I represent 100% of the time and play 4-6 hours per day. I try to be at all Guild Missions and will help anytime I am needed. Please give me a shout if you are on TC and need a new guild member.

So, I did uninstall the client I had on the system and download the 64 bit Beta client and I played for 2 hours with no crash or freeze. I hope that is the end of it for me. It is sort of weird to me because, my system is 64 bit and a fairly new Alienware with 16gb ram and a geforce gtx 860 with 4 gb of video memory so it is really odd to me why it made a difference with the 64 bit client. If it starts crashing/freezing again I will come back and post again.

I am running a fairly new Alienware 18 with some pretty nice stats on it. I have had a few crashes today where it freezes up my entire system and I have to reboot. I do not get a BSOD or anything the desktop is there and I can start task master to try and stop the GW2 client through that but it simply says “not responding”. I then have to do a restart to get the GW2 client to stop and after restarting it plays again. The lengths of time from launch to freeze is never the same amount of time it is really random. I am going try downloading the 64 bit beta and see if this resolves it. If it does not I will be back to post one way or the other. I only crashed/froze 2 times in a 4 hour time span. I see so many people in my guild and in game crashing freezing as well so this is not something on the customers end . This is most certainly something client side.

I am not sure if anyone else has had this issue but, I updated my Nvidia Driver for my gtx 980 × 2 and GW2 starts and then the screen loads and once I appear in map it starts stuttering and freezes game. I had to roll back my driver and all is well again. I guess it maybe something with the new driver code not working right with the GW2 code or something not sure. Has anyone else had to roll back their Nvidia driver from the 358.xx line of drivers? ON the upside I did buy a brand new Alienware 18 laptop with duel gtx 980 in it with the intel i-7core and 32gb of ram along with 580gb SSL and 1tb hd’s. I am super happy to be playing GW2 HoT on this bad boy!!!!

There is an old saying that goes" If it seems to good to be true , then it is too good to be true". I mean you see a site selling something that cost 49.99 minimum from the actual developer of the game for 30.00 bucks you better believe it is too good to be true. In today’s internet market it is very much the consumers responsibility to do a little research and know what he or she is getting into and not just accept things for face value and then blame or expect the original owner to take the loss in these situations.

So January until October 23 is a really long time to go without living story in my opinion and a really bad idea. I have loved and stood behind this game and will continue to do so but, it has been so very long without the much needed story driven updates. This makes me sad.

I read it as only 25% of the 1st map in all would be shown during beta weekends. I do not think we have seen 50% of the first map with what the last 2 weekends have shown. I sure hope not. This new area is nice but, I was hoping for more of what the POI’s indicated in that there would be a Top, Middle, and Floor to each of the new areas and so far I have not seen that. I have seen a map that requires of lot of going up and down inclines but, there is not a subsurface level as was sort of indicated in POI’s in my opinion.

That being said. To me from all that I have played of it and read about it, yes for sure it is a great value and worth it. The Ultimate edition was what I bought in at to show my support for Arenanet. I think all the updates to the classes and the new masteries and the new Class Revenant alone was enough to call it an expansion but, there is so much more being brought to Tyria with this expansion. If you like GW2 and like the company then purchasing HoT is a no brainer. If you are a super casual player that, can take it or leave it then maybe it will not be worth it to you?

I do not want Arenanet to show us much more of the expansion before launch because, it will take away from the special feeling of launch. We want to feel like we are playing a new and improved GW2. We should not expect a whole New and totally different game.

I am really surprised that anyone would think Arenanet would deceitfully charge a sales tax illegally. That is a pretty serious insinuation if not accusation to allege against a company. It’s ok to not know the tax status of digital items but, to outright accuse people of committing tax fraud is serious and should not go unnoticed.

Not just skins, it is minis, and other things as well. I guess that is what the " snapshot" thing means. It’s sorta weird starting out in silverwastes this time …with no guild access either.

It was worth it for me. I bought the 99.99 USD level called Ultimate. I did so because, I wanted to support a company that gives me a lot of pleasure in my life. I did so right when they put it up for pre-purchase and can not wait until release of the expansion. I think if you are going to play for sure the expansion and you can ford to be without the cost of the expansion from now until release then yes it is worth it. If money is tight and you really need that money to survive on then wait until release to buy it.

I was honestly hoping for an August 28th release to coincide with the first game release date but, that isn’t going happen. I do not mind waiting because, I know they want us to have a complete and great expansion not something they rush out to satisfy our impatience. I know it will be worth the wait and I am happy I was able to get the Ultimate level of HoT expansion. Hope it is before the holidays start so I can be playing it during boring family get together…lol!!!

Arenanet has already made it clear that the game will be released in 2015. So the question of it being in this year is established already.

I would have to agree with the OP in that the pre-purchasers should be the first pool that they send the “special invites” out to. It is not wrong to feel that being a loyal customer and putting your hard earned cash out there before you actually receive the item will entitle you to a front line status. That being said, I bought the Ultimate edition and am just happy to support a brand I love. I did not buy it to be in beta weekends. I bought it because, I love the game.

I have been a fan for a long time. I have really enjoyed playing GW2 and went ahead and bought HoT Ultimate edition yesterday. I am just curious what people think is the reason or strategy of not giving a release date or approximate target time frame like say " We will release sometime in Fall " or " We are shooting for a Holiday Release "?
It is ok with me but, just was curious what other player thought about how the release dates are being handled? Are you OK with not knowing and buying without any idea of when you might play?

I pre-ordered the Ultimate edition and I have a character slot that says beta on it. I am not sure if that is what you are speaking of but, if so then yes I have it already. I also got the 4k gems already and all the digital items like glider and Revenant Rytlock the guild thing and something else.

I spent 99.99 plus tax today for the Heart of Thorns expansion and I have spent thousands of dollars on Gems from day one until now and do not regret a moment of it. I enjoy this game so much and has brought me and family together for quality game time together. I wish people would try and think about the purchase as a way of supporting the company and brand rather then focusing on what the rest of the genre is doing or has done. I am just pointing out that it is a matter of perspective and how much you really want to support the brand. I think in the long run including the core game as part of the Heart of Thorns is going to save many head aches for the company and the players.

I am totally in love with the game and have only good things to say about the game. I am a staunch fan boy and was in love the first beta weekend I played…..I actually have difficulty playing any other MMO after playing GW2.

Ok on the subject of an expansion. I am not reading as much about wanting or needing an expansion as much as I am reading many players threatening to leave the game. I for one am happy to see GW2 finally settling into the really hardcore and dedicated player base that is starting to emerge. The reality is that with the content additions that have been made they have really satisfied more then they have disappointed. I am happy that they are creating new and innovative content on a regular basis and if you have come to a point that you are bored in the game it is not anyone’s fault but, your own. The game is meant to stimulate your imagination and provide a platform for one to build characters that you love enough to stay with and play the game. If you are 100% on all your characters and you have done or seen all that the game has to offer then maybe this is not the game for you if you are still bored. I would bet that most of the people posting that they need an expansion are not 100% complete on all character types. The reality is that I can create another elementalist of a different race and have a whole new experience that last ages. The reality is there is more then enough to do to keep us immersed with out any question. Thank You Arena net for not charging me every time you add a new zone or redo the features.

This is exactly what the members of Seasons of Change [lgbt] on tarnished coast were thinking all day long as well. We had our top OP players that run Ararah(sp?) explore in hour tops with little to no wiping. I was out here with them on 3 occasions and it was a chaotic nonsense, but the launch plates are freaking awesome as was so much more. Not a bug I don’t think, whenever I go to interact with these items for the achievement my character uses the /no emote and refuses to interact with it, what’s up with that?

I am on tarnished Coast and nor I or any of my guild mates have had this issue and this is the first I have heard of it. I do however know that this is the easiest part of the event it seems, HOPE it gets sorted for you

Tarnished Coast is our home world server but, we have no issue with members guesting but, keep in mind you can not join in on WvWvW with u or run some of the Guild Missions very effectively. That being said:

I am not sure but, I do know this……this particular living story content is the grindiest and least interesting for me thus far. World Invasions is a lot like RIFT does and I left RIFT for this because it was different…please stir in a different direction. The going around the world needing to solve mysteries and riddles as you battle epic creatures is a wonderful way of experience GW2. The game is magnificent and you guys and gals at Arenanet have given me my life’s dream fulfilled in GW2 but, please do not lower your bar or standard and put out something with a little more substance then this particular one. I mean fighting hoards of mutated enemies that we fight on a regular basis already? Really ? we can do better I am sure.

I have really enjoyed the F&F content tremendously and can not wait to see what is next for the summer. I will say that the whole retro console game thing that was thrown in there was a little odd and I personally would have liked to see something that corresponded with F&F be thrown in. It distracted from the whole plight of the refugees and took some time away from me grinding the F7F content like I should have kept all attention on. I LOVE ALL that the game has and will be and it gets old seeing all the cut downs and insults towards these people hard work. I apologize to the creators and developers and I Thank you for all you do. Keep it coming I will continue to shell out my money for the game every week faithfully.

I personally wanted to start a thread about the great things GUILD WARS 2 is and what you love about the game. I love everything about it. I have not found one thing in the game that upset me or made me not enjoy the game for any reasons. I think the art work and the attention to detail is one of my favorite aspects. The way the Asura flips and changes the hand holding their staff while casting fire storm is just one of the things that shows what detail went into making the avatars feel like actual entities. I have a level 80 and he has yet to complete 35% of the world map in 3 months…there is just so much to see if you are really looking. I love that……..The attention to detail and style and game play and mechanics have been so enjoyable for me as a player. This topic is for things you LIKE about GW2 now please stay on TOPIC. TY

I’ve personally and know 12 others that have not experienced one bug in the game since launch so, I know you guys all claim they exists and are not being resolved but, for those of us not experiencing them it is hard to just watch you beat up on a great game. Funny how there are no YouTube videos or any proof about all these bugs you guys are talking about.

As sad as it makes me to say this….this game is just not for everyone. I mean you have a choice to play it and enjoy it and accept it for the awesome game that it is or stay nostalgic and want your old game back. Change happens as in the case here and it is a personal choice to embrace it or complain and ask why why why….but, you will never get a good answer to any of the things you ask so sorry to say just deal with it or fold up.

The transfer system works fine for me as I play with people in my guild on my world as it is suppose to be. Because you personally want to hop servers frequently does not make it a flaw in the game design. It makes it a flaw in your play style.

This should not be a surprise to any of us who are seasoned MMOers. Look at other titles and as you know people flock to certain towns or areas for specific reasons and the rest of the world feels barren. I for one have no issue with this other then it can make some of the karma events a bit not doable solo. On the other hand I enjoy exploring so much that even if someone was with me I am lost in the gorgeous surroundings so I pay little attention to who is around. Now if you find a good active guild they always have groups running stuff together so really it is up to you to get in groups if you make a little effort this should not be an issue.

The Forums for the most part seem to be filled with immature posts of self entitled nonsense. They are full of demands and people making it seems as though they are the end all of the game life if their demands do not get met. Then you have the other half that are actually trying to share information but, come on read the TOPICS in general discussion it is a whine fest…nothing but nonstop whining and complaining and it is sicking really. I agree with the poster named Tiresias.6473 the game is AWESOME and I am having a blast and everything that is complained about in the forums seem really superficial and again only things self entitled people have issues with. The way the community is acting the company may be scared to do anything for fear of backlash.

This is going to take some time for us to get the community the way we need it to be. We also have the immature riffraff that just likes to be nasty to strangers for sure bliss of anonymity’s thrill. I feel like as we all play together longer and UTILIZE the Verbal Abuse Report option, then the community will take care of itself and we will see less of this. GW2 does not mess around with bullies and verbal abusers…they deal with it sternly. They can not take effective actions if they are unaware….so please use report. TY

If you’re seeing empty zones, consider changing servers. I’ve been on two different servers in my time on GW2 (which started during the three-day headstart), and I have yet to encounter a single empty zone or an event that did not have plenty of people involved to beat it.

As far as the Ascended items are concerned, do what a large majority of us do…ignore it. Having or not having those items doesn’t affect how we play the game at all. I don’t think that this will change.

A year from now, I think this game will be doing fine.

Try to relax. It’s just a game. And, at this point, it is what you make of it.

Please tell me what world you are on? because , I have been on TC and now on HoD and the zones are always always dead. I truly feel like I am in a single player game unless I am in LA.

OK this is something that has been going on for the duration of the game and I have seen no one from Arena net address it……when I type in chat sometimes the keyboard becomes unresponsive. I know that is an issue with GW2 chat only because I can alt tab out and type the same sentence in any other program with no issues. This is very annoying and for a game that advertises the social aspect being a key part of the experience there are too many SOCIAL issues with chat and grouping and overflow and so on and so on…this all needs to be solved asap the community is becoming less patient with you on these issues. I know 3 people that have put the game down for now to try back after a few months for improvement based on social issues only. That is sad.

The trading post is already smart enough to not let me sell an item at below NPC merchant’s value. So why doesn’t it apply this filter to the buyer? That is, as a buyer, I shouldn’t be able to post a an offer less than (NPCvalue+1)/.85. If I post an offer at that price, after the 15% “tax,” the seller will get NPC value +1 copper, the minimum profit for the effort.

Why, pray tell, should the system force everyone to profit?

Secondly, what is your solution to devalue the currency such that it combats the inflation this creates?

Inventory price filter:
While we’re at it, as a seller, when I open the “sell your inventory on BLTC” tab and see my whole inventory, I think it’d be really spiffy if there was a filter to display only my items that selling the item to the highest buyer would yield a x% profit over just vendoring it. Those items could be “no brainers” for me, and then for the rest of the items I could evaluate what I wanted to do.

If there’s anything we can glean from your post it’s that your solutions are to create “no thought” from a seller’s perspective.

Your first proposal is unfortunately not going to work without a solution to balance out the inflation; your second is a nicety but stop being lazy.

Lazy is a derogatory term that is not being respectful or community minded to the OP. I think you should refrain from calling people lazy and then smiling like it makes it any better that you insulted him. He brings up a very legitimate situation for many players as is reflected by the amount of thought others have put into the discussion. If things can not be listed to sell less then vender value then in turn they should not be aloud to be ordered less then vender value. It is simple not in anyway an expression of laziness. Would you suggest that he double check every posted order for the variance of vender values and orders requested paying price while using the market? I would think that is a bit excessive and extreme for an MMO.

I can not see how this would matter unless you are a gold farmer planning to use gems for gold and resale the gold IRL…other then that it should not matter. The things in the game are so super cheap you do not need more then 2-3 on you at all times really and with that you are considered rich by Tyrian standards.

If you will delete those 10 emails out of you inbox the messages with dyes will show up. There is a 10 messages inbox limit.

Well it is in a sense free storage if he can leave the things on Market indefinitely and only pick up what he wants when he wants. Now I can also see how allowing the items to be picked up as you like and not all at once can make for exploitative ways to manipulate the market by say buying up all of this type and allowing it to sit for 6 months then flooding market with the items. If this was not in place a person would have to NOT buy anything else from market as they would not be able to get to it. There currently is not limit to the amount of purchased items can sit there and I have not seen a “pick up by this time deadline” imposed like other games do. Blizzard applied 30 day expiration to in game messages with or with out attachments for this very reason. The person you replied to saying declarative “No it’s not, he is asking……” was stating their opinion based on their experience and perception so you can not say that definitively that is not in essence what the OP is requesting.

The company has resolved my issue and made me very happy and feel valued as a player. I am collecting colors and mini’s on several characters on two accounts so you can see that it can get expensive fast. The duplication of minis and colors makes it thus. The satisfaction I get though from looking at my hero page and seeing 200+ colors makes me happy. I have gotten 32 out of the 54 minis. The Legendary must be as hard as winning the lottery though because 900.00+ into it we have yet to score a legendary mini which is a little disappointing. I wonder if they have been added to game even as of now. I sure hope I don’t find out later that they are not even attainable at the time I am trying for them.

I LOVE GW2 . The game has hands down done more then I expected for my MMO experience. I was down skeptical and just did not see how it would get my spirit back in the game but, it did just that. I have had so much fun and for 3 weeks the game has fascinated me at every turn. I started on my first day collecting dyes and mini’s me and my wife. We both have the same CC with two different names on it. It is the same number though. So after spending 600 dollars combined between us the people at ArenaNet decided to start giving us a hard time about the transactions. I am saddened because, we have had so much fun and really want to continue our journey in Gw2 but, if this is the way the company plans to treat customers we may have to go on and resume our journeys elsewhere. We are both hairstylist so we will load up our tip money that we can spare and buy Gems so some days we spend 50 each and others maybe 10-20 each but we buy Gems everyday trying to get our collection completed. Now we are going have to create a ticket every time we wish to buy gems because, they will need to give us permission to spend our hard earned cash with them. This is all in the name of security we are aware of that but, we feel it is going to a bit of an extreme and putting unwarranted suspect status on two very loyal customers that spend a great deal of time and money to support the company. To require us to send in tickets to get a 48 hour window to buy gems is very harsh and it may just be the reason we leave.
