But that’s materials, not gold. Since a guild can’t trade directly it would have to be managed by a player, and there is currently no way to “guild-bind” items, any form of gold-funnel to a guild would be the game forcibly moving resources from one player to another. Not Cool.
No, there are upgrades that require mats AND GOLD. All they need to do is code it to not allow removal of this “funnel” gold. It’s not a big deal code wise, other games even allow for repair costs to be taken from guild stash of gold. GW2 needs to step up their game on their guild system.
There are some upgrades that cost 100’s in gold as part of the needed materials. Thankfully not many. As is, the current guild system is very lacking overall. No guild email system for leaders, no time out for troubled members (it’s either let them rant and start problems or kick them out), etc.. For a game called GUILDwars, the guild system is really not what it should be.

Very nice, although her outfit could cause your team to wipe since they would forget to attack and be somewhat .. distracted
Then again so would the opposition.
Note: This is a work in progress. His majesty has his moods and we must try to accommodate them.
Purpose: Make a place where guild members can practice techniques in porting, climbing, gliding, landing, pinpoint landings, mastering the use of the Oak hearts Essence vines, and just having fun. I placed “Firecracker Decorations” at key points to be triggered to show they reached their target.
Items used: SAB craft-able items (Scribe)
Many guilds are struggling for donations of gold. I think even 1% of the money spent with Guild Merchants would help. Same with Wp’s. Yes it’s a small amount, but that is exactly my point. If it’s so small, then letting some of the revenue go to the GH seems doable.. If you like, make a special account for it that only allows it to be spent on upgrades, and not taken out my leaders/officers.
Very nice! A clever idea for sure!
Okay, truth is we love jump puzzles so this was made into one
Okay, it was going along fine and, well one of my spells went .. ummm wrong? You decide. Maybe it’s better this way.. ish?
There is nothing more frustrating then being reminded of things we have trouble with. It’s why our Guild was formed (Tyrian Mystical Tours [PORT]). I will agree some jp’s seem to be impossible, or take too long to complete. One thing I have learned is a challenge is welcome, until you fail. But a few things to remember.
1) It’s just a game. Jump puzzles are there to test you, or not. (looking at you Skipping Stones!)
2) Don’t be too proud to ask for help. That’s part of the reason they are “Challenging”. They can be community builders.
3) When in doubt, give PORT a shout
WE NEVER CHARGE! We can help you finish quickly or help you learn how to get it done on your own. Or even, learn with you!
+190 members, all Mesmers. We love Jp’s (some we love to run some we love to hate lol)
Mysti Shadowcaster
Leader: Tyrian Mystical Tours [PORT]
Add them or don’t, why ride when you can fly?
Word was they opted for a single class system as it was easy to balance. Dual classes made for too many over powered builds, i.e. 55 monk etc..
1) Add ability to use guild chat to rank system, sometimes members need to cool off and step away from chat, but do not. As is all we can do is argue or boot them. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. With this ability we could change their rank and silence them for a bit.
2) Remove/add ability for member to visit the guild hall or not, to the ranking system. For example, with this ability we could require Recruits to earn access to the guild hall by gathering materials or completing a series of tasks. Having a setting in the rank system could be a great motivator to helping the GH grow. No interest, no access.
Our resident Pirate (guildy) is not going to be happy, that ship is his.. domain, in fact he built gates at all entrances (except gliding from above) and closed them!
(Being a guild of all Mesmers, we have some serious jump puzzles in our GH, one is called Nyms Nightmare, it goes up to the top of the tree in the top of the guild hall, and starts near mining entrance. There is an easy-ish way and an OMG MOMMY!!! way )

The Forum Staff & Devs
I know some have their wishes for changes in game, we all do. That said, GW2 is great because they listen, they interact. Another game I play (although for how much longer I’m not sure) is so afraid of posts on the forums, they remove anything they deem bad, do not say why, do not explain privately, just POOF. It’s gutless moderating to be sure. I’ve worked as a volunteer, and as a paid Moderator for some AAA titles and I know how reputable companies work and how the Evil Alliance works. (read that a few times the light will flicker..:)
To what end is this? I want to say thank you to Gaile, and the rest for being friendly, helpful, and approachable in and out of the game. It is appreciated!
Oh my wish list? Bring back Festival of the 4 winds, and FROGGY! (Gw1 reference)
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
Awesome, thank you! So I know, would a reply be sent or only if additional info is needed?
Maybe if addtional info is needed but you typically won’t get a reply back.
Ok, good to know. Ty!
Awesome, thank you! So I know, would a reply be sent or only if additional info is needed?
If we come across any how do we report them? Obviously spelling things out here is not a good idea
It’s interesting. When we all first got online, we were constantly warned to NOT share personal information online, no pictures, etc. Now, we might as well drop our house keys in a public restroom with our address attached. Social media is a marketplace for our info. Sad really.
The root of this particular problem can be found in the existence of an in game economy.
Sometimes I wonder if all the time and effort Anet must put into maintaining the BLTC and the in game economy is worth it. Just suppose for a moment, all items were acct bound on acquire. (Yes yes I know what about trading and crafting). Then imagine, gold and gems were as well. It would actually have an interesting effect on in game play. Why? More need to group to get high end missions, raids etc done, to obtain desired items. The stranglehold on the economy by some (buying and destroying or holding desired items to drive the price up, etc..) would be gone. We already live with some crafted items being bound. I know, at this point it would cause more chaos then it is worth, but isn’t defending Tyria our purpose, not day trading in game?
O.o?
A common draw in MMO’s for many people IS the ‘day trading’ side of things though. For that to work, a player driven economy is required.
And gold sellers/farmers feed and thrive on that aspect. Remove it, they will vanish overnight. It’s known that in China gold farming is a regular job for some. They are living of it’s income. So no easy fix is forthcoming. As to those liking the day trading aspect, why not do it for real and make real money? Or are they doing both now (day trading in game and profiting from it in real time) LOL
Why? I don’t know. I played WoW for years with my wife and she made tons of money playing the Auction House (WoW version of the TP). It was never appealing to me, but who cares? It is obviously a thing a lot of people like to do. All I am getting from your post is that it isn’t appealing to you so you don’t even want to entertain the idea that it is otherwise a staple of MMO’s.
Mmo’s are built utilizing many forms of information, to devise a plan of action. They know our triggers and hot points. Some employ behaviorists, to delve into the psyche of gamers. Making money, real or imagined is a trigger for many. For me, giving it to those needing help in game is mine. I wish I could do more in real life, but for now, virtually helping is still helping. Greed is it’s own reward. And it’s own curse. Some “play” the in game market to see how they will do, or see it as easy and a way to pass the time, others will do as I do, and help others. I’m not so short sighted to say I know why any one person does what they do, or for what reason. We all follow our own drummers. But to speak to your insinuation I don’t care what others want, shows how very little you know about me or anyone like me. If anything we care too much, about perfect strangers. So some would lose a virtual time waster, others would gain peace of mind, knowing an unstable existence out of game, need not intrude in game. As for commerce being a staple, of course it is, it’s user generated content, just like PVP. But ask yourself this, if it didn’t exist, how much more time could be put to expansions, bug fixes, enhancements, and more.
Oh no doubt tons more content could be made if they cut any section of the game. We could cut fractals out, that would free up a lot of dev resources for everything else. But I am thinking that would make a lot of people unhappy that a part of the game they like got cut out to make another section of the game populace happy. They could stop making any new maps and only add to the existing ones, that would probably free up dev resources as well. We could cut WvW, Raids, etc. There are a lot of ways to free up dev resources, but that doesn’t mean they are all equally valid for the future of the game.
I just think if Anet can balance economies, forget gaming the country could use the help with theirs. LOL
Humor aside, there is soooo much worthless junk on the BLTC, millions upon millions (without exaggerating) of white items, blues and green items, that should be out in the wilds, convincing players to do the missions, group with others to do so, but all they have to do is walk in LA and grab what they need and stand around talking. But this is a conversation best held elsewhere. OP sorry to go off on a tangent.

Are you saying it saves our CC (or whatever) information, even if we don’t check ‘Save Billing Information’?
I cannot answer for others, but I know my computer sometimes “helpfully” saves information that I don’t intend to save. So I may leave unchecked a merchant’s “Save my info” box, but my actual computer thinks it knows best, and I find when I start to input the CC number, it auto-fills.
I am happy to check into this concern about saved info, but I’d like to do so after I know this isn’t a system rather than store issue.
Computers being to helpful, that’s crazy talk lol
Actually many will say it needs to be reduced. With so many in multiple guilds, most guilds have little or no interaction, and are members in name only.
Oh, a slight addendum. Dry dock. This is the closest I can find to the Festival of the 4 winds (Which I dearly miss, it was Mesmer Heaven). So cool, I have spent hours in there just climbing and jumping.. Soo cool..
omg… WANT! Just mastered Chrono, new horizons! Working on Stealth Gliding currently.

Okay crafting and selling. If all we could do is post these items on the BLTC and not sell to each other via email, a portion of what happened to the OP might not have happened. If we could not send gold to each other, gold sellers have less to offer. Plus tracking those buying gold would be easier. All it would take is a few additions to the database on each of us. total Gold Earned (missions, bltc sales), total Gold possessed. If GE < GP, DING DING DING we have a player buying gold.

Note: Yes, they have both been around for quite some time and I’m late to the party. Story of my life. LOL I have a lot going on in my personal life, and look forward to going in game and getting lost in it. To that end..
First let me say, to the person or persons responsible for the Guilded Hollow themed Guild Halls, may Dwayna smile on you every day of your life. I don’t have the words to express how much I enjoy exploring ours. We’re nearing 40 and can’t wait for the “Forgotten city” part to open up. Guildies are having a blast making and playing on our custom jump puzzles, one leads all the way to the top of the tree at the top of the GH. I refer to it as “omg MOMMY” high, to those considering trying it (with a guild of over 170+ Mesmers JP’s are our playground
). Again, many, many thanks for the work that went into it.
Second Gliding. I have way too much fun gliding. Sometimes I get to places umm, shall we say not on the daily route. I love exploring, so much I have to be pushed to do missions, I’d rather explore and glide. In combat I’m much like a cat, I always seek the highest vantage point to fight from (In my defense being a Mesmer and using Spatial, the further away from the enemy the better right? lol) . Recently I joined in the vine event and found we can attack while gliding. Sooooo cool! I really hope this is permitted more. (Is it already, if so where?)
These two facets really make my day. Going off a cliff and gliding.. forgetting my cares for a bit. Landing and helping someone, and then moving on. Come on, that is as close to being a super hero as most of us will get
Again, Many, Many thanks.
Ranger has been boring for me as my pet takes care of almost everything for me.
Sorry, but that’s blasphemy! Ranger is the best. Full stop.
for me is mesmer but mesmer is a wierd class
But oh so good to party with, and our mesmer community is marvelous with helping get the dailies! I am a major mesmer fan!
Mesmer is a lot of fun, it really is a useful community class. But then, I’m a bit partial to them

Same here, losing connection to the game every few minutes. I login to a previous location as well. When I go back all is well until I approach the daily mini dungeon in QD. As soon as I cross a certain point from any direction, I’m DC’d.
Update: I moved to HoT maps and all is fine for the last 20 mins. I think the previous location has issues.
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
Maybe it can be attacked by the Charr and then they can have a large seafood dinner. Then it can be rebuilt as an Asuran island getaway! But seriously nuke the Karka.. annoying little ….
- The jumping puzzle is generally considered the worst in the game, and is often intentionally avoided, even when it is a daily.
If Skipping Stones is a daily, mesmers are available almost the entire day to get you to the end chest with almost no jumping involved!
LOL Well said
I think story/lore wise it’s a grey area. It’s not pertinent (now anyways) but could be if the storyline warrants it? I agree some content needs to comeback (Zepheryte Festival) but won’t because of the storyline. So … the LS was/is to blame for creating deadzones. It’s too linear. There is a beginning, middle and end. Even though players can revisit it, no one wants to.

It seems like MK happens more often, is this why the rewards are less? In Gw1 it happened every so many hours I think with an overlap of about 5 minutes so you could get to the camp of your choosing. IIRC. Also we received a bag for every correct answer I think.
stuck in the past I know It happens with age.. lol
I think they are prices which take into account draining the accumulation on the tp. Im not in agreement this is the right approach, since I prefer festival rewards to be obtainable within the short span they appear in, rather than being fir the rich or carrying over year on year.
Half the amount would have sufficed. When the economy takes precedent over having fun during a festival, it takes a little of the fun out of things.
Thats just me, I appreciate others think differently on it.

Ok, I showed up, attended the entire session, only goofed once, and received 5 gift bags and a key that resulted in 3 greens 2 blues. The Clocktower rewards a non unique skinned chest (Exotic). Halloween in GW1 was so much better, what am I missing? To be honest, loot in game is really sad. I hope Wintersday is better.
Do I need high mf, and luck before the loot gets better?
It’s been pointed out to me privately that many players join guilds to get the harder content done, or better loot, or to make more gold, and on average don’t interact. They consider other members as NPC’s that will help when needed and go away until called. I just read a very indepth article about mmo’s, guilds, and how the social aspects are breaking down. It’s sad, when I started playing them in 2003, there was such a sense of community, I hated to logout. But that was then, now it seems like most will join, and do w/e they want and we as leaders should be happy they joined. (NOT)
@meanma, if you actively play a Mesmer, you are welcome to join our guild. Hit me up in game, and we can talk it over. I keep up with my officers via discord when not in game, they are running guild missions as I type this.
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
A friend pointed out many like our guild name and tag, so they join. Not sure how to feel about it, but lol ok, it’s a reason I guess.
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
One thing that has actually helped, was discussing GW1 and what we remember, miss etc. Not a complaint session, just talking. Tonight I started asking trivia and players that don’t talk alot, did. It was the darndest thing but I was pleased. Now to build on it. I run hide and seek games with moderate success. Being an all Mesmer Guild (You need to actively play a Mesmer to join) we like climbing and porting etc, so hide and seek is I find an obscure place and they have to get to me. No gliding and the first one to me wins a prize donated by other members. I guess what I’m learning here today in this thread is not to worry so much, and just do what I’ve been doing.
@Behellagh we use discord too, but still working on them talking. Lol. And I just added forums using freeforums.net
(edited by Evon Skyfyre.9673)
Another idea would be a minimum rank to be able to visit the guild hall. Say “New Recruit” cannot, a member and above can. Then if you notice someone not on for a while, not, repping, they are “demoted” and will either stay as a new r. or reach out to me, or quit?
I think the central point of this post is that there is no good way to communicate with Guild Members. How do you ask them if there is a reason they’re not interacting? You can decide to try new things in the guild but how to communicate that to the members? Guild Mail should definitely be added.
+1
It isn’t about blame. They are not to blame. You (and your officers) are not to blame. They are not participating in the guild so there is no reason to create the impression of a dead guild by retaining them on the roster. No harm. No foul. No one is hurt by removing them. A lively, active, interactive, small guild, in my opinion, is better than a large one with people who haven’t actually interacted with the guild in years.
All of that said, there is also no harm in reaching out to inactive members.
Agreed. Now, how to reach them.. I put a notice all news, updates etc, will be posted on our private forums, please visit and join, etc. About 20% have. So that is kinda working.
Because now that guild influence is no more it doesn’t matter to a guild entity whether or not you rep. You used to get guild credits just for having members rep. Now it means nothing. It’s yet another way, along with megaserver, that ANet has damaged this game.
Well that is something I wasn’t aware of (that it once really mattered). I left right after the fall of Lions Arch.
I’d be content to hear from them even if it was to point out why they are silent. It could be something I can improve on. It’s easy to put the blame on them and remove them but that just hurts the guild. I’m trying to build something enjoyable for all. I know I will never please them all, but I will at least know I tried.
Your input does help, and I appreciate the chance to vent my frustration. I think if I had to place blame, the ability to join multiple guilds wasn’t a good idea imho. But I don’t know the Anet’s reasoning behind it so…
Why do people join multiple guilds then ignore them? Makes no sense to me..
I’m noticing a fair amount of non repping members, that never chat, or join jn for guild missions etc. Sure a large number of members is nice, but I wonder how to reach those that joined and then went off into the mists and haven’t been heard from since. What are other leaders doing? I really wish we had a guild email system that only leaders could use. Trying to email over 100 members in game is just not possible with anti spam etc.
So what do other guilds do? I put up a members only forum, we have a GH, and a great core group of very helpful members. How do I jumpstart the “dead wood” They are logging into game, but not repping. I’m told the ability to join up to 5 guilds has really hurt guild participation, since players have only so much time, and can only be in so many places at once. In a game called GUILD wars the guild system really needs some attention.
Ok going in circles now, ideas?
