Happened last night and again just now: Placed a heroes banner, told people about it, then it was gone. Didn’t even last a minute, although the banquet was still there. I thought maybe I had miss-clicked, but no, it was still on cool-down in the guild panel. I’m basically the only one that got to use it (and maybe one or two others).

I made this for a friend’s birthday. Just thought I’d share.

There’s a very easy fix for it. We call it the “table of denial”.

It’s what you do with problems. Put a table on it. It’ll be like it never existed. :P

I’ve reported this as a bug when it first started happening about almost a year ago. It then went awayfor a bit, but now I’m getting it again, on and off.

Basically, I can’t initiate whispers. I have to ask in guild that the person whisper me, since I can only reply. Eventually the whisper does go through, but then it takes over completely. I’d be running or something when suddenly the whisper box would randomly open, and it would quickly run through the whole list of people I tried to whisper.

I’ve started sending the current time when I’d get that problem. I once had a whisper take 45 minutes to send. This is obviously quite annoying.

Please fix it. :/

Mini Nika is ridiculously small compared to other human mini-pets (See attached image).

I know there are worse things to complain about, but there’ll always be worse, so I’m just gonna mention this anyway.

I got the mini, thought it was cute, but way too small to even be noticed. What’s this, a mini-pet for ants??

Please make Nika a bit larger so she can actually be seen.

We did this mission the other day. The UI doesn’t show progress, but after a second match (in the same mission) we got our rewards.

Yes, please!! So annoying. I’ve reported this in-game, but I think we know by now that it doesn’t really help.

We bought new turrets, but can’t test them out. Also, you can delete obstacles from outside the Arena. Was busy building an “observation deck” when I accidentally deleted a wall inside the Arena. Not cool. Now I can’t even put it back because of this bug.

You just need everyone to hop onto the circle together.

A member just needs to stand on at least one of the circles to get the reward.

What upgrade is this for?

This is mine, taken on the 27th of August, 2012.
My very first character, and still my favourite. She has since undergone a complete makeover and rename. (Her hair was never supposed to be gray.. I chose the ..frost blue thing #sadface)

I don’t think I’ve gotten any credit for volunteering yet.

But I’ve heard of the spawn on the wrong side thing. It happens to my bf quite often, then I laugh at him and continue playing. :P

Maybe use a speedboost and have a nice running start and leap off the edge (with pride)?

Last night during Guild Missions.
We were in Langmar Estate, the room before the curtains, when I suddenly dropped dead – Was standing on one of the platforms out of combat.
During the curtains bit, so soon after, I suddenly had my trident on my back with no weapon abilities. I was unable to perform any emotes, since they can’t be performed underwater. I don’t know if there could perhaps be some connection between the two?

But I’ve had the underwater thing happen before though.

I also managed to do it the first time.
I think the dive in the Not So Secret (Aetherblade) puzzle is much worse anyway. :P

Yesterday I got this error with the message:
“The game client was unable to connect to the log-in server. Please restart your client and try again. …”

Eventually I managed to find a solution, which I’d just like to share in case anyone else ever has this.
I now connect through VPN, which seems to work. I have asked my ISP to look into it though, as I’d prefer actually fixing the problem, rather than just working around it.

It’s not firewall related or anything; there’s a separate set of error codes for this.

I’ve been getting it a lot these last few weeks.
People leave, and one team ends up too big and someone has to volunteer. Only thing is, the volunteer thing pops up when I’m in the smaller team, and I get to volunteer for the opposing team? Nothing happens though, but still. :/

The problem is that the active box changes on mouse-over, instead of mouse-click. This is really horrible!!

I have been following the conversations and arguments and whatevers. It is frustrating that ANet seems to be ignoring everyone’s cries.

A lot of people though are on the other side of the argument, and have no issue with this.

I used to imagine them sitting back saying “Let them complain. They’re gonna pay up anyway.”
Now I just see them upset with “We didn’t mean to hurt anyone. sadface”.

The core game would be having a character. You need the core game. This is why it’s included.

Another case:
If the park closes at 18h00, and you go at 17h00, it’s unfortunate that you had to pay a full day fee for only an hour’s worth, but that’s how it works.
The park is at fault if they usually close at 23h00, and without telling you suddenly decide to close earlier. I’m sorry that there are people in this boat.

OP, I have the game since the very beginning, and due to busy real life I missed events and living stories that I had to BUY, not to mention latest living stories of unobtainable season 1. So that is NOT an excuse, its still wrong! Your argument is invalid…

I also missed out on a lot, which I regret, but I had access to it. I could’ve played, and in your case, you only had to log in at a certain stage to get the living stories for free. It only became purchasable much later.

If someone is handing out cake for free for one month, you can’t blame them if you have to pay for showing up two months later.

If you pay to go to an amusement park, but for some reason choose not to go on any of the rides, it’s not the park’s fault. Yes, you might’ve gotten sick in the middle of the day or something, but ultimately it was still you’re decision to stay off.

Again, it is unfortunate that you bought the game so recently that you wouldn’t be getting your $40 worth. You could choose to see it as $90 for 3 years, so $30 / year, and $10 / year for vets, resolving the “nothing for loyal players” issue.
But I think ANet should perhaps compensate for players that have been playing for, say, less than a year, or players that bought the game after the HoT announcement.

Players that bought the game less than a month ago can claim refunds. For those that have played for little over a month, I agree, it sucks.

But we payed $50 to play the game for 3 years, now we’re paying another $50 to play for 3 more years.
New players are therefore also only paying for the next 3 years.

It should not be seen as base + expac, but rather …new base.

In this post I would like to explain / resolve some of the controversy that’s been going on ever since HoT has been available for pre-purchase, without yelling “entitled” at anyone who does not agree.

I too was originally on the unhappy side of the line, but I recently started seeing the light, and would like to share that light with those that are still on that side.

The problem: We see this new purchase as “missing out” on a potential “free account”, or that we’ll be paying twice for the base game.
Think of it as buying the latest version of the game instead. For $50, new-comers will be getting the most recent version of the game.

Each living story episode will cost them 160 or 200 gems (not sure about the price).
8 stories, with 800 gems costing $10.
8 × 160 = 1280 gems -> buy 1600 gems -> $20

New people will have to pay at least $20 to get access to the “base” game.
That $20 was included in our package way back when.
Let’s say we payed $50 for our original package (can’t remember how much it was).

That leaves $30 difference, which got us Scarlett Briar, SaB, Marionettes, Elections, and whatever else there was.
There is no sense in new members paying this $30, since they will never get that content. They have not been playing for 3 years, so they need not pay that $10 / year “subscription fee”.

It does feel like I’d be better off buying a base + expansion, since I then get a “free vanilla account”, but then my current account would be kind of meaningless, since it’s not the latest version of the game.

I do feel that this “expansion” might be a bit overpriced; for me it’s about 1.5 times the original price, but the economy here might be to blame for that.

I would be happier if the basic upgrade included a new character slot though. To me, revenant is a part of the expansion, but I have to pay extra to access that part of it. This is the only thing I’d really like to change.

I’m posting this as a new topic, which I’m hoping will not be merged, since it’ll otherwise get lost in the sea of complaints.

I hope this cleared some things up. Let me know if I missed anything.

Lately, every time I open the hero panel, I see my character with some random dyes applied, usually something brown.

This does not affect me in any way. My character still has the right colours. When I go to the dye edit section, the applied colours are still as they should be, despite what’s being shown. It fixes itself when I hover other colours over it.

Does anyone know what could cause this, by any chance?

I like the outfits, its much easier for me to put one on and forget about it. Especially since I love to run new toons and not worry about changing gear all the time.

I too like the outfits for that same reason.
I got a bit fed up with trying to get the right dye combination for all the different kinds of materials. Also, no transmutation cost!

Perhaps outfits should ALSO come as individual pieces? So buying one would give you the outfit as a whole, but also the skin for each part. That way you can choose to either equip the whole thing without transmuting anything, or apply skins individually, which would require charges.

This would make everyone happy, would it not?

In PvP there’s a panel for a PvP build, and when you enter the HotM, this build becomes your active build automatically.

Couldn’t there perhaps be one for WvW too? Just for the traits. The armor, weapons, and trinkets I can handle myself.

I know some people have multiple builds for WvW, but some (like me) only have one. At the moment I mainly go to WvW for daily campturer, for which I have a unique build for soloing.

It’s a bit annoying having to retrait for the 5 mins I’m gonna spend in WvW, only to have to switch back to PvE build afterwards.

It only needs to store one build. I don’t think this is too much to ask, since it’s another.. zone(?) altogether. So just a build for PvE, PvP, and WvW.
Some people retrait for dungeons, but this is still part of PvE, so that needn’t have its own set. That I can do myself.

Any thoughts or comments on this?

I’ve come across quite a few “pun” opportunities, but obviously they can’t actually use them in game.

Daily Camp Capture -> Daily Campture
Orr Forager -> fOrrager
Unbreakable Choir Bell -> Can I hear you say “Unbreakabell”?

These are the only ones I can remember right now. Has anyone else come across any others?

My bf and I wanted to go with “Beauty Anne” and “De Beast” (human and charr), but alas, no more character slots.
