Dear ArenaNet,
the server (with the following IP address: 206.127.159.91:0 from the ingame) seems broken.
It took me about 4 mins to get in the map of Siren’s Landing
Unable to use the skills.
Cause Map-Chat lag and can’t interact everything.
Seeing ppl running away from me. #foreveralone
My friend experienced the same issue.
1. Shadows having a blocky or corrupted looking appearance.
2. Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 (Geforce 378.49 WHQL)
3. Harathi Hinterlands
I spoke with the engineer who put in the fix: out of an abundance of caution the fix was limited to 1080 cards only. If possible, we’re going to try to expand the fix to the entire 10 series cards.
In the meantime, we’d like to try an experiment with those who are still experiencing the shadow flickering related issues: try rolling back your graphics drivers.
I can’t rollback the graphic drivers because i had the same issue since the release of Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 with all of released WHQL drivers from Nvidia website.
Hmmmm… Garrus…
I’ll try the steam client now. One moment.
EDIT:
Same effect with Steam Client.

Not confirmed. The Light/Shadow blocks Issue still exist like the previous screenshot i posted before…
I encountered that similar one related to lighting but with shadows.

I had purchased the Bauble Tote Bag in the past that i can carry 750 baubles max… so… if i want to get more, i’ll put it in my bank or exchange to bauble bubble.
Thank you!

Hello Community,
i’ve a problem.
I gathered a bunch of baubles in World 1 – Zone 1 and Zone 2 only for ONE run. I had about 90 baubles at beginning of Zone 1 and around 760 baubles at the end after finishing Zone 2…
I’m surprised why i can’t gather more during World 1 – Zone 3. That was happened yesterday too.
Wasn’t that a kind of protection or anti loot system was kicked in before?!
Regards,
MordekaiZeyo
I’ve the same problem.
ASUS Geforce GTX 1070 STRIX Gaming (not overclocked)
I’ve the same problem. It must be the new offers in the Gem Shop that was caused the issue. The old offers was worked fine before. The game crashed every time as i opened the trading post window with the CoherentUI.dll* error message.

Hello ArenaNet.
My friends and me have encountered some issues with the servers.
Guild chat lags
Trading post lags
Some of my friends are getting the error message that they cannot connect to the server in game.
Even the log in to the official GW2 is too long.
Please check your servers. They have some hiccups somehow.

The charr has some scaling issues with the Sport Sunglasses that they won’t scale on their faces.
The Race is Charr, all gender, all faces types, all professions.

The old screenshot is true that should looks like while the latest screenshot doesn’t.
~Zeyo
Hello,
I have to report a bug here in forum because it wasn’t happened from the past as i reported this via ingame bug report.
The main problem was the scaling issue with the Sport Sunglasses on charr faces.
The old screenshot should looks like and it’s correct while the latest doesn’t.
Race: Charr
Gender: both (tested on everywhere)
Profession: all (had tested on my many alts)

I’ve encountered a bug about between treasury npc window and the guild window (Tab: History) in the Guild Hall. It will cause a heavy video lag.
This bug should be marked as Critical because the application might get freeze.
I forgot to make a screenshot about 11.5 gig at the end of HoT update. No magic…
@Acheron
That’s okay that you have a correct download size between your router and the launcher.
Not every ppl have this problem.
Mine still doesn’t (see attachment). My router says about 12 GB and it’s still different from Launcher.
But it’s still weird tho.
Some translation for the attachment:

Gestern = Yesterday
gesamt = total
gesendet = sent

Datenvolumen = data volume
Hello,
I’ve encountered a bug that the launcher gives wrong download information.
Many reason why other people saw in the launcher that stays 0 Kbyte/sec, exaggerated speed (higher than your actual download speed), sometimes it won’t show up and you think that the download was interrupted.
All of three… the download is STILL running in the background.
How to reproduce the bug:
Please open the Task Manager before to start updating GW2
-> go to Tab: Network (Windows 7 and older) and check the current network usage.
-> Tab Performance (Windows 8 and newer) -> Ethernet (depends which connection is connected to the router) then right click on the graphs “show network details”. The window will pop up and it shows how many bytes was sent or received.
Start GW2.exe to begin the HoT update and you will see this in a few hours.
I have a screenshot and it’s clearly visible that the Task Manager have way more bytes sent/received than the indicated values in GW2 launcher.
The HoT update is about 11.5 GB big (may be vary by the language) than about 6 GB in GW2 launcher (I left my PC turned on during the night before i went to sleep)
So… dear Anet. Please fix the bug asap.
Regards,
Zeyo

Dear ArenaNet,
we have to say that the connection optimizations went very badly since…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Latency-Tuning-Experiments/page/2#post5511603
… a dev had created a thread about this and takes some changes without to get notificated with us before (the players).
And no new recent informations by Mike so far.
Reasons:
Very bad latency/huge lag spikes
Disconnections
and more connection issues
Secretly swapped the Nodes/Backbones from Telia to Level 3 or such.
Now it’s enough for the kittening kitten! We can barely play the game during the peak times.
Only Guild Wars 2 have the problem, all of my other games have not.
We want to hear about from you, Anet! THIS ISN’T FUNNY!
Regards,
Zeyo
The latency was around 40-60ms before that i had Telia as Internet nodes in Frankfurt.
Now…
mostly way higher than 200-3000ms including enormously skill lag with the Level 3 as Internet Nodes in Frankfurt.
I am very disappointed and angry at the same time. They have to told us before to take an action on latency tuning experiments. But the Devs didn’t. Well done. WE ARE NOT MARIONETTES because we are not on a beta servers and such.
EDIT:
Btw… if you want to improve it… then please tell us what we can do something with the latency tuning experiments.
(edited by MordekaiZeyo.7318)
Lagging REALLY badly? It might be Level3.

ISP: Deutsche Telekom AG
The level 3 nodes are the worst and should be on the black list. It’s so horrible that i’ve the constant high ping and heavy lags in Germany to play Guild Wars 2.
I WANT TELIA BACK!
I can log in for now… o.o
I can’t log in since the early morning. Permanent connection error.
Btw… it’s 03:35 AM in Washington… so they’re sleeping atm.
The servers are dead. I can’t log in through the launcher flawlessy… slow loading during the character selection and stuck in the loading screen permantely. Even the Forum is extremely slow. I am sure… the cause are the Anet servers, not my ISP.
I see nothing news about the posts from the Devs than Reddit one.
Well… we shall continue to talk about 64 bit client to the thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/64-bit-client/first
Please keep Cesarking’s Thread clean. ^^
@Topic
I see… he is using Windows 7 32bit with 8 GB RAM. THat’s the problem…
@Inculpatus cedo
You are wrong, he is using Windows 64 bit. The main problem was the Memory address that cannot be read. Not Out of Memory.
I can confirm the bugged trait Symbolic Avenger. It just stacks from other players that adds an extreme damage increase against Tequatl etc. I had about 80k dmg per hit with my hammer guardian.
Some ppl reported the damage for about 275k dmg with GS Skill 2.
But this works only if there are enought guardians… at least 5 in group with the activated Symbolic Avengers + the elite skill for quickness and hammer for symbols while auto attacking. Or more with some different guardians builds that’s used with Symbolic Avengers or not.
It’s very harmful for WvW because the gates etc are melting down very fast by the big invasion of guardians without to use any siege weaponry and such.
The bug needs to be investigated by ArenaNet.
Not bad. I want these charr clothes for the town.
We had town clothes from a long time ago but ArenaNet removed it without to say any reason. We want the “town clothes” tab back!
Unfortunately it seems it’s not as easy as DX12/64-bit to solve GW2’s performance issues.
Here is a post an engine programmer made on the GW2 subreddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3ajnso/bad_optimalization_in_gw2/csdnn3n
The problem is apparently not something that can be solved by APIs, but by the lower-level code itself. It was not programmed to work in parallel, so even if you make it multithreaded, those different threads all try to access the same data at once, and have to wait their turn.
One thing that stood out to me though, was that the developer said the main stack is the bottleneck. This doesn’t line up with the story about the different threads having to queue for memory access. I am wondering if, despite this developer’s claims, DX12 would relieve the main stack bottleneck by reducing the impact of the rendering stack/draw calls. But I am not a programmer, I am just speculating there.
A good speculation.
That’s DirectX 12 what you are talked about approximately… the rendering stack are spreaded from single cpu core to multi core to reduce the latency and increases the maximum possibly amount of draw calls per sec. (depends on which CPU and GPU model are used). The GPU have not to wait for the CPU.
I have attached a screenshot from 3DMark Advanced Edition with Windows 10.
I had noticed a very huge FPS improvement at the beginning of a scene during the test.
DirectX 11 was mostly less than 80 FPS while DirectX12 exploded the 300 FPS barrier.
There is no DirectX9 test sadly. I think it’s lesser than DirectX 11.
Guild Wars 2 during World Bosses/WvW uses a lot of draw calls per sec that can not be solved with DirectX9.0c due of single threaded utilization. DirectX 11 Multi threading would help but the biggest impact is DirectX12.
Would be long time that we get this. Every modern computer can choose how he is running things. Low machines running 32 Bit and DX9 and powermachines 64 BIT with DX12. That should not really a big problem.
Its a problem for me cuz my pc can run max dx 11 and there is almost none dx 12 games so it should be a big problem…
DX11 cards can support a lot of the DX12 API. There are already benches with the CPU load aspect on DX12 using DX11 based cards. So no, its not really a problem.
Thats interesting but im not touching win10 in its current state. mostly cuz of bugs but also cuz of the weird privacy policy.
I have a friend who uinstalled after a plethora of bluescreens.
Friend’s pc problem, not Windows 10.
I would say…. DirectX9 for users with legacy hardware, DirectX11 for everyone and DirectX12 for Windows 10 users with supported graphic card…
It would be great to see the 64bit client for Guild Wars 2. I really want to play this game on ultra graphic settings without to have some “OutOfMemory”-Crashes
Btw… do not forget about DirectX11 and DirectX12 for better performance…. DirectX 12 is the future!
It’s very hurtful to my heart in combination with my very slow internet connection… 25GB for about 30 hours…
I tried all alternative ip adress from the thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Connection-error-s-detected-Retrying-100/5016682
and no success.
There is my own log:

Hello,
i had noticed that the launcher won’t download the files and got stuck it at about one percent but it’s still downloading in the background (Task Manager)
I had investigated the bug from yesterday that the download counters in client are really a fake because the Task Manager shows more than the launcher. (see attachment, i restarted the client and resetted the network counter at the same time and you’ll see any difference.)
I had tried it to repair the GW2 files but this didn’t helped so much. The previous update was flawless.
ISP: Telekom
Speed: 2Mbit (256KByte/sec)
P.S.: I was raged out from the last night because it never worked to download the update successfully. I have a very slow internet connection and it’s still downloading in the background due of the unlisted/hidden files. I am so mad and had wasted more than 3 hours.
In the early morning, the launcher is stuck at 1% again and still downloading unlisted/hidden files in background (Task Manager Network Tab).
What now?
Regards,
Zeyo
Hello Community and Anet,
I had my old Logitech G500 and was really worn out due of tons of clicking on alcohol drinks for the achievement and raising magic finds with Essence of Lucks. Now i have my Logitech G500s and i won’t see this again for more thousands of clicking.
Two new options “Use all” and “Use amount” should be added to this game. This will prevent tons of clicking (including macros), saves a lot of time and very friendly to all mices.
A little message will pop out as you clicked on “Use all”. It’s a safety that you have to confirm it again if you want to use the whole stack of Essence of Luck (as example).
For “Use amount” will pop up a little window, how many pieces do you want to use at only one time. A confirmation is required.
How are your opinions about my idea?
Greeting,
Zeyo
Hello,
i have encountered a bug that some sound effects got stuck in an infinite sound loop and cause to decrease the overall performance notably. It’s impossible to turn off the sound effect, fully broken.
Server: Elona Reach (Ger)
Location: Snowden Drift
Language: English (Audio and Text)… German wasn’t affected to this bug than i though.
That was happened after escorting Quaggan to the Koda’s shore at southeast. We had a big zerg around to fight against the mobs underwater. I went out of the water and the sound effects got stuck in an infinite loop but i still don’t know how exactly was caused this bug. So i want to restart the client… just freezes and had to close this application via task manager… so no crash log in Arenanet.log.
About the performance… it just decreases down to 11 Fps… then to about 8 Fps while the Zerg are nearby to me. CPU usage around 20% and the GPU is really tired…. 5%.
System:
Intel Core i7 3770
16 GB DDR3-1600 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5
Asus Xonar D2X PCIe
Samsung 830 SSD.
(Not overclocked)
Btw… we need more ppl to reproduce the bug. I am sure… i am not the only one.
That’s why ArenaNet (Guild Wars 2) wrote a post on Facebook:

For those of you who have been asking about DX11 support for Guild Wars 2, our goal with GW2 has always been to provide a gorgeous fantasy world while at the same time running on a wide range of gaming PCs.
Focusing on DX9 allows us to do this, as it’s a much wider supported graphics API than DX11 is and we wanted our game to reach as many of our fans as possible.
We will be evaluating supporting DX11 post launch. ~RB2 (Rubi)
I was always interested DirectX 11 for this game but the hope is gone. The performance during Zerg is incredibly worse etc…
The last section from Facebook was never happened during the time.
Now… DirectX 12… we really need this.
It would be great for Guild Wars 2 and the problem about very low frame rate is solved.

That was happened in Guild Wars 1 as the new expansion came. → one or two new free character slot.
Hello folks,
i’ve found out that the one specific game server is purely offline. That’s the reason why you got the error message before the game closes and returned back to the launcher.
