Op’s stats seem about right to me.. I have about the same healing power with stacks with a bit more toughness for cleaving with gs while I try to nut-hug commanders.

Really depends on how good you are at dodging and how lazy you want to be while playing. I’m lazy but a decent player and run knight’s armor w/ eagle runes. Ascended zerker weps plus ascended zerker trinkets. Minotaur steaks and cheapo oil because it’s PVE. I still do a considerable amount of damage and it’s pretty hard to ever go into a downed state even if lazily beating on a champ. Best way to see what works for you is to go to pvp lobby and try different stats against Svanir and see what you like.

Actually, you may enjoy minions to your heart’s content…for me, they are part of what makes the Necro fun to play. Also, you CAN explode your bone minions for two blast finishers. ANET also just fixed the ability to detonate them in this situation, making MM even stronger:
“Putrid Explosion: Fixed an issue that caused the blast finisher on this skill to fail to combo with the field generated by the trait Death Nova. This skill now properly displays the combo floater when a combo is achieved.”

Increased revive speed + well of blood healing anybody close to downed player.
Transfusion healing ’mates as well as minions!
Death Nova causing big poison fields ripe for blasting for AOE weakness.
YAAW! giving more weakness on a traited short !@@ cooldown.
Vampire stuff for group-wide sustain.
Even running full Zerker gear, with the correct traits, you can easily be the guy/gal who gets multi-rezz’s off in hairy situations. This is exactly how I have fun in HOT. For me, the highest DPS stuff gets boring real quick (YMMV)…what gives me satisfaction is helping others get-on-up and win the encounter…..while still contributing as much as possible to DPS.

Opening with Reaper’s touch (along with WOS) will bounce around, stacking vuln. and upping my crits substantially. We have both great offensive and defensive traits, but my preference in the new areas is to gear offensively and trait defensively….this just works well for the packs of Chak, etc. that can be a problem. Rise w/ death nova popping-off frequently is a great way to stack loads of poison as well as to tank damage. I dunno, after trying out many different builds, this one is just a beast if you want a little sustain coupled with decent damage. Of course, YMMV.

I did this w/ two other Necro’s…took use three times this morning…here’s how:
-Equip d/w and staff
-no minions
-use staff 5 and DS3 off cooldown when blue bar up, when it goes all the way down, switch to dagger melee and dps as hard as possible
-rinse/repeat till dead.
It’s a bit hard, but doable…it’s also worth noting that you need to have choppa acess and updraft mastery to get to him.

Aqua breather will remain on face out of water (was wearing outfit). Unchecking then re-checking headgear as well as going out of outfit does not remove the aquabreather.

Well, you can put “all-in” into crit chance/crit dmg and slot tornado…hear me out…then go to EOTM, wait for zerg to approach in a squirrely local…pop tornado and jump down. (in assassin’s or ’zerker’s) You will deal redic. dng as well as toss a number of people off…quick!, run back inside before you die!

Well, its the wintersday outfit if that helps. helm is glint’s gaze (unchecked). The wintersday helm appearing underwater and staying visible upon leaving the water happens about 80% of the time. To make the hat disappear it is ness. to go into the hero panel/equipment and check then un-check helm…or just waypoint fixes it as well.The aqua-breather is sometimes not visible underwater, but when it is, it will stay visible upon leaving the water. Make your own mini-game by going stones-deep into Air, pick-up lightning rod, go full GC with air sigil and see how many procs you can achieve before your opponent succumbs to NO INTERNAL COOLDOWN. We have so many fun ways to proc lightning rod..you know that weird conjured shield nobody uses? Tornado/whirlpool, air 5 (x2), 3…trident air 5, etc.
It’s crazy fun.

I had disconnects about every 30 min or so, off and on for months. Repairing the GW2.exe shortcut after EVERY patch seems to work. This may be old news, and I have tried this before, but never consistently after every patch. Guess time will tell, but seems to be working so far….

FWIW I use assassin’s armor w/ zerker twinkets on my non-meta lightning rod staff ele for everything…it’s a challenge, but with a somewhat slow rate of fire…I really want every hit to crit the mostest….and they typically do. Watching that meteor shower or multi-lightning rod proc meeeeeeelt face is just too fun!

If you’d like to play full glass (or close w/ valk) w/ staff, what are some good strategies to counter for what often happens…..your opponents push deep and start focusing you (as they should)?

FWIW I almost always use a drake and a pig in PVE (drake for the cleave and blast, pig for the rng fun…sometimes it drops the gooood stuff). WvW it’s moa for the on demand fury for sniping key targets down quickly and wolfy for a possible downed-state savior (it happens quite a bit). These choices are based on full zerkatron gear/stats of course.

I’m trying out the medic build (with soldiers and a bit of healing power for myself until I craft Nomads) and having a blast stealthing and picking up my team-mates of the floor!

Ok, quick question: If running two dogs in a power build, what adept trait in skirmishing is “best”…agility training..primal reflexes…companion’s might? They all seem pretty lackluster to me unless you can run a pet w/ high crit%. This is my only trait choice that I’m iffy about.

I’ve picked-up my Ranger after a long lapse and need some kiting tips for a sniping/glass build for WvW and EOTM. I have lightning reflexes slotted, but what else can I use..other than muddy terrain, which I have eschewed in favor of signet of the hunt (speed) and signet of stone (invuln.)?

I run all zerker gear in WvW and get my toughness from other sources:
-Melandru runes
-6 points in Defense
-Shield Master trait
-Dolyak signet
This gets me up to 1770 toughness (3k armor) but with 70% crit chance (with fury) and 212% crit dmg with 4 points in Discipline. Plus added vitality from guard stacks…..works like a cheerm.

Agreed, this makes activating the signet pretty much worthless. I’ve taken 6 in arms for adren. on crit coupled with CI (adren. on hit) to get by in combat.

Even right now warriors have lower DPS than guardians.
After the patch, the only two classes that will have lower DPS than warrior will be ranger and necro.
In a group setting, like a dungeon run, what is in your opinion the Warrior’s role?
By that I mean, what’s a Warrior really good at? What does a Warrior do better than any other class?
I’m asking this because I read Nike’s guide, your guide and Element’s guide (and found them all enlightening, so thank you guys all for the time and effort spent on them!), and I was left with the idea that our role as warriors is having a high damage output, a decent capability at stacking vuln, while also boosting the reast of the party with our banners and shouts.
BUT if our personal dps is actually among the lowest, what are we good for?
An engi can stack more vuln then us, an ele can provide might and fury to the party… Are we only useful because of our banners? :-s

I feel like, in a group setting, we really shine in the role opposite that of a typical Guardian role. Rather than defensive support, we are great at providing offensive buffs.
Providing fury and might stacks to ourselves and teammates is VERY strong imho.
Providing CC on players/mobs (who can receive it), is also a valuable asset. Those couple of seconds if imob./stun can be critical (they are not attacking, moving, blocking, etc). With only a few other players involved, this becomes a MASSIVE advantage. I’ve been on the receiving-end before and it is…very…demoralizing.

Cav. armor w/ Hoel. runes+knight’s weps+’zerker trinkets+ 5 points in arms and take deep strikes for your first trait+ equip 2 signets.
You now have good toughness, 50% crit chance, 200% crit dmg and (esp. if you have sigil of strength and GS trait) decent power when might stacks start piling up.
Crushing defeat for your enemies…see them tremble as you draw nearer!

Vendor/salvage your knights armor. Then get Cav. armor w/ Hoel. runes+knight’s weps+’zerker trinkets+ 5 points in arms and take deep strikes for your first trait+ equip 2 signets= voila!

Just try on Cavalier’s with Zerker trinkets and knight’s weps. Take 4 in Arms tree with deep strikes and 5 in defense for power based on toughness. Add Hoelbrak runes for might stacking and minus-conditions + Leek soup. This will give you around 50% crit chance/ 200% crit dmg/ 3000 armor and plenty of power once you start to get all jacked-up on might. You’ll hit preeeety hard while being able to take a few hits in WvW. PM me if you have any questions and good luck Sir!
