Glint’s Egg was around the time Mordremoth’s voice was reaching Sylvari, and her Wyld Hunt dealt with it too.
But did her Wyld Hunt really have anything to do with the egg?
Caithe’s Hunt was to slay Zhaitan, which had been done. Nowhere is it said that ANY sylvari gets a second Hunt after their first is over.
Also, the vision from the Dream is passed to the Commander, not Caithe. Even the Pale Tree says this was for us to do, not Caithe. That’s why we were the ones given the vision, not her.
Caithe has a long history of making quick judgements and doing what she feels is right, but not applying that judgement to herself. In one of the sylvari starting stories (Shield of the Moon), she bluntly tells someone that his love is lost to nightmare, and he should move on. She also kills a member of the Nightmare Court that we had chosen to spare (I don’t recall which story that’s in, but it’s one of the sylvari stories). Also, I believe it was Caithe that decided Destiny’s Edge would go after Glint next, and would have killed her had Glint not reasoned with them.
Caithe is a monster that will do whatever she wants for her own ends, but expects better from others. Was that egg her Wyld Hunt? No. No, it was not.
Canach puts in a good word for her, saying that The Call and a Wyld Hunt together would mess with any sylvari’s mind, and I trust him. But we all know she was lying about the egg being her Hunt. The only thing that was confusing her was The Call being at odds with her own desires.
If you actually played the story you’d know that sylvari can experience more than one Wyld Hunt. It happens to the sylvari PC.
The Faolain thing I blame on blind love, something any of us can get irl, where we ignore all the evils the person we love does because we care about them that much.
No. 100% No. I wouldn’t fall in love with someone who was malevolent in the first place; and if they turned to it or revealed it was there all along, I would fall out of love immediately. Because… moral compass.
You say that, but believe me, it DOES happen. I have personally witnessed some of the smartest people fall for the worst of the worst. Emotion is a crazy thing mang.
They are literally a nuisance to yourself and others. Get rid of them.
I would definitely be interested. I’m in a guild that runs teaching groups, but they can only take so many people at a time, and sometimes there are not enough people on to even run it. I live in the CST timezone and run a Tempest with Marauder’s gear (full ascended) and some PVT trinkets. I generally run Auramancer build but can switch to Fresh Air build to maximize DPS, whatever’s clever. Hit me up in game sometime
Is Ad Infinitum (the legendary fractal backpiece) coming in this update?
^Was literally just about to ask this.
Hi, I have been trying to complete the spoon collection so that I can finally finish off my CT masteries. However, I have tried to farm both EoTM and WvW but with no luck. Is there a certain enemy type I should be looking for? The dulfy guide and wiki just say that it drops from NPCs in either mode, but I’ve yet to see one drop :P Given how ridiculously easy it is to get the other spoons I figured this one would drop right away.
I tried logging out to character select and I tried logging out and restarting the client, neither worked. Didn’t try switching characters but I doubt it would’ve made a difference.
Trying to finish fractal dailies and I keep being told I’ve joined too many parties and need to wait. I joined ONE party the entire time I was playing. I don’t think merging parties is working either.
O_o
I haven’t had any such issues and I’ve had HoT since launch. I would recommend writing a support ticket and/or making a post in the game bugs/support forums.
Anybody else been having terrible lag lately? I was lagging in fractals and during DS meta, and managed to DC during the Mordremoth fight (not a happy camper). My connection seems fine, sooo…servers maybe?
I personally would like to know how Ibli managed to change from blue to purple.
Not too many issues for me so far, however I recently completed both Verdant Brink and Auric Basin on my elementalist/tempest and I’ve yet to receive the reward chest for a Magus Falls map completion. As you know, this is a requirement for the North Wind warhorn, and it’s really frustrating that I’ve done 2 maps now and have gotten nothing for it >.>
Glider skin available on other characters?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Ignigknawt.7869
Today I decided to test out the Druid and Tempest. I used the HoT glider skin on my Druid and it worked, but when I made my Tempest and started playing, she only had the default glider. It wasn’t in my bank again either. Can we only use/see it on one character?
I don’t try to log into my revenant, but I have tried to jump off a cliff and use my glider after the beta was over. That didn’t go so well for me.
^This. I already have gliding withdrawal. I just wanna go back to VB and glide some more
: (
Once when I was doing a pug run of the Thaumanova fractal, and as we were running to the center to clear the mobs a portal spawned and tried to pull me over the gap. Only instead it launched me way up in the air and I died upon impact. I then had to convince the other party members that it wasn’t an agony-related death, because I guess they didn’t see me fly up into the air >.>
It reduces the number of possible builds.
Why not allow us some more choices & individuality?
My guess is that they did it for balancing purposes, since the elite specializations are coming in HoT and they didn’t want people being overpowered. Like most so far though, I’m liking the new system a lot. I like that I can see ALL of the traits on one screen and be able to read what they do, rather than looking at them one by one. Makes building much easier.
So, dungeons are no longer zerker gear? Is everyone ditching berserker stats or what?
Not so much that people are ditching it, just more and more players are embracing different builds. To quote Martha Stewart, “It’s a good thing.”
Wait…so if we already went ahead and splurged on deluxe or ultimate then we can’t get a boxed copy? Or if we do it will just be standard since the deluxe extras are already on my account? I know it shouldn’t matter, but I like to display things
He knew it all along, I feel so betrayed…
I had trouble soloing this boss, especially once the shadow creatures showed up. Once I came back with another person though, it was no prob. Highly recommend having 1 or 2 extra people.
As for the thrasher boss, it’s not particularly hard. If you pay attention the minions take turns to spawn in a clockwise position. East, South, West then North.
For the dogs, you simply just kill them, use your brain “Oh it’s attacking the minion, how should I stop them?”
“I should probably kill it but it’s also chasing after the minion.”
Options:
1. Slow down the attacker so it isn’t directly on top of the minion constantly so you give the minion extra time to reach it’s destination. This means using cripples.2. Kill the monster before it kills the minion.
3. Speed up the minion so it can reach the thrasher before it dies.
4. Support the minion so it lives longer/takes less damage. Using protection/heals.
5. Important to note that the minion gets crippled from the monsters attack so if you want it to run faster, condition removal would help.
Let’s see what each class has to offer in the situation.Warrior: Can shout heal, has warhorn to remove cripple and provide speedbuffs, can kill dogs due to high dps, can cripple spam with sword, plenty of various CC (hammer too).
Ele: Access to heals/condi removes/CC (daggers), high staff dps with fire #2
Mesmer: Shatter dps builds, CCs
Necro: condition removal, DPS, condi overload, CC
Guardian: support boons, condition removal, DPS
Thief: CC, dps, stealth
Engi: Heals, condition removal, DPS
Ranger: DPS, CC, heals
Every class has something that can be used to get past this.
Easier said than done. When I attempted it, the minions and wolves were spawning very irregularly, as were Kasmeer’s safety bubbles. I could not for the life of me identify a pattern other than, " Well this sucks, guess I better come back in a party." Even after looking at solo strategies I just don’t think I have the patience to try and solo again.
Just tried to do this on my ele and gave up not long after the thrasher showed up. I feel like Anet is REALLY trying to discourage soloing this instance. I mean Aerin was a pain to solo for sure, but it was at least doable. This….this just isn’t.
Before anyone asks, no I had zero trouble getting to the boss. I knew to follow the magical green arrow and use the arrow cart. My problem is the boss itself, I just couldn’t solo it : (

Definitely an improvement, not amazing, but definitely good enough to keep me interested for more.
The only thing that really did bother me was them stuffing more Scarlet rubbish into the storyline. So many people hated everything about her, even though she is dead Arena Net’s writers feel compelled to stuff more of her nonsense into the story line.
Considering the fact that she destroyed large chunks of Tyria and woke up the last Elder Dragon prior to her death, did you really expect them to just ditch her completely? I know she was disliked by a lot of people but she still played a huge role in the story line. The whole REASON we’re even making our way into Maguuma is because of her.
They got everyone excited… waiting a whole month… for a piece of square chunk in the whole entire Maguuma Wasteland? They are as dumb as they look
How about you, like, I dunno….wait for the LS to progress? I mean honestly were you seriously expecting them to release the entire area at once? It’s only the first day and the first release. Besides, it’s already been heavily implied that we’ll end up in Magus Falls at some point.
Just finished mapping the new area with no problems either, both in and out of the sand storms. Running on a win8 laptop with NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M with intel i7. Guys you might need to check how much memory is being used for background apps and stuff like that. I was running slow the other day before i decided to open up task manager and end some things, and that seemed to help.
While I agree about adding a new race, I don’t know if I’d want the Dwarves honestly. I’d much rather see the Tengu or Largos added since they’re uniquely designed, because let’s face it, Dwarves are a VERY common race to see in mmo’s and I’d rather see something else. As for the dragons, yes. They NEED to get back to the Elder Dragons and (hopefully) open up new maps with them. Doing the world map was great the first time, but we’ve all seen it a bunch of times by now : /
There actually is a Magi’s Exotic set for all three armor types, but you have to get tokens from Ascalonian Catacombs to get them. This goes for Magi weapons as well.
Been wondering about this for a while, on the world map under the name Lion’s Arch, in parentheses, it says “The Spar.” Why is this? The wiki doesn’t say anything about it, let alone even mention it.
I agree the RNG thing is kind of an issue, and I say “kind of” because I personally never spend any money on it, but I know people who do and it is disheartening to see them open a ton of chests and get nothing for it after spending real life money on them.
Overall, though, I’d say I’m enjoying Dragon Bash quite a bit, especially after Southsun ended up being such a bust. I only did the required amount of achievements for the back pieces and that was it, didn’t even bother with the “dungeon” instances or the Karka Queen.
Just waypoint out.
Yeah….and? I just think they should have better customization options.
so you still think GW2 will have an expansion.
what I’m seeing is that Ncsoft trying to get as much cash from GW2 while there is still players playing.
now I don’t know for fact that the game is dying but like many others with big guilds that have 1 or 2 ppl still playing.
I think we will not see an expansion.
here is why:
GW2 sold 3 million copies.
most of that came from GW1fans (pvp game with some pve) which they lost them.
the game has core problems support/control/ condition damage…………………………..
no character progression no end game made a lot of ppl leave and will most likely not buy an expansion based on what they got .
now how many of the 3 million will still buy an expansion ?
I say the will be lucky to get 1 million.
What makes you think the people who quit won’t come back? If they get wind of an expansion they just might.
I put the Horns of the Dragon helm on my norn guardian thinking I could dye the actual horns by themselves, only to find the top of the helm is one big dye-able part. That’s just dumb, because now a majority of the helmet is only one color and it doesn’t look as good as I had pictured, and it’s not like I can tell how many dye-able parts there are in preview mode either. Is it possible for the devs to maybe change this?
From what I understand, there were a lot of issues with balance and OP characters in Guild Wars 1, at least that’s what I’ve heard from people who’ve played the original. As for whether or not it will be in this game, I don’t doubt it as possibility, but I imagine they’d want to tweak it to prevent the same issues as with the first game.
My level 52 elementalist in full tier 1 armor (I need a better frontal screen).
Below is my guardian friend, defying physics as usual.
I really like the common use of the repeating letters in the names of Asura, but it’s not required. Just think of characters like Teyo. Anyways, I like Lukrya (although I would like to know how you pronounce it to see if I am right, heh) I think it fits well with the tendency of Asura names to have atypical spelling.
For me there is my Elementist, Krewe Master Surah. Occasionally you might see him moonlighting as Peacemaker Surah.
It’s pronounced “Lu-kree-uh” so you may have been right
^sounds Asuran, I like it.
Mine’s Lukrya, a puprle-clad Elementalist. I didn’t know about the double-letter thing until recently…
