It’s obviously OP. Just imagine we are able to equip 4 on swap sigil, 1 on-kill stack and 3 others (on crit or perma bonus)? Also if we swap on water attunement, we can change to weapon that gave healing power, earth for something that is heavy condi damage.

  • Windborne Dagger is going to function outside of combat.
  • Soothing Disruption is moving to master tier.
  • Cantrip Mastery is moving to adept tier.

Yay! But it is not clear if Soothing Wave and Cleansing Wave will remain at their respective tiers, or if they’ll be swapped.

  • Soothing Wave redesign: Gain Regeneration(3s) on incoming critical hits. 10s recharge.

Interesting design, but it has some issues.

I assume this will be adept tier, right? Seems about right in power-level.

I misread at first and thought it would spec on our own critical hits, and that this trait would synergize well with air magic’s Soothing Winds. Apparently, that’s not what happens.

What I question about this redesign, is its synergy with the grandmaster Cleansing Water. If a player wishes to combine both for condition removal, which seems to be a very intuitive combo, the results aren’t going to be satisfying due to how unreliable it is. For example, what if I don’t have any condition on me once it triggers? Will it trigger and waste cleansing water’s cooldown? And even if it doesn’t, after getting critically hit, I would have to wait 10s until this combo could potentially do anything. It feels that both traits would combine poorly with each other, which is misleading, as their effects imply otherwise.

Perhaps a possible solution would be to reduce soothing wave’s cooldown to 5s, so that when combined with cleansing water, the combo is powerful enough to justify investing on a grandmaster trait just for it. The regen duration would need to be lower, of course, to 2s maybe. Would that make it too strong, considering it would make the trait individually stronger than what you have in mind?

Also, can the AI in pve critically hit? I honestly don’t know this, but I hope they can.

The design for soothing wave is that it won’t trigger the ICD unless it actually removes a condition.

I won’t conclude that soothing mist is OP just yet.

It requires 2 conditions to proc it. You need to have conditions and getting crits.

I think just having it proc on receiving crit will be much better than to meet all the conditions.

Earth XI – Diamond Skin. This trait has been redesigned. Conditions cannot be applied to you when your health is above the threshold. 90%.

What’s with all the immunity to condition stuff that are popping out here and there? If Anet wants to give something similar to Automated Response to Elementalists, this is the worst way to do it. Even though AR was quite strong against condition classes, the Engineer had to monitor their health really closely in order to make the best use of this trait not to mention that maintaining their health under the 25% threshold always puts them under the risk of dying from normal attacks.
Having to maintain your health above 90% in a vs condition fight is a whole different story. Probably the idea is for the elementalist to have to maintain their health above 90% but considering how little raw damage heavy-condition builds do, a bunker elementalist can easily heal through them and not ever drop under 90% without the help of raw damage classes.

If the current condition bursts are deemed too powerful, the solution is to reduce their burstiness (which I believe the update to the necro is a good step in that direction) not introduce more immunity to conditions and/or buff condition removals as that further destroys the non-burst condition builds.

90% is easy to maintain? Maybe in PvE but PvP or WvW. You will always down to less than 90%. Also don’t forget that endurance has been nerf throughout all the class. You can dodge slightly lesser than you used to.

Beside it says that conditions cannot be applied when health is above 90%. So if ele drop below 90%, condi applies and they regen it, the condi will still be there. Need I to remind you that ele has one of the worst healing skill. ER is good but it sucks since you can’t do anything for 4s except to run around.

Dungeons are child’s play, try high level (60+) fotm.

You managed to run fotm 60+? Wow. Congrats. I only know a few who has reach 52. You are probably the only person that I know that can run this with the current capped to agony resistance.

Anyway, to OP. Have you tried other profession yet? If this is your first class then it’s not gonna easy to master. I deleted my ele dozen times before I finally managed to get lvl 80. And I am loving it as my alt.

But let me be honest, this class is getting harder to play with each passing note. If you are having difficulty with d/d or staff or any of your equipment, I suggest you take 1-2 conjure weapon. It will make things easier in your PvE or dungeon content. Take lesser elemental as well if you have difficulty in dodging.

You can only get 100g/d in one of those days where you wake up to realise that your jealous gf ain’t mad at you anymore from looking at other girls.

Also the higher your mf, don’t necessarily mean that you can get 15g/h. I’ve got a friend who who mf with 250 with booster, food and banner and still yield about 2-3g/h. And he managed to get 2 exos that he sold for 1g+. I only have 120 mf. And on one fine day, I get crystal guardian where I sold for 10g.

But to call it 100g/d is a blatant lie. If you run for 5 days and get 500g/d. I suggest you try going to casino and make yourself richer with real cash then in-game gold.

RNG is bad? It’s called random. If they improve random from 1-10%. Does it even worth called precursor for legendary. It will be just like any other exo out there in TP.

Beside if you don’t enjoy the farming anymore, just get it from TP and stop whining. I spend 400G on mf and finally decided to just save up and purchase 1. I am one of those that have come to agreement that my luck is just not as great as the others. So go and learn to accept reality. This is life and life has never been fair.

If you don’t want to buy it then just wait for Anet implement the craft for precursor.

Wow… Wow.. Really?

First of all, you are spending way too much time on this if you earning 100g in champ farming. I only do this for 1-2h a day and I get bored of it quickly.

Also champ farming does not inflate the economy. The people who inflate the economy are those who are trying to be greedy and sell at high prices. If you follow the market rate and average it out, you can get your mats at lesser price then stated.

You should really learn to earn income from TP. It’s another method of earning gold but takes lots of careful decision and it punished little of the effort that you put unless you buy something that is ridiculously unpopular.

Anyway, I really see no reason of nerfing it the champ train. There are various method of earning gold. And champ train is legit. Even 4s per chest is not really nerf since you earn from selling blue & green to merchant and exo and lodestone to TP. If there are more supplies, the market price will drop. Simple as that.

Well.. Since there’s gonna be a rework to Elementalist to access to windborne dagger. Can this be buffed that it work in and out-of combat?

Signet of Air works fine but I have rather spend the extra utilities to elsewhere.

You can’t measure effectiveness by no. If you are looking at benefit then it has to be percentage increase. Isn’t this thread is all about the effectiveness of transcending from exo to ascended?

Of those 5 apples, ranger got $1.75 for each. He is now $8.75 better off. Warrior, on the other hand, managed to sell his apples for $2.30. He’s now $11.50 better off! See what happens when you add those coefficients to the math?

I give up. Please QQ ranger. No point playing the worst class. If you are not playing it already then just ignore my post.

I don’t have the gold to do the whole test so I am just gonna used build editor to test it (since it’s pretty accurate).
Full ascended berserker GS:
Ranger: 1473 dmg over 2.56s
Warrior: 1938 dmg over 2.4s
Guardian: 2359 dmg over 2.5s

Full exo berserker GS:
Ranger: 1352 dmg over 2.56s
Warrior: 1780 dmg over 2.4s
Guardian: 2166 dmg over 2.5s

The percentage of increased in damage from exo to ascended:
Ranger: 8.949%
Warrior: 8.876%
Guardian: 8.9104%

Clearly that Ranger gain the most benefit from going ascended.

Your feline (untraited from bm):
Slash: 613

Let’s assume that a ranger use gs and has feline pet that use slash:
Full exo berserker Ranger: Ranger: 1352 dmg over 2.56s + 613
Full ascended berserker Ranger: 1473 dmg over 2.56s + 613

By mere sheer raw damage, there is no class that can outhit ranger in consistent damage since there is 2 damage output (when the pet is up).
Here is the new equation that you might look at. When transcending exo gear to ascended, all class gain benefit of min 5% in damage. While Ranger gain min 5% in damage + y where y is the pet he chose.

Edit:
I also used to hate pet system since they are always down but if you think about it. if your pet can remain active or stats increase from what they currently are, ranger will be the best dps class. Pet has recharge time of 20s (untraited) if down will be 60s (untraited).
But when you down and rally, your pet is also up. F2 may be broken but your pet has other 3 skills that you can’t interrupt (nor control). Please spare some thinking on how imbalance a ranger class and its pet.

Here is my 2 cent about gw2 forum:
There will always be a lot of people whine about its own class. Nerf this nerf that, buff this buff that, change this change that. Every now and then there will be some positive person like you and some others. (I am the former but I already stop doing it since it’s pointless.)

My advice is to run what you like. Check this forum only for guide update. There are some pretty good guides around here.

You will be wasting your time arguing with some people around here. Ele is great class, even though she is my alt, I run her a lot. I am considering to make her main since the gold that I invested on her armor is so awesome!

Ok. Maybe internal cd may not be the appropriate word. But you can’t stack 2 different on-kill stacking sigil. So unless you have another better term to explain why you can’t have 2 on-kill stack sigi, I think it’s easier to understood to use internal cd on the secondary similiar sigil.

Cool. This can be abusive on PvP. 10 stack on each kill.

Have you tried this before? I personally have never tried 2 on-kill stacking of the same 1. But I am pretty sure that you will only get 1 stack. Since once the main hand sigil proc, your off-hand sigil will go on internal cd. But if this work then it will be interesting.

Some people are just skeptical. Once they play long enough, they will realise that it’s better to spend the 25 sp than farm for it.

But it’s kind of ridiculous though. The healing is sub par and the condition that removes are limited to only 4 conditions (1 unique pollen).

The reason is probably due to different gear. The guardian that you hit probably has no toughness or little toughness. The more toughness the lesser damage you receive. But it’s really hard to tell. Why don’t you test it on mist using steady staff. You can see the damage difference to golem that has heavy, medium and light armor.

FYI: light, medium and heavy golem in the mist has 2000, 2200 and 2600 armor respectively

It doesn’t overlap with any other class burning except the same spirit.

If you want to buff your allies, the most reliable will be to trait vigorous spirit and use frost spirit.

If you want to use sun spirit, you don’t have to worry about it overwritten other’s burning. Whoever apply the burning used their own condi damage to apply the burn.

You have to buff thief? They are only good when running dungeon in stealth to avoid adds. It’s hardly any point in buffing them if they go down as fast as you. Well, at least that’s what I have seen so far for most of the thief that I play with a few exception.

Anyway I used to be that kind of kitten that tell people what to run and so on. But eventually I kind of give up. So just play the style you want to play but it’s just not gonna be as effective. If it’s not working out for your current teammate, you can just QQ and re-run with better teammate. My suggestion is to join a GOOD guild and run dungeon with them occasionally. It will make you less frustrated when you become good to the game.

I may be answering your question wrongly but what you mean that the skill goes cd even without firing the skill?

I have never experienced this before. I always strafing or back pedalling on 2. 3 will only trigger if it hits the enemy. 4 in the distance you will just see it knockdown but at closer range, the knockdown is very obvious (if the enemy can be knockdown).

If you see that the your hp dropped too fast, then you are probably in the right track. Ele by far can dish tonnes of burst damage when you have done your rotation. (Also you need to rely on dodge for survivability, no other way round it, unless you take mist form).

Since you are running with pugs, it’s not that unheard of if they are not doing what they are supposed to do. Just last night, I run AC p1 with 3 members of the same guild. Ele who don’t know how good conjure weapon, guardian who don’t know how good staff is and a mesmer. Sometime even you telling them what to do, they just don’t want to listen. End up 30 min stuck at the hogkin and everybody QQ.

Regeneration Ranger?

I have personally have tried plenty of build while in WvW. The build that I provided you is what I have personally used. I know is not the best but I works for me.

It’s been so long since I trait natural healing. But if I recall correctly, it didn’t scale with your healing power. So you will get that 133 healing every 3 s.

It’s not the best but it can at least ensure that I can escape xvx when fight is lost. I don’t recommend it for roaming though since you don’t have that instant burst damage. I have taken down a few mesmer and ele and trapper ranger using this build while making my way to the zerg but all may just be luck. I also did lost a lot to warrior.

Anyway, since you already created a ranger, I suggest you try to theorycraft what works for you. What may work for others may not work for you since everybody has different play style. Recently, most of the exo price has dropped. You can get full gear for less than 6g without rune. Bird and feline deals the most damage since it has higher precision. But if you want more stable for damage and survivability of pet, you can try drake or devourer.

His gear is just my guess but he may have gone full giver which has toughness, healing power and boon duration. The first regen that triggered will be from adapt trait Rejuvenation. So when it ran out, he may have use protect me + troll urgent to get his hp full up. Also Empathic bond may have save him from the bleed since it removes condi every 10s and transfer to the pet.

However if you kill the pet then this will probably his build for condi cleanser:

S/d dagger provides the most mobility + ?/w allow him to be very mobile. Unless he use sb instead. Does my build make sense to his escape?

New player looking for some tips on my build.

Are you playing bunker? This is first. PvP is fast paced. Once you have point captured or your team lack of defensive, you need to be mobile.

2 type of ranger that I typically see or I have tried myself is trapper and spirit. I think you will have better success at this area then being a bunker. Ranger need to be mobile since your best healing skill is so-so. But I am no pro at PvP so I maybe wrong. Try to look at the guides. There are many good guides about spirit ranger or trapper. Those list should still up to date since Anet has not touched either of them.

Scepter/focus build, help needed!

Here are things that you may or may not know yet about focus:
Flamewall – 1 second burning. Any decent player will walk away from it no matter how good you are.
Fire shield – self explanatory. Enemy goes aggressive, they are punished with 1s burn and grant you 1 stack of might.
Freezing gust – 3s chill. I still don’t know how you got the idea that this skill can lock a decent player to get hit by 180 aoe DT.
Comet – 2s Daze. Not stun. Player can move just can’t use skill. Also it has delay about 1s. So there is a chance to miss if the enemy is moving around.
Swirling winds – 6s remove projectile but no damage or retaliation. If melee this skill is useless.
Gale – range version of updraft but no evasion.
Magnetic wave – 3s of reflect projectile and cure 3 condition. Again if melee, you are dead. You can’t cure daze or stun if you got hit. Since it’s not a break stun skill.
Obsidian flesh – self explanatory. Invulnerable for 5s.

Here is my 2cent:
Fire attribute is pretty much useless since you will only use fire aura and phoenix (1 condition cleanser and vigor). Scepter skill 1 has 1.25 cast time for okayish damage + 2 s burn. DT has about 2-3s drop time. You probably will not be here all the time.
Water – One of your best damage dealer skill 1. Shatterstone is as bad as DT. Trident has good heal as cleansive wave with shorter duration but no cleansing cleaner. 3s chill and 2 daze .
Air – This is where most of your damage will probably from unless you go condi. Lightning and blinding are instant skill allows you to use it while channeling other skill. Also this has your best cc. Range knockdown. Skill 4 is useless against melee.
Earth – your condi damage. Skill 1 works the same as fire 1 but better since the damage output + bleed is pretty decent but it has short range. Skill 2 provide tougness, I don’t think you want to cast it. Since the damage is pretty low. Skill 3 has blind but if your enemy is afar, this skill will likely to miss. 4 & 5 is self explanatory. Use 4 within 180 aoe of your allies to condi cleanser your allies. 5 is super defensive.

As can be seen from my explain above and obvious that either the warrior hammer makes too many mistake or the mesmer just too kitten good.

Anyway I still failed to see how focus can be awesome in PvP. You may need to try harder to convince me that S/F is better than D/D.

Also any ele should know that, their healing skill sucks. Ether has great heal and condi cleanser but you are immobile for 4 s to take the full effects. Glyph your 2nd best healing skill but has long recharge time and 1.5s cast time with additional boon. Signet is as good as warrior signet but since ele has slower cast time and has no trait to boost it unless you go 30 earth. This is where water d/d comes in handy. Skill 2 provide a mobile healing without has to hit your enemy and it skill 5 a small burst heal. I think this provide a more survivability than s/f.

New reliable PvE and WvW build

Not to criticise but I think that your build just looks like in the number with ascended. If you swap it to exotic, your trinket is just sub-par quality. Which don’t cover neither here nor there.

Your build is very focus in making sure that your pet remain alive(a typical BM). Troll urgent provide awesome regen but no condi cleanser and also if you use to keep your pet alive the regen maybe a bit slow if you are XvX in WvW or boss dungeon. If your pet is dead, you will have no cleanser at all. You should probably not advice people to take protect me since if your pet take your share of damage as well, they will down even faster. The major trait in BM allow your pet to be in active again 20% faster which is nice but once your pet down, your damage will just become pure raw. Your crit chance is about 60% since it’s ascended. But you are really not that bunker.

But overall is pretty decent BM (with the current AI for pet and the mechanic, thereis probably no BM build that can be called “Awesome”). It’s also not a very cheap build as well with these trinket. People might have to invest another set of trinket just to run higher level FotM.

I’m not sure if it works with lingering elements…I’ll test that tonight.

You get might stacks from PP if you are attuned to fire, regardless of what’s in your hands. So…you still get might stacks from frost bow, lightening hammer, and fiery greatsword (as long as you’re attuned to fire), although you don’t get double stacks like you do with flame axe.

I just tested it on PvP. The might stack is incredible but lava axe attack animation is too horrible. When everyone is strafing and you throwing your lava axe is often miss. I managed to get 2 kill with flame axe due to with flame leap. It’s pretty good imho but I rather spend the 20 trait point of arcane on elsewhere.

Also you might want to edit your last arcane trait, you are using d/d and yet you trait blasting staff. ROFL!

I like both builds, do you find you are lacking enough dps to take people down with the WvW build?

I don’t WvW a lot. So I won’t say that I am very good at it. I also don’t roam alone. I usually follow the commander when invading.

This is what I normally do, wh 5 to start with, then target the enemy that is left behind with axe 3 Then follow by gs 3 then gs 5. This normally will ensure a stun. The rest of the skills are pretty self explanatory. You can actually replace sic em with guard since that was my orignal build but I kind of like how sic em now since it apply a 4s revealed debuff.

But to answer your question, if you are not fighting them in swarm, I don’t normally be able to take down quick enough since this is more of a bunker build. But I have lost very little since I used this set of gear. Most of my lost are to warrior hammer (their stun lock was OP). But so far I have encountered any warrior hammer yet. Hopefully the stun lock is much controllable since sigil of paralyzation has been fixed.

Basically conjure to water and use FGS. Use Arcane Wave to trigger Arcane Lightning for 15 sec. When 15 sec up, use Arcane Blast to continue Arcance Lightning. If FGS charge finish, you can pick up another FGS unless your team is a kitten. Then use LH. Before each fight attune to fire use fire 4 then go to earth 4 then 5.

I saw a lot of bla this bla that. Have you actually tested the new ranger patched yet? If not I suggest you to test it.

Healing spring: Instead of 15s, your field last for 10. It still has 5 ticks. Previously you regen 2340 for 6 ticks (first ticks from the moment you put down your spring). Each ticks heal you for 390 for duration of 3 sec. Now you heal for 2 sec. How is this bad? Also 10s is more than enough to spam your blast finisher. 5s don’t really make much difference.

Jungle Stalker: I am not big fan of pet since it’s just a luggage. But heck if while it still alive it can give your party for 5 might for 15 sec. Heck why not?

Also to be fair, I think Anet should consider to patch the broken pet. It’s AI is still very terrible. Ranger sword still locked the class due the attack animation is lower than the shown tooltip (0.5 sec). The best way to move out is after the last chain but it’s ridiculous to only be able to move out at only the last chain.

I still have not tested the rest of ranger patch yet since the rest don’t really interest me but I may give it a shot to see why you all whine so much about it.

Well. I don’t know about you guys but have you guys ever thought that thief is not the only class that rely on stealth.

Mesmer has a very similiar mechanic that grant them stealth as well. But unlike thief, mesmer can’t go invis all the time. Roaming mesmer used decoy and/or veil. Mass invis has duration of 5 sec and cast time of 1.75s.

Also if you guys have not tested this yet, apparently the “revealed” debuff is casted the moment you cast it. So you don’t actually have to wait for you pet to hit the target for the debuff to take effect. But again 4 sec debuff is not that great but a good start to control invis mesmer. I don’t expect this to be able to counter thief just yet since they have way to many skill that allows them to be stealth. They even have field for it.

What are you talking about? If you are referring to sPvP. Just run spirit ranger with bow. Let your pet and your range attack do the job.

the pet’s HP is not shown correctly, might be that I’m wrong.
should be 74% more health, right?

I think the 74%+ hp is only for minions (necro pets) and phantasms (mesm illus).

I confirmed that the hp has been implemented. I just solo Quaggan Champion with Jungle Stalker. Before the patch, 3-4 hit your pet down.

Yeah. We know that but this is why we are telling you this that ele staff sucks in 1v1 or sPvP. Heck it sucks even in WvW roaming. Ele staff is only great for its combo field. Its meteor shower is unreliable since it drop in random location of 360 thus easily dodge. Lava font is only reliable to downed enemy since they can’t heal or hard to ress (still possible to avoid the lava font damage for players who tried to ress downed players).

If you see players who play staff in sPvP or roaming, they are probably either a total kitten or noob or trolling or hiding its conjure weapon with fresh air build (the new patch will make this build insanely crazy. 200% increase in movement).

Anyway let me retract my sentence, any class should never ever run full zerker in WvW. You will just be so paper that you will be downed quickly.

Also those of you who think you can take down warrior hammer 1v1 any class (except warrior hammer), feel free to give it a try. The current meta for warrior hammer is too broken. Even you have stun break, you probably can escape the stun twice at max. If you are taking up my challenging, post a video you taking down a warrior hammer. You can let the viewer decide if the warrior is good or bad.

Additionally if you think that your staff can dps so much in dungeon, post us a video of you actually doing “damage” with your stuff that you are so proud of.

If you can’t proof to me that your staff can deal as much damage as d/d or s/d without conjure weapon then please stop giving excuses. Oh wait before you attempt please check the difference in damages of your staff and d/d and s/d damages in gw2 wiki before you attempt. I don’t want you to waste your futile effort before attempting it. Just a quick preview of what you will expect of your best damage against your foe:
Meteor shower: 481 damage x 24
Fire grab: 941 damage (against burning foe)
Churning earth: 1,092 damage + 2,720 bleed

If you are still convinced then go ahead post a video. If you can’t then it’s ok. Anet said that anybody can be any role in the game. If you are staff ele as long you don’t be burden and your party don’t mind then it’s all good.

Hmmm. Love numbers thread. To be honest, I don’t think it’s fair calculation. Here’s new perspective if you think crossfire is underpowered.

Tooltip description:
Warrior’s Bleeding Shot
Damage: 155
Bleeding: 6 s (255 damage)
Combo Finisher: Physical Projectile (20% chance)
Range: 1,200
Time: 0.75 sec

Ranger’s Crossfire
Damage: 134
Bleeding: 3 s (128 damage)
Combo Finisher: Physical Projectile (20% chance)
Range: 900
Time: 0.5 sec

Thief Cluster Bomb
Large explosion: 487
Damage Small explosion: 168
Bleeding: 4 s (510 damage)
Combo Finisher: Blast
Range: 900
Time 0.5 sec
Initiative: 3

Since thief only has 12 initiative which can only shot about 4 times. I am gonna compare their damages under 2 sec.
Assumption:
The enemy is at point blank range thus achieving the actual attack cast time.
Each shot will be on the side so that Ranger bleed will applies.
Each class will stop attack after time’s up, bleed duration and stack will still apply.
Only the mention attack above counts.
Ignore armor.

Since warrior can’t do additional shot less than 2 sec, we shall take the time be 1.5s.

In 1.5s:
Warrior’s Bleeding Shot
Damage: 155 × 2 = 310
Bleeding: 6 s (255 damage) x 2 = (510 bleed damage)
Total damage = 820

Ranger’s Crossfire
Damage: 134 × 3 = 402
Bleeding: 3 s (128 damage) x 3 = (384 bleed damage)
Total damage = 786

Thief Cluster Bomb
Large explosion: 487 × 3 = 1461
Damage Small explosion: 168 (n.a. point blank)
Bleeding: 4 s (510 damage) x 3 = 1530 (bleed damage)
Total Damage = 2991

It’s obvious that thief cluster bomb is the best since assuming that all of its cluster hit within short duration.

However if duration is to stretch out thief can only deal damage every 4 sec since an initiative recharge time is 1.33s.

Thus in 12s after thief used up all its initiatives:
Warrior’s Bleeding Shot
Damage: 155 × 16 = 2480
Bleeding: 6 s (255 damage) x 16 = (4080 bleed damage)
Total damage = 6560

Ranger’s Crossfire
Damage: 134 × 24 = 3216
Bleeding: 3 s (128 damage) x 3 = (3072 bleed damage)
Total damage = 6288

Thief Cluster Bomb
Large explosion: 487 × 3 = 1461
Damage Small explosion: 168 (n.a. point blank)
Bleeding: 4 s (510 damage) x 3 = 1530 (bleed damage)
Total Damage = 2991

Now thief cluster bomb is the worst in long run and it actually used all of its initiative.
If Ranger trait Hunter’s tactic:
Damage: 3216 × 110% = 3537 (round down)
Bleeding: 3 s (128 damage) x 3 = (3072 bleed damage)
Total damage = 6609

In this case ranger crossbow take the lead. However in the real scenario where it’s almost impossible to land 100% flank all times. Warrior bleeding shot will be more reliable for the actual output damage. However warrior bleeding shot is actually 0.96s per attack. While ranger crossfire is 0.54s. While thief has 1 whole sec for detonate cluster to activate and only if all 3 hit can it deal its maximum damage.

So to summarise, Ranger Crossfire is actually more reliable in term of the actual damage output with or without hunter’s tactic trait since the bleed damage is actually is pretty low. =)

Well. If that’s the case, I think Anet should consider to remove the part “your pet grow larger”. As it is pointless. Like literally. Since there is really no direct benefit from it. Anyway I don’t really take this signet other than for it’s hp regen. If you need stability, rampage as one has better duration.

You think stability and a 25% dmg increase for duration is of absolutely no benefit? If they removed it the signet would really be worthless.

You obviously do not understand my sentence. Here let me break it down so you can understand clearly.

The tooltip said this:
Active: Your pet grows larger, dealing more damage and gaining stability.

Anet should REMOVE this PART Your pet grows larger,".

Hence the new tooltip will be written as such:
Active: dealing more damage and gaining stability.

But since this sentence does not explain to whom it may affect. Let me correct it so that it will affect your pet like any other ranger’s signet. Hence the new tooltip that Anet should consider will be written as such:
Active: Your pet is dealing more damage and gaining stability.

Additionally Signet of Beastmastery tooltip is written as such:
Active effects of signets also affect you.

If traited with Signet of Beastmastery, you will get the active effect of “dealing more damage and gaining stability.” Since you don’t grow larger, you can ressurect players and interact with object.

If im correct everyone has there own healing skills in this game.
there own choices in defense or offense, to mix and match what they need.

why does anet think we need support in this game at all, what for?

they watched too much league of legends lately?

And even if they did, everyone hates to play support there…
Just why?

I am gonna the rest of the post since there are many. Well. PRO! And they seems to know what they are talking about.

For starter, I hate staff ele. They are just too slow since I play PvE content most of the time unless I need badges.

Also you will be so glad to find that there are many players who will gladly play support thinking that they can keep the whole party alive. I am talking about PvE content here.

But to answer your question, I have seen many elementalist who play staff in wvw. I am not sure about pvp since the last I seen 1 is using d/d was a couple of months ago. Anyway as you stated, anybody can be in any role. The only support you need to do is ress and provide field.

This is my 2 cent about ele staff:
In wvw, you will probably will never see ele staff running alone. Even if they do, they probably has conjure weapon. The great things about staff ele is they have tons of combo field. Espcially water, dropping at the right location and if your guildies or servers know what to do. Everyone will spam blast on top of it and you will have team full hp in no time. Also don’t count on fire to deal massive damage. Their lava font is good in preventing ress and meteor is good for zoning since you drop 24 meteor in 3.75 sec in 360 degree. The area is prety decent but no way in hell you can count on this to chase away 30 players (unless the enemy guardian is too noob). You also great mechanic of escape which is air 4. But the downside is capped to 5 allies. And pls don think about running zerk gear withe ele stuff in wvw. It’s total waste unless you planning to head to frontline with conjure weapon. If not I recommend get full pvt.

However if you are ele and running dungeon with me, if you running with staff and has no conjure to compensate your lack of dps, I will be kitten sure to kick you out.

Sun Spirit troubles

I think you might have misunderstood my post. In the tooltip it shown that it has 10 sec effect recharge but actually there is none thus the bug.

Depend on your PVE content. But current meta frost spirit is a must.
