Fix the bug where a match q pops in the middle of a ranked match and then ppl are left doing a 3v5 because of other idiots who hit accept.
It’s actually terrible. These issues weren’t here before so why are they having issues now?
I’ve been playing GW2 for 2 years now and I’ve never had load times as long as I do right now. I’ve read that you can reduce these load times by deleting the file named “local.dat” but my GW2 file only has a “GW2.dat” and it’s much larger than what most people describe their local.dat to be. Is this the file I’m supposed to delete? Anyone have any other load screen suggestions?
For PvP it’s a great way to close gaps. 2 and 3 work in close range, the knockback on 5 is clutch too. I also personally don’t find many issues with iZerker either. Maybe I’m just lucky and get good hits out of it.
The pistol is just way better bc of that stun. It can lead to some nasty damage combos/1shots

I have both and I use my engi a lot more simply because I find it more fun. It also helps that he’s a little exploding asuran ball of death. I find I have more survivability across the board with the engi while with my mesmer my survivability is tied more to the other player’s skill because some people are just god awful at finding the real me. You also can’t beat speedy kits for roaming.
Pick up speedy kits ASAP. It makes life so much easier as you’re running around doing heart quests and such
Tbh you’re only lvl 5 so it’ll be tough to understand exactly what an engineer is. Eventually you’ll unlock more kits and you’ll see it’s not that our primary weapon is underwhelming, it’s just we have so many options through kits that there’s no need to stay only in your primary weapon. For some lvling tips though, grab bomb kit and stack power. Bomb is great bc #4 is a smoke field so you take no dmg against most mobs.
Tbh most of SoS hasn’t been playing much this matchup because people don’t enjoy fighting siege. It’s good tactics to take our keeps quickly and then siege em up against us and can make for some tough fights but the average pug will just go back to champ farming :/
I personally like a condi/bunker engineer. You can have perma-swiftness, a ton of vigor, survivability, and a great amount of killing power. I run dire armor, rabid trinkets/weapons. This class isn’t the easiest to learn as you have to learn how to use your toolkits (grenades specifically can be difficult) but the reward is great.
If you’re looking for a power based class though I’d go thief.
Not gonna lie, I expected this week to have been a blow out but I was pleasantly surprised and just want to say thanks for all the great fights this holiday break!
Wolfineer posts his builds on the forums and YouTube and they typically use only bombs which isn’t too far off of what you want. Unfortunately if you want a condition build you’re probably gonna want to use grenades or bombs.
Undead is cheap and requires no grinding to get. If you have the money go with perplexity runes though.

Moving from my ranger to engie and certainly doing damage in 1 v 2s but too often I get locked down or can’t get off enough heals or the enemy avoids the CC that gives me enough range thru stability.
I don’t kill fast enough to not need to kite, stay mobile off lockdown etc. Somehow, I am just not getting it (but then again, it is only week 2 or 3 for the engie).

precision will proc sharpshooter bleeds and helps with incendiary powder. i personally run dire weapons and armor + rabid accessories.
Basically this. I rarely lose 1v1’s and even 1v2’s
I don’t mind new people coming into my dungeons but sometimes I don’t want to spend my whole evening running dungeons, in which case I will throw up “80’s experienced only”. For example, I’m in the process of gearing my engineer up with full dire gear because I enjoy WvW fights. As much fun as the CoE dungeon is, after running all 3 paths everyday for the past week or to get all the tokens necessary for a full set of dire gear I do not want to spend hours on these runs. I want to get in, get out, and go do something that I haven’t been grinding out for a week (on a side note, Dire gear is fantastic for an engi and I highly recommend it for any engi’s out there who likes to WvW)
Rabid engineer. The elite is so good and can sway a team fight instantly. Also you can fly around the map with perma swiftness and rocketboots. You also have plenty of vigor, blinds, and regen. Once you get a hold of the class it is very hard for someone to outright beat you in a 1v1 or even some 1v2’s depending on skill/classes of the other players.
Mesmers are really good 1 on 1 because they are the DUELING class. Outside of that they’re slow, contribute little to zergs other than “veil 1, pop veil 1 plz” and other gimmicks. The one thing mesmers are very weak against are conditions, even with their torch cleanse and their mantra they are very bad at cleansing. Yeah moa is pretty OP but it can be interrupted/dodged.
Had a lot of fun last night on EB, especially fighting that YB group right by their outlook. Thanks for the many bags! You guys just kept coming and coming, WP’ing after every death. It was excellent. See y’all on again tonight!

I rolled an engi because I wanted a good condition class but I found necro to be too boring. I feel like engi gives me so much versatility and our elite skill is roflstomp awesome.
Hey I’m trying to decide on an alt to make, I already have a frontliner and a couple roamers and am torn on what to decide for more of a backliner/aoe class: the elementalist or necromancer. Any thoughts or pros/cons would be appreciated!
My condi engineer is doing great. I find necro’s boring and I feel like with my asuran engineer I’m a little ball of exploding death.
If you’re really deadset on using cleric’s go ahead, but your job is to stay alive, ESPECIALLY if you’re commanding pugs. They will die and get lost if you go down, no matter how hard you try to keep commanding in ts or even worse map chat. I go full PVT, stacks of applied fortitude. Let your ele’s do the healing by blasting those water fields and your empower will do a decent amount of healing anyways because AH scales horribly with healing power anyways.
Try mixing it up. Meditation builds are in a very good place right now due to the ability to burst damage and burst heal. I can chase down just about every class (besides thieves and some warrs) with GS3, Sw2, and JI. Bags on bags on bags.
I’m gonna guess 10/0/30/20/10 maybe. The 30 in valor and 20 in honor for sure bc he has medi’s and 2h mastery. The last 20 points are pretty much personal preference. Definitely doesn’t have anything in radiance and not more than 10 in zeal bc his symbols don’t inflict vuln. Mix of soldiers and knights gear it seems, maybe some valk. Nice vid though, I wish I was better with the mace.
Find a good group of friends that you like to roam with and then a power ranger becomes pretty useful. We bring one a lot when roaming just because they apply good pressure and are very useful in chasing someone down bc the farther someone tries to run the more damage our ranger does to them

Has anyone else been experiencing a ridiculous amount of disconnects since season 1 ended? I can’t even get in the qeue to WvW because by the time it pops I’ve already dc’d and have to restart all over again. Then it happened twice during a dungeon today. My internet coverage/connection has not changed and my internet is above average.

I used to run torch because I’m a sucker for seeing big numbers and that #4 skill can do some work. However I’ve been playing using focus for a while now and the extra survivability can be a lifesaver and comes in clutch all the time.
Please anet implement something like this!
I run a 20/0/30/20/0 build that’s centered around MF. Using hammer with GS works pretty well. Especially with the RoW, JI, Banish, MB and then the GS dmg rotation. That typically wrecks most people. Especially because it hits so hard and so fast. Alternatively you could swap in sw/fc so you have a great gap closer.
I like to to see myself as a backline destroyer. I rocket boot towards all those eles and necros, use big bomb to knock em all down because they typically don’t have perma-stability. Keeping these guys occupied/dead can be a huge help.
For duels I like a 20/0/30/20 meditation build with GS/H. You can precast RoW, pop JI, Banish, Mighty Blow, GS4, then WW. Typically wrecks most classes or at least makes them pop their heal which also means you pretty much win. I use a mix of soldiers and beserker’s when I roam for a good mix of stats.

This build is pretty much exactly what you need for zerging. For roaming you might want to change it up a bit. I personally like more zerk gear on hand when roaming so I can actually kill something. With this build right now you’re going to have trouble while roaming
For WvW you should get full soldier’s gear (PVT) unless you roam a lot. For dungeons get beserker gear because gw2 PvE is basically a dps check.
I’m in the process of lvling one now and I found that having sw/wh is really helpful for running around while doing heart quests. That and like someone already said, putting points into BM is really good at early levels. My kitten does some massive damage.
I mean it’s not my favorite map but it’s not completely horrible. And none of you have laughed hysterically when you definitely lost a fight but because the other guy wasn’t paying attention he fell the floor?
How about we replace the staff which bads love to camp with..and get a throwable spear(javelin) and revive the paragon? maybe a mix between 800 range and meele like first skill is a throw, second is a more powerful throw that inflicts burning or blindness and the rest are like swipe spin and a cc(launch, stun, knockdown).
This. Anet has obviously already liked this idea before so add it to the guardian. That and I miss my paragon
Definitely rangers. The ring of warding + JI combo gets em everytime. Staff ele’s a close 2nd as well
Knights armor gives you the best stats and all but in an actual zerg scenario, you should be wearing PVT. That being said as a commander I love the idea of having a ranger who doesn’t just pew pew in the back and truly contributes to the group. Nice build!
For “coolest” a human or sylvari might be the choice because “cool” would be all cosmetics really. For gameplay a norn due to their elite or asuran due to the difficulty clicking on them, hard to see what attack they’ll use next, and you’ll probably get lost in all the fields.
If you could post your build that’d help a lot. Each camp though typically has a “stack spot” where you can just wreck all the guards at once. Before when I used to play AH I could just stand there swinging hammer autoattack and cap with little to no issue.

Tbh the best way to learn how to do a dungeon is probably just to YouTube it. A quick YouTube search could not only show you how to do a specific path but you can also probably find how to do that path with your class.
