I agree that we should all be patient and wait for a fix. However, I doubt it will be a priority fix and will have to wait for 2 years or more before a fix comes. That I think is an unacceptable amount of time.
Secondly, I disagree with those who feel that the issue is blown out of proportion. Yes, it is a bug. And yes it is no longer exploitable. But the fact remains that there are users out there who DID exploit the bug to give them an advantage – which is I believe a bannable offence. And I’m pretty sure in the past, ANet have banned (not necessarily perma ban) players for much less.
Thirdly, what type of fix are we expecting? A roll-back I think is unnecessary. Since GWAMM titles are account linked, it would be easy for ANet to check the difference. There after, set a counter for the achiev points and any new achiev points go into the counter instead of total achiev points until the difference is met. Something along the lines of this:
A = Achiev points from GWAMM title track in game
B = Achiev points calculated from GWAMM title track in GW1
C = Achiev points difference
X = Counter
N = New achieve points
T = Total achiev points
X = X + N and T = T+ 0 until X > C
That way, no need to roll back; no fear of having given bugged achievers additional chests.
As for skins, a simple way is to on one update, remove all the skins in GWAMM on player’s wardrobe and on the next update automatically unlock the skins in GWAMM on players’ wardrobes based on B. The same can be done with the title.
It is rather likely that it is high priority, but even if they spend every single resource in the company towards it, they would still need to actually figure out where the issues lie.
Maybe this would help narrow down where the issue lies (see attached picture).
Also keep in mind that it is a rather small group of players that seems to have these issues, and as such it would not make all that much sense to put it as a highest priority ever issue.
Hmm… minority neglect/discrimination?

UncleSniper… If you care to look at the the screenshot I took of the pingplotter which I have attached in the post above yours, it is proof that the problem isn’t with the local servers. And while it is true, there is lag in the backbone nodes, it is the only at the NCSoft IPs where there are packet loss of up to 28% (10% first time round and then 20% next time). While I am no IT expert, I believe that packet loss only occurs in 2 settings -
1. Corrupt data
2. Congested network (more common).

Dear ArenaNet,
In the absence of the odd undersea cable issues, connection with the game has always been relatively stable and fast. However only very recently (less than 48 hours), the game has been unplayable for me even in pve. Before suggesting that it is due to ISP issues, please look at the attached screenshot. Unlike many others, the lag / latency I can live with since I don’t do much pvp at all. However, the main problem I am having is the packet loss. Please look into this matter. Any advice in the interim on how to play over the weekend while this is being investigated into is very much appreciated.
If developers read this, can I humbly suggest that guild missions organized through guild halls be set in a separate instance from the megaservers. This would make life a lot easier organizing a Guild Puzzle and Guild Challenges rather than have to find each other and taxi in guildies.
Hehehe…. Tengu….. Mursaat…. Pls don’t forget quaggans.
Just thought I post my exp with the rng here, and I hope others might do so too so that we can have a feel of the rng.
Coat box 1 – First run (guaranteed)
Coat box 2 – 22nd successful run
Coat box 3 – 24th successful run
No further coat boxes in following successful runs.
I admit – the map and bosses are quite enjoyable now that I don’t have the stress of getting a coat box. Will probably continue to visit Silverwastes and Vinewrath these next few weeks as well.
True… except for the fact that 2 weeks from now you will have organ specific extractors which gurantees you the eyes and kidneys you need based on previous LS experience.
All vendor sold carapace boxes were released at the time of the LS and not after. Hence, the worry of RNG being the only way of obtaining carapace coat box. If ANet were to officially make a statement saying that the carapace coat box would be available by vendor 2 weeks later, all this hoo-hah over it would have been avoided.
I concur with Florence that the future of SW is a bleak one if no new content is added.
Currently SW is active with players aiming for Breach and subsequent Vinewrath Chest for the Carapace Coat Box. While it lasts, there is activity on the map. However, insane amounts of shovels and crests are given to players. And when finally the craze of Vinewrath Chest is over, the chest farmers will take over the map. This will upscale the mobs as they pass by the forts and small party groups will be unable to defend.
Should ANet try to “minimize” this occurance by having the Carapace Chest Box sold by vendor with crests, this will only serve to shorten the amount of time chest farmers are around and ultimately, still leave SW as its name implies after the plunder… Silver Wastes.
Things do look bleak indeed for SW unless more content in put in.
Congratulations to laokoko and I hope to be just as lucky as you are. On my 20th run and still only on the 1st guranteed box which means 2 to go.
Would like to share a suggestion heard from a fellow guildie that some but not all things, have a “limited RNG” whereby after after the x attempt at trying to obtain the item, you are guranteed to get one?
In this case, the Carapace Coat Box (CCB) may be dropped after every 30th successful Vinewrath event. Alternatively, if a person gets a CCB before the 30th successful event, his/her counter is reset to 0 and has to work up to another 30 successful events before being guranteed a CCB.
RNG is neccessary when it brings anticipation, hope and joy to the masses on getting something; not when it brings disappointment, anger and frustration. And especially not when its the only thing that stands between you and a full armor set, title and an
ascended piece.
Mind, I’m not at all happy about it, especially when reading about people who’ve done dozens of Vinewrath events without getting even one additional coat box, but I absolutely expected either RNG or a price of at least 10k crests per chest piece.
I would much prefer a 10k crests cost per chest piece than the RNG. That way, at least :
1. I can plan my gameplay accordingly
2. I can estimate how long more to get it and something to look forward to at the end rather than get disappointed every time opening the chest.
I’m not suggesting that ANet remove RNG from the end chest. It is good that people have something to look forward to from the chest. But an alternative means should be given to players who get disappointed by the RNG – either make it saleable by vendors or make it saleable on TP rather than account bound. I just want the chest pieces.
(edited by Horus Nightlight.1276)
frustration made more so for those who actually farmed crests and terra griff parts only to see others get the armor first due to rng while being stuck at 1 coat box….. Whoopee do!
Congrats ANet on a good LS spoilt by the RNG in the end for the carapace chest box.
ANet.. REALLY? Some of us who actually like the Bioluminescent Armor worked hard farming over 8k bandit crests over Christmas and New Year hoping to get the full set and you unleash the unspeakable thing called RNG on us? This really is the pits.
Can I suggest that the game finally puts in content rewards that relies totally on effort rather than RNG? Or maybe the objective of the game has been changed to “AFK until Vinewrath and hope for the best”?

Same here. Got disconnected multiple times today – mostly in wvw and once during Svanir Shaman event when map was full. Not sure if it is my ISP or it is ANet’s issue.
Had that same problem earlier. Try adding “-prefreset” to your GW2 shortcut and see if that helps.
Got the suggestion from reddit : http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/20h38q/my_character_is_stuck_in_limbo/
Merry Christmas all.
Have discovered an interesting bug… Can’t seem to access guild bank in LA from Sear Malstride near Bloodcoast Ward waypoint. He tells me “Your guild has not build any sort of storage yet.” However, I seem to be able to access guild banks from the remainder of the world though. This seems to have only started happening today. Anyone else have the same problem?
Irrespective of what everyone else thinks, it will be the bulk of the players on each map that will ultimately determine how a game is played be it in EoTM, EB or BLs.
There really is no right or wrong way of playing the game as long as people have fun. And fun is subjective. The minority may feel marginalized or suppressed but would it be fair for the majority of players to sacrifice their fun just to play in a way that only the minority feels happy with? Hence, let’s be logical about it. Choose the map which suits your preferred play style – no one is forcing WvWers into EoTM or KTrain PvEers into EB/BLs. Everyone will be a lot happier about it. And who knows…. in the future, pending on players, KTrain might even be centred in EB/BL while WvW centred in EoTM.
Hi all.
Is there a possible way to check my login history? (ie. times of recent logins)
If and when they add it, the time gating and grind involved will be at least as bad, if not a lot worse, than simply getting the gold and buying one in the first place. Getting Ascended gear is hardly “fun”, it is an expensive, time gated chore. Now imagine that x100 and you probably have an idea as to what it will be like.
I’m not entirely sure how much materials a precursor should cost. Should it be really more than an ascended since it is an “exotic” item? The argument I understand is that it is used to create a legendary, but legendary items already have crafting costs.
I completely agree to having a craftable precursor and the legendary obtained from the precursor that is ACCOUNT bound. But in addition to this, the craftable precursors should be a whole NEW set of precursors and not existing ones. The currently available set of precursors should be continued as an extremely rare drop and saleable on TP. This is for the following reasons:-
1. Legendaries are part of achievements and achievements should be achievable by all who put in enough effort to try to obtain it. It should not be made achievable only by only a lucky few or rich enough to pay others to get it for them.
2. Making it account bound would stop ppl from farming mats just to make and sell on TP for profit.
3. Precursors should continue to be obtainable as a rare drop and these (along with legendaries crafted from these) are to be saleable on TP. This is only fair to those who would later get precursors as a drop as some ppl have already obtained huge profits from luck.
4. Legendaries are no longer just a single set of ascended stats but is a weapon that can have their stats changed in cities. As such, a legendary is not the same as single ascended weapon, but a whole full set of ascended weapons. Hence, the argument that ascended weapons can take the place of a single legendary weapon, does fully hold water. The game would be really unfair to allow a lucky few without cost, to change their weapon stats on the fly, while the great majority has to wait for days to craft equivalent ascended weapons (due to daily crafting limitation).
Not sure if this has been brought up – World Bosses Chest rewards (eg. Shadow Behemoth, Fire Elemental, etc) for individuals should scale with the number of pre-quests done by the individuals. Meaning, the person who has done the pre-quests should get more rares/loot/gold reward/xp than the individual that joined at the last minute and get in a few hits.
Moving AFK players to nearest uncontested waypoint still prevents others interested in the event from getting into the map. So, the only solution I can still think of, like in WvW is to KICK them.
One of the best content and updates ever. You finally managed to get people on servers to work together (WvW was a good attempt). People are satisfied at just beating Tequatl and not at what pops out from the chest rewards (although that’s an added bonus). The one and only blemish on this – the overflows, the wait in between and as result, the number of AFKers.
While I am sympathetic that people have real life issues to deal with while playing, that’s not a real valid excuse for them to inconvenient/burden others on a map requiring teamwork to get an event done. I may have a bad day at the office, but I don’t road rage on the way home. As for 10 mins, have 20 ppl afk for 10 mins could affect the outcome, so 10 mins may be too long still.
Its not only for Tequatl, but any map with scheduled big events for that matter. May I suggest that ANet automatically log out all players who are immobile or do not using any skills for 5 minutes or longer (ie similar to what they do in WvW). And to prevent ppl from clogging servers by going AFK, may I suggest that they may be banned from a further 15-30mins from re-logging on again.
I believe it is not wrong of ANet to put an achievement in a WvW area – they are the programmers, it is their godly right.
I believe it is not wrong of players to camp in the WvW areas killing others and making an annoyance of themselves – its a free world.
However, I believe it is folly of ANet to turn a blind eye to this. Players camping there are not mindless sadists. They are there exploiting easy kills to advance their world ability points and realm avenger achievement. And its not just any harmless exploit – it is causing a lot grief to other players.
My suggestion to solve this issue is to reduce the requirements for Caching Out achievement to 6 instead of 7. Additionally, increasing the Blackout Cache (Obsidian Sanctum part) achievement rewards to 15 instead of 5. This then would satisfy the argument for PvE players remain in PvE world to get their achievement maxed and hardcore WvW could still get good achievement points while remaining in their WvW world. It also makes sense that a harder JP should be rewarded with more achievement points. Additionally, it also promotes the true spirit of JPs in WvW – team and co-operative play against other factions/worlds. And with teams sloughing it out, it would also discourage campers from exploiting easy kills.
I invite ANet to consider the suggestion and post their thoughts on this.
Having the same problems yesterday and posted already in forums – only person in party, getting autokicked every 2-5 minutes. Also noticed that there was a problem with the guild panel – only a few members online when in truth there are about 70+ online (confirmed by members in same guild who didn’t have this problem).
Now the interesting bit – When I relogged in about 10 hours ago (around 0400hrs GMT), guild panel and party panel was fine. Managed to even do CoF p1 with no bugs. Then I logged out about 4 hours ago for dinner an am back now (around 1400hrs GMT) – same problem with guild and party panel.
Am logging in from Asia onto an EU server – Gandara world. I wonder if this has anything to do with traffic?
World : Gandara.
Dungeon : SE p1
Bug 1: Party panel does not show any party member at all (but Leave party button is active)
Bug 2: No blue dots on mini map or main map (Party chat active which confirms i’m in party)
Bug 3: Getting autokicked every 2-5 minutes while in dungeon.
Bug 4: Logged off, rebooted pc and relogged back on. Party panel now works fine but cannot enter dungeon.
Hoping this is some temporary issue. Will try again in 24 hours.
Just realised that the Diessa Plateau map is bugged in many ways -
1. Guild Rush doesn’t start there
2. Guild Trek points not showing / working – Drakenhatch Shore and Holystone Sanctum
Also, I believe the catapult bug also happens in Diessa.
Is any one else having the problems?
Having same problem on Gandara trying to get into CoF P1. Can’t get into dungeon despite the rest of the party getting in – Nothing happens when i click on Enter Exporable…. Tried wp-ing and getting in again – still same problem.
ANet… please fix this.
Same problem here… But I am just curious… It may just a coincidence but the last time I had login problems was the immediate weekend after a major update (ie. last update) and this time, the same thing again. Any thoughts?
Apparently from google-ing, was directed to a wiki page which states its a server overload. Bravo… improving chest drops + guesting + temple timer = massive server issues.
Am having the same error problem and lag spikes lately after playing without a hitch for 3-4 months. More specifically (and maybe coincidentally), noticed this problem started AFTER the Jan 10th update. I’m logging in from Asia to an European server; could be a lot of factors and not necessarily ANET side. However, when the problem is widespread, experienced by many players across different countries in the world with only the game as a common denominator, one has to seriously consider server issues rather than individual ISPs.
