before patch, do 5-6maw chests a day and i’d be happy if i got a single rare from it.

since patch, done maw 3 times and got 5 rares. yes change is good, but does bring the number of people doing it down which is bad. they need to add something for reward for helping it more then the one time you get your reward so harder things can still get done.

what i see is some people do not have the gold to buy their guild’s influence and gaining it all the normal way is a long task.

many people do not make the gold many of us “casual” players make as many of us who call ourselves “casual” are not realy casual, we are just way less hard-core than we used to be. our time windows are that of a casual, but game play when we play is not on the same level and this makes it easier to see.

either way, the new setup does seem to hurt the small guilds as now it becomes more difficult to bring in new players as they now have even more reason to go to the big guild that will do more of these events more easily.

To me, if a build wasn’t viable without temporary buffs then it wasn’t really a viable build in the first place.

30 minute Buffs with no recast isn’t a temporary buff.

I will rephrase then to consumable buffs.

actually I would say the exact reverse of this, any build that does not factor in the consumables that are available to counter some of its weaknesses is likely a poor build that is not as good as ones that factor in the consumables.

and by this I do no run omn Pie in every situation or every dungeon, I always have other foods for when they fit better or in areas i don’t actually need the food.

for a thief to melee you need to have 1 of three things going, 1. omn pie, 2. alot of dodge rolls = loss in dmg, 3. stealth. Yes I know people will say DB is anoher option but in the current state Condi dmg is crap unless you know your the only on in the group doing it.

the food nerf affect thief less then other classes
even if i used omnombery ghosts all the time, our aoe was very limtied compared to other classes

It broke two viable builds.

and this leaves us with essentially stealth builds to control argo (for truly viable PvE dung builds) but wait didnt they go and mess with stealth not resetting agro.. lets hope I am reading this last change a bit.

and yes S/P and Sb melee CB builds are hurt a TON by this change, 99% of the time my thief hits the floor I can look down and say one of two things, “man, I forgot to use food when we started” or “food just ran out” and by food i mean omn pies.

p/p I am not nearly as reliant on food so I will not feel pain as bad, but It did kill any of my high dmg builds I like to use…

if it ends up being a 1/2sec cooldown, essentially making it so you can only get 1 heal per attack (few from channeled skilled like PW) essentially making it so you can not AoE spam yourself to full health in large packs of trash or in zergs in WvW then I am ok with the change, still viable for most situations (bosses). Remove its OP in AoE spam situations and the food is fine.

if it is any more than 2seconds I realy ask if any testing is done whatsoever..

also, for those it will make them give attention to those other builds for next month.. if they make this type of change, they need the other adjustment today also, not next month. many will stop playing for the month if its that bad and potentially never come back.

Why are Guardians "heals".. so low?

you must be doing it wrong because all of the guardians “small” heals add up very fast. Guards do not have healing issues with AH, if anything too much healing.

the only time an AH guard should have an issue is when your team mates are not smart enough to stay close enough to get all your buffs (= heals for you).

Had this happen once or twice in Arah where a guy switched to a lv 40ish thief when we were half way done with the last boss… dont know how many times he did it but it sounded like it had been done since he was much lower on the alt.. blocked and dont worry about them anymore.

they should add an option to kick or accept when in a dung and a player switched characters. i.e. lv80 war in Arah switches to a lv40 thief we can refuse to let them come in.

Well, you have a few minutes before loot disappears… if you can’t reasonably get to the loot in 2-3 minutes then what the heck are you doing? It doesn’t even stop combat to loot or anything.

I agree that maybe they should add an auto-pickup option for loot for people that want it (like, you walk over loot, it auto-hits the F key for you) but other than that…

I don’t see them re-designing the loot system just to appease a few players.

Dredge Fractal says “Hi” this has happened too many times, but it I can’t complain since this DOES happen to some people and it doesn’t bother me (so much).

this should only be a legit argument if you are exploiting the fight with the wheel where you can not get down to get the loot, but this has been removed. there are legit tactics that do not have this issue for any parts of of the dredge fractal.

In short, the problems are

1) Wait Point as always, ridiculously far away.

2) Even if WP nearby, single player can no longer revive while the team still fight boss. THIS is the HUGE problem. This could greatly making all dungeons even harder than they already were.

Why? In long story, GW2 Dungeons are always horribly bad because their level of difficulty is next to impossible. So the key to help make these dungeons doable is to keep the boss in battle. It gives reason for survivors to keep fighting harder hoping their members would revive run back and help keep boss from reset.

However with the new sadistic change from the developers, player can no longer revive wp while team in combat, which is
1) logically ridiculous, how can your character be in combat if you’re dead
2) technically this mean now you have to lie there helplessly waiting for your surviving member to either kill the boss HOPEFULLY, or party wipe and boss reset at WORSE

I guess i was happy to early when I said dungeons are easier now. Sure I’m glad most ridiculous dungeon like COE with ridiculous boss like Alpha aoe 1 shot spam get less health but

Arenanet still couldn’t resist the sense of sadistic of enjoy watching players struggle by remove party member wait point while team in combat.

You see, Arenanet just intentionally “griefting” their players on purpose right here. Of course there is always no-life-fotm farmer gold buy who would troll that all dungeons are easy, but I would ignore them anyway.

Sad dungeon contents really.

1. most games when you start a boss walls come up so you can not reenter the fight if you release until the fight is done or reset from a wipe.

2. not one fight in GW2’s dung requires any type of rez rushing to do the fight. every mechanic in the game is clearly observable and avoidable if you learn the visual indications.

people like to bring up Alpha as the go to why you needed rez rushing, but why do you need it? He has 3 moves (less depending on the path) 1 require you to stand still and not move, and 2 require you to dodge (one dose not happen if you stay in melee range) as soon as you take the time to learn the 3 skills, it is easy to not have to stack on the boss anymore. if you do not know them stack on the boss and when a red circle comes up wait 2 seconds and dodge (use endurance regen food for this if needed)

res-rushing has always just been a crutch for those who will not take the time to learn the fight, and to be 100% honest has just made the average player worse at the game. this is even more obvious in the trend of not only do we not need to be able to res-rush, we also need to exploit every fight.

the removal of most of the exploits at the same time as no res-rushing just seems like to much to many people because you need to not only learn how to do the fight properly. while it was easier to learn a few fights when you were not hurt as much by one person failing when res-rushing was still there, it is very doable without it.

“WP-rezzing” solution would be acceptable if they also removed the mob-skipping exploit.

its not an exploit, the devs have said MANY times that it is an acceptable strategy. Their is risk in doing it and possible great reward (i.e. faster run). the risk is with a bad group who cant skip it may take longer, but then again, those who are not skilled enough to skip would likely die alot killing slowing you down.. so…

If you dont like skipping, get a guild that doesnt like to also and run with them, problem solved.

As many stated above : We ( the ones that dont got time , including myself ) dont got time to mingle and create relationships in the game ! We want in and out simple !
Just finished a fractal daily 20 with a player that lied that is 20 100% , he was holding crystal all the time ! Do i think thats scamming ?(leeching and lie that is 20) Yes sir i do !

I saw plenty of people do this in daily 20’s before the patch. Just because he grabbed and held the crystal to be carried in the Maw does not mean he isnt 20.

no time, want in and out quick… sounds like even more of a reason you should have friends and guildies in game to run with as it does not take long to make a group if friends/guild (to be honest I am normally having more ppl wanting to run when I ask in guild then I can bring, and the few times this is not the case friend list fills it quick). And guess what, running with good players and same people alot = faster runs then the average pug which is what you say you need.

They are too kitten easy and provide no real challenge… thats whats up with them.

almost no mechanics involved in just about every boss fight, learn how to dodge and how to res people in downed state (not wait till dead) and everything is so easy… You do not need 80’s in exotics to do any dung, you just need to pay attention and know what weps and utilities to bring.

the main advantage that an 80 has is that they likely have each wep combination and all their utility skills to use and the experience to know quickly what wep/skills to equip for a dung or fight. When leveling you may not have those skills yet, or have made wrong choices based on solo play when purchasing skills. With weps, I do not know many who buy each wep each time they re-equip every few levels. Those who do keep one of each when leveling typically only upgrade the ones they dont use every 10-20 levels making it about as good as just not bringing them at all.

Main reason there are less adds on lfg is probably because it’s much easier to get friends to run with you now.

Before the patch, I had to fill out my groups with pugs on lfg because everyone had to be the same exact level, so I couldn’t bring the person on fotm 40 with my character on fotm 33 unless I wanted to waste their time.

Since the patch, I haven’t had to use LFG at all, because even though my alts were on fotm 11 and 23, I can now run them in guild groups doing 26/30 dailies and still advance in levels.

I’m sure many people are in the same position, now they can rely on friends and people in their guild instead of random PuGs.

Thread title should be how to make fractals better in 1 day and why I should make more friends and join guilds who are active.

This is the main reason there are fewer posts on lfg site. you do not need to pug because you can bring in friends and guild members now and do not need to pug.

the second reason is the removal of soo many exploits in fractals that most pugs relied on have been removed, and many of the pugs you have been running with at 20/30/40 just can not cut it w/o the exploit because they never learned how to do it correct.

add these two reasons together, and you get lets look in guild and friends an only go to lfg.com only if we can not fill the group (something that is much less likely to happen now).

Good players are remembered and added to friends list. I often get whispers to go do fractals and arah with people I have run with because you always want to fill your group with good players you know before risking it on pugs.

Remove Booster effect on Karma Jugs

you do not NEED to use the booster, but they are nice if you have them. most of mine are just used w/e i get them and if there is a guild bonus on great, if not, I get so much karma its not a big deal.

Before i blew 600k karma on the new chests in orr I didnt even care about karma because I had so much of it that using the boosts was just giving more of something I do not need

However, the Daily Achievements still take too long to complete. I don’t have time or interest to work at my job all day then try to grind through a to-do list in a video game in a few hours before the daily roll-over time passes.

Then MMORPGS are not the right genre for you.

the daily do not take more than 15min to do… if it takes you that long you should rethink how or what games you play

Maybe I have missed it but some things are still unclear to me and others:

1. I know that the fractal daily chest after the maw is based on the minimum of the level run and the highest even fractal you have access to. (this means no rings/pristine relics if you are not actually on lv 10+)

2. 1-9 drop vials of mist, 10-19 drop globs, 20+ drop shards. if my alt is on lv12 but does a lv 26 does he get a shard of mist essence if i am lucky enough to get a drop? or does he get a glob because he is only lv12?

3. we know loot gets better at higher fractals, but when we are lv 12 in a 26 for example does the loot chance go based on it being a lv26 or do you not get the extra loot chance since you are not actually a lv26 (even though you have the extra difficulty)

Fractals changes: AR

So we have some changes to fractals that clearly did not make it into the patch notes like the ice elemental in dredge fractals.

With 10 AR being near impossible for some classes to make it through this boss at lv20 and 15AR being doable but very hard (unlikely full group with just 15AR will have much success even if know what they are doing and good players) I wonder how we are suposed to get this extra amount of AR before we hit 20?

I went to try to solo in the swamp for the last shard I needed to infuse another ring but the trash no longer dropps anything so I can not even invest hours to get the one shard I need. I know they do not and should not expect us to grind till the boss and reset till we get enough shards to infuse and have enough resist to continue…

Has the drop rate of globs/vials/shards been increased to help us deal with the changes? I can dodge most all the bosses agony attacks before patch but unless I am dodging before the circle is on my screen you can not avoid the ice ele’s agony now, and unless you spend 100g on upgrading your back you cant complete the daily if you get this boss and some others sound like have had similar changes…

I dont get what the devs were thinking.. I would suggest a change so we can get to the next level easier, or make the aggony changes increase every 5lvls not every 10 allowing some time at 20 to get shards to infuse to progress. Of make 1-10 no aggonly 11-20 10max, 21-30 25 ect so you can enter the next tier for daily to get the item you need.

Now I know in a month this will be less of an issue once we have enough laurels to get the amulet, but we dont have that option yet.. so why the change now?

Hi I like the rest of you bought into this game but I feel like I was punched in the gut and laughed at.
This game was suppose to built on not having grind. This was one of Anet’s key manifesto points however now:
1. Legendary weapon grind
2. Gold Grind – you need atleast 100 gold for the ideal build and armor you want. If you want any of the ‘special’ weapon look at grinding out atleast another 300-500 gold (legend range for a min of 1.5k to 2.5k) -unless your brilliant at investing or lucky your looking at around 50-60 hours of grinding to get the armor and build you want. Ironically in GW1 which was ‘suppose’ to be more of a grind this was alot simplier and easier.
Another key point of their manifesto was no gear grind as of now there is:
1. Ascended gear (what?! isn’t this what they said WOULD NOT happen? Did they not say how they disproved of this? How the game should be about having fun?)
They already stated they tend to add more gear grinds later how (Why? The game was released for only 3 months and Anet felt they had to add in a gear grind already?) I can’t imagine what will happen in a year from now.
2. Karma gear -to get one set of karma get you need atleast 240k karma. Yeah for the above avg. causal – to hardcore this is possible but for us casuals this is NOT possible in a reasonable amount of time.

And finally did they not state how this was directed towards everyday? People who simply do not have the time to put in 100s of hours into the game? The information given above tends to differ.
What I don’t understand and what the community in general is confused about is why this game was marked towards people who don’t like grind. Simple put, why not market it towards the people that love grind? (not saying that is bad but it is a completly different market)

1. legenday is no way needed and ment to be a LONG term project. a legendary is realy just a RARE SKIN, nothing more then an exotic then a SKIN (bla bla it will upgrade to ascended stats, but blabla you still need to do all your weps..) it is only a grind if you push to get it asap and not just collect over time and get it when it is done. Every game has to have some LONG terms goal for players to keep working for or why do we keep playing?

2. 100G for full exotic is a bit over the top, its not that high(ectos jumped in last week may have got it to here). but that price is if you just walk up to the TP and buy every piece of exotic lv 80. VERY FEW PEOPLE DO THIS. lets be honest, you should have collect a decent amount of mats leveling up. You should have collected karma to suplement a few gear parts when you hit 80 with decent stats on them. you should have been running some dung to level and collecting tokens to have an exotic wep or two waiting.

When I hit 80 I had enough token for my thiefs SB and a dagger, karma for 4 or 5 karma vendor exotics, and collected enough mats/cash to have a guily craft the remaining gear parts. as time went on I improved the parts that were ok but not best i could use form dung runs. Now with jewlery from ascended (laurels) and exotics from the orr temples its even easier.

3. jump from exotic > ascended is minor if you lok at rare > exotic imo. given they are slowly adding 1-2 parts every few months over a years time to need to get a new set of gear.. cry some more… but seriously, they add fractals to the monthly to get you doing some, they add laurels to get the items. they are not that hard to get and the difference between them and exotic is minor (when full set is out you will knotic, but if you wait till full set is out.. your own problem) by the time the full set is out they will be just as easy to get as full exotic (such a joke) anyways

4. 240k karma isnt that much to be honest. do a few events each day, do your dailys and monthly over the time it takes you to get to 80 you should have enough karma for a few if not a full set of karma gear. Note, very few classes will actually e able to put together a full set of gear from just karam and have the stats they should have, but this helps cut out the gold from some parts.

There is less grind in this game then any MMO I have ever played, and the grind that is there is not required, its simply there for getting skins.

The old daily was stuff you achieved while playing.

The new daily is stuff you achieve by playing a certain way – I guess that’s what bothers me about it.

dodger – dodging should be a part of your normal play, if it is not you should learn to use it as it is a vital skill to be used to doing correctly in any group content. unless you only take on normal trash mobs in open world all day you should be dodging some. Skill Pint chalenges and events are great places to do these if you do not want to do it with normal trash mobs. go run AC and kill Kholer (you will be done in one fight)

healer – reviving dead NPC in quest areas gives completion to the quest, NPC in WvW helps defend, reviving dead people is something you should also do. once again all in normal day of play

kill variety – now less then before, but still same old

gathering – less but same old

combo kills – was slightly buggy, but emphasizes group play (this is an MMO you know) and combos are a big thing to understand and this helps you learn. Now i do admit it was a bit buggy, but expect it working better by the time it comes around again.

underwater kills – 25kills, not a big deal and i’m sure most all of us have some unexplored underwater areas on at least one char to do this with.

events – same old

We can keep going on, but none of the new dailies I have seen fall that far out of normal game play (but maybe underwater, but if you avoid underwater the few min it takes is getting you to do something new and explore)

Solution to the rez-rushing dilemma.

Why did wp-zerging happen in the first place:

1. people do not help rez when ppl are downed, they just let them die and run back. when someone is downed it is EVERYONES responsibility to get them back up ASAP. now you have agro, this may mean moving the boss away from the dead ppl to make it easier, everyone else should be on them rez very fast = no dead = no problem

2. people need to actually learn the fights(what the bosses do, and what they visual q is for it), learn how to stay alive (dodge, utility skills, weapon sets, build adjustments), and be willing to make these changes (weapons and utilities sometimes change for each boss in the dung)

They are really not that hard if you pay attention and care enough to learn how to run the dung. Most of the time you have 2-3 seconds (a decent amount of time) to see the skill and dodge (in many cases the window of when you can dodge to avoid skils is very wide also, but sometimes it does require timing which will depend on your computer and connection to figure out the exact wait before dodge)

you can not get the nice looking arah gear from doing anything but arah. you want stats go to the TP and done in 4min with full zerk gear or w/e else you want.

you want the skin, you need to put the time in.

@Sylvers your right it’s not so much a bad thing, just cramped my style on controller for cof and making it take longer, and usually that’s one of the only reasons a thief gets into a “farming” party lol.

isnt the hole point of thiefs guild on the gate controller to have all 3 attacking it and drop it in like 5second before it could have event killed you anyways?

use ranged on the controller as soon as gate pops up, both thiefs will start attacking it and get initial sight agro on the hellstorm and you can then jump in and melee it or stay ranged and just run in to get your chest and go to the boss.

remember they said there will be MANY other places to get laurels in time (many other achievements will give them and other things related to new content that is yet to be seen.

The daily/monthly laurels is just step 1 of many ways to get them. right now, yes you need to focus on one char for the items, but in time it will become easier and easier to get them to do stuff for all your toons.

Account-Wide Gold/Karma

talking karma, i would like to see this happen, i have a lvl 52 toon which i want to delete to free up another character slot, this character has 42k in karma and i stand to loose it, unless there is a way for me to run down to fort trinity to spend it on the new chests..can this be done?

yes, but you will only get back 50-60% of the karma spent. buy the chests, open them, pass the karma items to another char via bank.

The purpose of stopping res-rushing?

If the purpose is to make people work better as a team and learn their class then that is all good but I think it also means they should remove revive orbs. These will become pay to win items, this idea makes me want to vomit… I hope this is not one of their intentions, to make more profit from revive orbs and other boosters.

If people need res orbs for anything but Maw…

I have done every dung path multiple times (but Arah p4, never get ppl who will do it or stay at simin to get it done, another story) and have never needed to use a revive orb, nor has anyone in the groups. We also never have needed to wp-zerg any fight (rarly using a wp when group is in combat). We did not even need to exploit bosses to do this. Why? we all know our classes, how to dodge, and understand the fights.

now the average player will need to learn these same things to progress and not just fail their lives away ingame. good changes!

Fractals Grouping system needs a change

Why is it this way? My alt guard has 20 AR but is only on lv5 fractals, I wan to take him in the lv20 runs with my guild mates. I can.

your suggestion means I need to run lv9 4 times, then 19 10 times before I can join my friends. My main is on 21 with 25AR (thief) but I enjoy my guard more these days and I want to use him and this patch has been the best thing for this.

Now yes you need to be careful for pugs that they have the skill/AR to do your current level selection, but realy why are you pugging with this change is your guild that bad? and if so why are you not in a better guild?

Why should dungeons be tuned to the lowest denominator? Ppl want endgame (hard content) and Arenanet makes dungeon to be hard. If you can’t pug then join a nice guild, find fun and good ppl to play with and enjoy the dungeons how they should be, WITHOUT stupid wp-zerging!

there was no dung or path that needed wp-zerg. wp-zerg has been a crutch that has allowed players to not L2P and as a hole has made the average player worse as they never learn the fights or how to adjust build/skills. add in the mass exploits everyone uses and it makes it so no one has to get better.

This is now changed and people will need to L2P or not run dung anymore if they are not willing to learn.

this change has made skill and mechanics a factor as they should be. Now the change to down scale of players may still need some adjustment, but I didnt have any issues in the few exp I have done with it.

Lrl Vendor No Backpack = Fractals Mandatory

I guess you need to do 1-2 in order to get a vial, but most of the backs come from the forge (ectos and crafting mats and SP, plus the one vial) not from doing tons of fractals.

and the vial can be farmed (or used to be able to be) solo inside f crafts killing trash mobs, meaning you do not need to actually run them (unless this has been changed).

No, lupi will not make or break any more groups then before because the run back was already so long most groups wont notice the difference.

uhm. Wrong. Many times I’ve seen people die in subsequent order and running back, keeping lupi from resetting and eventually killing him.

this happens when you have 1-2 good players who will not die and a bunch who keep dieing. all it now does is force the bads to get better or stay out of content above their heads. Lupi has been soloed by multiple classes multiple times, people need to learn the fight and adjust.

Dungeons are rediculous now.

This is THE MOST IDIOTIC thing ArenaNet has done in the game. Are they serious about that? Why i can’t respawn when team is in combat?

How do you expect people to run dungeons now ? Pug groups have hard time enough finishing dungeons with the level of difficulty they are in now ?

Tried Sorrows Embrace path 2 and Citadel of flame after this patch. Is nearly impossible to complete them with random groups. If you don’t go with full dps group how do you expect to kill the adds to protect the NPC until it charges the bomb at 100% ??

Either decrease the level of difficulty of the dungeons, or revert this idiotic decision.

read the note, they rebuilt this part to be different now, and it was easy to kill them before anyways

path DR, 2hr timer. if you run the same path more than once in a 2hr window (account based) you have DR, i.e. run the path on second char right after and you will not get the full reward.

dung DR, run more then 5 paths (account wide) in 2hrs and you start to get DR on the tokens.

all times are kept based on when the dung ends.

How annoying would it be if the player who created the guild switched servers and took the guild’s upgrades (incl. the bank) and influence with them?

if the leader wanted to steel everything from the guild who uses the bank all they would need to do is kick everyone and then it is there personal bank/cash house anyways. the leader can already take everything and switch to a new server with it by putting everything in the personal bank and or in inventory and then switching. all they lose if guild upgrades i guess if they make a new one. what is the difference really?

i would expect this to change monday, WAR are a bit OP in the game atm, and they should either be getting tonned down in the patch, or others getting buffed up some to where this will change a bit.

Also, most of these groups that are WAR only actually suck due to the sheer number of ppl who have quickly leveled a war just because of their want and many of them suck and just hold back the group.

That’s why I tell players wanting to try Arah to go now, while they can resurrect in a fight.

Anyway, it wouldn’t surprise me if Giganticus is modified to make it easier for new players.
But, if I have one advice : fight Giganticus along the walls. That way, when you die, another team member can resurrect you while the others keep him busy at the other end of the room.

i have taken GL countless times when not a single person in the group fully dies, and many times where not a single person goes into downed state. He does not need to be changed due to the no more releasing to the WP while people are in combat.

Given that he is so easy to reset (run back out the door) if it is going bad, it there is no reason the hole group must wipe.

To be honest, they need to bring one boss up to this level of difficulty in each exploratory path starting with SE and TA should have 1 that’s almost like this to get people ready.

AC path 2 is definitely the easiest all around. Paths 1 and 3 aren’t hard, but the burrow challenges are a direct damage dps check that many pugs have issue with.

AC has too many bugs in path 2 in the final room that can lead to most any groups end (8-12 up in the last room at once is not fun). Path 1 is by far the easiest, and there isnt really any dps check at the burrow event (I recall a recent video of it being soloed), any group in level appropriate gear should be able to do it as long as they know the order to kill them in

To the OP, I find the best thing to do is to keep your tanky/dps build (0/0/30/30/10 for example) but rather than running tanky gear (PTV soldiers) run a a even split of berzerkers and knights (do some reading and you can find the correct parts to go with each) and what happens is you give up some health (3-3.5k, putting you in the 16.5k range rather then around 20k) but gain another 10% crit chance and 15% crit dmg.

In doing this you gain a little toughness and keep about the same power which in the end your remain with the same survivability (assuming your 1/2 decent at dodging the important things to dodge) and dmg baseline, but you crit more often and harder giving you a nice boost in DPS (and if you run empowering might, even more might stacks for the group which is also nice)

The issue I have is more in that when 3 are places close so you agro all of them at once with all 3 doing knockbacks its kind of stupid, unless you have a guard to reflect (dont always have) its just stupid.

I suggest the frequency of knockback is reduced, size of ground aoe is reduced (should never be able to stand in a place where the circle is not visible at all on the platform (yes this may simply happen as you moved on to get to your corner so it can be seen)), and space them so you do not need to agro more than one at a time (make it possible, but only attacking wrong one would lead to it)

Thats why it is a fine idea to buy the exotic and rare bags from the fractal vendor, all the goodies automaticly go in there and the craps go in all other bags

this exactly. I run 2-3 normal 20slot bags, then 1-2 fractal uncommon, 1 fractal rare, 1 fractal exotic, 1 crafting and 1 invis bag. All the blues go at the top with my greens/rare/exotic neatly separated and the crafting bag keeps the top normal bags from filling too fast so that the blues dont mix into my greens. when i hit the forge/vender/salvage to see what i am going to do with each item, it is easy to see what is what.

didnt they say two things:

1. we are not making drastic changes to anything in game, i.e. and “nerf” to AoE will likely be a multiple step process with minor changes each time and monitoring for a month or so to see if more needs to be done, meaning you shouldn’t notice a big difference

2. its more of an issue of AoE being strong enough that when the question of AoE vs single target skills come up for single target fights (bosses, 1v1, …) that the AoE is almost preferred in many cases which is something that is wrong. There are many ways to deal with this, lower AoE dmg, longer cooldowns/cost for AoE skills, buff to some single target skills for classes that only use AoE. There are many ways that they can “nerf” AoE so it is not the preferred skill for every situation and we will just have to wait to see what they do.

The only place i tend to see this constently is for ARAH, and with good reason. rest of dung does not matter much. but if thats all there is wait 5min or make your own

Got to say, hardest path ever, but best Guild wars 2 moment for me!

Did it for the first time today, with a full guild party.
Took us about 7 hours to do the dungeon (once again, first timers) but it was such a rewarding feeling when we finished it!

Dwayna was the reason it took so long, but it was completely worth it!

Party setup:
Condition/toughness ranger (me)
Condition damage thief,
2 beserker ele’s.
Hybrid warrior.

How we did it:
Thief scorpionwired her into one of the walls, and the ele’s and warriors would stay on her constantly. Before we began we stacked up about 200 of the dwayna’s tears at this location.

Me and the Thief also dps’d but made sure we would stay out of aggro as much as possible. We kept watching the health bar closely and me and the thief would take the sparks into the positions (I would take the 3 near the entrance, he would take the 2 at the end).
To be completely fair, we first tried it with only one ele, and one necro and didn’t manage to get her down enough (seemed we lacked DPS). The necro sadly had to go and the ele replaced her, in the end we got her in a few tries and killed her in about 35 minutes.

And believe me, when we killed her we had a glorious moment :p
It is hard, but it is do-able, and completely worth it.

I find that there should be paths like this, paths that are a REAL challenge, that require teamwork, and require patience.
Only thing that saddens me is that even after 7 hours, you’re lucky to walk away with a single gold from the whole dungeon.

while I agree about challenge and difficulty there is a difference between that and buggy mechanics that make i a stupid challenge. the idea and concept of the fight are easy, but even with great execution of the correct plan it may not work. Hopefully it will be fixed next patch to where it is hard, but not to the point that most will only ever do it once for DungMaster title and never go back.

The problem I typically find is after 1 or the group has run the mobs do not reset to their original standing point, and this can make it more difficult to run with some classes.

I have guildies who are not that good at skipping (class related) and when they go first run they normally make it, but when they go after someone when they do not know where mobs will be to time specific skills they just die over and over. That 1 pug who will not run with the group and just runs ahead almost always kills the rest of the group for this reason (normal agro free path now has agro or just mobs not where you expect and hard to run by for some classes after).

Sorry but that’s a load of baloney. It’s not on the developers heads if you choose to exploit. Take responsibility for your own actions. A set of armor is each path 7 times. That is hardly a lot and far from getting bored from it already.
Also that quote was about skipping mobs and not exploiting.

7times to each path is about a full set (is for AC, others take more). Many dung have common parts to all 3 paths meaning 21+ times doing the same thing. you tell me your not board or start to want to skip things that are not needed to be killed to get the runs done?

you also assume that each path is equal in that you will run all 3 paths, go look for CoF or TA gear, I bet you will not be running p3 or F/F 7 times, or even if you would finding people to do them 7 times is hard. this isnt as much of an issue in AC, but most people shouldn’t be doing AC for the gear as the stats are not that great for most all classes and if you disagree with that you should rethink how gimp your making your char build from what it can be.

I’m not assuming anything, you on the other hand are assuming a lot, nowhere did I state they were equal. Also or the record no I’m not bored of them I’ve done AC many times CoF as well and I can keep doing them with no problem. No I don’t do CoF p3 mainly because the first part is a pain. If I start to get bored of them I’ll just stop doing them for a while. I don’t funnel myself into only one small aspect of the game.

As for gear you know a lot of people actually go for the armor they think looks best and stats be kitten Stats don’t make you a good player. Being a good player makes you a good player. You might want to think that over for a while.

funny how removing the thing you were responding to in your quote makes it seem like you assumed nothing when you told the guy he was full of crap and i justified each thing he said.

and if you think stats do not matter your clearly do not understand that while the player skill only starts where a players skill level is, his gear/build/stats make a huge difference. the difference from using the wrong gear and the correct gear is huge, and even larger for a good player who knows what they are doing.

Bad players are bad no matter their gear, this not the case for good players

camera already gets too messed up in some smaller areas with the level of zoom out we have now and you want to go further? let them fix issues at the current max zoom out first before we go further.

no, over time there will be new gear added that we will want and it would be nice to gain something more then a skin for my work. 1 new level every two years or so is nothing to cry about.

absolutely not, I want some reward for my work, not just a gate to come content

does not matter as long as it would be only every few years it goes up.

already does and yes, dont want crying PvP players to mess with PvE any more then it already has.

well.. not sure. when i pug and people gimp the group in MF i guess it be nice to get some of that reward, but see 6, better alternative
