I am frequently having an issue with my cursor disappearing. Just gone. The only way to get it back is to exit the game and relog. Has anyone else had this issue?
Should mention that I am running in windowed mode so I can get to things like wiki and whatnot
Well this sucks. I’m sitting at 0% now with 1 file to download and it’s at 4.1 GB?? 0% at 4.1GB??? Can we get a dev or someone from Anet to say something? I have wasted a second night now waiting for this to download. I tried for 3 hours tonight. Very very irritated at this point.
I’m at 96% with 1.5 Gb downloaded. The same thing happened yesterday and I finally gave up after two hours when I had to get some sleep. I’m trying again tonight but this is really frustrating.
I’m mostly avoiding the forums just so I don’t accidentally read a spoiler. Just how big is this freaking download???
Mine still isn’t completing the download. I get to 1 file left, download speed drops real low and then jumps back up. Rinse and repeat. I tried some things I found on reddit to no avail.
I’ve been trying for two hours and I’m done trying. It’s late and I have to work tomorrow. Maybe Anet will have their crap together by the time I try again.

I didn’t see a price for them either. And doing a google search for TOPOP found nothing. Do they have a website where we can see these things? I wondered if they were even a company when amazon had no information on them.
I had the same problem just a few minutes ago. Tried to enter EotM on a character, bugged out, couldn’t log in on any character. I just now was able to log back in
I will not be using the gem store again. I spent real money purchasing gem cards in order to get town clothes for my characters. Those clothes have now been turned in to what I consider useless tonics or one-piece sets that do not allow mix and matching of clothes. And I can’t get my money back. The gem store can rot for all I care.
You’ve hit the nail on the head with this post. Nice job. Sadly I am not convinced that Anet will listen/read/care.
For me the Cons (and you’ve listed several that affect me) are outweighing the pros with this “Feature” update. The megaserver system is going to fracture the RP community and I am very disappointed that Anet didn’t even consider that when they made came up with this idea. it just shows how little they think of a portion of their playerbase.
In my opinion, this whole exercise is just going to turn out into a cash grab masked as a content update..
What I find surprising is that I was just talking about this patch feeling like a cash grab just last night.
I played GW1 from beta until release of GW2 with a few months break in the middle of the 2 games. So that’s around 7 years, I think. Last night was the first time I logged in and after assessing all the changes just didn’t feel like playing and logged back out.
One of the things that bothers me is that Anet has changed several of the mechanics of the game just a little over a year after release. Does that seem strange to anyone else or is it just me? I’d like to think that if I developed a game I wouldn’t have to change so many mechanics a year later. Feels like things weren’t thought through at the beginning.
I’m sitting here typing this, my character is standing in EBG, and I’m not sure I even feel like playing. crud.
I’d like to just comment regarding these “improvements”. The change to town clothes is really disappointing. Anet, you should have taken a page from LotRO with regard to this one.
What you have implemented really just feels like a money grab. But more and more of the things you implement feel that way. I’d been purchasing gem cards every month but I do believe that is going to stop. I will speak with my wallet.
Anet should have looked at how a couple other companies have done their wardrobes. LotRO did a very good job with theirs. You could have different cosmetic outfits that you switched to. There is a small cost to unlock but it allows for so much diversity in outfits.
Having played GW1 and GW2 since their betas, I’m not happy to see LA fall. LA is an integral part of Tyria to me. Hopefully another “Cobiah Marriner” comes along and rebuilds it again.
I don’t go to Kessex Hills anymore since it was ruined. And like several other posters I will probably not visit LA much either. It seems the more we go along this LS road, the less I visit Tyria.
I just want to say grats to JQ for the win this week and thanks to both JQ and SoR for all the great fights. I’ve had a lot of fun. I’m sure we’ll see you guys again sometime.
I have given up on thisLS. I do not have time or a desire to wait around for a zerg and in my opinion you shouldn’t need a zerg to move through a level. Taking on an instanced portion ok, but moving to those instances? nty
I’m seeing the same problem with this achievement. I ONLY get credit if I hit the gate with a ram, wall with cata or treb. Several others on my server are not having this issue. Very annoying and needs looked at.

Real sorry about that. For some reason I ended up having everyone follow me and I didn’t know our zerg was coming to that bridge. Major panic when I saw them. and many "NOOOO"s. I was very happy when Handin came back online.

I’ve been trying to enjoy the new content but I’m sorry, this is way to much of the new “jumping” mechanics. Just to much anet. When you combine it with the lag that is hitting a lot of people it makes the new content not fun

The battle for Overlook Keep was crazy. SoS, you got many loot bags from my little Asura ele. I’m hoping one of you got a precursor out of it. You deserve it.

I’ve had a lot of fun today which I didn’t expect. Started the morning (7am US EST) following a couple great commanders. SoS was running us all over the place. Really brought it to us.

Well the new matchup system has given us an interesting one for sure. SoS is gaining rank so much it’s amazing. Hats off to you guys and gals. FA, I guess we are just stuck with each other. lol
I was having a similar issue. Posted a thread here on the forums but not sure how far back it is now. I finally submitted a ticket to support and they are working with me rather nicely to get it solved.
One thing I found out today is my CPU and RAM were both overclocked. It seems that GW2 does not like an overclocked CPU or RAM. I’ve set mine back to stock. I’d suggest trying that to see if it helps.
And even if you didn’t overclock your system you’ll still want to check it. I didn’t overclock mine but there were to program in the bios that overclocked both the CPU and RAM. Anet had me download a program called “Speccy” which gives a lot of info on your hardware.
The other thread was started by me. I never heard anything back after uploading the stuff Ashley asked for. I see she recommends submitting tech support tickets now. Guess that’s what I’ll try. I just now had a freeze after 5 minutes in game. Very frustrated atm.
The skill balancing in GW2 reminds me of the skill balancing in GW1. I wonder if the same person(s) that did skill balancing in GW1 are doing the balancing here in GW2…
I would tend to disagree about how many we have gotten, as well as the effect they, and other changes, have had on my beloved TC community. I have lead TCBL almost daily for 5 months…. I salute my Guild, Primal Fury and the TC Militia, with whom I have spent many a 10 hour day….but I am, sadly, looking for another server.

I’m still having the issue and I see several other folks are having this issue or at least a similar issue. I’ve not heard anything from ArenaNet after that initial request from Ashley.
I’m tempted to uninstall and reinstall like Zafira did. Would like to hear something back from ArenaNet before doing that though.

KN won’t be the same without WM and CO, they made an impact and I always enjoyed going up against them when I could. Good luck to WM, CO, and KN as they move in different directions.
My first game was on a Magnavox Odyssey. I’m surprised I didn’t see that machine mentioned. Living in the country, we didn’t get internet for years and I played a lot of single player strategy games growing up. Not even sure I can think of titles at this point. Several Revolution, Civil War, and WW2 games IIRC.
This week of all weeks we’ve had so far really makes the difference and the tension must be getting to some of you guys.

I normally read this thread at work during my lunch but last weeks didn’t get read much. And this weeks won’t either judging by how it’s starting to look. Guys, try to keep the thread clean from the junk. Good banter is great, bad banter is just ugh.
Yesterday I froze 3 times in an hour. I was on my Ele. Twice I was in Wvw, once in Lion’s Arch. The time at Lion’s Arch I was standing at the Mystic Forge not doing anything at the time.
Today I played several hours on my Thief. Didn’t freeze even once. I know it’s weird but could this be related somehow to what profession I’m on? That’s sounds absolutely crazy now that I typed it out. Hmm.
I don’t mind sharing that info, especially if it helps you folks figure out what is going on. even moreso if it helps solve the issue for other folks as well.
The Game Advisor program saved the file as a .zip. However, the forums do not allowed .zip attachments so I uploaded the .txt file that was in the .zip file.

On a positive note, I played WvW for a few hours tonight and did not freeze up.
Okay, tried that. I monitored my CPU and GPU temps waiting for the game to freeze. When it finally did, my cpu and gpu were both under 50 C. So I’m back asking for more suggestions of things to check.
Not even sure if I should post this or send in a tech support ticket but going to try the post first. Maybe someone else has had this problem and found a fix.
I am frequently having the game lock up my entire system. The screen freezes up and there is a loud buzz from my speakers. The only way to get out of this is a hard reset.
System info: Intel i5, Nvidia GTX570 310.90 drivers, 8gig, Windows 7 64-bit
Anyone else having this issue or do I have something I need to replace. I have had this crash twice tonight while in EB within an hour of each other. I’m so frustrated right now I’m ready to quit playing.
This is actually a tough question for me and one I had to think about for a little bit.
I really enjoyed GW1 but not because of the F2P model. It was the lore, the events, the expansions, all of that. But a time came that my guild shrank and the core of us moved on to a sub game.
Enter LotRO. Tolkien’s Middle-Earth. Nice graphics, lots of space to explore, a more traditional MMO from GW1. And a new experience for me as my first traditional MMO. And I paid a subscription for it. Still do in fact. I’m downloading the most recent update as I type. But my sub only costs $10 a month. And yes, I know LotRO has gone F2P but I enjoy the subscriber benefits enough to keep paying.
But I’m not sure GW2 is a game I would pay a monthly fee for. There are little things that bother me that I didn’t encounter in LotRO. And that game is the only thing I have for comparisons. But there are a few pluses that might get me.
Really poor decision by someone at Arenanet. However, I will continue to play on all my characters. They will just progress slower than the person that plays on the same character. I like variety in my game.
I had this problem for months. Then I read a thread on this forum that offered a possible solution. I think (wish I remembered for sure) that the fix was turn turn the Frame Limiter in the graphics options to 30.
I know the Frame Limiter says it is for power and heat and this doesn’t seem power or heat related but I wasn’t having a heat issue either. Try it and see if it helps. In the mean time I’ll see if I can find that thread I read.
Edit: Forgot to mention I now play with the graphics settings set to High, something I couldn’t do before without frequent crashes.
