I tried several things, what ultimately worked for me was to go into wvw, then head to mist using the icon. that’s what triggered it.

problem solved.

I went into pvp to “unlock” all of my pvp skins but nothing triggered. I’ve switched characters, I’ve closed the game out and reset it. nothing.

none of mine are popping up. both armor and weapons

I thought it was because the monthly resets on the last day of the month, and not at the first day of the month, which is probably why the boss week daily can no longer be done? but then again the daily hasn reset yet…hmmm…this is interesting because I’ve never thought about how monthly resets can possibly affect LW stuff

well, to be fair, nowadays with scarlet, you only know it’s there because it’s in the in game message. Teq functions like/is a regular world event (that got a buff,) like Jormag/Behemoth/Golem/etc, I doubt there’ll be a message. It’ll be cool to do so, but now that boss week is over, I think spawn time will be normal again like before, so if you have the API overlay up, it’ll tell you when it spawns (but that doesn’t guarantee you a place in the fight if people were waiting for it already)

It spawned on Gandara- I even took a screenie, showing the vast multitude of people that were there (it told me it was an overflow). I spent ages looking, and counted exactly THREE people at the whole thing, with around 7 minutes left on the clock.

And i was taking about the ‘flawless defence’ type achievements, whihc are extremely hard to achieve if there is NOBODY doing Teq as they have moved on to the next two week event, leaving Teq spawn a ghost town in many servers.

An no one being there after the Boss Week event ended and the new event started surprises you? It started dying off the last 4-5 days or so before the event ended.

unless you get into a overflow. TTS guild had 4 overflows going last night while waiting for Teq

Are the Tequito ascend weapon/aqua breather/mini here to stay? or is it for this update only and will go away once Twilight Arbor Assault is here?

I’ve only been a member for 3 days and did 4-5 teq killing with TSS and we have not failed any of the times I was there. It is incredibly awesome! It is because of TSS I am able to say I’m one achievement away from finishing the Tequito achievements (I’m “flawless defense” away from my title). The commanders are awesome, people are nice, and people actually listens!

So, can any of you wonderful people recommend a good sceptor build? I’m making a meteorlogicus right now and it would look great on my guardian, however I’m not very familiar with the guardian class and while I know guardians can use sceptor, I don’t see a lot of people with it (it’s not very popular I see). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Even if I knew someone going to PAX, which I didn’t. It’s unlikely they would have given me theirs. I’d say you were either fortunate to go to PAX or have a friend that went and didn’t care to keep the mini themselves. Not sure I would call that “planning ahead” if that Is what happened.

edit: I realize this sounds like a boo hoo I don’t have the mini. But I found that post to have a… rude or elitist attitude to it. Perhaps those are the wrong words.

I was at PAX. I went to the GW2 with my bf and some friends who none of them plays GW2, but got the minis so that I can give them to the friends I play with everyday.

So yeah, people like me who doesn’t mind getting stuff like that for friends if I’m already going to be there does exist

what I don’t understand is why ANet has to do anything. It was a little gift and meant to be as such; mini collecting is a choice, as in a lot of other stuff in the game. Had it been something else, people would probably say something about it too. kitten ed if you do, kitten ed if you don’t.

and also, just a FYI, this mini is no longer $500 on ebay. it’s more like $40.

well, if i’m trying to get shards and when there’s actually a better/striaht forward sourceto do so, the 400k for 32 shards is not exactly the best source. Northern Shiverpeak had Balth open so I was able to get my shards last night. i spend 580k and got 290 shards. yeah. I would rather go to the source instead of playing with RNG with this kind of stuff

That’s because some people speculated and lost on lodestone prices. This will happen during any major price shift. And they really only have themselves to blame. Anet had mentioned that they would increase chances to get lodestones on at least two occasions.

Legendaries should have been account bound from the beginning. Anet can’t go back and change it now, but that doesn’t mean they have to continue making the same mistake going forward.

but they can still make it account bound on use, as it should be. I find it silly that you spend that much time on it but you can’t use it across all of your characters who might benefit from the same weapon, especially now that the stats can be switch outside of combat

well, at least we do know with some new updates, some players seems to get early access/preview for testing/feedback. I seem to recall Dulfy sharing previews of certain updates, and she can’t be the only one.

Well I’m sure we all want lodestones for free. Fact is the price discrepancy between charged and the rest of the lodestones is due to demand.

Personally, I find farming ridiculously dull; but if people are willing to do it and sell, great, it’ll benefit me and the farmer. It just sucks that Charged Lodestone is not exactly easy to farm for, so supply is already not high but the demand is.

There was a community event during gamescom (on Thursday evening). Many fansites were invited to meet at a Cologne tourist trap, where they had a chance to talk among themselves and to some of the developers.

There was a gift bag for the people who attended and a raffle.

The contents of the bag were:
1x Mini-Pet Mr. Sparkles (card is printed in German, no English text)
1x Black Sweat Armband with GW2 logo in white stitching
1x Grey T-Shirt with white GW2 dragon logo
1x A5 Paper Notepad, no lining, grey logo on each side.
1x Steelseries mousepad Jora design
1x NCSOFT ball-pen
1x Destiny Edge poster

There were roughly 60 people from all over Europe (!) attending the event. I do not know, if they were given out on the show floor as well.

That’s all I can tell you about the card. As was the case in GW1, it will probably not be the first, nor the last minipet which is linked to some real-life event, or is simply unobtainable by playing the game, e.g. try trading Gaile Grey for one of her frogs.

there’s nothing wrong with excluse content, stuff like this is really common. Your frustration is stemmed from the fact that there’s actually something you cannot have no matter how much you want to have it, which honestly, in an MMO to be able to own a completely collection is super hard to begin with it. If it’s not minis, it’s something else. There will be plenty of things you (or anyone for that matter) can never have, so why let that get into you.

I would love to compelte a mini collection, but I won’t…because essentially all minis are either way too expensive for me to just buy to collect, or you need to spend real money, which I would rather spend that one some other in game content.

and to be fair, no one besides Anet knew there would be a mini in the swag bag; it could have been anything. It was only awarded to the first 500 people that showed up (and I think they were giving them away at Gamescom?) and the event was not exclusive to PAXers. While I see why it would make you unhappy, pick your battles, there’s no need to feel the way you do over something like this

I think this is still going on. At IoJ last night we attempted to do Balth last night, several times in fact, and it was not working. We were doing the escort mission and as far as I know/can tell, we can get it up to the steps, and then it’s instant down for all the NPCs, which means instant fail.

we even tried to go in smaller groups so that less Risen spawns, but that didn’t work well either.

I love it how NOW that I finally get myself a precursor, Balth is impossible…

this is not the first time it has happened to me, where the minions that come of the portal will somehow die on top of the dissolving portal, render all loot (if you have any) unreachable.

Normally I would’ve just say well that’s a shame, but just now, it’s a wooden box, which means it’s something better than green. It really bums me out that I can’t get it at all. Please fix this.

Maybe consider it’s a drop from a chest the same way Final Rest was? Considering Final Rest was “bugged” to drop, this could be the same for the Bows. Anet’s silence on the matter can mean several things considering they were somewhat vocal about Final Rest.

We just dont know the event/area for the drop, could be some far off place that has to do with the Bow’s Lore. I think it’s a drop rather MF crafted.

I also tried using crystal lodestones and charged lodestones to see if it’ll pop up, but when I put the coins and lodestones in, the ori bow staves won’t even come up, so those are out of the question.

Someone mentioned perhaps it’s gift of knowledge (requires dungeon tokens) or the gift of water, but those haven’t been tested.

Quoted for truth. This thing stinks, although all the time I believed ANet that the item wasn’t bugged and loved the rarity of it, right now it seems fishy. It’s chance. And after the first world’s first drop was announced, probably tons of people rushed to that event, increasing the chances that somebody loots it a lot further. I doubt so many level 80s did the event before, I just went there because of exactly this (and because I had some spare time waiting for my dungeon party).

I dont believe being level 80 has anything to do with it though. I’ve heard people in the lower levels getting lvl 80 exotics before from that chest. Prior to the first drop, there were already a lot of people who believed in the SB theory and was already farming there

The sheer fact that Froze Maw in the beginner’s area gives you better loot since last patch (at least 1 rare), I feel that Megadestroyer should give you at least more than 4 items.

In all of my megadestroyer run, I managed to pull an exotic once (Drakevenom), but that’s ONE time, and I was only there to farm me some claws

If it is indeed a MF recipe, the possible Gift would be Gift of Weather. Which cost the same as Gift of Light and is use to craft low popularity Legendary the Meteorlogicus.

I really like Meteorlogicus, and if it’s gift of weather, getting all that lodestone is going to be PAINFUL. Either way though…someone mentioned weather is a possibility unless it’s more a Melandru thing, which i’m not familiar with GW lore, so I’m not sure myself.

So, Gift of Light can be ruled out, as orichalchum longbow/shortbow staves with gift of light is a recipe used to make azureflame and aether.
