Only Anet knows if guesting is the problem. They haven’t stated details, have they? I hedge that guesting isn’t the biggest issue, because many if not most have been reporting overflows.

They have stated at least twice that they are investigating the guesting issue (in threads about overflows and events), so I assume there is something going on. I can’t find the threads for proof as all threads about this issue keep getting moved and or merged.

Edit: Found one https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/JQ-Tequatal-Finally-Crashed-Server/first#post1574582 “Together with all the reports of guesting causing massive lag issues on Meta events” If guests are causing lag, it would stand to reason they are also causing the overflow.

I wish they would do something as I’m tired of the guests treating the native residents like kitten (no that isn’t backwards).

Anet has stated they are aware of and investigating the issue (about guesting), they wouldn’t say that if it was just the normal server population. There is a thread somewhere, but I guess they moved it. Will try to find it.

Now instead of standing in town LFG (gw2lfg helps with that), I find myself standing in zones waiting for bosses to spawn (have to be there about 45min early or get thrown into the overflow on my home server).

Guesting is meant to visit friends or maybe check out a new home. As it is guesting is being abused.

That’s the problem though. I bought the game based on the manifesto. You obviously didn’t. If you had, you wouldn’t think it was getting “better and better”.

No, this is the road most developers travel down as they become bigger. They slowly alienate a lot of their customers (by going against what they “stand” for), but it’s ok because they get rich in the process.

Guesting is being abused. It is meant to be used to visit friends, but it is used for personal gain.

I hope Anet comes up with a solution and fast.

Knowing Anet the ranks will affect PVE is some way, so I’ll be forced to WvW once again.

Guests should just have a lower queue priority on every server.

Guesting implies a temporary stay. Guesting to a server should only work for 24 hours as a trial period. After 24 hours, you are locked out of guesting to that world for 30 days.

This is by far the best suggestion I have ever seen on these forums.
As it stands now people are just using other servers for their person gain.

But you can play your way, as long as your way is the same as Anet’s.

I have a Female Elementalist Asura named Fiddlestyx.

With or without MF all I get is blues and greens. I think MF is a made up stat.

I would never wear MF in dungeons.

It took me six days of running Twilight Arbor to get the full set of exotic armor. 3 paths each day with a few repeats here and there. It isn’t hard.

- The look from GW1 to GW2 (not graphically but designwise) is somewhat different to what I had hoped. Not saying that I dislike GW2, but the difference from Kryta in GW1 to GW2 is a significant change that I’m not really sure that I like. The flora and fauna from Kryta in GW1 to GW2 has changed significantly, and I want to know: Does the zones in GW2 resemble the zones from GW1 enough?

Couldn’t do it. I can’t even level a new character because of having to rediscover all those Pois and Vistas. Waypoints and hearts are fine though. I guess it’s good I love my one 80.

Before the game released, Anet said we wouldn’t be standing in town looking for a group. They were right, we use http://www.gw2lfg.com/ instead.

OMG, that’s sucks.
I agree the UI needs a lot of work. There are a lot of ways to mess up in this game and no way to fix them (I bought the wrong karma item by mistake and got stuck with a 42k karma loss) Anet needs to fix stuff like this ASAP. But as always we get so some lame “I can’t help you” response.

I am looking for a casual PVE/RP guild. I would prefer a guild that isn’t too big so that everyone knows one another, instead of just being another number on the roster.

I mostly focus on the PVE aspect of the game and want to get into running dungeons more often. I rarely PVP (only to get map complete in WvW).

I really enjoy RP, but I have not done much (RP) with my character on GW2. (I was in an RP guild for over a year on WoW and worked my way up to an officer).

I am a level 80 Asuran Elementalist named Fiddlestyx. I play mostly in the morning to afternoon hours (CST), but I am available almost always.

Do any of the Karma vendors sell accessories (exotic) that don’t have magic find? I have looked all over and can’t find anything.

Different people, different play-styles. The default setup works fine for me.
