I love using my hope pistols on both thief and engie (nobody use it as mesmer, lol)… but no new class with pistols in the expansion would be a complete disapointment. With that knowledge, not so sure I would have made one today.

Yeah this is what I’m talking about. Pistols are so so right now. Okay I can deal with that. But no new class getting pistols will push pistols even further back. Shame cause HOPE is by far my fav legendary.

My Thief uses pistols in PvE. You start a fight with mad damage using Unload until your initiative is drained.

It’s not the meta build for pve fractals/raids but open world sure u can do whatever u want.

When it comes to meta though pistols are not even close to being viable most of the times

I’m a big fan of pistols and been sitting on the mats for HOPE for some time now.
However. I feel like pistols have such a big niche in this game that I’m in a twist on wether to finish it. Every class that uses a pistol uses it mostly as a niche. Except for pve engi and pvp thief
Further with the leak of the supposed new weapon sets and specs. I see pistols falling even further down the drain. However we can’t be sure since these are not offical releases.

I’d like to hear what other people think about this.

Scrapper is okayish – for WvW zerg play. With hammer – bulwark gyro – tool kit – x – Sneaky Gyro or Turret elite
You’re able to provide cc with Thunderclap. Reflects and dmg reduction with bulwark and a single target pull with tool kit. Sneaky gyro to ress downed or turret elite on their backline for a stun.

Main thing here is that gyro’s get cleaved out REALLY fast so u have to know when to use them.

U won’t be able to frontline though even if you go full tank you will have a hard time seeing as u just dont have the cd’s or base armor for it. You should swirl around and through the melee train try pull someone into your zerg and move of to the side and put pressure on casters or lone targets.

Engineer roaming is still as good as it used to be. Small scale is still where engi is the best.

This has probably been discussed before but I was wondering if there was any Dev comments about the legendary shield and it throwing a wooden buckler instead of the legendary on skill 5 for engineer.

As soon as PvPers can grind the Carapace armor set by afking in a PvE Hotjoin then sure.

Necro being the weakest PvE class atm its because we dont have any reflect and we provide almost no usefull party wide utilities.

To stay in the necro’s state of mind that Anet has. I think what Gyler suggested is a really good way to go. Make us necro’s the ones that can give party wide life steal. But what we have now is too weak to use. It would be a nice unique mechanic.

Will these armor sets ever be available to us? As someone who has no intention of doing this PvE stuff but would like to have the armors.

When I first joined the game I played a Ranger. They simply don’t do the damage they should compared to bows in real life. As a person who practices archery the whole bow system is simply unrealistic and doesn’t reflect on the reality of the devastation an arrow really is.

Please tell me more how your RL experience should have anything to do with an fantasy based MMO.

And if you don’t think your ranger could do enough damage with Longbow I presume?

Personally I have Frostfang and Incinerator atm for my ranger. Going for bolt or howler after.

I never used RaO as the source of my stability. and I will be using the signet for stab if I feel like I need stab (depends on what build bla bla).

The CC capability is amazing for bombing in wvw. However. I still think that in the cleave damage the roots will get destroyed so quickely.

So! Entangle is getting some work done. Generally speaking it’s a really nice change. With the cooldown it will give us some space to work with elite activated rune bonusses.

The time stuck in the roots and the damage will be matched with the cooldown. Think the root was 5 seconds? (correct me if im wrong). Don’t think there is anything known about the damage.

Now this is really sweet on paper. But there is one thing holding it back from becoming the real tool we want it to be in especially WvW, and also a bit of PvP.

-People can still AA their way out of the roots.

Tbh that’s a fundemental ’’flaw’’ and an easy way to fully negate an elite.

Now with the changes to it the flaw will be toned down a little since it’s only 5 seconds of root. But for WvW the cleave damage of the zergs will still negate this elite entirely.

I begger to differ on the might output. You can keep perma might uptime without running battle sigil. Combined with sigil of battle you will have 6-8 stacks of might stable through fights.

And you might stay above 90% health if there is a 40 man melee train to guard you. But im speaking in terms of more organized guild raids. I think ferocity indeed is nice but I have my doubts on maintaining that DMG modifier

I wanted to start a discussion on rune sets for Staff Ele’s.
Just curious what people think about what the ’’best’’ rune is for dps Staff Ele.

Atm viable choices there are atm are:

-Strenght Runes
-Eagle Runes
-Scholar Runes

Now these are the 3 main runes that are probably being used with Strenght obviously being the favorite these days and probably the best choice. I still would like to hear people’s opinions.

An unconventional rune I looked at was Infiltration runes.

I use my staff for GvG’s, Raids, Duels, PvP, Roaming.

U just have to know how to handle it and how to build it.

Perplexity has been labelled ’’cheese’’ for being a cheesey rune.

I wasn’’t really talking about WvW or PvE specifically. Just in general.

What would be the best option DPS wise?
I’ve heard some people say assasins > berserker atm.

So now with ascended armor you can swap it between toons! Awesome!
But let’s say you have 1 Asura ele, and 1 sylvari ele. And you wan’t to change your gear. But if you have cultural armor on any of the pieces you will have to first transmute it back to a normal piece before you can put it on your Sylvari, and if you want cultural armor on your sylvari you will have to transmute it again. So that will take 2 stones per piece.

Is this intended or? Obviously it shouldn’t be possible to wear asura cultural on a sylvari but now you have to use 2 charges for it.

PvP’ers actually want to be in HoM to change their builds, test on gollems and talk to other PvPers there. Therefor your argument is invalid Khani.

I guess for the bags you can yeah. the 20 slot ones are like 15 gold though so thats another story.

And yes it’s to diffucult to come from a match, loading into HoM, then loading in to Vigil Keep which takes pretty long most of the time because of the high population. And then load back.

Now with the new reward system there is lots of stuff we can’t deposit in to the pvp locker. There is a problem because a lot of new players with small bags can’t get any bags out of pvp and they have to leave HoM to go to there bank?

So #1. Will there be any bags available in PvP again?

#2. Will there be any future bank in HoM?

My story:

Match was really close and we were gonna lose it because enemy had 2 cap.
Me being awesome at rotations went to cap our close back. Once I decapped a wild ranger appeared. I used my cc and tornado to fully cap it and let someone else kill it.

At this point the score was 485 to 490. Still losing but equal in caps. Me being awesome at rotations went to a free mid cap. But once again after I decapped a wild necro appeared. Once again using my cc and pushbacks I managed to get this point.
The score was coming around and it was 495 to 495. I went down on point and they were gonna stomp me for the win. Thank god for mistform…. HEUEUU. And our 2cap won us the game during mistform :p

Churning Earth in a 1vs1 can force out a dodge.

Now in all seriousness. Churning Earth is a good skill but it requires experience to land. You can land it in zergs, in pvp without wasting any cd’s for it.

However the suggestion making it charged is good. I wouldn’t change anything else about it.

To make it less useless it would be enough to:
- add protection when channeling
- always hit when blind
- hit through Aegis

I have a legendary that I mostly just use for the stat chance and slight increase of stats.

Would it be possible to change the skin with the current system and not destroying the items legendary status?

2. Gem store fix.
3. Trading post fix.
4. Sell your stuff fix.
5. Currency exchange fix.

I am getting very very frustrated about the Gem Store, Trading post not working. I can’t do anything and I keep having to ask friends to buy the stuff I need. After the bugfix topic. My TP has worked for maybe 3 hours. I’ve tried the bugfix over and over again it’s not working.

It’s coming to the point that I will unleash into a super sayan rage mode. Mac Beta Client Tech Support guys. I appreciate the work you are doing and keeping an eye out for us. But you must understand that this is really frustrating.
