I really like having the major cooldowns on display for viewers, since they can’t see what’s going on everywhere at least they’ll be able to judge how an off-camera fight is going based on the cooldowns displayed.

I definitely think that the spectator aspect of pvp is the next area that Anet should work on, and something like this would be a great start. When did you say your first day at Anet was again, Countless?

Great idea; seems fairly simple to implement and would make a lot of people happy.

If nothing else this will make things interesting.

Agreed that merely reducing the shield block duration is not enough. The suggestions Fish listed would be enough to make bunker mesmers more competitive with other classes.

People complain about the mindless spamming in this meta, these suggestions would go a very long way in fixing that. At least the mesmer would have to communicate with another teammate to stand on point, outside of the precog well, to prevent losing the cap.

Bunker mesmers would still have great mobility with portal, as well as fantastic utility, especially in the res department.

Is this pugquest being streamed or recorded? I’d love to see how the elite specializations fare in an actual tournament play, even if it is free agent teams. Like for instance, if tempest has a shot of being competitive with fire D/D ele and whatnot.

They usually stream them. The last one I remember was streamed by Backpack.

A big thank you to everyone that works to put tournaments like this one together. Hopefully some more teams can form through these kind of community tournaments.

I’m Stalagta from Team Risk / Cunning Stunts, and as the title states, we’re looking for an exceptionally talented shatter mesmer that excels in team fighting and are able to effectively utilize their portal. We’re looking to build a premier NA team, so dedication and a passion for the game are a must.

Our practice times are: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 4pm PST to roughly 7 or 8, and of course Sundays, for the ESLs.

We’re a friendly bunch with a great team dynamic and wish to keep it that way, so salt lords need not apply.

After watching this shoutbow guide from my teammate Backpack I thought it could help a lot of new players out. I think even some vets might discover something they might not have known, so I decided to post it.

I can only speculate that Helseth has tried variations of Mesmer condi and it just doesn’t hold up to power shatter in top tier play. He doesn’t need to come out and list out anything to refute why condi is behind power shatter only because he’s been successful at tournament play. Then again, when someone is that arrogant, don’t expect much.

But really, no one really gives a crap about bottom tier play because you can roll out there with random traits and still kill terrible players.

When discussing build viability in pvp, it really only matters on top tier and tournament games because that is where people know where their dodge button is.

When he turns his stream/persona off, he is pleasant to talk to. I don’t know why people are still unable to differentiate between The Lord Helseth and this dude that is a decent mesmer. ANYTHING he says on Twitch/YouTube will prob be trenchant. Also, of course anyone in a guild competing for money is going to try out all the builds. They’re going to use what wins.

Also, yes. Run whatever build you want in low tier/hot join/practice play. No matter what you run, if you have a basic grasp of how to fight/play this game, you’ll get called OP, god mode, etc. no matter the build (incl. standard power shatter).

Would just like to echo what Kaaly is saying here. Braiin is the mesmer from my team and he used a slightly different variation of the traditional shatter mesmer build, which he has a very firm grasp with. It focuses heavily on team fighting, dishing out tons of damage and having decent survivability. It seems like too many people get sucked into referring to 1v1s when assessing a classes’ overall balance, when in reality spvp is a team game (especially now that the top tier NA meta has shifted back into forcing team fights.)

This has never been an issue, specially if you’re playing hammer Guard.

you can still hit them with banish, and you will know exactly were they land so long as you pay attention to where you’re pointing it.

One of the issues is executing a judges intervention or lightning flash stomp that was started before the refuge was cast. Bottom line is this should be looked into.

Something must be done, like mini game distractions! #Savethegolems

Its actually SPCA’s stuff that inspired me to do this as you can see! I find it a lot less interesting as a comp, but it certainly seems to be very effective. Will bear it in mind

Hey that’s great to hear! And you’re absolutely right, it is less interesting. The original SPCA comp was guard, engi, thief, mes, ele. Everyone usually plays whatever they want, which is fun, because we get to test the strengths of lots of different comps. It does get interesting sometimes, especially when Mugi and Yam both run their glass longbow rangers. xD For fighting against skilled opponents, however, a boon strip shatter Mesmer is a must (plus extremely fun to play).

I’m the leader of AciD and I want to give some respect where it’s due.

Later fought an 2 [Holy] and 2 [SPCA] in a set of 4v4’s. We learned a lot from that. We tried with our roaming specs and you were too CC and tank for us to do any real damage to. Kudos! We tried mixing it up a bit and things got better, but you guys still gave us a 4v4 lesson (I was the mesmer who lived at the end of it). I’m thankful for it and hope to revisit this with you guys sometime soon. Again, much respect from me.
