Love that it seems Arenanet have abandoned map wide metas, and returned to are more core like experience. (to me the map wide metas in HoT was my biggest complaint/concern, after the annoying adventures)
Quite surprised about mounts, but will wait with a final judgement on them until I’ve seen them in the core maps.
What I saw of the first map looked great.
The heart “Help Aksim care for and train raptors” was boring and took alot of extra time to get.
Unidentified loot are an acceptable solution to inventory clutter.
Like the new material boxes as drops, not sure if it’s a good idea to be able to buy them of vendors.
Not sure if I like the bounty mechanic.
Loved the chef mastery point, it was more fun for me to play than any of the adventures in HoT.
Always great to see new monters to fight.
No champion hero points, thats a big thumbs up from me.
Disappointed that the elite specs was not included, as I don’t expect the partake in the pvp preview as I don’t pvp.
Are hoping that the new maps will have alot of gw1 references, like the core game had.

It might be the first time that the particular staffer had to deal with such a request. It might be that the staffer got burned by someone claiming they “lost” an SAB infusion and is now being triply sure on all future, irreversible requests.

Actually there was more than one staffer involved in my case.
The first guy kinda refused to do anything.
Then I made a counter argument, and another from support told me to supply a screenshot of my character with the item.
Then a third supporter asked me to supply him with screenshots of completing either of the two story acts (I already supplied a screenshot of the achievements, to prove that I actually took part in the Halloween events in 2012).
Then after a few more exchanges a fourth supporter went through my supplied evidence and then sent me the “Mad Memoires: Complete Edition”.
After yet another ticket one of the other guys that handled my case, then sent me Mad Memoires.
The entire process took 3 days. So be patient when trying to get it back

If you have the corresponding achievements unlocked, support should be able to unlock the skin for you. They did it last year for my account, as I could prove I had the complete edition before it was lost during the wardrobe introduction.

I also had it unlocked last year, however the achievement was not enough, they also wanted screenshoots of my character completing the achievement (act 1 or act 2), where my id was visible.
I ended up getting it due to other screenshoots of my main wearing the complete book, and link to a forum I posted the image on and then additional evidence that the poster was indeed me.
So it took some work and alot of looking up old screenshoots for me

Wait a few days before you change anything, on the 13th we will get a balance path. It may change the meta a bit.
You can always check out metabattle.com to see if you can find a build without HoT

It’s to make a bigger demend, when the items are put back in. Most of the discontinued items will find its way back at some time.

Actually they are willing to help out. And as Kythan Myr says that he had the upgraded version he should be able to get the basic from them. As long as he can document he has the upgraded one.

Back in March I tried my luck with support for Mad Memories, as I deleted the 2 versions before the wardrobe system. And after alot of writing back and forth, I eventually got both versions from them.
The most impotent thing to have in order to get it, are screenshots of your character wearing the upgraded version of the book, and providing documentation that the screenshots are indeed you.

I kinda feel sorry for you Coldtart.4785, what are you gonna do after you completed that adventure ? as it seems it’s the only thing in the game you think are fun to do. Because if you have other fun things to do in the game, you you could do them while waiting for that specific adventure to unlock.

That quote don’t say anything about “waiting to have fun”. Only that they want players to get to the fun faster.

But if your definition of fun are to kill one moa in one specific event…what will you do for fun once you kill that moa ?
But remember if you find something else to be fun after the kill, why did it only become fun after you killed the moa, why was that not fun while you where waiting for the moa ?

As others have pointed out you are allowed to do other things while waiting for it to be active. In regards to “no more waiting to have fun” you have taken that senteance out of contex. Whenever a-net have said that they, have refered to waiting for a specific class to do dungeons and similar stuff NOT events

I kinda had a similar experience the first few times I did Dungeons on story mode, i even got kicked from groups because I watched the cut scenes and this was a few months after launch.
The solution for me was to play the storymode dungeons with my guildies or just go on youtube watch the cinematic and skip the dungeon, in the cases I could not get any guild groups.

As Esquilax suggest use the lgf and specify that you intend to watch the cut scenes or add that it’s your first time in the dungeon. But the best thing would be to find a friendly guild and team up with other beginners or friendly veterans that would be willing to help you experience the cut scenes and surroundings in dungeon.

Well if it was that easy as you liked to think, then it would have been done years ago, since it’s been a wish from alot of players since launch.

Don’t just asume something are easy programming wise, just beacuse it sounds easy.

You need to keep in mind that the server population are calculated on basis of the population in world vs world.
In pve you are mixed with all the other servers on “mega servers”. You can even join guilds from other servers and play with them (unless it’s wvw).

And as Shukriyya said, underworld are guesting on Farshiverpeaks in World vs World at the moment, so in theory you are playing world vs world on a full server at the moment.

You can send items across EU and the US, even the tradingpost in the game covers both regions.

Did you have those scrolls in the bank or on a character. If you had them in the bank they should be converted to shards right away.
If you have them in the inventory on one character you need to log in with that character to get them converted.

So your really arguing that You think its reasonable to pay $15 to upgrade 1 characters bag slots to max for a game that is now 3 years old, and in addition the other method of obtaining these bags has also risen as I have said, to a staggering 180g in game currency as well. No matter how you look at it the game has aged and the price of buying something that is considered essential Utility (even more so now that so many new items have been introduced thus taking up even more space) has risen “Overall” when you take into account all of the methods of obtaining gems.

No I’am not arguing about the price on the bag slots, just your claim that gems are more expensive now than at launch.

I do agree that the price of the bag slots are to high if you only look at pure value for money. Thats why I have bought a few extra character slots instead since you get more bag space compared to what you get for your money on one extra bag slot.

However you should also add what ever value you put on convinence for the extra bag slot. With the extra bag slot you could save a trip to the bank and the time it takes to transfer stuff from one character to the bank and then to the mule character and the other way round once you need the items.

I did however buy all bag slots for my main character, but only when the bag was on sale (yes they did go on sale at least one time after launch can’t remember when) and to me that was value enough for my money.

You should also keep in mind that the exchange rate could change even more when the bag slots go on sale or drop in price, since alot of people would most likely exchange their gold for gems in order to get those bag slots and then it would cost you even more gold to get the gems and by that even more time than it would take for you to buy gems for real money.

When the game came out 400 gems per bag slot was no big deal. Gems are inflated now and it still costs 1200 gems to upgrade one character to max bag slots.

Sorry to tell you this but gems costs the same as they did at launch….800 gems for €10

Not sure if you know the facts about SAB.
But the primary reason for it being gone are that it don’t work anymore. As it broke due to some of the new changes they added to the game engine. So they need to rewrite alot of the code for it, and currently all the resources are concentrating on getting HoT ready for release.

Arenanet used to be better in those areas, but then the community ruined it.
The best example of this are the 2013 blog post where Arenanet shared the plans about what they WANTED to do in the future, the result was the community started to whine when some of the things was postponed or even cancelled.

After that Arenanet have been more careful about what they reveal of their plans.

Correct and if you have more keys than you can spend doing a sandstorm it sounds like you have done that area quite a few times, so being afk for 10-30 minutes would propperly not hurt you in any way. Think of the positives you can go out and get some fresh air while you wait

I agree adding a drytop chest to the homeisntace wont hurt, but I personally can’t see why.
I’ve never had to many keys, I tend to run out before the sandstorm ends, but then again I don’t do long farms…..

We all have a bunch of Zephyrite Lockpick that are never used because Dry Top is dead since the introduction of Silverwastes. Maybe at least give us this chest that we can open daily in our home-instance, just like the Bandit Chest?

Many players are saying that there is no new content and that they have nothing to do while waiting for HoT to come out.
Perhaps we could have small rewards like these to work on in the meantime? Even small rewards like these make people happy, and also count as content.

Why a chest ? You don’t need to do events in order to start the sandstorm, just wait there until a sandstorm starts and run for chests.

Well I’am not one of the so called “many”, but then again I have a life on the side and don’t spend 5-10 hours each day in a game thats designed to support casual players instead of hard core players.
For me theres still alot to do..heck I leveled my 4 lasts alts I started at the headstart a few months ago, so I finally have one of each profession at level 80…..

Yes if you want the level 80 skin you would need the transmution crystal. It dont matter which weapon goes into what side as you can switch the stats and skins around until you are satisfied with the final look.
Yes you can apply the ascended skin to the exotc weapon.

But If I where you I would wait until the April patch (April 15) since you then will have the wardrobe and potetiall more skins.

Same here and alot of members in my guild are also having the issue. Those that zoned out after the last invasion got disconnected. And everyone have either cant connect to login server or unable to authenticate account

Argh come on….I know the game are free to play but these bugs are getting annoying. I had great hopes for the game, but I’m starting to have my doubts and as a result I won’t be buying more gems untill I know you are able to run a bug less event.
So if Wintersday proves to be bug less, then I will start supporting the game once more.

Are you gonna fix the problem with the missing guards for the “Intimidate Subdirector Noll” aswell ?

Theres an easy solution that I used in my guild. We created a new rang, that had the samme priviliges as the leader rang and put those in that was supposed to have full access. The “old leader” rank then still have the option to demote those with the “new leader” rang, if the need arise.

I miss that feature as well.

Also it would be nice to have something similar telling how long a player have represented his guild, that way it would be alot easier cleaning the roster of members that never represent the guild.
