Sorry for the late reply. I got informed that this thread existed by one of my guild mates. I am an English speaking officer (and Korean). And I am fully aware of where all your concerns as we have been through a similar problem while at SBI a long time ago. As people have already mentioned most of our Korean members do not speak English very well and find it easy to just communicate in Korean. When we were in SBI, we used to map chat in WvW for faster communication with other Korean guilds. We also added translations if needed. But we sometimes didn’t feel like we needed to when it was strictly directed to another Korean commander/members.

Now that we have moved our home, we must follow the rules here at Kaineng. I’ll get the message across to everyone that we are no longer in SBI so we should be more careful about typing Korean in map chat.

We’ll get things sorted out fast so this won’t become an issue to other Kaineng members.

When I see JQ and SBI being FULL all the time and being outmanned on almost everywhere, wonder how pve is the least popular.

well is your gear up to your level? if you are not wearing lvl 60 gear and get downscaled to 40, no matter what profession you play you will be weaker than anybody that is lvl 40 wearing lvl 40 gear.

I agree with most of what you said, except about the orbs. Orbs being removed made it more intense in terms of close nit, orbs only provided a target and a way to increase gaps between teams. Now its more a slow tight race, but making up points is basically more challenging / next to impossible based on time left.

But, servers who could grab the orbs early and basically play keep away, grew monumental leads which made the other servers just not jump in. Orbs being removed was a positive change.

But I still would love more fixes to some of the mechanics, as well as maps. The note above about having the server vote on your home borderland of the week, is a fantastic suggestion.

Well at least in T1 matches the orbs made a reason for the other two servers go team up against the orb holding server to fight it back. And when one server gets the orb, it’s 1v2 for them now.

With the orbs gone, there is no reason to attack another server’s borderland other than keeping their own front line (1 tower + 1 keep) while you unite your borderland where it is easier to hold.

But it doesn’t matter with the orb or not everybody has a feeling that WvW is fading, and at a fast pace.

not sure what you mean by you are yet to get all the rewards from badges, when there’s only armor/trinkets to get from them and there are clearly other methods (and faster too) to get the equivalent stuff.

This game has only been out for a few months and February is only two months away from now. Thus these cries of doom and gloom and desperate pleas for immediate action to save WvWvW just make me laugh.

Yes it has been out for a bit more than 3 months and there hasn’t been a single patch regarding WvW. Orbs were removed which made the whole battle less intense. Each server can just unite their own BL and fortify it and who cares about the other two (well you could if you have enough manpower).

Plus, we are already losing all the WvW players to the FotM or other games like PS2, because THERE IS NO CONTENT. You having fun doesn’t mean everybody else is, and clearly we are losing people because it is not fun for them. What is going to happen in 2 months when ANet does nothing? More people will quit while you will have fun with 1/10 or less people than what it used to be 2 months ago.

My concern is that at the current state of the game, WvW will not last until Feb.

Eh, so WvW is grind? Grinding is Cursed Shore had a meaning to it, since it was a progress towards a legendary item (I gave up after the DR patch). What is the point of grinding in the borderlands when I really get nothing? People can just not play WvW until there is some reward to it or at least it is not “grind” anymore.

Sorry as much as i respect WM and what they can do, I have been on the recieving end of two WM Portal bombs and this was done BEFORE the Blackgate matchup so to say you dont do it is rubbish. I dont think it was unfair or wrong, just the fact your claiming WM didnt and dont use Portal bombing/turtling when they clearly do in some circumstances.

We said we don’t do turtling. Where in that post say a single word “portal”?

Are people now considering turtling = portal bombing?

Surely the entire server isn’t hacking, but the majority seems to think that this doesn’t at all improve their chances of winning. It does so by reducing opposition moral and the obvious buffs from the orbs. That’s the last thing I’ll say about the matter.

They won’t listen so we should just stop replying. They better learn some butterfly effects.

Jabtangs, not sure if the orb was reset. There is a game mechanic that resets the orb, so if u just got the orb and the orb is being reset u will lose it. Also the orb gives good buffs but really WM thinks that the orb is so important that not having it is like losing?? Well you don’t get the point. We don’t mind losing the orb.

However, here is the scenario. The red team borderlands has an extra bug atm. If the altar breaks there is no way of repairing it without changing the owner of the keep. What does this mean? you fortify the keep to save your orb right? To fortify, you put in gold to press the upgrade and time to get the yaks in. Yes we put in several hours of effort to get the tower upgraded enough that you feel secure. When we figured it was fortified enough, we told our server-mates that we will be going over to another borderland so we can get another orb for the server. 1 minute have past as we move out, ONE MINUTE, and the orb gets hacked out. You know what this means? It means that if we want the orb back in the red team borderland, we have to give up the keep to the enemies, then reclaim it, then reupgrade putting that same meaningless time to fortify. How many times have we gone through this process? countless. I’m not saying just this weekend. It was an ongoing thing for the past previous weeks. We never gave up, or we aren’t giving up right now either. We are just tired at the moment.

Then what happened was, we went over to another borderlands to just get an orb there, since we found that the orb was placed at the keep where it was on our side (green team borderlands – bay keep – we are blue team). We moved in and broke the altar, no orb?? We took over the keep and now what we have is a red orb inside a blue keep. Yes this bug was there the whole time, but it just reminded us again that this was here forever too.

Too many things happened over the past 2 days not in favor of us and we just got tired. Don’t tell us to ‘Just do your best and give it all’, because I doubt there is any guild in SBI that is not doing their best. We are just tired.

I saw a post earlier where one of your members said you were leaving WvW. I’m hoping that was just a bad translation b/c we certainly don’t want to lose you guys. I totally understand bowing out this week with all of the garbage that has been going on. I hope that is all that he meant.

He is one of our commanders leading over night time frame.

Many of us are upset about the orb hacking issue and it is true that many are staying out of it since it is not fun losing an orb instantly after fighting for it for hours. We’re just waiting on ANet to make an official announcement on the matter. I mean… It’s Halloween event season so lets all farm the Mad King!

To all WM: I’ve never played against you, but I wish you the best of luck outside GW2 in other games. I understand why you are leaving. On the flip side, ANet is making a change to server transfers on November 1. Perhaps changes to exploits and hacking will come soon after?

Hi, I am just a random guild member residing in WM.

I sometimes write posts on the forums for our commanders while they are mostly busy fighting in the borderlands.

This post is my personal thoughts and by no means I represent the guild.

WM enjoys reading all the post regarding us as they are fun and thankful to read. Some of the guild members, including me, are busy translating those post which do come up quite often. We also find this ‘COME IN ME’ thing to be extremely funny. Oh and you know what? The commander who said that phrase (along with many other funny phrases)? He keeps telling me that his engrish is getting better T^T…

Anyways, I see a lot of post these days about ‘orb hacking’, ‘turtling’ and what not. So I just figured I wanted to write some things down.

1. I saw a post saying ‘WM did orb hacking’ (not exactly this wording but you get the point). Well.. I posted a reply there too but ‘ss or never happened’. I can say this since I clearly know it never happened.

2. There are multiple posts saying ‘WM did turtling too’. This type of posts can be seen in this forum as well as the guru forums. I asked Bahaness about this matter whether it was true or not (I wasn’t playing at this time). He replied that we have tried it out to see how effective it is and how it works out, but we have decided that I does not fit in to our play style and we will probably not use it again (It’s boring ).

Here are my thoughts on this… why is ‘WM did something’ an excuse to make anything justified? Or more like, why are there even a post like that. We are just one of the guilds like any of yours, and I guess this means there is no point in writing ‘some guild did turtling so why you QQ’ kind of post simply dumb.

But I don’t think any of the commanders in WM really thinks the ‘turtling’ is a big issue (we have a larger problem that demoralizes everybody in 1 MINUTE). Some of our commanders decided that WvW is not worth it really with the orb hacking and the bugs related to it (You probably saw the post already).

Sorry if this post makes no sense as I’m not really a good writer. kitten you Engineering school.

ps. Did somebody already make a toon named ‘Come In Me’?

To add a little bit more of my opinion, ANet has better things to fix asap than this.
But yea, it needs to be fixed somehow.

It’s not an exploit nor a hack. Honestly it’s just a stupid game mechanic built in.

edit: I take back what I said. It is abusing the flaw of the design of the game.

My solution is to remove 5-man AoE cap for everywhere except lord’s room. The door crowd will have to rely on their allied AoE’rs to protect them — and more reliance on catas from a distance.

This is a wrong solution, cuz if they did this, everybody will just turtle in the lord room and nobody will be able to cap anything. There was a fight in JQ BL bay where the turtle was able to defend attacks from the other two servers CONSTANTLY, until they lost their (seemingly) only mesmer. No mesmer, turtle can’t move, you get cata’d to death.

This is a response on the behalf of Jang Gun, a WM commander.

You are misunderstanding the situation here. We do not discriminate anybody for not being a WM member. Yesterday night, we had to split the forces in to two (defense and offense). We had a bunch of commanders on the map at that time, but apparently not too many people were following the other commanders. Jang Gun thought a SINGLE LARGE (sorry for caps wanted to this phrase) zerg was not needed at that time. What we needed was multiple mid-size zergs to cover multiple fronts in the map. Jang Gun was talking to other commanders that we will be sending over some troops over to them so they can have more power. We did end up saying non-WM should follow other commanders them since we thought that was the easiest way to split the forces. If it offended anybody from our statement we do apologize for our words.

Once again thank you for all SBI fellows running WvW with us as it is fun for us and all of you.
