I didn’t play GW1 and I don’t care about it.
I’m playing GW2 and I like the way it’s developed and how it works. You may have noticed that I like Guild Wars 2 also. lol
Doesn’t mean there wasn’t some cool stuff in the predecessor. Have you ever been lying dead in a dungeon. Can’t rez because the party is in combat. The ability to double click on a party member and see the battle through their eyes would be very cool to have.
I can see why they didn’t do the Menagerie though. That was only for rangers…but in Guild Wars 1, everyone could have a pet by making their second profession a ranger. Where was here, you’d be making an entire area for one profession out of eight.
It’s not exactly the same, but I always thought it’d be neat if they were to create a minion menagerie. Especially after playing through the Toypocalypse~.
A friend of mine who really hates the zodiac armor has challenged me to put together something she’d like and this is the result~.
The current system favors store costumes greatly, since they don’t consume charges. Your suggestion sounds like a good compromise. –
Jumping puzzles and mini-dungeons are very rarely shown on the map, to answer your question. Some of them don’t even have achievements to clue you in. I’ve been playing since launch and still manage to find new (to me) conversations, puzzles and events all over the place. Have you solved the pipe organ mini-puzzle in Caledon Forest, for example? Or visited the Forsaken Halls mini-dungeon in the Dredgehaunt Cliffs? There also are two easy to miss jumping puzzles right AFTER the vista in the south-western corner of the map. –
Oh, and some mobs in that area drop dwarven keys that you can use to open sealed chambers, triggering imp events. It’s one of my favourite zones as some of GW’s most memorable characters are buried there. –

People don’t simply want them for the sake of wanting of them. I’ve stated multiple times (and so have others) that we feel that mounts would add an interesting dimension to gameplay. I’ve linked examples of activities/systems that other games have used and that I’ve personally enjoyed. They added variety.
I can perfectly understand why some people are against them and I respect their opinion. You feel that there are more important things A-net should work on and have no interest in mounts, that’s a perfectly valid point of view. But so is ours ^^;.
The amouunt of interest that your Mounts would add… as an additioonal dimension to gameplay are not enough to overcome My serious dislike of mounts.
I don’t want them, neither do many of the others, and neither do the developers…
close this thread already geeeeeze……
Well, that’s okay. You dislike them. You made your point. I don’t care about balance issues and ascended gear either, but I don’t ask the mods to close those threads. Just state your opinion and treat other people’s with respect. You’re entitled to yours and we’re entitled to ours. There are pros to having mounts and there are cons. Can’t seem to get this across.
There is no hate, I just can’t justify wasting precious A.Net resources on mounts. There is so much to fix in the game.
As for as lore breaking – it is. I disagree with you. Hence why way points were made.
I fell just saying. ‘I want mounts!’ sounds like a 2 yr. old stomping his feet when he can’t have his way.
As I said before, since they don’t have the physics (yes game physics) built in for mounts, that has to be added, as does the modeling of the various mounts to the various races on mounts (with all the different armor, also). That is a ton of work. And don’t point to GW1, with the necrid horsemen, as they were modeled as one piece. Same can be said for the Stone Summit.
It is not a one click add for mounts. I would rather them spend time on new areas to explore, since mounts will be about the same amount of work but fewer people will use them and enjoy them.
The broom is a perfect example.
Alright. Could you then please point me to the source where it’s stated that riding a doliak or a golem is lore-breaking? Is riding horses and bicycles in real life reality-breaking now, since we have cars and planes? I’m really not understanding where the lore-breaking argument came from.

As I said earlier in this thread, we have the way point and Portal system. It was established in in GW1 and continued in GW2. There were ‘situational’ mounts in GW1, such as the wurm in the Desolation but you could not cross that area without them, so it was mandatory and you could not use them in any other area.
Mounts are unnecessary in this game and more than likely a distraction. We will be moving to ‘megaservers’ and that means they need to make sure that the game code is even more optimized. All this is MORE important than some trinket that people use to say ‘LOOK AT ME!’.
Your priorities are not universal. Distractions are my priority.
Personally I’d love a mount system similar to FFXI’s, with a proper breeding/maintenance mini-game. I couldn’t care less for a speed boost but mounts would really add to my immersion (as a roleplayer, I’d be ecstatic) and would offer interesting opportunities.
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Chocobo_Raising
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/The_Chocobo_Hot_and_Cold_GameAnother pro-mounts argument: people love collecting stuff. But simple, racial mounts could also add a whole new layer to the cosmetic game, in the form of:
http://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?484123-Show-us-your-favorite-war-steed-outfitAnother " because I want them" post. No, you need something stronger to justify all the changes that would have to be coded to the game, changes that are Upsetting a LARGE part of the player base…that goes against the stated Intention of the developers…
you need better arguments than " this is what I want, and I want it, and I don’t care that you don’t want it, and I want it coded in the game, and I do not care that the devs have said they don’t…I want it"
since this is Nothing More than " because I want it. " it’s not a good enough reason.
Lore breaking should be a universal no no. Mounts in this game would be lore breaking.
This is not an FF game, this is a Guild Wars game. They do not have the same lore or even races (thank the Six Gods there are no elves in GW). Just because you want them does not mean they should be in the game. Do you ALWAYS get everything you want in life?
It has already been argued several times that mounts are not lore-breaking. Those links I provided were simply examples of ways mounts could add depth and visual variety to the game. People have expressed some valid concerns against them (their redundancy and the visual clutter, for example) but being lore-breaking is not one of them.

I love mounts – pretty much the same way I love minis. They’re fun to collect and to stare at. Humans could ride oxes, asura could ride golems, sylvari could ride young treants, norns could ride doliaks and charr could ride steam vehicles. I doubt public villainous organizations such as the Nightmare Court or some of the bandit gangs are allowed to use the Public Waypoint System after all, and they can’t be going everywhere on foot. :v
I support this. -^_^ Lotro has spoiled me, and I spend an unhealthy amount of time role-playing with tonics and emotes in GW2. The more the better!
[Keep in mind that I’m a a picky reader. ^^;] Personally, I found those books a bit of a mixed bag. I do not regret reading them as they provided some much needed background information about Destiny’s Edge and other prominent npcs, but they weren’t great. Edge of Destiny felt inconsistent–it was a bit all over of the place for me. The prologues were well written and poignant for the most part, but then the characters started acting as if they were playing a game and all sense of urgency and realism was lost–to the point that I wondered if a new author had taken over. On the other hand, Ghosts of Ascalon flowed pretty well. I haven’t read the third one yet.
I have a few lines/dialogues I really like XD.
Baby asura say the cutest things:
Epharr the Third: So, let me get this straight. These hylek are yellow, the ones to the northeast and far south are red, the hylek to the west are orange…
Winni: Right. The blue ones and the green ones are nice, the orange ones and the red ones are mean, and the yellow ones are sometimes nice and sometimes mean, depending on their mood.
Epharr the Third: I wish they were all nice and there was a purple one that sang and gave out candy.
Winni: Me too. But unfortunately, this is the real world. Not some fantasy land.
A charr: I’m delirious, I’m deserving, I’m desiring delicious meat. Doot doot dee-deet. Yeah, meat. Meat! Uh huh. Singing about meat. Oh, yeah. (8)
In Metrica Province:
Xann: “Who’s this worker you’ve been dating?”
Alli: “He finished third in Dynamics, father. You’ll like him.”
Xann: “Why didn’t he finish first?”
Alli: “The Incinergen krewe had already recruited him. His priorities changed.”
Xann: “Hmph. His priorities changed.”
Alli: “He’ll be here any minute father. Please be hospitable.”
Xann: “Oh, I’ll be very hospitable.”
Crabb: “Zapilicious greetings, Alli. What’s cracking? You must be Papa Xann. I’m Crabb of the Incinergen krewe.”
Xann: “Where are you taking my daughter, Crabb?”
Crabb: “Sir, I thought we’d go into the city for dinner at this little human place I know.”
Xann: “Human food? Zapil-ick!”
Alli: “We’d better get going, Crabb. See you later, father.”
Crabb: “Keep it snapping, Papa Xann. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Alli. She’s my own special phosphoradorable flower.”
Xann: “Oh, I’m not worried.”
Xann: “DOM-555i, engage. Initiate chaperone sequence.”
Alli: “Father!”
Xann: “You geniuses have a good time.”
DOM-555i: “Hands—where—I—can—see—them—at—all—times.”
Kiel: “I’m the law around here, and the law is stretched pretty thin.”
Near the portal to LA in the Grove:
Sylvari: Oh, yes. What’s it like to be a golem? Does it dream? Does it have a family?
Asura: It doesn’t have a mother. it’s a golem. You crossed its circuits. I don’t know how you did it, but you weirded out MY golem!
Sylvari: So, you are the mother? or the father?
Asura: What? Well, I- I guess I… Oh no. You’re not getting in my head. You just stand there and help me monitor the gate.
Asura: Am I the mother? Blazing braces, this is what I get for working with the tree children.
I’ve never had any problem, personally. There are certain keybinds that I use everywhere (Shift:dodge/ Alt+r:mounts for example) and hud elements I move around if I can, but I’ve found out that even in the rare cases I don’t remember a key, my hands do or I can easily guess it. :P It may take a few hours to really get back into the flow of things, and the longer you’ve been away the harder it gets – but I’ve only really experienced disorientation when playing games I hadn’t touched for years. Most modern mmorpgs have extremely similar controls.
I.. don’t think you’ll be able to enjoy that kind of classic rpg experience in GW2’s Tyria. GW’s Tyria was a world of magic, rituals and Gods. GW2’s Tyria is a mix of fantasy and sci-fi – definitely NOT a high fantasy setting. The dragons have been consuming the world’s magic. Still, if you decide to give it a go.. I’d probably choose as your personal storyline path:
Street Rat [or Commoner]
Unknown Parents [or Dead Sister]
Priory [or Vigil]
and try maps such as Wayfarer Foothills, Queensdale, Harathi Hinterlands, Brisban Wildlands, Timberline Falls, Fireheart Rise and Frostgorge Sound.
I think Norns are probably the closest race to what you’re describing actually, but you still won’t be able to avoid laser guns and golems.
(edited by Kiayin.3427)
First off I understand the whole ‘bonding with my character’ thing. My main not just a few pixels on the screen for me, she is her own character with a backstory. She isnt real, but thats not to say she isnt important to me.
As for your suggestion I disagree that a conversion is even needed. Reroll another character using the same name and looks etc and think of it as a rebirth of your main. Make up some story in your head that your main got injured during battle and couldnt be saved, but Asuran technology put him/her into another similar body. Give the new character some differences in appearance, saying the process isnt perfect.
The new character isnt actually new, its a new beginning for your main. Think of it in that way and youll realise that you arent losing a character, youre merely taking it down a different path. Its all about using your imagination
Thank you, I think I will try this
Just a question, is there a way to transfer items to different characters? I spent my heroic edition items on this, and I don’t want to lose it.(also crafting things)
because I can’t seem to mail items to myself.
If with heroic items you mean the armour skins, you can transmute them with yellow stones to white/blue low-level gear. This should make them account-bound. You can then deposit those in your vault and use them with any character. –
I regularly spam my friends with screenshots. To the point that sometimes I even feel bad for them. But I need to share the gorgeous! Well, a few of them even ended up playing it and really enjoying it, so they can’t complain too much! –
GW2 is one of the most beautiful games I’ve played – and so is GW. I’m a huge fan of Mr Dociu.
I think it has both pros and cons. I do miss being able to reliably farm a specific item off certain mobs or doing a certain activity – and not feeling like making gold and using the TP would have been the most efficient way to do it. It had its flavor. At the same time, the current system allows you to slowly build a stack of anything as long as you play the game – since there are many different sources for almost everything [salvaging, loot bags, chests, laurel vendor, mystic forge…]. Since the loot is more spread out, you are more likely to buy 5 armored scales per person from 10 different players than 50 from a single one -not taking flippers into account. But you probably also have a stack of 35 slabs of red meat even though you’ve been killing nothing but dredges and pirates.
At least that’s the way I understood the OP! ^^;
Lé Blanc: 4/10. I like french names but the gender is masculine. I would have gone with La Blanche. ^^
Gar Doosh: 8.5/10. Love it XD!
Nori Roll: 11/10. Because sushi is awesome.
My female, elonian human guardian: Tabitha Raas
My female, ascalonian human necro: Taine Thelle
I’m horrible at choosing names.
7.5/10
I really like the purple eyes and ribbons, but I usually go with less mature faces for that particular hairstyle. [personal preference]
My new elonian necro! –
There’s obviously more to the Elder Dragons than meets the eye ^^;.
Extract from http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Elder_Dragons :
The Elder Dragons are ancient, powerful draconic creatures of unknown origins. The awakening of the dragons is followed by their drive to consume of all magic in the land.
Ancient jotun stelae indicate that throughout prehistory, the Elder Dragons have gone through cycles of awakening, destruction, and hibernation, each time ending an era of life in Tyria and bringing forth a new one.
Described as forces of nature and primordial forces from the view of Tyrians, the dragons seem no different and just as unstoppable as a blizzard or earthquake. Each dragon holds a tie to a certain element – fire, ice, crystal, even death.
And: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_dragon
Which is why I found Zhaitan’s death extremely disappointing.
Oh, you mean just like the clipping issues that existed in GW1 as well?
Yeah, you’re right… let’s not try to improve!
From a game that comes years after the previous one, i expect MORE and BETTER than the prequel. You expect a mmorpg with no clipping issues…?
You have MORE races, you have MORE body types and you have MORE armor parts to combine.
This would be valid if the bugs that existed and acknowledged in other areas of the game had been fixed within an entire year of identification, let alone armour clipping issues.
Anet does the bare minimum, as proven by using living story as an excuse to not make an expansion.
And a lot of bugs have been fixed.
I wouldn’t call the living story an excuse; it was a choice, and a cool idea. I do believe its implementation was flawed and at this point I’d rather an expansion myself, as it would allow them to concentrate more on the content itself and to rely less on gem sales. But the amount of detail and thought that goes into each update is staggering, and saying that Anet does the bare minimum is simply untrue.
OP: how much of a difference could there be, once you dye it properly?
You are kidding right?
It was an excuse.
A year was the interval for gw1 campaign additions.
Entirely new continent, skills, weapons, weapon skins, armour skins, professions, monsters, lore.
Gw2 has poorly written and rushed unrelated lore.
Bugs that benefit players are either hotfixed or fixed with a patch days after they are discovered, bugs that hinder players to game breaking point are ignored for months or even years.
Broken promises and lack of entire teams (dungeon teams) ruin in game content.
Sure it was a choice for them not to make an expansion, but living story was an excuse for the choice.
They are all for gem sales to the point where they implement infusions so players will buy their gem store item of infusion removing consumables.
Money hungry biased slackers.
I do not agree. You listed all the cons and conveniently forgot all the pros. Let’s leave it at that. It’s Wintersday! Have a good time. Wherever that may be. –

Made a temporary new character to see if I could make another one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters, The Black Knight. I don’t have the proper dyes because he’s just a new toon for experimentation but I thought I got pretty close
I LOVE it!
I’ve been toying with the idea of giving my new necro a classic Black Knight look. Either that, or a tribal one. I was showing them to a friend today x). It’s tough to preview outfits without being able to dye each piece properly..
Forgal, Forgal and Forgal. I refuse to do Claw Island with any of my vigil characters.
Honorary mention goes to Forgal. And Riot Alice. And Forgal. And General Almorra. And Sister Brenda. And Trahearne’s cats.
I used to be a fan of Lord Faren, but after the Queen’s Jubilee I just couldn’t look him in the eyes anymore. –
I think waypoints are a major feature of this game and shouldn’t be removed [even though I’d personally rather have mounts.]
More toy mounts would be fun, on the other hand. My asura wants a golem!
I started playing GW in May, and personally – I believe anyone who never has is truly missing a lot about GW2. I know I was. Nothing that is going to completely hinder your enjoyment of the game, mind you – but lots of little things all over the place. Graves, melodies, preserved iris flowers, events that will all seem random to you if you haven’t experienced them in GW.
What’s worth noting, as someone else mentioned, is that mechanics-wise GW is a very different game. You’ll be more of tactician than a warrior. You will get your own heroes to play with, choose builds with hundreds of skills available. The explorable maps will be your own unless you decided to team up with other players.
It’s an old game – so there aren’t as many people around, of course. This is especially true if you choose to start in Prophecies in my experience, as it’s the oldest, longest campaign.
Personally, I believe it’s an awesome, original game. –
(And if you’re gonna download the trial, you should try a necromancer! nudges There can never be enough necromancers around.) Anyway, if you choose to stick around, feel free to drop me a pm. ^-^
…and it’s beautiful!

As a game that was trying to rely on cosmetic horizontal progression, I feel character customization is one of GW2’s weak points. Its cosmetic system is far too restrictive and more often than not, this ends up frustrating the player. Here are some successful features from other games coupled with my suggestions. –
= Your character.
1. Character creation.
Whilst we do not need to go to the extremes Aion, I lost count of the number of times I saw people with the same face; the body types are simply too few and do not vary enough. The new additions to the store seem to indicate you’re trying to address this issue – and personally, I was thrilled about it – but it runs deeper than adding a few hairstyles and faces, as the system itself is far too restrictive. Why are scars, freckles, tattoos, make-up – often part of the face type setup, for example? Right now, if I want to make a scarred female human, there’s only one option available. If the scars had their own, separate tab – we would have 21! –
2. Access to the makeover tab all the time.
The only way to preview the changes is purchasing a kit. If said preview was available for anyone to mess with, as it was in GW – people sitting on the fence could toy with it, save templates! – eventually buy a kit or create a new character/buy a character slot.
= A wardrobe for your skins.
Ideally, players would buy transmutation crystals to change their looks all the time. This doesn’t happen, as they’re too expensive – and the only way to retain the old skin is to buy yet another gem store item. Most people buy enough crystals for a set and then they’re done.
Revamp the transmutation system! Give us the option to unlock permanent skins instead, and a wardrobe to store them. Similarly to the vault, the first 30 or so slots could be free – sell the upgrades in the gem store.
You didn’t miss much.
And it did say “fractal fortnight.”
As I mentioned in another thread. That word isn’t part of the average American’s vocabulary. :o
If people don’t know what a fortnight is then they aren’t old enough to be playing this game… that’s like 2nd grade stuff there.
Because only people whose first language is english play this game.
Boss week lasted one month, if I remember correctly… –
If you don’t understand a word, look it up… there’s no excuse for seeing “fortnight”, realizing you don’t know what that even means, doing nothing about it, and then complaining you weren’t warned that LS event was only up for 2-weeks. Fortnight means two weeks. 5secs on Google could have told them that.
I’m not complaining about it, I know what fortnight means – I just disagreed with the sentiment. ^^; Especially when boss week didn’t last one week, which made the whole situation quite unclear. Personally, I believe it’d be nice if the LS meta achievement had a timer – like the monthly.
You didn’t miss much.

My new ranger. I really like the way she’s turned out, even though her expression creeps me out at times. o^-^o
Any new canthan faces?
You should be able to make at least two of the human faces look canthan if you play with the sliders a bit. –
My new faces:
I do not want to be The Hero. Then again, that’s my preference. I think the problem is the pacing here.
Every single npc we’ve encountered so far has gone out of his/her way to tell us about how awesome we are. After 2 measly missions you get promoted to the highest operative rank in your order and then out of the blue you become the commander of an alliance that includes thousands of people. Next thing you know, we’re gonna rule our own country.
Agreed, don’t care about being a hero, but ruler of my own country now that peeks my interest, give me that karka laden island and a army of zerker warriors to command we’ll clean it right up!
XD. I’ll follow you my good sir!
…I do not have a zerker warrior though.
As a minstrel maybe?
This is how I do it. Either:
1. Stand really close to an obstacle/ledge of some kind and then zoom in – eventually, use the sleep/sit emote.
2. Use /sleep and then look up.
3. Hide behind something with no collision detection.
Far from ideal but it works ^^;
=p don’t dash my dreams and hopes for a return to dragons.
On a serious note they need to stick with the core of the game. Lately we have been kinda off on this wild tangent about Scarlet. Someone who was never a part of lore until now. Suddenly has been injected into all parts of lore out of the blue. Personally I think the best thing they can do is
Go back to the dragons
and focus on us being the hero…. no one wants to be the side kick.

It just can’t be done the way it’s been done till now. Effortlessly climbing and skipping ranks in official, huge organisations, no true setbacks, all smooth sailing. I think this is a direct result of their decision to keep internal conflict to a bare minimum – and when not- relegated to what is basically an evil enemy npc faction – which totally kills the original concept.
Overall, I feel like they’ve driven themselves in a corner story-wise. The Pact’s already stationed in FS, keeping Trahearne as the Warmarshal wouldn’t make sense – the player leading the Pact wouldn’t make sense either. So I can’t help but wonder where this is gonna go…
I am glad it’s zoned. Zoned games tend to run better and have less glaring issues on the whole over open world games. If you put as many players as show up to some of the major events on the screen at one time in a game like LOTRO, it would crash horribly.
Heck, my guildies and I played ToR and that game is zoned and it would crash that game too. The fleet in SW:ToR used to get laggy with 100 people there. I did Grenth with a ton of people last night and my framerate barely dipped. Zoned is good.
I don’t think Lotro has those horrible lag issues because of its “seamless world” – I remember them saying that your character information got copied from one zone to the next- which was one of the reasons they had trouble adding more inventory space. From an old post:
“Each server handles a small portion of the entire game world and since we can travel from server zone to server zone across the “seams” without going through loading screens LotRO is a “seamless” world.
….
Servers handle specific areas such as Breeland or the Shire. Servers may actually handle even smaller segments of the game world. Seam I believe refers to where these servers hand off responsibilities.
For example when you ride into trestlebridge you leave the breeland server and enter the north downs server. If there is a lot of traffic on a server there can be trouble handing off the responsibility of generating the world your character sees. This would result in rubber banding where you ride forward into a new server and it can’t handle the load just yet so you get bounced back to the server where you came from. Usually after a few minutes, at most, the new server can give your client the data to generate the zone on your screen and you ride in."

Naga could work, the only thing that goes against it (and it’s a pretty major counter point) is that it would be hard to animate them and they’re too different from the other races body-wise to make it work with the armors. I really want a serpantine/reptilian race though, after Tengu of course.
Mmm you’re right…. We already have the krait as a serpentine enemy race anyway. I doubt all of them have fled north, some of them are bound to have headed in Cantha’s direction, claiming the areas near the coast? and driving the naga away. I suppose the naga could have gone back to the Jade Sea since that’s where they originally came from and it has started to decrystallize. They could live in an underwater starter city that would be a mix of jade and traditional naga architecture. –
That would be amazing! [Yes I tend to daydream a little]

While the elder dragons are mainly the concern of Tyria i feel Cantha and Elona shouldnt be kept out of the idea for future expensions and stuff of the like.
GW1 added new class with every expension pack (save for eye of the north wich added a lot of title based skill wich still in some way is like new classes) what about adding new race such as the Canthian Tengu and the Elonian centaur? We can see Zaishen in lion arch and there is even a mention of Elhona and Cantha in the human personnal story, not to mention that whole area populated by tengu wich is so far unavaillable.
There was a lot of talk around when sylvaris was still in developement lab that the Tengu might be a playable race. Why stop to Tyria alone? The elder dragons do not only menace Tyria but the entire world and we havent heard of Jormag Primordius or Krakaltoric in ages not to mention the other one still lurking across the waves. So far all new content concentrates on pirates and old faction wars. While i do apreciate the recycling of the nightmare court in the toxic alliance (of wich the story wasnt finished because Faolain is still on the run…) I wonder when we will actualy get to explore the crystal desert, the northern shiverpeak and run after the other elder dragons. It has been a year now im hunry for more dragon slaying and maybe a continuation to the personnal story. It was mentionned somewhere that Palawai Joko enslaved Elhona so will we actualy ever get to embark again on a journey to the land of the golden sun?
Yeah, and the centaurs STRONGLY disliked Palawa and his undead army. So they’ve either 1) been exterminated 2) been enslaved by Palawa this time around 3) broken free and have formed/joined a resistance force. A hidden city-fortress that is home to said resistance force would make for a nice starting city. –
The Djinns also had a lot of potential and would make for a somehow unusual yet interesting race, I think.
Canthan new races… Ninja carps? I just can’t get those out of my mind, lol. I couldn’t stop laughing when I first saw them…
Rather than new races, I’d expect a Canthan expansion to bring very well fleshed-out factions, I think. Tengus already have the Dominion of Winds in Tyria, and any other race we know of in Cantha would feel very forced in my opinion.
I started to lose interest in playing right after ascended weapons were introduced. Even though I don’t care for the character, Scarlet’s Invasion was the last LS update I enjoyed.
Since then I’ve just been keeping myself busy with my neglected alts. Recently I’ve come to realise how much fun Ele is, and I absolutely hated that class at first. Farming a few dungeon paths now and again as well, and ever so often I wind up in a PUG with good folks and we have some laughs along the way. But I’m definitely in agreement with the OP, far too much junk
Unfortunately, I can’t do most of the things I’d like to. Storage issues make it impractical to have more than one set of gear per character, and that bums me out a little. I’d probably have three sets each per character to match whatever environment I’m in at the moment (yeah, I’m OCD like that…lol). And ascended crafting…..sigh.
I used to have 7 cosmetic outfits on Lotro :-] [the max allowed for character]. . An outfit for Moria, one for Lothlorien, one for the tundra in Forochel…. Matching my mounts and all that. [http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5480/10959795936_2aec8c0f59_o.png] My kinship even had its own uniform! I ended up filling 300~ wardrobe/storage slots with gear lol. It surely kept me extremely busy. XD I really wish they revamped our cosmetic system.
Alts, roleplaying, writing fictions, travelling all over the world to take screenshots, the activities, some of the LS, talking to every single named npc I find, composing/translating tunes for my flute -next I’m going to learn New Krytan ^^.
You look familiar! Are you sure you’re not the Voice of Grenth that used to appear in the Temple of Ages? I liked that guy, he sold tourist tickets to the Underworld. D8 Maybe you just forgot! Think about it!
You can’t ask other people or a company to exercise control for you. Only you can help yourself. I’m saying this as a person who wishes you well. ^^;
Some people completely change their attitudes when they find out you’re a girl. From then on you need to fight the neverending flirting wave. Everything you say starts to have a sexual meaning. It can get really tiring… I once told my guildies in a game: I asked my friend if she wants to come. Their reaction made me want to run into a column and wake up with amnesia.
I’ve started fighting people who try to give me stuff my own way. Oh, you want to give me some halloween tonics? Here, have some Omnomberry Tarts! Thankfully there are a lot of mature people around, as well! ^^;
Yes, those events are way too hard for a solo roamer. It’s written on the UI! They are group events.
Most people are aware they are group events, the issue is that each one takes up a huge amount of space. They are everywhere and cut off a pretty big chunk of content for new players. Events like these don’t belong in starter zones, specially if they pop up as frequent as they do and take up as much space as they do.
Kessex Hills – I believe they thought there would be enough level 80s in this map since it was the LS zone of the month. It didn’t turn out all that well.
But Queensdale, Gendarran Fields and the other maps? The events are all in out of reach, emptyish areas, which is one of the things I really appreciated about this whole LS since I have a bunch of alts of all levels. There are no POIs, no vistas, no hearts near any of them (that I saw, there could be exceptions of course).
