Anyways I hope you guys enjoy what I’ve done with my characters and for those that took the time to read, I hope you enjoyed my little stories etc (although, they aren’t really that little haha. Though consider yourselves lucky as I could tell you more about each of the sets I’ve listed in this thread. For example I made my SSGSS & Super Saiyan God slightly taller & slimmer than the Base form, and Super Saiyan form to make them as accurate as possible to the source. Sadly however it won’t be easy to notice the height difference, but you can distinctly tell they are slimmer. There are lots of little things I did to each character and set I’ve made, but I have no intention of posting all these little thing’s I did as you would then be bombarded with significantly larger walls of text and I’ve spent enough time as is on these posts for the time being; maybe some other time).
Here are a few animated gif images of my SSGSS and the immortal sisters, due to their being some visual effects/aura’s on these characters that the screenshots just won’t do justice for.

DxD Set: This set currently consists of 2 Elementalists, 2 Mesmers, 1 Necromancer, 1 Revenant, 2 Warriors and 2 Guardians. This is so far my biggest set of characters and I’ll explain a bit about why I’ve done this one the way I have.
I’ll be honest about this one, after I made my Saiyan set, I didn’t have any intention of making more characters for a while, as my Saiyan set was the largest set of characters I’d made to date. But then my roommate gave me this idea since he knew that I love High School DxD soooo much! (quite possibly an understatement since it is currently my number one favourite anime! I’m also a little surprised I didn’t think to create this set of characters myself; but then maybe my subconscious knew that if I thought of making this set, the chances were extremely high that I’d probably do something pretty crazy with it, so it locked it away never to see the light of day. Regardless though I’ve made this set now and I do feel like I did something a little crazy with it haha) So I said outright, I’m only going to make this one, if I can find a suitable top that is similar to the uniform in DxD, so that I can make my own version of Rias Gremory.
After which I jumped onto GW2 and began going through the wardrobe to see if there was a suitable top. As I was going through the wardrobe, it wasn’t long until I found the top, and as soon as I saw it I burst out laughing as I could not believe how similar the top was (also began cursing at my roommate jokingly, for giving me this idea, because it was official that I was going to make this set now). After the laughter and cursing I then went back and continued going through the wardrobe to ensure that there wasn’t a better top (there wasn’t). Now again like my other character sets, this one was going to be a single character and so I made my own version of Rias Gremory. But then I started thinking to myself “hang on a minute you’ve just made a set of Saiyans going through as many transformations as possible, making for a grand total of 4 characters that belong to that set. On top of this, you have an angel set which consists of 2 characters and then the immortal set which has 3 characters. Since character sets are becoming a thing you’re going to need to step up your game, and make 1 character set to rule them all as the ultimate character set!” So this began to influence my decision and pushed me towards making a set of characters to belong to my High School DxD set.
Now the next phase was to decide how I was going to do this. Originally I wanted to make as many characters as possible from the anime series, but alas it was not meant to be (at least at this point in time); I say this as I was unable to find satisfactory skins to make a high school uniform for a male character, for my versions of Issei Hyodo and Kiba Yuuto. On top of this I couldn’t find suitable skins for some of the other male characters that I wanted to make (Sirzechs, just to name 1 of the other male characters. I was unable create them due to there not being similar enough skins to work with). This ended up cutting down how many characters I could make for this set quite significantly. So I ended up making five characters which consisted of the five light professions, and they were to be my own versions of Asia Argento, Akeno Himejima, Koneko Toujou, Xenovia Quarta and of course Rias Gremory in their high school uniforms (now I know what you’re thinking, I’ve said above that ten characters belong to this set, you’ll just need a bit more patience and all will be explained). To ensure they all felt a bit special and unique from 1 another, I made sure to give them unique skins for their heads, boots, gloves and weapon skins (I tried to pick skins which I felt best matched their personality, or were similar to something they had worn/ used in the anime series, while I was picking out the unique skins for each of them).
Of course because I really wanted to do more with my DxD set, I pondered what I could do for it as I wasn’t completely satisfied with it, since I wasn’t able to make all the characters I wanted. In the end the decision was made to also create a heavy profession variation of each of these 5 characters. The reasoning behind this was, that as these characters in the anime series are a part of a 3 way war between angels, fallen angels & devils, I felt it only befitting that they had some proper combat attire if you will. Another reason; I wanted to have a bit of fun with them and give them a completely unique look from one another, instead of the same 3 skins used to create their high school uniform. There may be some other reasons which influenced my decision on top of this (those awesome Mistward skins!), however those 2 are the main reasons and only real ones which I need to state.
Now you are probably wondering how was it that I picked each profession for these characters. Well it wasn’t easy and wasn’t exactly ideal for some of them.
So we’ll start with my version of Rias; I picked Necromancer for her light and Revenant for her heavy. I felt the Necromancer was best for her as she is a pure blooded devil, and I chose the Revenant to be her heavy form as I just felt the Revenants kit fit the role of the King chess piece best, while also being a more magically inspired heavy class (Revenants can pump out some serious damage, and Warriors aren’t a very magical class since they are the weapon masters of the game. So if I were to make her a Warrior it just wouldn’t have worked. I could have chosen Guardian, but I felt that was better for two of the other characters).
For Akeno I chose the Elementalist and Guardian. I felt the Elementalist best fit her due to her magical capabilities and the fact that she does use lightning magic. The reason which lead me to make her as a Guardian, is due to her magical capabilities, her Angel heritage, and finally as she is the Queen chess piece she is a perfect combination of the other chess pieces (She has good defence, good overall damage etc. just like a Guardian). I also felt that the Guardian was a more magically inspired class like the Revenant so it was perfect for the Queen chess piece.
Asia, like Akeno was made into an Elementalist and Guardian. The main reason for this was because the Elementalist and Guardian both make for pretty decent healers which I felt was perfect for the Bishop chess piece (seeing as she does possess the sacred gear twilight healing).
Koneko was made into a Mesmer and Warrior. I chose to make her a Mesmer due to her being a Nekomata before a Devil, and when looking into what her sister is capable of, I felt this was the best profession for her (Koneko’s sister is capable of creating mirage copies of herself to throw her opponents off). As for the reason I chose for her to be a Warrior; I felt the Warrior best fit the role of a tank, which was perfect for the Rook chess piece, as they posses superhuman strength and have high defence to absorb large amounts of damage.
Finally we move onto Xenovia. I made her into a Mesmer and Warrior like Koneko. Unfortunately the Mesmer wasn’t exactly the most ideal choice for her as a Knight in service of the house of Gremory, but it was the best choice since they are the only light class that can use swords. As Xenovia takes on the characteristics of the Knight chess piece, I felt the Warrior was best for her, as Knight’s aren’t as magically capable as a Bishop, Queen or King chess piece and they rely on speed and mobility to win the fights.
Finally to wrap this section up on my DxD set, as this is the largest set I’ve made to date I don’t plan on making another set as large. It’s highly likely that I won’t be making any more character sets, as I already have a few sets as it is, and not all of them have been shown here. I am also pretty pleased with how this set has turned out overall (I don’t really think there is any way I can top this one in terms of size and quality, so it’s very likely that I will just make single characters from here on out. Just don’t quote me on it though, as I could always have a change of heart haha). I haven’t taken screenshots of my DxD characters in their heavy armour, however if you guys really really really want to see them, then post to this thread and if enough people request it, I will go in again and take these screenshots to upload to here (If enough request the heavy versions, I will also update shots of my characters that have had changes made to them since these shots were taken, as I changed some of the skins, or made other changes to visuals on a some of the characters).

Saiyan Set: The Saiyan set currently consists of 1 Guardian, 1 Warrior and 2 Revenants. My original plan was just to make my own Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, to pay homage to 1 of my all time favourite animes, since they decided to reboot Dragon Ball with a new series and new transformations (it’s not my number 1 favourite, but it’s up there. This is the big one which got me into anime and I’m sure many others as well, so I felt it only befitting to do something to commemorate this occasion). The decision was made on what profession my SSGSS would be, and at the time he was to be a Warrior. There are a couple reasons I can remember which at the time pushed me towards making him a Warrior; the first being the Revenant had not been released yet and I wanted mainly to reserve the name at the very least; second some of the visual effects on skills for the Revenant really ground my gears and I felt did not mesh well with the aura’s (Impossible Odd’s just to name 1 of them. This was the main skill for me, which made it difficult to choose the Revenant to be my SSGSS. I say this because it provided a green aura and I felt that this did not mix with the other aura’s etc. that an SSGSS would have).
Ultimately though this did not stick, as time went on and I began to play around with my SSGSS Warrior I was finding issues with it. These issues included the following; the Warriors kit I felt did not best match an SSGSS, the damage on the sword wasn’t satisfactory and as such was more or less just going to be used in a utility weapon setup, instead of being a part of the main weapon set (I had decided from the get go that my SSGSS would be getting the legendary sword Bolt for the electrical aura, and since this was meant to be the main weapon, a lack of damage was quite serious to me). While this next reason wasn’t really an issue with my SSGSS Warrior, it was however the last deciding factor in making a set of Saiyans, as it helped me to overcame the final hurdle. I mentioned above that the visual effects for the Revenant were an issue with regards to making an SSGSS Revenant, but as I thought about it for a bit, I realised that a lot of the characters in Dragon Ball had unique attacks which for the most part had unique visuals. When I came to this conclusion I was able to let go of my issue with the visual effects and move on to creating my Saiyan Set.
I ended up making a set of Saiyans going through all the possible transformations that I was able to make. So I made a regular Saiyan (base form) as a Guardian, I felt this was the best choice as I picture Guardians as being level headed and tactical with their fights, perfect for a base form. I ended up converting my SSGSS Warrior into a Super Saiyan and I felt this was the best choice, as Super Saiyans tend to be more aggressive and angry, which I felt was perfect for a Warrior who just wants to get up close and personal to slap you silly. Finally I made My Super Saiyan God and my SSGSS both into Revenants; I felt this was best for these 2 as the kit for the Revenant best reflected a Super Saiyan God with skills like, Impossible Odds, Phase Travel and Frigid Blitz (also having a staff similar to Goku’s Power Pole helped to decide on this as well, since Revenants use the staff as a melee weapon). I also felt the Revenant was the best fit since it was a bit more of a spiritual/ godlike class in a sense due to the profession channelling the power of the mists. (Should I ever be granted the possibility to make a Super Saiyan 2 due to the introduction of an anime inspired hairstyle, he will also be made into a Warrior. Those that fall under the category of Base form will all be Guardians; all those that fall into the Super Saiyan Category will be Warriors; all those that fall under the Super Saiyan God Category will be Revenants).

Immortal Set: This set consists of 3 characters; 1 Warrior, 1 Guardian and of course last but not least 1 Revenant. The immortal sisters as I like to refer to them as, originally started off with just the Warrior, and at the time there wasn’t any intention of making others to go with her. The main reason I made her was because within 1 year of GW2 being released, I saw this Norn female Warrior with full Tier 3 Cultural and the legendary Twilight. As soon as I saw all this I fell in love and had to make my own. About a year later after creating her however, I concocted the idea of making 2 others 2 go with her all because there were now 3 different glowing masks. The original plan was to make a heavy, a medium and a light profession (it was likely going to be something like Warrior, Ranger and probably an Elementalist as the final one), get tier 3 Cultural for all 3 and use the 3 different glowing masks (Green, Crimson and Glint’s Gaze), while giving all 3 of them a matching dye scheme, a unique weapon set, and each a different back item to go with the chosen glowing mask.
In the end I never did make an Elementalist Norn, as I didn’t like any of the light cultural armour. So I scrapped the idea of making 1 from each of the different armour classes. However I still had my mind set on making 3 different Norns based on the 3 different glowing masks. So in the end I decided to make all 3 of them heavies (which I wasn’t completely satisfied with, but it was better than the alternative in my opinion); this was of course well before I was even aware that there was going to be another heavy introduced. But the way I figured it, if they ever did add in another profession, it was likely going to be another heavy and when that day came (which it has) I would finally finish off this set.

A little about each set
All the following character sets I made originally started off with a single character. However, at later dates I had the idea to expand on them and ended up making a set of characters to go with them.
Angel Set: My angel set currently consists of 2 characters; 1 Guardian and 1 Mesmer, and at this point in time I have no intention of further expanding it. This set originally started off with one character which was my Guardian, and she was the first to ascend to heaven and become a Guardian Angel (although both characters were made within the first month of GW2 being released they actually sat there for a while. Interestingly my Mesmer actually hit level 80 before my Guardian, though there is a reason for that; I already had a Guardian at level 80 and didn’t want to level up another until I had gotten at least 1 of each profession to level 80). If I recall correctly (been a while since I changed her into an angel), the reason I made her into an Angel was because I found a good build that I wanted to use on another Guardian. I saw her sitting on my account in her unfinished state, with a different name and thought “sweet we can do this! We’ll use this build on her and fix her up with a new name and look since she’s currently not up to my standards”. The other reason I chose to make her an Angel; I thought a Guardian would be perfect to make into an Angel, as they best fit the bill for a valiant protector of heaven. At the time of completion, of all the characters I had made before my Guardian Angel, she was the one that I was most pleased with as I felt she really looked the part (especially when I was able to trade out the Light of Dwayna back item for the Black Feather Wing’s). Since I made her into an angel I’ve really only changed 2 thing’s on her, the Back item and the gloves.
As time has gone by I also gradually made changes to my Mesmer and she was eventually included in the angel set unintentionally (to be honest I didn’t intentionally make her into an angel, it all just kind of happened as I made changes. She officially became an angel when I obtained those white feather wing’s. I wasn’t 100% certain who would use the wing’s when I purchased them, but as I went through my account I saw her and thought this would work nicely with her, since she’s got a pure celestial dye scheme. That includes the eyes and hair as well). While my Mesmer unintentionally became a part of my angel set, this did not change the fact that I felt she was also the best candidate to be an Angel of death, what with all those illusions Mesmer’s can create and being able to stealth. I’ve changed her dye scheme, her back item and her gloves (I changed the gloves to further break up her look a little more so there wasn’t 5 skins from the 1 set, and as she is an angel, she is considered to be a godlike being). I also made minor alterations to her appearance with makeover kits (these changes included a different hairstyle, and a different hair & eye colour along with other alterations using the sliders). Her dye scheme wasn’t always pure celestial, however as I made changes to her I felt she was 1 of the few, if not only characters within my account, that I could get away with a single dye scheme (currently she is also the only character that uses a single dye scheme). Her original back item was the Wind Catcher, which of course was replaced with the white wing’s.

My Rules
Now we move onto the rules I’ve set myself for creating characters, and they will be in no particular order.
1. All characters must be named Kaz even if they are a cosplay character (this wasn’t always the case as some of my characters had other names to pay homage to some of my old characters from the original Guild Wars. However I decided to change this so that I had a more standard naming scheme.)
(There are 3 main reasons my cosplay characters have also adopted the standard naming scheme. The first is due to the fact that I came to the realization that it would be quite difficult to make characters that look exactly the same, or close enough to the character they are based off, with some of the cosplay characters I’ve tried to make; so I decided that I would put my own spin on my cosplay characters. As such this has allowed for a bit more creativity with these cosplay characters, and also allowed for me to play around with their looks a little more to make them feel a bit more special. The second reason for the standard naming system with my cosplay characters, is due to the fact that these characters, although they are technically from other universes, the versions I have created live within the Guild Wars 2 universe instead. And the final reason for my standard naming scheme, is because I want to leave my stamp on these characters haha, the “Kaz Seal of Approval” thumbs up. Please note that cosplay characters are relatively new for me as well)
2. All characters must have a title of some sort or a last name e.g. Kaz The Avenger
3. All characters must reach level 80 at some point and have a functioning build before I will officially classify them as complete (a few characters have made it to this point, however this was before HoT came out. When the time is right I will begin reworking those that are no longer classified as complete, which had been deemed complete before HoT was released)
4. All characters need to have a backstory to match the character and their personality (personality is determined by the name I choose generally, the profession, and the theme of the character). Generally the backstory of a character is made when I first make the character, where I select the best choices to suit that character. These are generally used as a guide to the characters actual backstory, as the choices I make do not fully reflect the backstory that I envisage for them (I do want to do something with this and I will be in the near future).
5. All characters professions need to best match the name, theme and backstory of the character I want to make, and this tends to be one of the main starting points when I create my characters (this is not to say that the other rules don’t influence or change my starting point when I want to create a character, and have an idea for said character).
6. All characters must have a unique theme unless they belong to a set of characters (what defines a unique theme is the overall choices I’ve made for these characters with the skins, dyes etc. This means I can reuse skins as long as they are being mixed in a different combination with other different skins to create a unique look. Hairstyles and faces don’t really fall into this rule, as there are really only a few that I like from each race. However cosplay characters that belong to a set of some sort will generally have the extra effort put in to make each of them look unique, and as such I will generally try to use different faces and hairstyles for these characters if it is required).
(characters that belong to sets can use the same theme and this is the only exception to this rule)
7. Chaos Gloves can only be used on characters that are portraying godlike beings, if the gloves work with the character I am making (this is a relatively new rule I set myself when the Chaos Gloves hit the gem store).
(I define being’s such as Angels, Devils, Immortals and other beings of a higher ascension than a mere mortal as being godlike. While other’s may not agree with my definition of godlike in this instance, this is just what I’ve decided on as the limitations/ rules for using Chaos Gloves, to cut down the number of characters using them. In reality I don’t actually classify one who’s just immortal as being godlike)

Introduction
Now you are probably going to think I am a bit crazy/ insane, regardless though this has become a bit of a hobby of mine within GW2. For those that are interested I have provided a bit of a story for the characters I am showing off, a bit of a story on where this all began and the rules I’ve set myself for creating characters (there is a quite bit of reading for those that are interested).
Now for my first little story; it’s been a number of years since I started playing GW2. I haven’t always been just playing GW2 as I do need a break every now and again for varied periods of time, for various reasons which I won’t go into.
In this time creating characters within GW2 has become a bit of a hobby of mine (although it may actually be something more than that haha). Starting out it was pretty basic and I just wanted to look like the most kitten person with the characters I had made (Within the first 1-3 months I had over 10 characters made, but most had nothing done with them, as at that point I was in the process of levelling them up before I even thought about gearing them out with their awesome equipment).
Eventually my characters started to hit the level cap of 80 and so began my hobby of making characters. I soon discovered cultural armour and fell in love with a lot of the cultural sets after obtaining my first level 80. Tier 3 cultural armour looked exceptional most of the time and because it was made for each race it generally looked better (that’s just my opinion). At the time tier 3 cultural armour was also a bit of a rarity and as such this provided me with a bit more incentive to obtain some sweet cultural armour over other sets.
As time went on however cultural armour began to lose its prestige and not only that but I was finding myself not completely satisfied with all my characters (this was completely unrelated to the fact that cultural armour was losing its prestige, it was more or less a case of, I felt like I could do better and do more with the characters I made). Sure they all looked good, sure the likely hood of someone else having the exact same dye and weapon scheme as me was quite slim, but it didn’t change the fact that there were beginning to be plenty of other players with characters that had the same armour as myself, and for me this was a big thing, as I didn’t like looking like everyone else (been there and done that), I wanted to feel unique, I wanted my characters to be distinguished.
Over time I began to start seeing some really nice mix and match characters in the game from other players and of course even some really cool cosplay characters. At this time however I wasn’t too adventurous with mix and match characters. For the most part some of the characters I made would have nearly whole sets of armour, with 1 or 2 pieces of a different set that I liked, and thought complemented the look I was trying to create.
Then we got the wardrobe to store our skins in; it was at this point that my hobby truly began to take off and it has lead me to here(the wardrobe has made it so much easier to kit out my characters). I now have over 25 characters with over 20 of them at level 80 (not going to say the exact numbers, as that’s for me to know and you guys to find out another time haha).
As you can guess my hobby within GW2 has evolved a bit in this time, such as the rules I set myself for creating characters, my standards in creating these characters, and the lengths I will go to when obtaining skins for them. Of course in saying that I don’t just make these characters for the sake of making characters, it’s more or less only when I have an idea or am completely infatuated by a skin or set of skins. But generally with each character I make I try to do something different and up my standards a bit to make higher quality characters each time I set out to create a new one.

So here’s something a little fun for everyone to get in on.
If there was anything you wanted for Christmas that you could wish for, what would it be?
I’ll start the ball rolling, I wish for a new spiky hairstyle that isn’t in the Self-Style Hair Kit, or Total Makeover Kit currently, and the legendary Bolt.
Here’s a picture to explain why I want them haha.
Bolt will be mine soon enough however!
Hi there,
I’ve been trying to find an answer to this question but haven’t had much luck finding one.
So first question is in the subject title, but I’ll repeat it.
Question 1: What is the reason for the max number of characters in a name being restricted to 19 and why?
Question 2: Is there any plan in the future to increase the number of characters a name can have? If so, what would the new maximum number of characters be and when could we expect this to happen?
If anyone could help or has any information please respond as I’d be grateful.
Reason I am asking these questions, I decided to make a new character, give them a wicked theme, but the name that I wanted, was 1 character over the limit, so I ultimately decided to remove 1 of the spaces in the name, which combined 2 of the words which made up the title in this characters name (when I name a character they tend to have a name and a unique title of some sort to match the theme).
This also brings me to making a suggestion on top of these questions, if there is no intention of increasing the number of characters a name can have. I was curious if anyone in the past ever suggested (if it’s possible), making it so that only letters counted towards the total number of characters a name had, therefore making spaces not contribute to this number. Of course if this was to be implemented, I would recommend putting in a cap on how many spaces a name could have to avoid players abusing this.
So title sums up most of what this thread is about, however I am really curious as to whether these skins will be returning at some point? if so, how will they return? and how will we be able to obtain them?
I am mostly curious as lately, I’ve been trying to create theme’s for some of my characters and have been going through the wardrobe to see what skins I could use, which I don’t have and I’ve come across some of these PvP skins and just gone Wow! this skin is perfect for my theme. So then gone to find out how to obtain it and suddenly find out that it’s discontinued (since I wasn’t a huge PvP person back then, I’ve now got no means to obtain these skins and had I known that at a later date I would’ve used these skins, I would have put in the work to obtain them back when I could. But as can be guessed I didn’t really know about them until recently). This to me is quite unsatisfactory in the scheme of thing’s, especially when taking into account that new players don’t have access to these skins.
So I just entered WvW with my Mesmer, I note that there was recently a patch. While in combat, I used to be able to lay down a veil and walk through it twice to gain stealth for a total of 6 seconds (PU mesmer). Now it seems to be that you cannot do that, as you end up automatically with the revealed debuff for a couple of seconds, even though damage may not have been dealt to obtain the revealed debuff. Now the patch notes as far as I can tell, do not state that this change has been implemented, so I was wondering if this was intentional? If so it is kind of lame and I will now have to re-evaluate my strategy, it is also a bit uncool to not even make mention of this within the patch notes. So I am a little bit annoyed at this lack of communication on this particular matter. Especially when taking into account that Stealth is kind of what my kit revolves around.
Edit: Just asked around in my guild and been advised that this is apparently a bug. Should also mention I was mostly going to be annoyed by the lack of communication, if this was an intentional change to stealth and how it functioned.

Hi there,
In response to your idea I must start off by saying this. I am a player who’s had the luxury of playing the first Guild Wars, so I am talking from experience. Now I would rather keep the level 80 cap for Guild Wars 2, as opposed to decreasing it to level 20. The main reason why is because once you hit the max level in the original, there was nothing really to do after that, at least level wise. I’ve played most of the content in the original and it was good for what it is, but it essentially offered nothing for those players that liked grinding levels, hence they introduced a higher level cap in Guild Wars 2. Now another reason I also say this, with Guild Wars because the level cap is so low, you can very easily, without even pushing yourself real hard, obtain the max level within 1 day. If you go all out crazy though and push hard, you can get it within a few hours and I do mean literally a few hours. If you were to reduce the level cap in Guild Wars 2, it would essentially become another Guild Wars when it comes to leveling and I’d be pretty certain that they would lose a portion of their player base because of this (I would likely play far less if the cap was reduced). I will admit it does get a bit tedious after you’ve leveled your 4th character (I believe I am on to leveling my 11th character right now, with 10 level 80s at present. Also got to note that I don’t level hard out either, I level characters when I feel like it and at my own pace, so if I really wanted to level hard out, I would likely have somewhere in the vicinity of 15-20 level 80s), but I would rather have the level cap at 80, as this does provide me with something to do when I am in the mood for leveling up one of my characters. Of course for those that don’t like grinding levels in Guild Wars 2, there are some ways around this. One example is crafting. If you level all of your crafts to 400 you can obtain most of your levels from that and you can level them all to 400 within a day if you really try (1 hr to level each craft to 400 is pretty easy to do these days). Of course before they increased the crafting level cap to 500 on the majority of crafts, it was possible to level to 80 alone simply by maxing all of the crafts to 400, so that would’ve been a total of 8hrs spent to reach level 80.
I would like to suggest adding more armour dyes which perfectly match hair colours for all materials. While there most likely are close dyes for most colours, I’m sure there are also hair colours which have no armour equivalents – especially among the new ones. Those colours could be named, say, something along “Precise [Hair Colour] Dye” and put into a Gemstore package.
My personal gripe is red for the new Flame hair colour; I’ve tried all (?) red and some orange dyes and still couldn’t find anything that matched the Flame hair and Dark Asuran Weapons type of red, which is saturated, bright and orangeish instead of magenta.
If you also know a hair color which doesn’t have a perfect match – add it here along with the race and armour material.
I noticed that you were having problems getting a matching dye for your armor. Firstly I must say this, different hair styles, on different race’s, and different armor sets tend to yield different results from each dye. While you may get the color you desire on one set using a certain dye, it may not yield the same result on another set. This also applies to the hair style as well. I found that different hair styles on different races yielded a slightly different color. Anyways for me I did find a matching color for the the Flame Hair color. The dye I used on my armor Was Flame Dye. Here’s a picture anyways.
Here is my Guardian, Archangel Kaz. The only thing that I would replace, is the back item, but they would need to be replaced with a really nice set of feathered wing’s (not like those hideous holographic wings which constantly move. Can’t stand the constant flapping which they do). General theme though as you can guess was to make her as angelic and ferocious as possible. She is an angel not to be trifled with.
Alright so for whatever reason it seems that since the mega servers have been released, that there is a lot of skill delay and lag. No matter where I go, there is so much rubber banding, skill delay etc. Sometimes I find I am trying to jump somewhere, like down a cliff into the water, I’ll end up in the water and then a second or so later I am back up the cliff where I started. Skill delays, well I don’t think I have to say much about that it can be anywhere from 1 second +. It seems to be ever since the mega servers though that this has all started occurring and it doesn’t matter whether I’m in a main city, or in PvE or WvW, I still get all these problems where ever I go.
So when’s it going to get fixed? Because I know I am not the only one having these issues and I’m a bit frustrated by it.
I myself would very much like to re-roll my ascended armor. It was not too long a go that I’d finished setting it up but have now found that to achieve the stats I desire, that I need to pretty much throw my armor into the bin and create a new set entirely, on top of replacing 3 of my trinkets. So the amount of time that’s going to take is many months based on how I play.
Yes I did expect that I was going to need to replace some equipment with the introduction of this patch, but I didn’t think it was going to be a case of me having to replace all of my armor and 3 of my trinkets (which is about half of my gear down the drain). I don’t have a problem with the whole trinkets needing to be replaced, but the armor side of thing’s I do. Had I known the changes were going to be so drastic, I’d have decided against investing into my ascended armor and just waited till the patch was done.
I was not running a full Berserker set either, My set was mostly designed for solo roaming, capping camps solo and being a front line zerger whenever I did join the zerg.
So it would be nice to you know, be able to change the stats this one time to suit the current gear setup I’ve created.
Now why I feel this is a good idea, well for a start players that don’t spec too heavily into critical based gear, are now able to achieve the desired stats without needing to invest heavily into critical based gear, of course based on the diminished returns, they would still require a heavier investment into critical damage based gear, as compared to how much they would need to invest prior to the 15th of April patch, but this investment would not nearly be as much as some one who wants a higher critical damage. So effectively the investment into critical damage would require more Ferocity for less Critical damage as the need for more critical damage increases.
Anyways I don’t know if I’ve explained my idea the best, or whether it is the best idea ever, however I felt that this would be a nice way to reward players who do take on a more diversified approach, to crafting builds and like to round the builds out with a bit of everything.
Anyways, that’s me done now, so I will leave the rest to everyone else. I’d like to see what others think and what not. This is simply based on the changes to Critical Damage and have nothing to do with Celestial Equipment, which is a whole different topic in general for me.
Kaz
Hi everyone,
(Warning this is a big read)
With the changes made to critical damage I thought that I would give my input on the changes. This is by no means a rant, but simply here to discuss and see what others think and share my thought’s on what’s good, bad about it and also give constructive feedback and so forth.
So anyway, the idea behind changing the system for it and the reason’s why this change was implemented, I feel that these were more than valid and reasonable. They wanted the player base to move away from this whole Zerker meta and have a more diversified set of builds.
But for me, that’s about where it all end’s as being positive. The reasons were sound, but I feel the implementation could have been a bit better. Of course in saying this I came up with an idea on what could’ve been a better way of implementing the Ferocity stat to increase critical damage (this idea is based solely on my opinion so whether it is or not, is up for discussion and I’ll of course let you guys decide). I will go on to this a bit later, but will explain why I feel this way first.
Now “why do I feel the implementation could do with a bit of work”. The simple reason is based on the way I play the game. I was never one of those players that followed this whole “Zerker is best!” meta. My builds for most of my characters revolved around Balance. So to achieve balance, this meant looking at the character, looking at what it need’s and then combining different pieces from different sets into one until the desired stats were achieved. As such all of my characters had this nice balance of Defense combined with a nicely rounded Offense. Most of the time to achieve this nicely rounded Offense, it meant that I needed to invest to a degree into critical damage.
Now with the changes to the critical damage stat and the introduction of Ferocity, I felt that the full DPS Zerker builds felt the hurt by the changes a bit less, than by a player who only invested in critical based stats to achieve this well rounded, balanced build. These players such as myself I feel have been hit harder, simply because now to achieve these well rounded stats, requires a much more substantial investment into the ferocity stat, therefore meaning we need to give up a lot to achieve the desired stats, or we either live with the losses.
Now before the patch went through, my Main being a warrior sat on a lovely 50% bonus critical damage, placing them at 200% critical damage. After the patch went through I had found I lost around 15% critical damage. Now that may not seem like much to others, but to put it into perspective, I’ve now had to swap out all of my armor and 3 trinkets (which were all Ascended items, which I’d only just recently finished off) so that works out to being about half of my gear being wasted and needing to be removed from the setup. Now I knew that these changes would mean I would need to swap parts out for new gear to achieve the stats I desired, however I was not expecting it to be to this degree, where I needed to pretty much select all new equipment for half of gear. I thought it might be something like 2-5 pieces of gear (instead it works out to being a total of 9).
As such I felt this was a little excessive and thought up my own idea which would promote players to have diversified builds, rather than investing heavily into Critical Damage/ Ferocity.
Now my idea is simple, however I do suspect that it would require a fair bit of work on the developers part. The idea is to apply coding to the Ferocity stat, and the Ferocity stat ONLY, whereby as you invest more heavily into Ferocity, you receive diminishing returns at certain thresholds. So as it increases the less it returns. Now this isn’t as bad as it sounds, as if it is set up correctly, you would end up with similar stats to a current full DPS Zerker. The reason I say similar is because I do feel that the reduction to critical Damage was a little much and would like to see it gain about 5% critical damage back. I feel that this is not a huge increase and is reasonably fair for those that invest heavily into Ferocity. Now to go into more detail on my idea so as to help others better understand it.
Now the diminishing returns players would receive on Critical Damage would not occur right away the first 25% bonus critical damage would be completely unaffected by diminishing returns, and the investment required to achieve this bonus 25% would be equal to that of a zerker build before 15th of April. Now after the first 25% bonus critical damage is achieved, the player would begin to receive diminished returns on ferocity. As certain thresholds are achieved the less they receive back, eventually leading it to achieving roughly identical critical damage as a current full DPS zerker build.
To clarify, I wasn’t inspired to ask because I was on the receiving end; I was actually the one tagging the garrison on an enemy’s borderland while watching Ripper Street. After a couple of hours of unrelenting tagging despite many deaths I started getting some whispers, and not particularly friendly ones. I barely started up again tonight when I got more whispers, and more threats of being reported. So I hoped to get some consensus as to the legitimacy of this particular activity.
It is a legitimate tactic and can be quite a game changer if it’s done correctly. It can cause distraction, prevent reinforcements and throw the enemy off the trail of your actual forces. Those that have threatened to report you have no grounds to report you for a start, and there is also no report feature for such a thing any way. All I can say is, those that are threatening you need to grow up, stop being so childish and play the game, because this is always going to be a legitimate tactic of WvW until something changes with how waypoints work in WvW.
I love how so many complain about being 1 hit by the warriors kill shot ability. The 1 weapon/ ability rarely if ever gets used in WvW due to it’s viability in general. Especially with such a squishy setup. It is strong, I will give you that, but as an avid warrior player, the only time if ever I’d use such a setup, is just for trolling, because being rally fodder in zerg warfare, just ain’t fun. But there are numerous abilities in WvW that can down a player in 1 hit and you know what I say. Good on them for running a full zerker build, that has made them squishy as hell, because the only thing these guys are going to be doing, is roaming, killing off single targets. They won’t be contributing in any other way to WvW, unless they find a few other people to run with. Then they might be taking some camps and maybe (key word here is maybe) some towers. They might be able to contribute in zerg play, if they play cautiously and very carefully. But for the most part, they will be rally fodder.
PS I do get downed by a few 1 hit classes here and there, but I don’t whine about it, because at the end of the day, All they’re there for, is killing other players, they aren’t there for much else really.
Hi there,
My name is Kaz and I have just come to realise this, as I wanted to create a poll to get feedback from the community, and see what the community thinks on subjects etc.
It became apparent however, that there is no feature that allows for polls to be setup to allow the community to vote on topics etc. so that every one, including Anet can have an idea of how the community feels about new content, current content, or old content etc. and allow for some of the important questions to be asked as well. This would also serve Anet well I feel, as it would allow them to have better communication with the player base.
To include polls, could help to better shape the game and community as a whole, and maybe also prevent backlash from the community were there to be disagreements.
Anyways, if this feature were to be implemented, you would need to set a limit of 1 vote per account to at least attempt to allow for best accuracy (not saying that this will provide the most accurate results, however that will be as good as it gets). Of course there would need to be numerous categories for these poll’s, to prevent more important 1s from missing out on votes etc.
But anyways on another note, this could just be a little bit of fun, as the community could create their own polls to see what the community think’s about aspects of the games etc.
Anyways this is just my suggestion.
Best regards,
Kaz
Now normally I am perfectly fine with Anets decisions within the progression of the game, as they generally don’t impact on me too greatly etc. But this time, they have gone too far. I was always under the impression, that the cultural armours were going to be unique and exclusive to each race. To introduce a version, of quite possibly one of the most popular t3 sets into the game, that can be worn by any race at half the price. Well I’m sorry but that is just cruel and pathetic (this show’s a complete lack on any creativity from the team in charge of armour design). I don’t care what their reasoning is, I want it gone. Cultural armour should have remained as exactly that, Cultural Armour which is Exclusive to each race (at least then we had some unique skins exclusive to each race). Not introduce a version of each set slowly into the game that is half the price and can be worn by any race. I can almost guarantee that they aren’t going to do this with every single t3 set of armour, as some sets I somehow doubt would look good on other races and would prove difficult to put on the human figure (t3 Charr armour).
Ok to start off, I am going to say I completely disagree with OP. Yes I am a player that does purchase in game gold, but I do this because A ) I am Lazy B ) I can just play the game C ) I like a lot of the more costly Cosmetics and D ) should I be short on gold at the time and want to make changes, I can no problems, but either way it all amounts to the fact that I am just purely lazy when it comes to earning gold. Yes I do earn in game gold, but for the most part I am lazy. The advantage gained by the rich, is marginal at best. Why do I say this. The simple answer is the difference between Ascended and Exotic is very small and at the end of the day, if you are an extremely skilled player, that marginal difference in stats will count for nothing. The likely hood is the skilled player will come out on top always. I did some basic maths and based on this, the increase in stats would be approximately 5-10% difference, with a full set of ascended, at the very most (notice I said full set, this means armour whenever it is introduced). Yeah sure that’s a difference, but sadly it’s not enough to make a huge difference and at the end of the day, obtaining a set of ascended trinkets, isn’t that difficult.
Now the rich, what do they gain. Nothing. I say this because firstly earning money in game is not hard, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You don’t need a large pool of money to buy a good looking set of armour and especially don’t need a large pool of money to afford good gear. The only time you may ever actually feel you need to spend money, is if you want transmutation stones and even then, you can earn in game gold to purchase the transmutation stones.
TL;DR. You obviously have not played this game long enough to determine that you don’t need to be rich to be competitive in any aspect of the game. Just to let you know, I’ve been playing this game from the very beginning and have met many players that have earned their gold without making any purchases.
Now I find every so often, that I like to challenge myself, or can’t rely on fellow guildies to come help me in my times of need, so in those cases I just end up soloing something deadly. I thought I would ask the community, what they have solo’d and this seemed like the best place to post it. Anyways, how this thread works.
There are 2 types of Solo, Official and Unofficial Solo. Unofficial Solo’s are where you’ve done significant damage and are in a good position to keep soloing, however a player/players show up and kill it with you. To earn the Unofficial Solo, you must have dealt more than 50% health and have been in a good position to keep going.
So anyways, onto what I’ve Solo’d.
Unofficial Solo:
- Champion Oakheart; Queensdale. Solo’d with Level 80 Guardian, Gear was all Exotic excluding back as this was Rare. I can’t exactly remember what kind I was using, as I solo’d Champion Oak within the first 6 months of GW launching.
Official Solo’s:
- Champion Frainn; Timberline Falls. Solo’d with Level 80 Warrior. All Exotic, excluding back item as this was Rare. Armor, Knight’s and Berserker Shoulder Armor with Superior Rune of Melandru. Trinkets, Emerald With Exquisite Ruby Orbs. Weapons, Berserker, Axe/Warhorn and Greatsword With Superior Sigils of Force, Purity and Accuracy. Traits 30, 0, 20, 0, 20
- Champion Risen Drake Broodmother; Strait’s of Devastation. Solo’d with Level 80 Warrior. All Exotic, excluding back item as this was Rare. Armor, Knight’s and Berserker Shoulder Armor with Superior Rune of Melandru. Trinkets, Emerald With Exquisite Ruby Orbs. Weapons, Berserker, Axe/Warhorn and Longbow With Superior Sigils of Force, Purity and Generosity. Traits, 30, 0, 10, 0, 30.
That may be so, that they plan to make something big of that. However when the breathing apparatus, doesn’t prevent drowning. Then I have to ask this. What purpose, does it serve? You could essentially remove the breathing apparatus mechanic entirely, Move all breathing apparatus to the helm equipment slot and if a player did want to wear one because they thought it looked cool, then they could. But as you can see. They don’t serve any purpose, they are essentially just there for aesthetics, to remove your awesome headgear that you wear on the land, when you go underwater and give you worse stats, while also costing you additional cash to put a rune on them.
Now whether what I stumbled on is a glitch, or bug or not, is something for Arena Net to decide. If it is not, Then I would either suggest one of two thing’s. Remove the mechanic entirely, or get cracking on the underwater combat and provide this mechanic with a use, while also giving us some decent underwater helmets.
So I stumbled upon this thread in my search to find out what would happen if one didn’t wear a breathing apparatus while underwater. Couldn’t find an answer so I just gave it a whirl and removed it. Guess what. Absolutely nothing happened. Now I don’t know whether this is a glitch. But if this isn’t. Then what is the point of even having a breathing apparatus? When taking into consideration, it has pathetic stats in comparison, is quite hideous and doesn’t even prevent anything from happening underwater if you were not to wear it.
The search for a guild will steadily be drawing to a close. I will be making a decision between Monday and Friday, so any who would like to take me on as a permanent member of your guild, contact me within the next few days.
Please note that my life outside of Guild Wars 2 takes priority, so I may not be the most active player you will ever have, however I very well will be one of the most committed, if not the most committed and will strive to be as active as I possibly can.
As such, I won’t be on very much during this weekend as I’ve personal affairs to attend to, however I will be on later during the night, hopefully somewhere between 6-8pm AEST and will be on for at least 2-4 hours each session. Please note that I live in Queensland, so daylight savings does not apply.

Currently still looking. I’ve received a few invitations. Those who have taken the time to speak with me and tell me a bit about their guild, I thank you and I’ve added you (you know who you are, even if I didn’t mention that I’d added you) so that I can in the near future contact yourselves once I’ve made a decision. Don’t think that just because I’ve not said I will join you at this stage, that I will not consider joining you, I am simply doing a bit of window shopping I suppose you could call it, so that I can make an informed decision as to who I wish to join.
For the time being I am not going to join any guilds just yet, as I would like to hear from a few other guilds who are willing to take me on, whoever they may be.
You are here to sell yourselves to me, as I am not going to rush and join the largest just because you invited me, or because you gave me a generic one liner. I want to hear about your guild, your people, your goals, where the guild is going and most importantly, what the community is like and whatever information you feel is invaluable to persuade me to join. The decision I make will be a permanent one, whereby I am committed to that guild alone and will fly their banner high, with pride.
I will not go chasing after guilds, as you need to make me feel like I am wanted and take the time to speak with me so that I may make an informed decision. Those that take the time, score points and will have higher chances of recruiting me based on their feedback. Those that don’t, or throw a generic one liner that is obviously used for every single member they recruit shall not be looked at, or taken into consideration as you’ve not taken the time.
So please contact me in game, or on the forum, or over PM. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kaz
Hello there,
I am looking for a guild to join (if the title didn’t give it away :P),
Bit about myself, I am an Australian player, located on the Sea of Sorrows server, am over 18 (shall not specify exact age at this stage). I am a casual, mostly laid back gamer, however can be rather competitive when I’m in a competitive mood.
Current primary focus, is generally PvE at this point as I aim to have one of each profession to level 80 (currently I have 3 level 80s, with a 4th on the way. Warrior, Guardian and Thief, with Elementalist to be my 4th). I will join in on PvP/ WvWvW events here and there, and at a later date when I am satisfied will specialise more in the PvP/ WvWvW area when I can say which profession I enjoy most and dedicate more time to perfecting.
What I am looking for in a guild. Essentially an active guild, that isn’t serious and is social. I am not looking to be in the largest guild out there, however more members will be attractive.
If you’re interested in taking me in to your guild, please leave me a message either on here, or in game. Those that sell themselves the best, I will then proceed to message you in game when I am on next with a few questions about the guild so that I can best determine which is the right guild for me. I am not looking to jump from guild to guild, essentially the guild I join will be a permanent choice whereby I commit to that guild alone.
Regards,
Kaz
I like a challenge as much as the next person. But some of the changes you made, to make a dungeon more challenging went way too far and turned something that was already difficult into something else entirely.
Now personally I feel there needs to be a better system for the difficulty of each dungeon. I have a simple idea, that would take a bit of work, but the end result would be much better. It needs to base the difficulty off of the average level of your party, stats, professions and equipment each player is utilising. Once it has calculated this, it would then put the players through a suitable difficulty for the dungeon, to make it challenging for them, but not impossible for a group of players that don’t have top gear etc.
Next the reward system. Lets face it, it blows. You’re going to punish a group by reducing the reward, because they can do well and destroy a dungeon in under 30 minutes? really, you’re really going to do that. The reward system should help compensate those that do poorly and need to repair their armor while rewarding players that do well. Lets say a group has done poorly, it’s cost a person 20 silver to repair their armor by the end of the dungeon. Their should be a set amount of reward say 5 silver (as a reward) if you completed dungeon in over 30 minutes and did poorly (higher reward if you did it under and did well), then it should also supply an amount of cash (based on damage to armor and the repair bill) to allow for players to repair their armor. The better you do, the better the reward basically and if you didn’t need to repair your armor, the dungeon would not give additional cash for the repairing of your armor. Or better yet, remove/ reduce the cost of repairing armor. If removed no need to supply additional cash for repair, if reduced then the amount supplied for repair will be much lower therefore this cannot be exploited to gain additional money.
Next the tokken system. Seeing as you now provide diminished rewards for completing a dungeon over and over etc. you should introduce a universal tokken system. This would mean if I wanted armor from dungeon A. but was completing dungeon B. I could still get the armor I wanted and play any dungeon I wanted in the process. (if anyone is going to argue that this wouldn’t be fair as they would be completing an easier dungeon, please read the first paragraphs as this issues is addressed as the difficulty of that dungeon would scale based on stats, player lvls, professions and equipment).
I don’t mind grinding for the gear at all and the challenge of trying to get said armor, but you need to make it possible to still obtain it if you’re undergeared, completing multiple dungeons and so that you’re still getting a reasonable reward for your efforts. I could add in a few more thing’s, however these are my main suggestions.
Oh and also, test before you introduce the changes, it feels like some of the changes you make aren’t throughly tested before implementation. Not saying you don’t, but that’s just how it feels, especially with some of the changes to the citadel of flame.
