I don’t really think this is about players not having money for it. It’s about the discrepancy between light/heavy and medium. Why should it cost more for a medium armored character to get geared? Aren’t we all supposed to be on a level playing field.

Yes the price of medium armor is kitten compared to the other two, has been for a while. Probably won’t be fixed. Because of it, leatherworking is the only crafting I have that isn’t maxed.

A lot of people didn’t even realize there was a timer. I think the timer should show by default and when you click it, it would then close.

Because it artificially generates interest in it, just like how the gem store works. They can give us old content over and over and it makes people feel like they are actually getting something. It’s win-win for Anet.

I don’t think the game “lost” it’s identity, I think Anet beat it to death with a stick.

I’m curious, is that because what you read Heart of Thorns contain, you tried the beta and didn’t like it, or how the game developed even long before the expansion?
In other words, do you find the game not worth spending money on because of the expansion or it was already like this before it?

So, I found this thread again and thought I would answer this.
I will start with the fact that I used to play WoW so I was looking forward to GW2. I started GW2 at launch.

The main reason I have not and will not buy HoT is because of the way the game has gone/is going.

1: Anet originally set out to make an extraordinary MMO unlike any other, but has since gone in a different direction. I feel like with the Manifesto, they promised a lot and delivered little.
2: Stagnant content. I really don’t think this needs to be explained. Look at dungeons and world events, once you’ve done them there is no reason to do them again (unless you play Fashion Wars). Anet had an answer for stagnant content, dynamic events, it didn’t work.
3: I recently made a pvp character, because I thought maybe I was just bored with pve. WvW seems dead, also it’s still the same it was years ago. Eotm, hop in the train and run around mindlessly. Yeah, that’s fun. As far as structured pvp, it’s not for me and from what I hear is ruined anyways.
4: Raids. I would never be able to do a raid because I play my way. I have 6 fully geared lvl 80s, but none of them have meta builds and never will. I have no doubt that if I tried a raid, I would be kicked out. I have no desire to play the min/max game (I know GW2 players hate that word, but let’s call it what it is). I was at one time a top rated raider on WoW and came to GW2 to get away from that. Yay, meta builds.
5: DPS meters, here we go. Anet originally said no to them, now we have them. How long will it be before Anet caves again and we get an inspect panel so that players can kitten at me for not playing their way?
6: Problems. There are a lot of problems with this game that Anet needs to address. I am only going to focus on one because it shows how Anet deals with problems. Underwater combat. This was something that was new and exciting, unfortunately players didn’t like the way it works. It needs to be reworked, because it is a great idea. Anet’s answer, let’s just abandon it. Get used to this answer, you will be hearing it more.
7: Forced content. I’m not going into detail about this, because I already heard all the lame excuses about how nothing is forced. I will say this, if you look at SAB there is a normal mode achievement that requires you to do tribulation mode. How does that make sense. You force me to play a mode I don’t want to play in order to get an achievement for a mode that I do play.
8: The community. It didn’t used to be like this.

This is not a complete list, just some of the most important reasons I don’t have HoT.

Ultimately, I see this game going the same way WoW did and that’s unfortunate. I don’t play WoW anymore because it isn’t worth spending money on, neither is GW2.

Edit: Also, from what I have seen HoT in not an expansion, it seems more like DLC. I might be wrong though.

I got it myself but I can see why and also agree it shouldn’t be a requirement as I find tribulation mode to contain way to much rng for my liking. By RNG I mean those jumping rocks in 1-1 you have to run down that corridor full of rocks and it all feels like luck. I can jump and move and even if I’m already over the next section I’ll sometimes get knockdown and fall to my death due to rocks I’m no where near.

If it wasn’t for that one section I’d say leave it as is but normal players shouldn’t be forced into trib for that achieve the tribulation achieves are kept separate after all. At most if you want to keep Trib as part of the requirement then move the achieve over with the other tribulation achievements.

This, no matter what I do the rocks get me even though I’m already past them. Hot Hot Hot is the only thing I’m missing from world one. This achieve should be in with the other trib achievements, not in regular world one.

1: You can go on the wiki and get an item code and link it, so changing it to not be linkable would help little. A lot of times things get linked, players don’t even have it.

2: I did Tequatl everyday at least once a day for four months and got three of Tequatl’s Hoard and another named chest. If you really want it, you can get it. Although, it is a tough grind, or as some would call it “farming”.

Fix your game please.

When I came back to the game and saw the Wedding Dress I thought, “yay, ANet cares”. Then I saw the spring outfit.

So, the lesson here is in order to make gold, I need gold. Yeah, I’m broke.

Just a flesh wound, here you go. This is my Char after jumping off the edge and being defeated in EotM. How does this make you feel? I’ve seen no complaints about a Char laying on the ground gasping for breath.

Look at little Charrly Sootfur, laying there in so much pain, she’s suffering. Won’t you help her.

Go to a bank, click on the Wardrobe Storage and the Weapon Skins and then One-Handed. You can preview each weapon just by left clicking it even if you don’t have it.

So, I finally got my third Tequatl’s hoard, that was tough.
I have Blade of the Sunless, Bastion of the Sunless and Greatbow of the Sunless.
I want to change the stats on each one to berserker, but I want to make sure I am doing this correctly before I do it.

From what I read online, step one is getting for each weapon:
1. 10 spirit shards
2. the weapon I am changing, let’s say Blade of the Sunless
3. 5 ectos
4. a berserker inscription. I’m not sure of the name, is it Berserker’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription?

Step two:
I take these four items to the mystic forge and throw them in. I will receive a new sword with berserker stats, but it will not be called “Blade of the Sunless” only look like it.

Step three:
I use a transmutation charge on the new sword to put Blade of the Sunless name back on it.

Is this correct?

My friend has a much better computer than me and he can not ever do Tequatl. If I take my comp to his house, I can’t do Tequatl. The game will always crash.

At home it runs just fine. I don’t ever change my settings.
All my settings are on High and all check boxes are checked. My FPS varies between 20 and 60 (it may drop lower but I don’t notice it). This is all on ~five year old hardware.

Stat wise, no. However, this is Fashion Wars 2, so yes.

They have just as many options as any other race, though. By demanding that they be able to use female-modeled armor as well you’re actually asking for female Asurans/Charr to be put above the other races and have more options then them.

No, they don’t. Everyone chooses the gender armor they wear at the character creation screen. That choice is made when you select a gender. Everyone has this choice EXCEPT female Asuran and Charr. We are thrown random scraps and are made to feel like Anet couldn’t care less about us.

I am not asking for them to use female armor AS WELL as male. I am asking for female to wear female and male to wear male. However, since the problem has been around since launch, they can’t just take away male armor from female characters that like it. So, anyone that has received the armor before a change is made, should have a one time option to chose which style their existing armor gets. After that, male=male female=female. This too will cause problems though because other races will complain that they didn’t get that option.

Perhaps a dress/suit toggle would be an excellent feature to resolve this issue. That way the OP’s delightful female asura could enjoy their butterflies when she wanted to, and would have the bonus of allowing burly male norn of getting in touch with their feminine side!

Right now, for armor sets and not outfits, there are no options. You are forced to dress like a guy. I don’t care if charr and asura don’t have mammaries like the other races, they are still female. They should be allowed female clothing options if they want.

Problem is, neither race has the sexual dimorphism of humans. With the way most female armor is designed in this game, there needs to be female human like breasts for them to work.

If they can make some of the clothing in the female style, there is no reason why all of the female clothing can’t be female style for these two races. It is nothing more than laziness. Breast have absolutely nothing to do with it.

This would be nice, but getting a refund will never happen as Anet will view it as a loss in money. A better suggestion would be an item exchange, item A is exchanged for item B (same or lesser value).

However, as people say every time I suggest something like this, the fact that skins are unlocked for the account when you get something would prevent this. Which I think is a dumb excuse because they could just remove the skin too.

More than I am happy with, about half of the stuff I bought was a disappointment.

For example, I bought a [Noble Court Outfit] for a female Sylvari, it didn’t take long to realize I hate Sylvari. I can use that outfit on my Asura or Charr, but the outfit doesn’t work on female of those races.

It would be nice if I could exchange it for something like the [Imperial Outfit] which does work on female Asura.

Now, I just think the gem store is too risky.
