GW1 and it meant a lot to me when I heard about the release GW2. You guys deserve a solid win.
./swordsalute +1
P.S. Whatever works for other Mesmers is fine, it’s their time in game. I just get so tired of all the focus on being uber, knowing every rotation, playing the game so rigidly they can’t be enjoying it. Our guild does lots of testing too. Just the other day we had a contest to see who could hit the highest damage (8 mil so far) when they dropped from the top of the guild hall. We play hide and seek, and whatever sillyness we can think of. We help others, in and out of the guild master their characters, will drop what we are doing and go to help a guildy. We’re Mesmers, we ’re not normal
And we like it that way
That’s all fine, feel free to play how you want, but don’t get surprised and offended when you get laughed at for jumping into a conversation about actual mechanics with “oh don’t be so serious about being good, just have fun being bad
”.
ROFLMAO…

I just tried whatever came to mind actually and saw my clone losing health, so figured “ok that works keep doing it”. Will try talking when I run my alts through.
People say Mesmer is a support class only. I think that is not accurate, I play my Mes and take the Commander position alot. I have 2, Norn and Sylvari. My Sylvari is my favorite. She is fast and very agile, we can’t stand still so the quicknesx of the Sylvari comes in handy. I always look for a perch or rock to fight from, and use Phants etc, this frees me to direct my squad. I normally run Berserker, with Chrono runes, but I got interested in DS armor so now I use chest and leggings from DS and the rest Temple of Grenth Berserker. I last a lot longer now with the added health. I use Chorbens Greatsword since I prefer ranged, and an exotic zerker staff until I get another Ascended chest from Teq lol
I really think some wanting more dps really don’t put the wrench time in learning how to fight and stay alive. Mesmers are deceptively dangerous, you just need a game plan. I used to hate running around DS now I love it, Mordrem only catch a glimpse of me, then they wonder what hit them.
To be fair though, I was a runner on my Assassin in GW1, getting around mobs is second nature now.
You are providing subjective evidence to a factual disscussion.
Here the damage rotations and builds of one of the top raids guilds:
http://qtfy.eu/benchmarks/The next step for you is to test your build, see if you can outperform top tier players in their class, if so share your build and findings with the community.
No one is talking about open world, dungeons or wvw which are absolutely meaningless (and you’d still be miles behind top tier dps classes). This is a raid/fractal top tier disscussion where classes are pushed to their peak performance.
Install a damage meter like bgdm or arcdps (better use bgdm) and actually log your damage rotations. No one cares about subjective “I am great” stories. Back them up with data please.
Also by support class people mean the actual support role withine a group setting. Being commander or not has nothing to do with this. I’ve commanded open world and raids on multiple characters including my mesmer, that’s not what people mean by role though.
You can calculate minutae, or enjoy the game. Ignore stats, ignore, specs, and play. You’ll be much happier. Mesmer won’t be click click boom, who cares? Learn to play and stay alive, stop blaming the class.
Happier? Maybe. You’ll also be bad.
I enjoy being a good player. I enjoy contributing to my party or squad. I enjoy completing challenging content. If I played like you play, I’d get kicked from every single squad without a second thought, and then I wouldn’t be happy.
You would not get invited to our squads, elitest players not allowed :P. If you want to feel at home go to SWTOR, you must prove via achs if you can run with the big dogs. Hopeless waste of time imho but some judge their value by in game accomplishments. We’d rather have fun and be silly in voice chat and still finish what we started. To each their own, but you really are taking it far too seriously. But don’t take my word for it, ask our 213+ members, all Mesmers

I am editing this post because I figured out the trick, though I still believe the dev that created this achievement to be a sadist. You need to get 25 stacks of the debuff, then the hands will give alacrity instead, which makes this doable. Just stand by the door and afk until you have 25 stacks, then enter the fight.
Seriously? That’s… weird, but good to know thanks.
Didn’t notice Alacrity but I had 25 stacks and beat it with my clones. So makes sense to me.
Didn’t know about talking, beat it with phantasms on my mes. Lol
Can’t get past character select either.
update using blink targeting in water beneath boards I got out, but those with no similar skill won’t.
When looking for the Shining blade contact (White Mantel Hideout) I fell through boards while fighting.

That’s my opinion. Worrying over every change, every nerf or adjustment sucks all the fun out of the game. I have run with guilds in other games where you had to get a degree in your class. Ridiculous. Just play, wear your underwear on your head, and have fun. Game, remember?

She’s the only decent character left in the story. If she’s sidelined, might as well nuke Tyria from orbit and start from scratch.
Tyri-Alderaan
BOOKAHS!!! Pfffffttt…
When Taimi sends Scruffy to connect the beam.. oh the feels..
Tyrian Mystical Tours [PORT] Runs an HP/MP train in AB/VB/TD event on Sunday afternoon (We started it for guild members, but any are welcome). If it helps, contact me in game for details and times. Keep in mind if interest is too low on a given Sunday we may wait until the following weekend. I have run 5 characters of my own thru it and they each mastered their class in one run
It also helps alot with map completion, etc. We ask you to let us know if you have lean tech as well as adv gliding or not. We ask this so we know if we need to have ports ready to get you to a far away perch Also, please be ready to listen to the commander and do your best to keep, up, wouldn’t want you left behind lol
EU players we have periodic trains for your time zones as well! We are on a US Megaserver if it matters.
