No, it works as intended. You don’t get the barrier on hit or on cast. You get the barrier when you pick up the “magical sands” that drop after hitting an enemy.
I do agree, however, that it is a weak skill.
If i’m right you also have to face torwards your enemy to even create these serpents. Feels like Firebrand cones
Hmm, that’s weird. I never experienced this before so I went in-game to check it. It works fine for me whether I’m facing the enemy or not.
Where did you test it?
I tried it in EB on some Moas and Sheep. No serpent has appeared while moving away and casting infront or behind me.

I hope the new expansion adds a lot of new armor sets. Not the ones you have to grind for like auric weapons,bladed armor etc, normal armor that drops from enemies in masterwork and rare quality with new skins
there’s already a “leak” of some Armor sets. i think it’s 5 new sets in total
Why is that? I’ll tell you: People see the pronouncement that “Necromancers are low dps in raids” and assume they are bad at everything. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! Granted, necromancer don’t do the most damage in the game, but we can MORE than hold our own in raids, fractals etc.
tbh this has been going on since the “speed run mentality” in dungeon pugs a few years back.
Back then everybody and his cats thought a bunch of randoms were a fully optimized speed clear group and handled it as such.
Pros:
- Raptor looks and handles nice
- Bounties are nice, the random factor keeps it interesting
- overall design
- stacking of unidentified gear
- enemies are so far good (they are at least moving)
- map size
Cons:
- not enough dye channels on the raptor (please at least 1 more)
- raptor gets sometimes stuck on stairs or ledges
- maybe a better visual indicator for bounties that are already activated
- no timer before the actual bounty boss spawns (feels bad to be seconds to late)
- drops without purpose (minor point since it’s just a demo)

The Bounties have changing abilities. There seems to be a pool of possible abilities a bounty can have and they get chosen randomly. This can sometimes make a fight easier but also quite hard. A phase shifted Choya is a bit like " fuuuuuuuu", since that guy is also rolling around like crazy.
Feels like Diablo 3 or Path of Exile.
Fighting a “Hammered” Choya as necro makes me feel like i’m playing PvP.
Not knowing the mechanics of the new fractal i started some scale 25 runs to get the hang of it.
Some good and some bad, but there was always something new to understand and learn (at least for me).
What really annoyed in these 2 days of many failed tries were these lvl100 elitists complaining about people not knowing the mechanics and not willing to drop some information and insta leaving after 2 or 3 failed attempts.
Why joining lowest scale fractal with this kind of attitude?
With this experience it’s hard to judge the fractal itself.
To me the last boss seems to be filled with too many mechanics. I don’t wanna know how things go once instabilities come into play.
If you follow all of the steps, you will 100% get the Legendary weapon. I recommend looking it up on the Wiki for details, and also reading some guides so you can try to do things as economically as possible. Don’t follow any guide blindly tho as it may be old information. But pay attention to hints and tips that may help.

How many APs do these “Botters” have? Better explanation is that these are alt accounts from other servers taking up map space….
Sad but true, I have heard people say that they do this. Weirdos but some people will do anything to gain advantage or be a pain in the kitten
- Your Backpack is only lvl 78, so it can’t hold lvl 80 upgrades
- Berserker stats make you a pure class cannon. Along with being an ele surviving can be harder than other classes exspecially as a newerplayer
- Legendary weapons require a lot of effort and/or money. Having such a weapon is mostly for the skin or the fact to change stats whenever you want to.
- In WvW roamers use well tuned gear and skills builds. They also know how to play their class and counter play some if not all other classes.
edit:
- Legendary Weapons and gear of ascended lvl have the highest base stats. Having exotic at your state of play is totally fine.
- Ascended gear should be seen as a long time goal to work towards to, if you want to push higher stages of fractals or min maxing.
Try this:
Floating Shoulders
No ears
Shoulders and Helmet are one skin
thin sleeves cover big Gloves
Hair dissapears because of some strings
Strings seem to go trhough the skull

At some point they should also fix the glitches and bugs that are already in the game since the beginning and decrease/limit the amount of choices players have.
