The amount of people that have never had a basics economics course is so evident in this thread and in game.

Increased DR = increased supply, increased supply = less demand = lower overall prices

They didn’t up DR as a “kind” gesture, they did it to kill the ToT money making market. These effects will certainly be seen over the off season where ToT bags can no longer climb in price before next Halloween because there will be a large enough supply that ToT prices will likely continue to be steady. Anyone who knows how to make money knows, dumping supply in the late off season produces the most money, as opposed to dumping it now while supply still exists. Most people don’t think about it long enough to care, but DR has kept several TP markets afloat and profitable for years, when you let large supplies flood the market, it just means less profitability over time.

At some point in time, prices will bottom and you will be making the same amount of money for selling more product, instead of the exact opposite. For those that sit in their basement, google oil market and WSJ, and then look at why it was a major deal for OPEC to put a cap (GW2 Version, DR) on production.

I don’t really care if you close servers to try and “balance” it yourself despite the fact server linking is a terrible answer, but please…if you’re going to do so.. LET US KNOW AHEAD OF TIME….so that a number of my guildies aren’t stuck listening in on our coms instead of having fun with us in WvW….ridiculous

This thread is pretty funny. Jade Quarry has been struggling for a very long time. They’ve ALWAYS had a NA problem and it DOES have to do with the servers leadership. JQ could never hold NA..they probably bought more NA guilds than any other server in this game but they never stay.

If anyone has ever actually looked at the JQ forums, it’s predominately a bunch of old fossils that haven’t even logged into the game in months, still making input, still acting like hot kitten too, despite the fact that they either never were relevant, or they were, years ago. Too bad no one would bother this late in the game to force the old farts to accept retirement.

I could care less that you could sell Trib runs to people, that isn’t the issue and shouldn’t even be at this point, it’s the fact you have to exploit to sell in the first place that’s more irritating than anything, and it bugs the hell out of me anet condones it. A week and a half ago I was the happiest I had been on this game since the last time SAB came out, and now it’s just turned into me being annoyed once again by Anet and getting the SAB skins in a legit manner has absolutely no value anymore. I mean ya you can say Anet said it’s ok so its not an exploit, and that is a load of garbage. It’s like saying oh, well Mommy said its ok, but its still wrong to punch little Timmy.

Like I said before, if it was intended people could join your party, I would not care people can just buy their achievements for the bland infusions. It’s the fact that I sit here and play a game that i constantly hate those that made the game in the first place because of inconsistent and pathetic decisions.

I could sit here and continue to farm the skins legitly, but even if I so proudly display any of these skins, it just bugs the hell out of me that i know random people and even friends will just notice the skins and say, ah, he probably exploited for those skins/infusions anyway or question if i exploited it or not since that’s what most of them are doing anyway, just like any one person does when they see The Eternal title and go “ya know, they just bought the title anyway.”

I love SAB, but man…these last few days trying to wrap up the last few remaining skins in SAB has made me realize I’m just as likely to stop logging in again when I get them as I was before SAB even came back and then question why I even bothered to play beyond the initial first weekend of SAB considering how pointless all this effort is…I never even thought I would ever think like this either in regards to SAB, and I always said, if they can somehow, someway, screw up SAB for me, then there is absolutely no hope left in this game.

According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.

I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.

I just wanna quote this because I think there’s a lot of people out there that missed this post. Colin made a reddit post stating the same thing last summer. Shaman data mines SAB sprites every few months, it’s still at least in some way, being worked on. But it’s quite obvious it’s not a main agenda thing…rule of thumb, if it’s April 1st and SAB isn’t out, it’s not coming this year.

In all likelyhood, Gaile’s post was to promote SAB to gear up for yet another April 1st gemstore update with SAB minis to generate money…nothing wrong with marketing…I can live with that.

But to throw my 2 cents in, again, telling people that their argument about the infinite coin is “moot” because they have a use for it “in the future” is the same kind of public relations mentality that killed WvW in this game. Bear in mind, I am one of the few that did think they got far more than their money’s worth out of this coin…so I’m a neutral party in that argument.

Considering they’ve been passing it off since 2013 in the same manner (First it was until LS was over, then it became until HoT was over), I would not expect any less than the statement I just made up.

I agree though, it’s become a casual’s paradise and has been for a very long time, which ultimately leads to many people coming and going at the same time. Dungeons to me are nothing more than just time wasters used to farm money, I used to be a big PvE person, but have since changed to WvW with focus on GvG..because let’s face it, at this point, the only challenging things about this game are player created challenges.

Also, easy grinds can’t really be considered “challenges”, so dungeon armor, nor glorious armor really count as prestigious armor, because you can basically suck really bad at PvP, or PvE for that matter, and still fill your reward track progress pretty easily just by playing PvP all week or farm dungeon tokens all day by playing the easy paths and avoiding the harder paths.

Only a couple things i would have ever considered prestigious in this game is the Liadri minipet before the rerelease…because the Liadri fight was actually challenging before rerelease. The other is SAB tribulation mode skins, particularly W2 Yellow skins (while you could just cheat and use a video guide, it still wasn’t easy and I don’t consider it a grind like the dungeon skins because there is no being team carried to get them, you have to be able to actually do it yourself….)…..which who knows how easy that will be upon rerelease.

Glad we got a real response this time, sad to know that basically with that statement, SAB more than likely won’t see a return for a very long time, it’s a plausible reason, a big reason, but I’m just not totally convinced it’s the whole truth either. Given how much time passed that they basically just scrapped SAB to the side to work on everything else, it really would not surprise me in the least if they continued to say the same. SAB was a side project, and it seems the physics part is a really annoying thing to deal with especially given it was a very small side project. Even after the next release, World 4 could be many more years later if they have to keep recoding and working everything to work again.

Though the tidbit about suggesting the entire studio is working on this xpack hopefully suggests theres far more to HoT than what has been mentioned

I just find it quite funny that people scream and shout about equality, to be treated just like everyone else, but want to flaunt representative barriers because they so badly desire to be different from everyone else.

My time in the GvG scene for the vast majority of 2014 was probably among the most fun of my gw2 tenure….I really cannot think of any other period during GW2 that I loved more than that, and i know a supported GvG scene would be among the best decisions anet will have ever made. Winning rounds you would think would be impossible otherwise, or come from behind wins for the take home, nothing beats that feeling. Although I feel like it’ll continue to fall on deaf ears, I support this 100 times over.

I don’t really have a problem anymore, but I never pug without atleast a friend or two for the reason mentioned, it’s happened before and I never understood why we couldn’t have party leaders for dungeons. We’ll just keep spreading the false news that the gw2 community is the friendliest and everyone wants to train lvl 40s to do AC for the first time every daily run or perhaps a lvl 80 who wants to bring in their friend or two who are spec’d horribly and can’t read the message that says the group is a speed run group.

I used to love GW1 pugging with people for speed runs and just to screw around in general, when you had party structure, GW2 has just made me a very excluding person.

Shaman said things for SAB came out in the DAT about a month before back to school….perhaps it’s sooner than I actually thought, or…perhaps not….never really know

I actually bought GW2 during the last sale hoping that the “retro dungeon thing” I saw was a permanent thing. I was really disappointed until my buddy said he watched an Angry Joe interview with anet where they claimed “Players won’t have to wait much longer(for the super adventure box)”. I figured I would bide my time until April Fools, but instead of SAB we got airplane mode that I couldn’t even turn off. I ended up playing for all of 5 minutes yesterday. It’s cute for a couple minutes but got old really fast.

If your friend was referring to the Angry Joe interview from a month ago, not so. It was the basic answer that’s been said for half a year “We’ll release it when we feel it’s the right time”.

I think that’s the biggest issue, that you get information one month, but you won’t get anything else for months later, they say they will get back to you when they have something meaningful, but when you look at the forums and see only a handful of threads with dev responses in them, and they just say, oh hey yeah we read every thread, but we just don’t have “time” to respond to everything. I just think that’s a failure of a PR department. I bet someone in the department’s job description has been expanded to include closing every topic that goes against forum policies, but, I would say an astonishing 75% of closed threads wouldn’t have been made if they made update posts on topics more than once every half year.

But you know, I’ve always wondered how much the devs that read these threads sit there and go “Man these guys are funny, honestly expecting something….hey bossman! Maybe we should make a post stating this isn’t happening, because they really are getting their hopes up. Na, it’s been a long day, I need a good laugh…”

Bottom line: Even a post saying hey we’re here, is better than looking at forums and seeing a max of 5 threads every like 40 threads with dev responses, with 3 of the 5 threads at least a year old.

But like I said, people measure value in different ways, what I see as a good deal, many others don’t, and vice versa.

I agree that you got value for it, but you are not the norm. You had a lot of free time, bought the coin specifically to farm, and actually farmed.

A lot of us didn’t have that much time, didn’t buy it just to farm, and didn’t farm. We bought it because we wanted to play SAB as much as we wanted when it was around, under the justified assumption that it would actually be around.

In short, I would not have bought the coin had I known that this was going to be the functionality it offered.

Someone referenced it earlier, but there was an interview almost a month ago with Colin, the interviewer brought up SAB, and it was pretty much the same thing as was what Gaile said in this thread 6 months ago. So as far as i can tell, nothings really changed on SAB’s status in the last half year, and may not for the next half year either. Which does suck, because I’m starting to wonder what exactly we get to look forward to before HoT…for the last 2 months I’ve literally done nothing but log in for dailies…maybe screw around in WvW for like 30minutes some nights, and just log off….just immensely boring now.

So technically, it’s already the “future” that Gaile mentioned also. So it wasn’t totally outside the range of possibilty that it could have came out today.

I honestly wasn’t expecting a SAB this time around either, but I do agree the SAB minis was a nasty tease. Thought it was fun to hang out with about 6-7 devs through the course of the day today in Rata though.

I was immensely disappointed following that interview, but after stumbling upon this thread, I’ve lit up like a Christmas tree. Perhaps between now and the expansion release, we might even see another SAB release…perhaps…another April Fools release date?

I think some people in this thread got it right, there’s two main reasons T1 bleeds players. GW2 is getting older, people are leaving..bound to happen. And the other reason, the blobfest/nuthugging. Only one of these is plausibly fixable by players, but some people cannot see that that type of gameplay is the reason why it’s dying to begin with.
Having been nomading around the last few months, as well as after S2, I can see why many people want to leave T1, in either favor of a new game, or a new tier with different play styles.

It’s not that easy and still extremely annoying. I think I blew through 25 times on my warrior just now. It’s still a highly variable and not really skill based. It’s just luck of the draw and build based.

If you’re just going for a simple Liadri kill, depending on how long it takes to kill her it relatively is the same…however, rifts don’t always spawn in the same spot nor do they have a set time before they pull you in, I’ve had a rift spawn and about 2 seconds later pull me in, I’ve also had rifts spawn and pull me in 5 seconds or more later.

For someone going for the 8 orbs as well, it is pretty much based on luck depending on on what I mentioned above…because if they spawn in an area further away from a light portal, it makes it that much harder to kite the visions into them. Especially if you’re trying to kite at least 2 into a portal at the same time to quickly have 8 orbs and have plenty of time to kill her.

I didn’t find it terrible at all, but as pointed out earlier, Scarlet can just waltz into LA with a gigantic drill floating in the sky, but Zhaitan could only get as far as Claw Island?

As for the council bit, I could be wrong, but I don’t recall the Pact needing any sort of permission to act during the Zhaitan phase, even though the council controls the Lionguard it just goes back to once again, what are they doing this whole time?

If I had to criticize LS 1, it would probably be that it feels immensely far fetched given the Zhaitan arc + backstory of the 250 years following GW1…not only that but it seems anti climatic that the seemingly real reason why Scarlet was able to destroy LA was because of a lack of agreement.

Whether Anet really wanted to just show the gaming world they are willing to destroy a major central hub to it’s game or not, I think they shot themselves in the foot with personal story. Orr hasn’t changed at all, and since the summer, Southsun is still the same aswell.

I like the idea of an ever changing world, but to make it all flow smoothly and realistically (as per their stated goal when this whole thing began) you can’t just focus on one story, and ignore other stories that despite being toned down, are still going on (Orr being cleared of undead, attempts at making Southsun a resort…)

I look forward to the next session though, but kinda questioning whether or not we’ll ever see all the Elder Dragons…unless Anet plans on GW2 having the longevity WoW has experienced, this pace is kinda slow.

Even though it is free content, Anet’s extensive overhype since Christmas of the last 4 updates + 6 weeks of added time devoted to development is their own fault. Regardless of whether or not your paying for the content directly it’s still a negative reflection to the consumers if you cannot deliver on time. I think the key with this particular update was the tweet an hour before stating it would be up. I don’t mind whether it’s up or not, since I’ve been enjoyed the new BF4 stuff on PC while I wait out the storm. But I think it’s stupid to use the “it’s free content” to bail developers out of a delayed launch of content, and then use it to bash others for being impatient.

Think a lot of people didn’t heed the “take it with a grain of salt” warning when the results were posted. As someone pointed out earlier on the thread on gw2wvw, it’s very possible that some voted for a few guilds, and left the others as they were, considering that the vast majority are within 1-2 slots of how they were default ranked before the voter proceeds to reorder.

Also that poll was only up for what? All of a day?

Anyone who has ever watched millennium during SEA hours knows for a fact BG runs a massive map hopping blob that goes after one or two BLs at a time. If you’re so bent over backwards about it, tell Tarkus to split his zerg up, but that will never happen, because BG only map blobs. Here’s a better idea, don’t take numbers out of EB and pour them into the BLs leaving EB open for the taking.

It’s like you’ve never played in T1 before, as much as BG wants it, there’s no such thing as 24/7 coverages. Every server will have a weak point, your like a spoiled child that’s not happy with what he’s got and wants to point it out in every other forum thread. T2 servers don’t have any coverage that comes close to matching BG’s or JQ’s, if anyone deserves the coverage, it’s them.

I don’t think your OCX guilds were playing EotM while you were ticking for 600. Look at millennium, the score was within 200 when EotM came out. By the week’s end BG was winning by 15k. BG did not play EotM. I’ll also note that before Karma training started Thursday, BG was up by almost 30k. Just for reference.

SoR’s still playing EotM. So naturally, all their stuff is PvD, BG holds their garri, and EB’s been back and forth since reset.

I don’t think you have noticed, but people are still playing EotM. But please, tell me more on how JQ’s overstacked and ticking unbelievable numbers but lost 14 of the last 15 weeks. It’s a timezone, our EU sucks and has since forever, can I now proceed to QQ all over forums about it like you?

The point of my post is to refute some of the rumors spread by other players about how BG cannot stop recruiting even when we are winning, the fact is we did stop recruiting and actually turned guild(s) away when we could. I am not claiming we stopped recruiting for some really noble reason or anything. Like any self-interested server, we recruit when we feel we have a weakness against our competitors and stop recruiting when there is a chance for over-stacking and driving away competition. Above all, the game is only fun when there is a semi-competitive tier while the server is competitive itself.

So far all of what you guys have amounted to is saying that you turn away guilds when you win, but when you don’t win it’s entirely justified to recruit more, which in that exact same forum post full of garbage, a couple BG were hanging nails on the fact JQ picked up SoX/XPK and a OCE guild while complaining about imbalance in the other tiers, one of them even complaining about how BG can’t compete anymore in OCE, let alone the other tiers, but you know, of those people from BG in that post that complained about our xfers, they never once suggested that some from BG should move on to.

My point, and it doesn’t necessarily refer to you or Seigfried, is that these “false rumors” get responded with more “false rumors”, that’s how this has worked since HoD days, and it’ll continue to work until this game is dead.

I consider recent equaling to after league ended, not during it. November 22nd was also part of week vs JQ which was the 5th week. It wasn’t the end of it.

Since League BG has been Full, at least since Christmas break. You can blame it on PvErs or whatever, but don’t go around like saints saying you turn away guilds when your a Full server and can’t xfer anyone over to begin with.

Colour is no longer place-dependant. It hasn’t been for like half a year now.

Hence red teams generally are, as opposed to red teams are.

I’ve participated in taking the Red Keep many times already, it just depends, it really isn’t hard to kill the elites although I do agree it’s a bit stupid that one keep is harder to cap than the rest.

I don’t know how hard Blue Keep is to cap and probably won’t for a while, T1 is stagnant in terms of colors, it’ll be a while before I can experience that.

Green Keep isn’t hard to cap either, but truthfully I haven’t really been on any OF maps in which the green team really defended their keep yet, which is kind of weird.

Out of all the Keeps, Red Keep is the most stunning in terms of environment, think they did a good job with that one.

As for your question I’m more inclined to agree with what Durzlla said, but I doubt the Reactor Fractal we see now is exactly the same as the idea that was tossed around back in the summer. So even if a dev were to truthfully answer your question, it probably wouldn’t be that satisfying anyway, although I still want a Abbadon fractal though :|
