I don’t have seizures to my knowledge but I do suffer from photosensitivity. I was diagnosed with partial albinism when I was a kid. This makes things like Bitter Harvest and Migraine, heh, even the Herald’so psychedelic bathmat be triggers for migraines. Pulsing light patterns just cause that. The Herald thing really irritates me because I can’t have my rev use the specialization and it’s not worth using if you don’t use Glint.

I do my best to limit situationso that are known migraine triggers but it’s difficult to stay away from all of them. One way I help prevent things is having the post processing effects off since that helps take away some of the extra glittery effects. I also don’t play certain classes because of their bright flashy tendencies as well. Staying mostly at range also helps me since then everything isn’t going off in my face.

I do wish Anet would give us more graphic options though to tone things down a bit more. Even their new effect limiter doesn’t limit enough. There are days where I don’t log in because I know that even just moving my character (I do third person since first person makes me motion sick) could cause motion sickens so. Or even a particular effect might trigger something.

Why do I still Play? I enjoy how the game play is for the most part, my husband plays so it is something good for us to do together, I love my female charr reaper, and I love the lore of Tyria.

I just try to stay away from the trigger situations but I still wish Anet would realize that not everyone can take the bright strobing effects that they seem to be using more and more. If it gets too bad I will have to move on but I would much prefer not to.

I would love to be able to hide the pauldrons on outfits. So many of them are over done and ruin the design.

I am sooooo looking forward to doing this! I’ve wanted to glide in Central Tyria ever since I got my basic gliding after HoT. This will make running around so much more fun.

Still having the issue even after deleting the preference file and resetting things up I’m still having this issue.

I use Windows 7 with the 32 bit client.
I exit the game by opening the menu with esc and clicking exit to desktop.

I am also having this issue which is very frustrating.

Finally fully unlocked herald and thus gave it a go…for all of about a minute. That ground effect it horrible. It’s too bright, too big, and it pulses. The pulsing does to me what I was afraid of, starts to trigger a migraine. Herald is a no go for me because of this.

Charr is most fun for me.

I have four total.
One main (female charr necro), two alts, and one mule.

Explorer Loana is still bugging out for Bolt Vol. 1.

I won’t complain about the change at all. I’ll admit I was disappointed when I logged in after launch to learn I couldn’t learn enough of my spec for it to be useful right away. I was looking forward to running through HoT with it.

Sunrise 1: The Experimental Daysword

Out in Fields of Ruins in the Halkor Meadows and Tanglerot Hills area where you’re supposed to save villagers from either getting kidnapped or after they are kidnapped by harpies is not completable.

The event for rescuing the villagers from the harpy kidnappers is stuck at one villager. After some searching this is apparently a bug that has been known for quite some time…

I don’t care for the effect of the new legendaries mutating the arm. I’d rather see my armor. I much prefer the auras that we have with the current legendary weapons.

Thus the new ones are a no go for me at this time.

When I was making my engineer I had a hard time deciding on race until I played them. I settled on charr because I enjoy the animations the most and I like playing a fuzzball. I could do without all the trench coats though….

Look at DnD druid for PnP, the druids get wild shape which is the ability to shape shift into animals. Pathfinder druid also gets the same ability. EQ2 druids have three different shape shift options also.

I envisioned some more nature themed utility skills with leaves and lightning or something more with the elements than we got.
However, my biggest disappointment is that the traits do nothing for/to the pet. I was really hoping for something to also do with the pet. Thus I don’t think I’ll even bother with druid since the traits don’t synergize with how I play. I honestly love my longbow too much to give it up for using staff most of the time.

I love my ranged DS and RS is the one thing making me hesitate on going Reaper with my necro. So I’d be fine with RS being added as an f2 or if they would let us choose which shroud we wanted to use. Just make f1 swapable like our utility skills are.

I enjoyed the changes to reaper with the last BWE. It flowed much more smoothly. What I don’t care for is not being able to choose which shroud to use. I prefer DS over RS because I mostly play ranged. The gs just makes swapping weapons more enticing.

I have four total. Out of those four I have my main who gets the most love, an alt, a mule, and a crafter.

Seriously though, play as many as makes you happy and you have fun with.

I had issues at first with using my charr in jp’s because of height and how they run. After a bit of practice though I got used it and now I will only use charr for a jp. So the only warning I can give you is that once you go charr you never go back.

I would love to have an option to not have to ground target my wells. I never took the trait before the change because I prefer to just press a button and have it cast on me. I cast them slower now because I have to make sure my mouse is in a proper spot.

I wouldn’t mind even seeing two versions of each skill where one is ground target and the other is target on the caster.

The only game I’ve never had issues playing a human is GW1. Partly because I didn’t have a choice but also partly because they did a great job with the story. I’ve had issues playing a human in this game for a long time until I finally made my GW1 necro as a ranger in GW2. I love her, she’s pretty and unique looking compared to most of the other humans around.

My other two are a charr (my main), and a sylvari.

My sylvari at least looks young adult then.
Yeap, no detection for a charr.
My poor ranger…she really isn’t that old.

I highly enjoyed the airplane effect as well. I would also be willing to buy a tonic that let my character do that whenever I wanted. Thank you Anet for the good chuckle.

I didn’t do much salvaging before the luck system was put in and I took about a six month break in there too. I still would’ve though I salvaged more. heh.

I would prefer a revert back to black text in the speech bubbles also. The green looks awful and is difficult to read.

Can’t interact with the mortar. Very annoyed with this being bugged.

I would love to see more ranger pets.

Here are a few that come to my mind that I’d like to see added:

dolyak
griffon
llama
rabbit
ram (hey it’s year of the ram after all!)

I would love for them to be added to the wallet. It’s a great feature and I wish they’d utilize it.

Also like the idea of an account key ring.

I want to thank you for those that have responded so far. I think we’ll end up having a tough choice to make!

Server preference: Tarnished Coast (we prefer a guild that is on our server and we are not willing to transfer)
Play Type Preference: We mostly PvE with some WvW thrown in although my husband has done mostly Edge of the Mists. I have run in EB and borderlands also.
Player Style: We think of ourselves as casual but are probably a bit above that.
Active Time: 7-10pm central (with some variant)
Voice preference: Would prefer optional voice. We have vent running so we can communicate since our computers are in different rooms.
Social preference: Friendly, active, and small to medium guild.
Body: Currently my husband and myself are part of a very small guild that is mostly made up of friends that we know outside of game (also known as the real world). However, we are the two most active and thus end up being on ‘alone’ most nights which is a bit lonely even though we duo. This has led us to decide that it’s time to look for a second active guild so that we have others to chat and group with. So a 100% rep required wouldn’t work for us since we will rep our current guild to stay in contact with our friends there.

PvE is what we mostly partake in but we’ve done some dungeons, WvW, and one fractal. We are looking to do more of that content and my husband is not against thoughts of PvP. We’re usually willing to try things and see if we like it. However, we are not into speed clears or zerging through content. We prefer to enjoy going through what the game has to offer.

Our play times can vary a bit. There are some weeks where all we have time and energy to do is dailies and then there are others where we have more time and energy to want to run extra things like dungeons. Thus required play times do not work for us but if there are scheduled events that are optional to attend that is fine

We want an active and friendly guild. A guild that chats in the in game channel (clean chat) and likes to do things together but is also ok if we want to go off and do our own thing too. We don’t want a guild that is just people who joined a guild to join a guild. We are definitely looking for a guild that is willing to run with any class and where people are willing to group with anyone.

If it sounds like we are being a bit picky, well we are. We don’t like to guild hop since it’s not fair to either side and it’s preferable to try and find the right fit sooner rather than later. Thus if it sounds like we may be a good fit for your guild either leave a response here or send an in game mail.

Some days the dailies are quick, others…not so much. Overall I rather like the new system but there are a few ughs.

I dislike the map specific event completion. In the lower level maps things squish so quickly from the swarm of 80’s that it’s difficult to get credit sometimes. I’d prefer a region vs. a specific map. If I can I skip this daily because it’s just uuuugh.

What’s up with the fractal dailies constantly? And having a double fractal daily in one day? C’mon…not everyone wants to do fractals thus it forces you to go into WvW or PvP to get all three. This is my biggest irk, is that there have been several days already with two fractal dailies in one day. I don’t do fractals and I do not like feeling as if I’m forced to do them.

Where are the dungeon dailies? I haven’t seen a one since the new system came out. Granted I’d prefer just the generic story or explorer daily vs. a specific dungeon. I would like to see these pop up again in the dailies but just one in a day for those who don’t want to run dungeons….

I’ve lost a few dear animal friends over the years and my husband and I share our lives with two wonderful cats. I also have shared 17 years with a wonderful horse (hopefully he’ll live at least that many more!).
It doesn’t matter how long you get to have them, they always leave an emptiness when gone.

I played some GW1 and always thought the charr were an awesome race. I didn’t care that they were killing the humans, I thought they looked cool. Then playing through EotN just helped cement that fact with Pierce.

However, I had issues playing a charr in GW2 once the game released. I just couldn’t find a look I liked well enough. So I ended up making a sylvari instead. Finally last fall my husband told me that I would like a charr so make a charr necro since I didn’t like an asuran necro. I tried to fight him about it a bit but well…I am now totally sold on charr. I love my charr female and I ended up making a female charr warrior as well.

The running animation on all fours is just fun, it makes the character feel playful in a way to me. The fact that they are more beast than human also endears them to me. I’ve never gotten to play such a beast like race. I can’t stand playing humans or half humans in games, I find them mundane and if I really want to be human I can just log off and live in the real world.

I think charr also seem to have the richest lore in the game. Sylvari are cool looking and are mysterious but I still wish I could do a race change on the one I have so I could have all three of my characters as charr.

Ele’s have really good dps and decent survivability once you have the traits you want and the gear you want at 80. I found getting there to be frustrating here and there but over all it wasn’t too horrible. My biggest issue with ele was that once I hit 80 and got the character into exotics and then ran a dungeon or two I found it boring. I found that the amount of dps out put was actually a turn off for me. Although the bigger turn off was the lack of being able to swap weapons in combat. Sure you can swap attunements but that just didn’t matter to me as much as swapping weapons. So that is something to think about. Thus due to boredom I actually deleted my ele.

Before I even tried playing an ele I had leveled a necro and fell in love with it. It fits my playstyle very well. I get to do my own thing in groups and yet I still add to the party with how I chose to build and how I choose to play. I have never met with resistance in dungeon groups for being a necro. Normally if anything is said it’s a compliment in how well I play.

So yeah, I may not be top tier at much of anything with my necro but I’m good all around and I tend to be the last one standing in a dungeon if the rest of the party goes down. I’ve finished fights more than once and then rez the rest of the group.

Your choice depends on your play style and how well you get to know your chosen class. I personally prefer the necro because I feel like there’s more to the class than an ele because of weapon swapping and feeling like I have more build options. Ele just feels like you pigeon hole yourself into one main attunement and then swapping to the others when needed for the utility of the skills.

And there’s always the option to level both. =)

Karashai shrugs her furry shoulders, “I do not know what I smell like, since I do not smell myself. No one has ever held their nose around me and told me to go take a bath so I assume that I do not smell as bad as a bandit or a krait.”
She then tilts her head thinking for a moment before continuing, "I do tend to run around different areas of Tyria a lot. I also enjoy helping people and by that I mean any race. I tend to help injured people the most. So, I probably smell of the out doors and maybe a bit like who ever I have helped.

“As for peanut butter, have you ever tried to eat the chunky stuff with sharp and point teeth? It’s a nightmare. So definitely the creamy peanut butter. It licks off the spoon much nicer.”

She scratches her head a moment thinking through the next question and then answers, “I would want five twenties, ten tens, and twenty fives. Easier to pay for things with smaller bills plus it makes a bigger wad to bat around.”

“Hmmm…pizza. That is something that I can get behind. It has to have extra cheese and peperoni. Nothing fancy to cover up the flavor of that delightful mozzarella.”

She chuckles and laughs, “Dogs? What would I have a use for one of those for? They are sappy animals that I don’t quite understand why the humans like them so much. So for me it’s more a matter of which one is most fun to chase.”

“I prefer humanities as I got into my profession to be something of a healer.” She yawns and stretches, “Now if you’ll excuse me it’s time to go find a nice place to curl up for a while.”

I was noticing this in Gendarren Fields today. I would get normal exp from mobs lvl 30 or higher but lvl 25-28 and especially lvl 29 mobs were barely giving any exp. I’m glad to know that it’s not just me.
I also had some waypoints and poi’s only give 25 or 15 xp.

The most recent one for my charr was getting called pretty in a dungeon run with PuGs.

I’ve been waiting for the digital upgrade to go on sale for several months as well. I would be spending real cash for the upgrade…so please discount it too, Anet?

One of the things I love about playing a charr is running on all fours. It’s like watching a happy kitty. However, giving people an option on how they want to run when the weapons are sheathed would be neat for those who would prefer to run like the two legs.

Like wise, I prefer doing jp’s on my charr now. Once I got used to doing them as a charr I’ve had a very hard time doing them with my sylvari. So my charr is now my default jp character.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a way to change race implemented. I am now at the point where I don’t want one for myself anymore but it would’ve saved me a lot of time if I could’ve had one to use.

2,011 hours and 58 minutes over the last 684 days. So roughly about 3 hours a day.
I did take a 6 month break at one point so that makes the numbers nicer. heh.

I would love to see more upgrades to the home instance. Maybe even give us a proper house to decorate….
If they made the nodes in the gem store into rich nodes, I’d so buy.
Love the thought of seeing your other characters in the home instance, even if they only appear in their proper race instance.

Personally I think any class combination with human and norn. If those are your favorite races that’s fine but personally I don’t care for playing them.

Or at least gives us a skin that allows barefoot. I had a hard time finding footwear for my charr. I finally went with the T1 footwear because as far as the light armor goes, it’s about as barefoot as you can get.

I love charr too. I agree that it’s because they are cat not cat girl/boy like you see a lot of other places. I love that they run on all four paws and that their tails are animated while standing still. My charr almost instantly became my main once I finally made her.

The biggest thing that bothers me with trying to clothe charr is that there are so many skirts and coats…like I want to be running on all fours and have that hanging off my waste to trip over. I’d like to see more pants that are just pants and nothing dangling off them.
