That is just too good lets be realistic here Anet isn’t going to go bankrupt from the loss of a single player To be clear though Arena net isn’t making me exactly want to stick around my self but I cant ever pretend that I put in enough money in that gemstore if I suddenly stop that Anet will go bankrupt Only way Anet will notice your departure is if you buy every single gem store item released bought the deluxe edition of HoT and that’s across several accounts

In regards to mitch while I’m not personally concerned if your statement is directed at me or others in general I will say how people type in this forum in regards to this delayed patch if that is leading you are somehow wonder what they physically look like in real life and possibly assume something specific without any basis or information to prove the thought that comes off as kind of petty but that’s my personal perspective

If they kept having problems and problems that could have had given out a few more notifications about any hang ups they don’t have to give specifics but some projections of the outcome would be nice even if it isn’t certain like their statement regarding tomorrow they said what needs to be said their working on it but they cant promise it will be ready tomorrow far as I am aware nothing of that sort was said in regards to today And as far as players being strung along Arena net *may not want to break the hard truth to players because a lot of people likely planned for this update in regards to their real life commitments The truth or a close estimation of a specific out come is more preferable as opposed to being strung along

If this is one of this hypothetical situations that is supposed to make people stop and think about what would happen if they were doing something for their spouse and they weren’t back on time for what ever reason and the loved one wasn’t informed let me go ahead and stop you right there this isn’t that situation Arena net wasn’t going out to get us icecream and to be completely honest the reason why people get irritated over these kinds of issues is because someone always tries to white knight and protect a company from the likely hood of anger that will arise …Few people are grilling Arena Net about what happened Most can agree things could have been done better in term of communication

Whether it not one person considers the whole thing understandable doesn’t mean everyone is going to see it that way a lot of people planned their days around this patch because they have real life commitments and they had to clear things on their plate to make sure they were going to play today I can personally understand the patch not coming out today but I can agree with some of that frustration some players felt like they were being strung along like the patch was going to get released While I cant speak for everyone in the game nor would I try to Safe bet most of us are big boys and girls if Arena net woulda came out and gave us the likely hood that it wasn’t gona release today at a way earlier time frame I woulda been fine instead we got strung along only to find out after hours of waiting it wasn’t going to happen and it still might not happen tomorrow I am all for understanding the uncertainty of whether or not it was going to happen I’m not understanding if its uncertain and were made to believe that it likely will but doesnt

Meh birds of prey and griffons id still take an pet asuran teach it some tricks and right before it goes into battle if I use a skill that affects my pet asuran it should yelp excelsior! as it charges into the fight and thus earn me bags of loot …Id settle for an asuran backpack though why do we have charr backpack but not asurans? just doesn’t seem fair =/

Even though I can agree with you thread maker Sadly Arena Net cant just go o well kitten we had people abuse the system no one gets titles and since there would be so much finger pointing back and forth about who maybe guilty of these things and who aren’t it is much easier to just give them the titles and hope the system works better next time sigh It isn’t likely to work out better next time but .. In my deluded twisted personal perspective the titles should warrant their due respect in EU for those who may be wearing them …But if you see them in NA since we cant really say for sure who earned theirs and who cheated for theirs I wouldn’t waste the time on it If they earned their titles fairly and legit here in NA they can be proud of them And if they didn’t they know it they aren’t fooling anyone

That personal battering ram looks like it could 1 shot the doors on the Battle of Champion dusk with 1 thrust….. Arena Net might have to nerf the range of that ram coming out clearly its OP with that kind of distance I can only imagine the asuran engineers in the game crying their ram only reaches out half that range

Just a personal thought but I don’t think the majority of the player base of PvP only players would enjoy a legendary pass that allows them to stand in a Special Spot In the hearts of the mists even if they are few while I’m not attempting to speak for any of said people but of all the things that you could get that would actually be worth the work via getting to legendary I personally don’t think a pass would go over well I could be wrong but I doubt it tbh

So at no time did you dismiss the que for any reason Just to clarify? I know if you que up and when it asks you to hit accept if you hit dismiss you will get some dishonor ..If that isn’t the case I would be filing a bug report If you made it already in a match and were on the map about to begin then I would for sure file a bug report seeing how the only way you can exit a que that I know of after being on map is to disconnect

Ironically that player used to be a WvW zergling commander for BG I wonder if he still does or not though it should be noted publically mentioning him by name and the accusation of what he may or may not be doing will likely result in Arena Net Taking down your post for name shaming …even if he does intentionally throws matches Though the thought of him throwing matches isn’t surprising he obviously cant have a zerg of 40+ at his back while he charges the lord on legacy of the foefire but then such are WvW zerglings

They do NOT have an average players skill and should not start halfway, it’s unhealthy to the average gamers…" Sometimes players end up in higher ratings even if they don’t belong there because of how they placed If they got some solid match ups they won over teams that they should have lost to they get placed higher *assuming I understand match making correctly When they drop down in rating its to find out where they belong division wise arguably I my self placed T3Gold when I started the season like 1640 rating highest I ever got did I stay that high? Negative I fell like a rock down to Gold t1 arguably where I belong while I cant say for certain the match making system works good or bad I know deep down I’m borderline an average player and for me to finish out even at gold t1 I probably got lucky

It’s really hard to carry as a Thief when the Team is dying in mid (when Thief is still capping close – cause everyone says “thief close”) , or when someone goes far when mid fight is still ongoing" I cant speak to whether or not that happens to thieves as I don’t play one but I can safely assume it happens to most classes and people even if you know you are putting in the work but your team still somehow loses and says your the reason why If you are fortunate enough to not be bothered by these things you can keep going just be prepared incase your team somehow kittens up the match and you still get blamed even if you pulled your own weight did your part maybe even carried as hard as you could Sometimes in the rare instance no matter what you do no matter how hard you try someone is going to say you are the reason why they lost and its a safe bet because they don’t want to admit it may have been them easier to blame others then take accountability for ones own mistakes

While I can agree with azyume.6321 that does work to an extent but from personal experience sometimes your team will still find a way to lose and find a way to blame you for it even if you are keeping 2 people busy at a point Its a coin toss measure it can benefit you in a lot of ways or it can make you the target of your teams finger pointing if yal should some how lose despite it

No one has ever told me they were afking for the loot Maybe others have had this happen to them but there is no mistaking a person who stands at your spawn after dying twice and refuses to contribute to the rest of the match rewards or not If everytime you lose a capture point and your team is dying but you see the same person on your team standing still in the spawn I can only assume he is trying to pike the match While there is an inactivity timer for PvP for not moving or using skills it isn’t too hard to sit at your computer press an attack to prevent the timer from kicking you out Maybe they are there to troll maybe not the point is made though they are being rewarded for doing such while as slow as that progress may be it will still get them there or very close to the same result if they just put in the work all that differs is the time invested actively

You can see it perspective wise from this example Most people wanting the rewards will likely enter PvP hoping to win and get the big bundle of pips to get those rewards fast but as with most things if winning requires more then minimal effort one can simply shrug and go well sure I wont get the big pip bundle but I still get one even if we lose I can still make progress on the armor and get there eventually without having to try too hard with that mind set one may afk without concern of whether or not they are actually going to win While I do believe there should be some progress to the rewards if you lose it should be amount wise more of a consolation prize like half a pip that way you get something for at least trying but if you want the final result you have to actually put some effort in rather then just queing up and coin flipping I suspect if there was no pip progress for losing You would see either 2 things More people actively trying to win Or less people in PvP in general that would cycle out the people who intend to put in the effort to get better and win Vs people who realize if they lost they aren’t rewarded for it and thus they will go elsewhere

No crinn you are correct you don’t get *Winning Pip amounts for losing but you do get a single pip for losing and those pips add up after a while I can assume there is no one *hopefully straight up intending to lose every single match and farm ascended armor 1 pip at a time the progress while slow is enough to get you there over the season ofc the dedication to such laziness is beyond imagination However some players will go to these lengths for those items when weighed vs spending hundreds of gold to craft a set of armor or do fractal runs daily via completion to get these items and hope its the stat you need vs winning a few matches and losing most to get armor you can pick any stat you want and get nearly if not a full set

That is Arena Nets way of getting other players into PvP it isn’t intended for people who only PvP who have no use for items with stats Its intended to for the purpose of getting Players who don’t PvP Into PvP with an incentive and in this case the incentive is more rewarding to lose rather then to try and get it via winning I agree with you that ascended items most likely mean nothing to people who only pvp which is why I am confident in the theory that the rewards are for people trying out pvp for the new season Anet is more than aware that the general Straight up PvP only player base is small when you compare it to people who PvE or WvW… In general from a PvE Or WvW perspective besides these ascended chests what reason is there for a PvE or WvW based player to enter pvp? Some do it for the challenge or competition granted Or are achievement point hunters but most like the reward and if the reward isn’t worth it the incentive isn’t enough to get them there As I see it to be more of a marketing perspective from Arena Nets part Its easier for them to get PvE players or WvW players Into PvP with rewards they can use In their respective game modes as Opposed to encouraging PvP only players to enter PvE Or WvW as it has been the long standing trend in my experience Most PvP only players aren’t fond of PvE or WvW for various reasons And thus Arena Net isn’t likely concerned with getting PvP main players Into PvE Or WvW but the reverse

I agree they shouldn’t be removed but they should be earned ascended armor/weapons/trinkets with selectable stats shouldn’t be farmable by losing matches I personally would rather win my matches so I can get the gear w/o having to throw 300 straight matches the time invested to lose all those matches to get a pip or 2 at a time Well lets just say “Aint no one got time for that” * at least I hope no one has time for that

The concept of these items being free is a bit of an exaggeration tbh while they are *A lot easier to get vs ascended in PvE Or WvW no argument they still require the player queing up and half kitten playing the match as most of the players who are doing it for the rewards are just throwing the matches As someone who PvPs PvEs I can say yes its insulting to see the gear being offered here for a lot less effort and its brought out the worst part of the PvE Community and that is the player base that wants the best rewards for the least amount of work Sadly there are players like that in most game modes This is why we cant have nice things

Oh I agree with you LouWolfskin removing those rewards would send the pvp community back down to long que times The rewards should be earned not farmed no doubt but if Arena net does as the majority of the PvP community is suggesting removing these rewards completely all the players that came for them are leaving also because reality is these rewards are likely the main reason why they in pvp to begin with

Just to make a mental note of it back in S3-S4 If you roamed Heart of the mists while waiting for a que you heard a lot of people complaining about how long they were taking While I suspect not all will make such an issue Most would and that is just going off the general trend that is apparent when you enter the mists and ask what are the que times like for today So if the masses who ever that is want shorter ques they need more people in the population and in order for that to happen you have to dangle the carrot here From PvER perspective looking at pvp not account for ascended gear "Why would I go to pvp? be in an toxic environment that in general despises anyone that plays other game modes besides PvP and for lack luster rewards? While noting the toxic nature of the game in general you can go into any game mode and find it ..but Unlike PvP PvE And WvW has some rewards that at least encourage a player to be willing to do it as opposed to going to pvp to get belittled because they think your bad or what ever ego stroke reason they have for the day

What!? Frostbites AI? have you seen that thing in action during the living story episodes? It practically carries the entire instance!!! I have personally witnessed that little critter defend against High tier Veterans …Champions I wager it alone could solo a elder dragon If you replaced Player Devourer AI with frostbite youl see rangers beating all the content in the game alone! they wont even need a group And to think of what they would be capable of in PvP entire 5v5 matches All rangers Using the same pet they would all drop smokescales and bristlebacks for that frostbite AI devourers PvP would become Unbalanced Unstable Unplayable!

All ranged pet projectile speeds should be the same as Core Necromancer Dark Path Death Shroud 2 for those who don’t recall I wager if pet projectiles were that same speed then All ranged based pets would be in a respectable form of balance none could argue against! Non sense fluffball! if the OP thread maker is dying to this pet clearly carrion devourer is broken and needs to be addressed No underground burrowing! it should sit in AOEs and die with in a few hits its slow pulsing Poison fields should be nerfed to do minimal damage to allow a certain forgiveness play style for players who get caught in it! Furthermore Every class beside ranger should own a Moa Style mechanical skill that when applied to the ranger nulls the pet completely that way there is some counter play involved! Doh almost forgot its ranged projectiles 2nd only to the mighty bristleback projectiles All ranged based pets should have their projectile speed reduced to allow players to walk side to side to avoid them without being hit a single time Sounds fair? I thought so

I guess since we cant really prove for or against whether or not Arena Net is actually banning them its just speculation at this point but my thoughts tend to wander on the possibility that if Arena Net was actually banning players for doing this you would think that would discourage some others from doing it ..which I havnt come across a lot of atm no exaggeration any given day I can wander into an example zone like bitterfrost frontier and see a ranger or necro farming the braizers afk on the off chance anet is actually banning them and the players are still doing it that says how short the ban was not enough to discourage the deed weighed vs the consequence of doing it

Must have been some short bans good to know anet is so forgiving when it comes to these things players can commit the same offense over and over again until anet gets tired of dealing with them *If it ever gets to that point

I have reported several of these players specifically in the bitterfrost frontier near the first brazier the same rangers or necros everyday for hours at a time you can guess when they are afk because of when the storm kicks up all the champions most of the time you see a champion or 2 in a single spot everyone goes to tag them for the loot ..not these players they sit still their pets or minions rarely get hit so they don’t get the loot I can only assume they are indeed AFK and since I continue to see these players after several reports over the weeks its a safe bet anet has made up their mind in regards to this issue

Why would Arena Net ban them for doing any of this? We all know by now Arena Net is more likely to make a stink about people Name shaming on the forums rather then Enforcing their TOA especially when it comes to these kinds of things something you should keep in mind steelheart as I see you mentioned a few of those players in regards to this issue Anet is more likely to do something about you and your post naming them in it vs what their actually accused of even if there was proof funny how that works out isn’t it lol

There are no doubt bad players in NA as we can both agree but as you stated you have been playing a few days since returning Not from the start of the season and certainly not for the past year and a half …. In general while I can most likely agree your are running into a lot of players who cannot rotate or just play bad but I respectfully caution you from judging NA PvP entirely based off of these players solely you have encountered from 28 games As they do not represent NA as a whole most would argue we as NA have some good players and yes we likely have a fair amount of bad ones but the very concept of good or bad player wise is subjective depending on whom you ask which is a trend we seem to have here at NA we are quick to assume so and so is bad just because they make mistakes when we see them play a match or two while not accounting for generalized off pvp days or in general just bad days where a player just keeps making mistakes even though they may be decent arguably noting there has been several instances from the start of this season players being accused of throwing matches intentionally for what ever reasons whether or not that relates to your matches at all I cant say for certain I only urge you to keep an open mind regarding NA PVP In general respectfully

Can we at least hope this Group leather farm will actually be Active players farming? Or are we going to see 2 rangers & a MM necromancer standing next to each other farming mobs via AI doing the work while players grab popcorn and afk away the day?Note to any replies I play ranger/necro a lot my self I’m not hating on the classes ..just the trends of passive AI farming all though I wouldn’t mind Arena Nets thoughts on players using AI to farm events like say …. bitterfrost brazier defend events I’m not aware of their current stances on these things happening but I can recall the days when a warrior would bot and farm in frostgorge sound they were reported and banned .. but these days since players can use pets or minions to do the work while living np somehow that doesn’t count as *botting per say just curious of Arena net intentions on changing that or not

In regards to the shroud kicking you out sometimes this happens in relation to the Unholy Sanctuary trait Idk if you use it or not if you do I note you said it happened a lot during a fight but sometimes when people use that trait and they get low the trait procs when the player doesn’t expect it they panic and drop shroud I play necro my self I don’t encounter any bugs where I enter shroud and it getting canceled early unless I fat finger it and cancel my self I will note sometimes the ping in the area I am currently in affects my shroud going off a lot sometimes ill be in a laggy instance ill press my shroud key it wont go off then suddenly itl pop up and ill have already hit shroud again canceling it and it will be on CD if none of that has any relation to your specific shroud issue then nvm my post

Also from a marketing perspective allowing people who didn’t pay for the expansion to use the same abilities as players who did pay for it might alienate those who actually bought the expansion Arena Net has been active in bringing up most core aspects While toning down HoT to be more in line granted while they aren’t even they are closer now then they were when HoT was released if Arena net wants to let people use HoT elite specs after the next expansion is released I could see that working ..but reality is if they didn’t cough up the money for it like others they shouldn’t get the same benefits as those who did that old saying you get what you pay for applies well in this regard

Sounds like a troll post tbh but the thought of someone dying to a carrion devourer in this day and age of pvp when bristlebacks and smokescales pets are usually the meta is honestly laughable some advice if your on a node and plan on holding it being alert is a good idea if your staring off into space and a ranger can run up to you w/o you doing anything you signed your own death warrant If a ranger is intentionally trying to get close to you chances aren’t he isn’t there to tickle you to death id expect some solid condition or good damage

Didn’t realize laughing at players once in WvW after a few deaths warranted guilt mail … Anet should remove all emotes in WvW/PvP For the greater good of younger folks ….PS no 10 year olds or their mothers were shamed in the making of this post

While I can certainly understand getting not so good players on my team during ques I hadn’t realized we as a pvp community got to the point where we started assuming the target player may or may not be decent because they aren’t flashing a pvp title which pretty much can be grinded to a certain extent or were not repping a guild as both guild tags and titles can be made hidden via player choice while also keeping in mind having a pvp title doesn’t make a player good subjectively nor having a guild make them that much better which goes to that saying don’t judge a book by its cover in general a bad player is exactly that regardless of tag or title
