It has happened to me trice today that I was on a character in Diessa and the moment I would log out the character selection screen would give the position as Lions Arch. where I would be once I logged in again. This is really inconvenient.
I just have experienced this, after trying the achievement 4 times, I read this and tried it, I hit the boss sometimes during the fight and in the end I got the achievement!
The focus on tangible objectives rather than score. However the timer still and will annoy me. Pretty anti-climatic.
Maybe they can add an “overtime” mechanic. If it goes past 15 minutes, another 5 minutes is added, and all players are buffed so the NPCs are killed faster.
I though about this too, some sudden death (no respawn) mechanic might be better in this case
That would just lead to everyone bunkering.
Hmm you got me there, so what about at the suggestion to let NPCs move to mid at 15 min and have the final fight there.
Edit: Which also favors the team which defended best, since they have more NPCs left

Nothing i HATE having to wait in conquest to play this so i havent even got to try it yet
If you want my money you better make this part of guild halls in expansion. You do know that it’s the only map available in unranked atm? You don’t have to wait through conquest matches.
I didnt know that because last time it told me to wait for a WHOLE 45 MINUTES which i obviously didn’t do.
There are/were some bugs with Queues
Though the only way to play stronghold is unranked for this beta
barely feels like gvg, really feels like LoL/dota
It is not GvG to begin with
Another thought, i feel like the npcs are really weak vs. players, like archers and guards take no time for players to kill. They feel useless when you have a massive team fight in front of gates.
It’s PvP after all, players matter not NPCs
I got a new upgrade building by changing the order in the que, hope this helps as well.
Well changing the order did help me get the que building at least one upgrade
Not that I know of, we’ll have to wait
You are not the only one..
Oh btw to fix the guild chat problem, you can change your status to invisible and back to online, that fixes it temporarily.
Yup our build que is stuck as well,
I did see it count down but now it stuck here.
Change status to invisible and back to online, should fix it for at least some time
It’s not even working yet. But from the wiki: “Dishonor is a system to prevent players from joining unranked and ranked arenas after player misconduct, such as leaving or not participating (AFKing) in matches. Each instance of undesired behavior will immediately result in a timeout and increase the player’s dishonor stat. Frequent misbehaving will result in increased duration of timeouts. Dishonor is not currently active.”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Structured_PvP#Dishonor
I just got it again, so it’s not fixed yet..
This is how the match ended, it could be the result of the double que:
It’s to prevent situations like this:
(Match ended in 194-500)
So if you leave it’s a win for the other team for sure.
Just block and report

Let me sell these, I cannot even use them, I have all the professions maxed out.
Allow people to list Tomes of Knowledge on the trading post.
You can use them, they’ll just act as a Scroll of Knowledge :P
Or what about each lvl 80 char giving a certain percentage xp gain to the account bonuses?
i think few people who replied to this thread didn’t read OP’s argument properly. what he meant is , once you have completed the LS episode with a character, the achievements for that episode should be able to be completed with another character doing the same story (all over again), without the need for that character to finish it like the first one.
he did not say that once the first character finished a ls episode, the story is done for all characters, no he did not say that. he was talking about the access to the achievement, which i second.
Indeed if you have done the story on one character and unlocked the achievements, you should be able to get the achievements on another character’s first run!
The story was solid. I found myself able to forgive the whole bloodstones lore redcon, because it was properly explained in game for once.
Wait what do you mean by this, now I think I have missed something…
I hope this is the right place to post this, but would it be possible to preview the outfit instead of the armor while use either Self-Style Hair Kit or Total Makeover Kit. I was wondering this because the Noble Count Outfit has some major clipping issues and I would like to see if a hairstyle clips with it before applying it.
I was hoping that the collar would disappear if you hid your shoulders, but sadly not.
Or the earrings if you hide headpiece.
First and second are good names, the third is a bit non traditional maybe.
My sylvari is a male necromancer called Keayne, he became a necromancer because of Killeen and took the name after Dougal Keane.
I noticed it too when I made a sylvari today, I think it’s really sad it was such a nice touch…
it made sense, it makes less sense for sylvary to awaken fully clothed in clothing that don’t even look sylvary to begin with.
True, but I can live with non looking sylvari clothes, if they at least awaken naked..
I’ve always thought their first armor set should be a more plantlike armor. They’ve just awoken and they should have armor that is grown from their bodies.
Well that’s why they are (read: were) naked.
Please ANet bring this little thing back, make it the first objective or something.
Or make it so that sylvari are naked in the dream too, maybe that would take away the confusion?!
Along the lines of “make it physical”, I would LOVE to see a physical representation for when a guild is busy “building” a guild element, whether a literal house portion or working their way to a Guild Bank. Workers milling about, scaffolding, each in the right “area” of the guild housing to show what’s being worked on, without having to dive into a menu.
How about making it so that part if it needs to be done by guild-members? So you see guild-members running around building things?
Make it like some event in the guild halls, with a progress bar.
And like the hearts make have multiple ways to complete it:
– Bring resources
– Defend workers form x
– etc.Thats basically like the WvW keep upgrade works (btw what to defend the workers against here?) I was more thinking in the way siege building works in WvW.
I guess that really depends on where the guild halls would be placed, but it’s Tyria or the Mists neither are safe places.

Proposal Overview:
The mist a new frontier: the major problem I have seen in guildhalls for this particular game is the lack of land to place this type of infrastructure, the realm of the Mist would make a perfect home for Guildhalls.
I think I said something similar to this months and months ago. Them putting the Guild Halls in the Mists would allow them to handwave any questions of how thousands of guilds could have mansions in the same area, and it would also allow the devs to get creative and come up with as many different themes as they want.
Guilds’ want a hall based on the Mursaat stronghold set in the Ring of Fire, or how about a watery underground temple dedicated to Abaddon? Those might be hard to explain if they were still in Tyria, but they are easily explained if they’re set in the Mists.
I was going to post a suggestion just like this, but now I’ll just add some to this:
– In the Mists the different islands could collide during a GvG
(As GvG inside main cities seems like a bad idea to me)
– In the Mists there could also be some form of PvE with (all kind of) spawned creatures
The Mists would allow for many things without contradicting lore.

Basically removing the achievement requirement during a tournament is an experimental step we took to reduce the incentive for achievement grinding. We want people to play WvW, and not focus too heavily on satisfying achievement requirements.
If we find that players prefer having numerous things to check off a list, then we would certainly take that feedback into account and consider it for future tournaments.
We discussed this with the guild and we thought the idea was good, but 5 events was not enough we thought it should be around 50.
One way of implementing could be a simple modification like the one in the image I’ve attached to this post. I’ve added channels for home server chat (/h), roleplay (/rp) and alliances (/a & /a1-a5) because you might as well add the other common requested channels while doing guilds. I’ve also assumed that the cap would be 1 alliance per guild, because otherwise the system would become massively complex from a chat point of view.
I think it was mentioned before, but why not use a system similar to the wispers.
As an example /g <name of guild> and even use an autocomplete function like the mail already has or a dropdown menu or something similar.
And since we are talking about the guild chat, what I (and other guildies) would like is to keep guild chat history after switching characters
There are a lot of players grumbling, myself included, about not getting the many types of content people have been frequently asking for on these forums. So, I’ve come to the conclusion that feature patches are more about polish than about content.
Well it is a feature patch, so yeah it is logical that it doesn’t contain content.
Features != content
I like this idea but it should hold for all weapon slots also primary. After all we can fight with fisticuffs. Not really sure how to handle the stats, maybe give basic stats if nothing is equiped and if ‘gloves’ are used you can get e.g. rare or legendary (requires legendary gloves ^^) stats. Just some of my thoughts to this topic
Rurik was Adelbern’s daughter
Though I do not agree on that statement,
Baradin was fine with Adelbern being king and Adelbern is a decendant of Doric.

@JerryMain, if you reference to something it would be nice to use it as the example of the issue you describe first. Seeing I hardly play the Temple Events, and thus have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about, even more so in relation to Mega Servers? Your ‘what might be great feedback’, becomes entirely useless… What is the problem? How do Mega Server relate to the problem? (and where you can see an example of this I now understand)
Ok, so I was being a bit lazy there, but I looked it up:
“Temples of Orr—The cross-map mechanics of these temples will be disabled. Instead, god statues will be active only when the nearest temple is contested.”
So that taken into account I’m not entirely sure a system with cross map progression would work with the megaservers.
I hope that cleared it up.

No to player housing and yes to Guild Halls http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_hall . I do realize we will NOT get Guild Halls until we get GvG tho(which may be never)
Yes, Guild halls and GvG both please! Player housing only after those.
I bet all of the people that answred no in this thread is people who already have all the skins.
They put effort into it. It’s a reward for that. So seems logical I think. And no I don’t have all of them.
Nope, they need to remain exclusive
I think there might be a problem by zone to zone invasion: Mega servers, just look at the temple events.
I must say I always enjoy your posts and I like the idea of the lieutenants. As do I agree on your comments about the Arah story. However there is one thing, besides the pact the orders are also multi racial organizations.
This new group is too perfect and not edgy enough. I also agree with the comment that it feels like you are not the hero at all. I’m barely involved except when Margery calls me “boss” every once in a while. For whatever reason, I don’t feel like when they say “boss” or “commander” or whatever that they’re talking about me. I feel like I’m listening to them refer to someone else…? Not sure how to fix it, but I’ve not felt this way in other games.
Give your char some actual voice dialogue? Mayve with those PS dialogue scenes.
I know you can get in that was not the point. I just noticed to proceed (so yes do it all over again resetting the completed status) you needed the mail, which doesn’t really work like it should I think
So I tried opening my mail a few times go through it and pressing the “Show me” button and it and it didn’t work. So I wanted to make a screenshot to show it, precisely at that moment it did work, so I can replay it now, but I’m not sure it is entirely bug free.
I tried reading it again, did not work though. But I’ll try again later to make sure I read the right one.
Edit: Though I can’t imagine it is intended that you need to keep the mail just to replay the story
(edited by JerryMain.4371)
On replaying the living story you can’t progress, because the first thing you need to do is check you mail which you don’t get the second time, if you go in the instance anyway it say: “This is not your active story. Any progress made in this instance will not be saved.”
We’re going to Maguuma, but the Zephyrites are shot down, not sure what it has to do with eachother so I don’t really know who would be responsible. I do hope there is one hell of an explanation to it, to make for a good story.
I’ve been with this guild from the first day I started playing GW2. We have a nice community with helpful players and since we come from all over the world there are always some people online to play or chat.
Gotta be the Devil’s Advocate here, sorry.
As someone who has participated in all the Living World content to date (and who only gets an hour or two a week to play, which I dedicate to LW), skins earned are the only way to display my achievements and my dedication to be a part of the moving and changing world, apart from a couple of titles. They’re badges of honor. It was the same way for the longest time with holiday and special event skins in GW1. If those become readily available, suddenly they mean nothing to players like me.
Some would argue it’s about the look, not the prestige, but I disagree. There are a lot of armors and weapons to choose form in this game, and there will be a lot more in the future as season 2 rolls out. I’d encourage new players to look forward to making their mark now, rather than pushing for rewards from events they weren’t around for. Even making them re-playable destroys the historical significance of the event.
Anet said from the beginning they were looking to build a game with permanence, meaning things happen and stay happened. Honestly, I’d love more one-time huge finales like the Karka Queen. It doesn’t make sense to stomp Mai Trin’s face in 300 times, or to be able to go back in time a year later and do it again.
I do agree with you, but the skins that you’ve earned but no longer have should be made available in wardrobe..
Some may have deleted them because of space issues, which no longer exist due to the new wardrobe system, where all of them are shown and this is teasing me pretty hard.
This is exactly the problem I have with some of the skins, e.g. the injection backpack piece (don’t know the exact name, but the Nightmare Aftermath one) I got it but I didn’t have it wenn the wardrobe was introduced.
Took me a while to figure this out. It would be helpful if they would publish information with mechanics changes.
Go to your wardrobe panel and choose weapons. You will see two categories. The group at the top of the screen will contain the zenith skin. When you select it, it will give you the transmute screen but the transmute cost will be 0 charges instead of 1.
Pretty clumsy but whatever….
Ah yes you’re right thx!
