I like how far I’ve gotten as a Ranger. I have played it so long I feel I have mastered most techniques and builds (still making new ones). I love supporting in WvW against fight guilds while still dishing out damage. The CC that I am capable of spamming is quite fun. I just enjoy being useful again.
If you are using grace of the land, the bet is to stay as long as possible within CAF.
Otherwise don’t bother, using CAF will make you to miss rewards as you are healing and not tagging.
Wouldn’t blasting out some heals on allies for grace of the land and jumping out of CAF as soon as possible to dps again be more practical?
No, because the staff is pure power and the damage is really bad.
The boon doesn’t last very long and if you don’t use staff building up the AF is hard.
Isnt that why people are running aoe regen and the numerous small tic heals? And ofcoarse Astral wisp continues even after weapon swapping.
Last time i checked regen didn’t fill up the bar, but this class has got so may changes that i can’t say what is working and what is not anymore…
I just checked because I thought the same and the healing from regen is based off your healing power and counts towards AF when put on other people.
Clerics. The druid contributing damage isn’t important to the success of the raid.
This isn’t true. Having more DPS is always a good thing in raids. If a Druid can fulfill it’s role while also dishing out decent DPS then they should. Same with the raid’s tank.
Agreed but the buffs a Druid will be giving to their raid members will be enough to be extremely useful. Of course auto attacking with staff while not actively healing a particular group is good and can always use more direct damage but your modifiers are godlike. Also a neat thing I found out a couple days ago is the seeds that spawn when using a Glyph, when traited, will proc Grace of the Land because it is a skill from CAF.
You can basically un-bug it for 95% of your use cases:
Go into your settings and check the box that resets your ground targets to max distance whenever you attempt to use them beyond their max range (“Lock ground targets at max range” under combat/movement section).
When you attempt to cast Staff3 at beyond max range and the game resets it to max range for you, you will not be put in combat.
For me, I am almost always wanting to go max range for traveling purposes, so this is just fine. For situations where I don’t want to go max range (combo in a field, or score a quick evade) I am already in combat anyway.
Anyway, hope this helps some of you.
I’ve had this checked since it came out and 50% of time I get into combat unless I swap weapons right before the cast ends.
Ancestral Grace placing you in combat was blatantly unintended. I should have a fix in for that to go out… hopefully sometime soon.
Where are all these changes coming from and why is there no communication with the Ranger community regarding them? A bug has been ingame for 27 days, addressed 21 days ago, and hasn’t been talked about since all while these Druid changes have been going on constantly screwing everything over. Please can we get some kind of insight on what is going on?
Still bugged after Irenio said he would fix it. I’ve been reading patch note after patch note looking for when it gets fixed and nothing. It’s a lot of people’s key movement skill and to put you in combat after unless you swap weapons right before it ends is so frustrating.

If anything the new stability changes are welcomed and make things more fun, and frankly people don’t know how to adapt. Everyone wants to press stability and walk through a melee bomb without a scratch. Hit the sides, go in go out, don’t expect to get away with your kittenty style of play anymore because you WILL get punished for it.
You guys like that pirateship crap. I can’t stand it but despite that we’ll end up having to follow like everyone else because it’s the ONLY viable way to raid / gvg now. With old stab there were a ton of different styles to choose from.
We don’t try to pirate ship but lately we have had small front line so we do what we can. Currently trying to get a couple more front line right now. What we have been doing is baiting our enemies first stab then leaping in after it’s done leaving them to sit there wondering what to do.

Dear Anet, I feel as if Server Pride is destroyed. Due to this megaserver, I don’t feel like I belong to the server I have been on for close to 2 years.
Also, Guild recruitment is VERY difficult, especially for those that do not participate in WvW. (this is referring to those that don’t like recruiting cross servers)
Now, Guild Missions are extremely difficult for those that are a part of a large guilds. Very annoying and time consuming process just to taxi members into your same flow… and to find another guild already started with puzzle/rush/bounty/challenge… then having to wait some more.
Please tell me that there are solutions for these problems… Over the past few days I have lost the pride I once had for my server. Hey, I think I forgot which one I was on…
I know EXACTLY how you feel. Personally to me it’s more for just hanging out. I moved to TC for the WvW but always guest on BP to hang out with my friends in Vigil Keep. Today I logged in and see so many people I did not know. I logged out and made sure a second time that I was guesting, and logged back in. Same thing I had no clue who half these people are. I eventually had to join a friend’s party and join their “overflow” just to see a familiar face. I guest for a reason, I don’t want to be lumped up with all these random people because they share the same language as me.
Gendarren Fields is now a megaserver. Seriously thinking about quitting. I want a place I can hang out with people only from my server. Bring LA back and don’t make it a megaserver.
Ranger sword needs to be reworked so you don’t go flying everywhere if you don’t have a target. I really want to use it in WvW but it’s too much of a dueling weapon as of now. Sword is only good for having one target at a time and focussing on it.
The white Charr Engy(not going to put the guild tag on blast) who speed hacks his kittens off? LOL yeah he’s legit.

Witnesses from both servers, and let me tell you that Ebay and BP don’t usually agree on things. A guild mate has recording of it I’m sure as she says he has been doing it for weeks every time we match up against DB.
Maybe one of the reason why DB is leading in PPT during oceanic time is because of our charr engineer commander in EBG. I’m quite amazed how he turned db’s random pugs and elite trolls into some kind of a militia.
The one who got called out on being a pansy and running at first sight of us? I have to admit this week he is actually staying and fighting. I haven’t seen him speed hack or flee off at all this week, so kudos to him.

Aren’t Borlis Brawlers a GvG all star team? Don’t get me wrong, they’re definitely good. But, I heard they’re comprised of good players from different guilds.
That’s cool, but not as impressive as a normal guild group that plays together regularly.
No, not really. We have a handful decent players, majority of mediocre and some very subpar players. More often than not our driver is drunk, late or doesn’t have a kittening mouse. We never run together, we never practice; we just show up and kill kitten on gvg night. BB is open to pretty much anyone on BP who is capable of pressing buttons, has a level 80 character and has half a brain.
I’m probably going to hurt some feelings by saying this but I personally think that BB is pretty bad. I have no idea how we’ve managed to win all our GvGs aside from one against HOPE.
Now that we can see our pets raw health in numbers, I noticed my Bear has 51k health in LA and as soon as I jumped in WvW it went down to 29k health. With all the bullkitten PvE content they put in WvW, you’d think it was considered PvE. I thought they only left out sPvP to their own tooltips…
There’s a hacking asuran Guardian on NSP with an account name of Dajjal.5268. I forget the guild, something all lowercase I believe starting with the letter T. Just a heads-up to anyone who notices him — what he does is teleports out of combat, across the map, etc. Thanks for reporting him, XOXO members we had a great outnumbered fight with.
Actually you can’t call out anyone for hacking here. But I think I’ve fought against him before as well but he was in Ehmry Bay at that time. He failed taking a camp, and whilst he was down he kept teleporting backwards. Reported him, and I’m pretty sure the guys who were on back then keep complaining about him but we all know how all these hackers hardly ever get banned…

It seems NSP isn’t the most discreet about their hacking. Not the first time I’ve seen them do something like that. I personally thought all hacking methods were gone a long time ago.

Only recent transfer I am aware of is the Rekz guild. Our population has more or less been the same for about the last 4 months.
