I have currently a Deluxe edition, bought at pre-launch, i didn’t buy those legacy skins (Primeval, Krytan, Profane) from the gem store back then and mostly stopped playing.
Then i’ve discovered they made the heroic edition which included one of the 3 armors.
Now i’d like to get those armors, at least the primeval, but what are my options?
Burn 2000 gems on a heroic edition upgrade from the gem store? (considering my deluxe ed. is the same but only misses the armor and was paid back then 75€)
Wait and see if they are going to be re-released for a timed sale?
I did a couple of zones and got no reward.
So you want to tell me i should farm blindly, and then hopes that maybe i’ll receive something that will be adequate for what i’ve done…
Well this sounds pretty bad, since the bug is generalized wouldn’t be better to stop the event, fix the bug and restart it later?
Hi,
I wanted to buy the 3 harvesting tools (1 for each kind) but I’ve just made a mistake and bought accidentally the Tireless Harvesting Minion instead of the Tireless Logging Minion, after i did already purchase the Fused Molten Sickle.
I logged off immediately and already contacted the support to ask if the item (Tireless Harvesting Minion) could be changed to the one i wanted to buy (Tireless Logging Minion), but since they are a time limited offer and i could receive a negative answer after the offer will be decayed i’d like to know from experience of others players (or a well informed mod/dev/support) what is likely to happen from the policies applied to gem purchased items, so i can decide if to waste some more money for the gems to buy the item i already wanted to buy in time before the offer will effectively decay (and i don’t know this date), or if i can wait in hope for the support to answer me and change the item for me.
I miss from this game for nearly 2 years so i’m not well informed on policies and what is going on, i just wanted to start again after i heard the news of the rumoured expansion.

no, and i’d even like the numbers to be removed from the combat log and to replaced by onomatopoeic sound effects like “slash”, “kablab” ,“boom” ,“pew pew” and so on.
If some player really like numbers there is mathematics, or wow and its wonderful playerscore.
I would rather have an AoE like now that actually does same damage, than a real AoE that does no damage at all and is pretty much useless like i have seen on other games.
The best option would be to let AoEs hit as many people as possible but give AoEs scaling damage. It would deal the most optimal damage to five people, then scale down slightly until reaching one (because we don’t want it to have equal damage to a single target spell, but still want the Area effect to be an advantage) and scale down further with more opponents.
Something like this.
1: 80%
2: 85%
3: 90%
4: 95%
5: 100%
6-10: 75%
11-15: 65%
16-20: 55%
21-25: 45%
26-30: 35%
31+: 25%The problem with this is that it still disadvantages small groups in WvW vs. large groups.
It means that a group of 20 will do 100% damage against a group of 5 players. But, those same five players with only do 55% damage against the group of 20.
The results are already borne out in WvW: zerging overwhelming all other forms of play.
A group of 20 vs a group of 5 will gank each one of the small group with 4 of their own simultaneously, using single target abilities -.-
The scaling idea is good, but it should penalize more the use vs 1 target only.
Ok i was very interested in coming back to GW2 after i stopped playing because of the drop rates introduced in November patch, but i see there is no will into making this game fun instead of just a grind job.
Such a grind based game only benefits bots, because they can profit before they are caught, and since i don’t like or endorse botting, nor i like the idea of a game where my maximum hope and excitement as player is the thrill of dropping a crafting material i do need, then i’ll continue staying away from the game, and spend my money happily elsewhere.
I’m displeased my post is negative, there is no flame or troll or hate making intent, but just my honest feedback.
Have fun with the bots, to next patch hopefully, sincerely
Me
I’m on a hiatus from GW2 and enjoying MoP.
I stopped playing in Dec because:
- introduction of FotM made the world empty, Orr is 95% of time contested, 90% of game is a lobby game in LA, instanced in FotM …. practically like GW1 was, just its gameplay mechanics were ten thousand times deeper
Also the only good drops were coming from FotM, so basically there is no reward from dwelling in the world, especially when down-levelled
- seasonal events made me feel even more like i was playing a slot machine, although with a very sophisticated lighting system, with a cash shop attached to get the change faster
I was expecting real new game content and not cheap real world related lore reusable content, made primarily to catalyse the usage of gems
- lack of constant contact from developers on the community forums, like there was before the game and the forums did launch, and general disregard for the voice of the community (closing/merging threads and more)
So yeah the game is nice, the world is fantastic and the combat feels a little MEH, alike the story, but the management it is so far terrible and this is the real deal breaker for me.
I’ll wait and see what happens, i can, it is B2P after all.

Just stumbled on a picture and made me think straight to gw2 jumping puzzles, do you know any other similar IRL locations?

Go Engineer and never look back
As someone who worked extremely hard on one of the Orrian maps, I can tell you that DusK has the most accurate comment.
From a lore perspective, the risen continent was once a living nation full of all sorts sorts of people and creatures. Now corrupted by the undead dragon, most of them walk the land as monsters. But you’ll still see a lot of the sentient inhabitants mindlessly continuing on the tasks they performed in their old lives. Some of them farm and mine, others lie around and weep in agony.
The coral soldiers, on the other hand, are more direct servants of the elder dragon. They take a more active role in defending the continent, so you should see them patrolling, standing guard, attacking players, etc.
Weren’t there in Orr already corrupted undead, yet not so corrupted after Zhaitan came to seize and corrupt them of course, but yet definitely at least undead before the dragon came due the cataclysm happened in 1070AE?
Maybe before zhaitan they were just zombies and not ninja zombies like now… maybe Big Z only made chicken and dolyak zombies to add his personal touch of corruption to the already corrupted Orrian undead …
Back on track, i like the maps, a lot, but mobs are mainly hanging dead.

Hint:
You know what? Normally there’s less QQ but this was a peculiar kind of what
yet i’d prefer they would have added gw2 lore specific content, adding a new explorable regions for example.
I just don’t like holidays related content because from a gamer point of view it will detract from the immersion, and from my (real person) point of view it will detracts from enjoying my holidays with the people i’d like to celebrate them with.
think you’ve just missed another post of mine in another thread.
EDIT: also please stop nagging me, write about the thread argument, and not about your suppositions upon my own opinions or habits, because you are derailing the thread badly, thx
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
yes please!
gw lore into gw2 is such a small part of the whole that i wonder why the only new content we’ve seen is related to RL commercial holydays lore…
I’ll try my best to explain it to you so you can comprehend it without being offended.
People enjoy in game holiday events, it’s true with almost every game and even though you may not enjoy it or participate, doesn’t mean it should be scrapped or not implemented for the enjoyment of others.
The end of the calendar year has 3 major holidays (including Halloween here) crammed very close together and then of course New Years. It’s a busy time of year in real life and the life of a person who plays MMOs.
I understand that some people feel that everything in the world should be catered to their personal enjoyment but it’s just not going to happen because despite what you may think, opinions different from your own are not wrong, they’re just different.
Also, there has been new non holiday “lore” related content added, but I understand it’s easier to ignore facts in an attempt to justify your personal complaint.
please Sir, i do trust in my own mind enough and i can tell you that in any game, and not only in this one, i couldn’t care less of a real world holiday being pulled in into my fantasy world i’m escaping, an not any of the words of yours in any quantity might convince me of the opposite, and thus to praise and thanks the developers for something i do not want. Nor i’d ever try to do the same to you or anyone else.
So keep your own ideas, and i’ll keep mine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_gustibus_non_est_disputandum
On top of that i despise the fact that all these content is related to holidays which are commercial holidays, that means that are promptly used at the right time as an incentive to spend some more in gems as you would spend in petty presents in real.
Next i expect Saint Valentine Day, then Easter. I’d play Sims if i wanted those.

yes please!
gw lore into gw2 is such a small part of the whole that i wonder why the only new content we’ve seen is related to RL commercial holydays lore…
mmmm hoped to hear good news for x-mas but i’ll just shelve my toons untill they sort out this and the general feeling that i’m playing a slot machine with a cash shop attached.
But now at 80 you just sit at LA anyways.
that is a bad symptom indeed, and it is quite generalized, it means people have no will to leave LA, like a lobby game, and anything, even travel cost is something not helping this situation.
And when i read that making travel free would derail into economy inflation i just start to laugh, are you talking about bots? karma exploits passed unpunished? because those DID caused economy inflation.
I also laugh when i read that it should be right that i have to pay to spawn at a way point after my toon die as a punishment…….. w8 m8 i’m not dead, i just want to travel, and when i die i’ll have already to pay for gear repairs as punishment…. so why do i have to pay to respawn? (ackowledging it should be locked to the closest one available)
What then would make travelling differ from a punishment if i have to pay for both the same way?
Horizontal progression simply didn’t please enough the mass of ex-wow hard-core players who jumped on the gw2 train at launch, and after 2 months during which there were pretty bad exploits which had ruined the economy to the point we stand now, where some player have thousand of gold while the majority has tenth at most, there were rich players bought any gear they needed on the TP and grinded the dungeons till they were bored.
Because even if designers can’t wonder that, there are players who can dis-humanly grind the kitten out of a game in few weeks, whether the content has being designed to be farmed over months or years, and then these burned-out players started to scream loudly on forums for new content because there was none.
At that point horizontal progression lacked what it makes it shine: exclusive skins skins and skins, the fluffy things that could be collected by challenging achievements based on skills only and not on grind like it was.
The things that makes your toon stands out from the crowd and let you feel rewarded.
There are even few skins that you can buy of gems, namely 3, and they are even 1 time use only, i’d feel moneyraped buying them. On DCUO when i buy a skin i can use it how many times i want and on all my toons, old and new, and so my transaction feels valuable to me at such conditions, and i’ve bought many. That is not he case here in gw2 where all the gems market is “consumable” except additional character and bank slots, which are the only things i indeed bought.
They could have improved the game in fixing exploits, bugs and reducing bots.
Instead they gave us FotM (which is imho an ill made choice for a name of a dungeon made to cater elitists, if a company would held any respect of their customers) and vertical progression, reduced drop rates and grindy game style.
So i feel a little disappointed in my expectations, can’t help in feeling that. Because there is so much attention in realizing some parts of the game, and a total lack in other core game design departments.
Well basically they are free through the Heart of the Mist, so they could just spare us the hassle of using a portal more.
But i’d actually like if instead of having a a free port to LA we had a free port to our home Capitol city, that would create more immersion, by naturally making each race capital city mostly populated by characters of that specific race and properly making visitors from other races looking more exotic.
Also would help each race capital city from being desolate deserts.
centimetres then?
might be he has the Juggernaut
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Juggernaut
why there are, not too often but constantly here and there, these totally gratuitous and unlikely to be real kind of posts????
they looks like it a part of a viral campaign from some actor/agent/contractor who is making money through GW2 and hopes to gather more people by spreading false consensus…
they totally sound like tv commercials from the 70s
i play the game because i want to, it would feel so over the top to write the praises of the lord about it :P
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
There should be an option to add how many zeros anyone prefer, to be added after the combat text numbers, and the stats numbers in tooltips and in the paperdoll window, completely independent from the gear one is wearing.
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
depends on the server
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/77348-mike-lewis-on-the-war-against-the-bots/page__view__findpost__p__2116265
but i guess they are starting to understand that is not convenient to ignore them.
Nonetheless is very easy to find hack and bot applications just googling, so why they developer team doesn’t study these common attainable hacks and build countermeasures built into the client (like i.e. memory fingerprint analysis, anti-teleport controls) instead of relying on players reports?
Sure human judgement is valuable, but they cannot expect us to buy their product and also doing their job forever.
Yet thanks, because the situation is slowly getting better.
Ideally if any activity would have comparable rewards it would just avoid to creating fractures among the community and the players.
I’d prefer if they separated the worlds (servers) where only horizontal progression exists from those where vertical progression reign, maybe this would make both kind of costumer happy in their own town. But this would have also implications with WvWvW, because both kind of servers could not compete each other in the same league then.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the ability to check this. But when I last time did this in other games, I came out with longer times for two characters in difficult terrains. And usually terrains in MMORPGs tend to be difficult.
why it is so hard to comprehend?
problem: moving from A to B two toons in the shortest time
Solution 1: Multiboxing, one toon played, the other in follow
Solution 2: Normal, play one toon at time, when first toon arrive to B log out and play the other toon and make it arrive to B too.
So i understand that solution 1 it might be slower than moving a single character ONCE, but surely it is faster than solution 2.
But i’m sure no one will ever care if you simply put another toon on another account in follow, multiboxing is used for keypress replication amongst all the client for speeding up levelling and farming, and selling accounts, and mass-selling in game goods to sell gold to players.
Now i’ll fetch pop corn and watch you climbing on glass as it pleases you.
The economy is no more beneficial to me or you by someone else cheating to get rich if you really think about it..
0 people botting: Mats @ 10s per.
1,000,000 people botting: Mats @ 1s per.
This belief is what make them richer, through your money too, and your gold cheaper.
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
In the same amount of time? No.
I’ve tried playing with two characters at the same time in other games, and even with a follow option it takes much more time. How much more, that depends on the territory. At some places, you have to make a single step and then wait for the second character to come near again because otherwise he will stuck. Then you have to start any action separately, and with the time to swich the keyboard and lead the second character to the right position, you’re busy the usual amount of time.
Therefore, playing two characters at the same time is not a great time saving. It only adds some need for concentration to boring situations, and need for skill to not so boring situations :-) .
Well try run the same path with 2 characters NOT AT THE SAME TIME, and i’m sure it will appear to you that you would take longer that way that having one char on follow only, leaving aside key-press replication tipically used in multiboxing.
Who multibox in gw2 on N toons:
- loot x N people in Nth of the same time (killing faster because he has a normal DPS x N toons)
- get resources for N people
so you can see how much this is not good for a game economy to stay free and healthy.
Completely non-objective, but definitely nice, hope to see next report on… Feb then? (if the Maya don’t mess up with your time schedule)
Maybe on some server they are doing good
I logged out this early morning in Malchor’s Leap weast of Doric’s Waypoint (little north of the repair NPC) and when i logged back this evening there was still the same train of 8-9 bots clogged in a passage between 2 rocks with infinite respawn of risen.
They died sometimes, but then suddenly they reappeared there, even if no near waypoint was players controlled….
I did reported them before logging out in the morning.
In case all the client plays from the same sub-network it is easy to verify.
If all the clients with the same public IP firing the same skill or key in synch within a little timing then it is easily to determine if they are a happy family playing or one person only multiboxing.
If the clients are connecting through different IPs then it is more difficult, because different networks might have different latency timings, but the server could check if there is a “cluster” of characters constantly in the same small location on the map firing the same skill or key in synch within a more relaxed timing (but taken in account each different client latency) then would be easy to determine.
If they don’t is because they do not care that much.
lucky you
On Far Shiverpeaks (EU) i see many
@Leablo:
sir i think you are a multi-boxer then from what i read, and yes, THERE IS AN ANDVANTAGE:
A group of N people have N separate wills and goals. They might converge, they might not.
When you multibox, you have your only will and only goals, but you work for them through a game power of N normal people, as N are the total toons you are controlling.
A game is in the stakes a challenger has to win it.
If a challenger is an army then the game is not fair to the other challengers, thus is not a game but a con with losers you plan to prey.
Even if you refuse to call this an advantage, your post above in defence of multiboxing is actually a sincere claim that you intellectually admit anyway it or otherwise you wouldn’t defend it so strenuously.
Might be that the global drop rates are influenced by the actual ratio of Gems bought via cash vs. Gems bought via gold, as a safe measure for their cash influx.
Or maybe drops rate have a world total PPM mechanic, multiplied by the number of game account active, but now bots are eating all those procs instead of the players.
But this is a “conspiracy theory” rated thought only, from the dark side of my mind.
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
Theorem 2 Hint:
Well, i’m quite empty headed about hints, because there are plenty of hints if you read carefully, and what is not in the text is in the colors
I’ve being doing DEs and champions all day yesterday in Cursed Shore and both priest of Grenth and Melandru’s chests and the Risen High Wizard’s one gave only blues and 1 green (run them all 2 times at least).
While i had multiple greens and 3-4 yellows dropping from common mobs.
While doing the champions i died multiple times and got little reward for the effort in comparison to just kill what was on my path going from A to B, so there is really no point and involvement for me in doing those events any more.
this is what i want from the next content patch and the further ones
- horizontal progression in stats restored
- a better focus on collecting unique skins through challenging achievements, less raw grind or pure gem market hazard, and also a suitable system for organizing and using them later (alike DCUO styles wardrobe)
- more skills, and the ability to swap them in my skill-bar
- less FotM lobby game and more world participation
- more server side measures to keep bots and hackers tools users under control
- more rewards from DEs and Champions rather than from random normal mobs and dungeons or FotM only
EDIT: Moved to the bug forums thread, as linked in the next post
(edited by MrNobody.4357)
Answering the thread title:
- gates content
- divide users base
- makes past content useless
I’d actually like they stress on unique skins, available through real skill challenges, like timed jumping puzzles rather than the grind effort itself.
If they mean to build customer fidelity instead they could add veteran rewards, just fluffy nice stuff, but nothing power related at all.
I’m remembering post by mods clearing the fact that multiboxing is NOT allowed, but don’t have any link at hand at the moment and i’m getting out, sorry.
I’ve seen many and they were not naked, last today in Orr -.-
Anyway it is just a simple server side script.
If the distance you covered from time1 to time2 is more than any distance you could cover with any boon you could ever get, and you did not used any spawn point, and it is happening often then you are using an hack.
So difficult.
Your forgeting about waypoints. With thosr you could travel any distance and depend on the scriping the hackes use it my be simialer to using waypoints
Sorry i wrote “spawn point” for “waypoint”, i corrected it, hope it is easier to understand, for you.
no there are still plenty. Teleporters, and rangers bear squads, in every map, not during daytime.

I’d say human female looks ok, asura looks shrinked ofc, and norn’s size of shoulders looks like a WoWish syndrome… that is why tjhat player rolled a Norn. Easy as that.
I didn’t see a difference in the loot rates, simply because I’m playing only since three weeks. But the fact is, there’s things that aren’t normal for me.
For example two days ago I was killing a dragon with 15/20 other ppl, at the end I open the chest, 3 blue and 1 green. A guy on the chat asked if someone got a rare, nobody did. That seem not normal regarding to the time we spent to kill this dragon, the first for me, and the last I guess
After that I was walking in cursed shore, because there’s nice events, so I did this event when you have to kill a really difficult guy who is turning you into animal when he is in low health. We put like an hou to finish the event, and I got 4 blue items and a reen token…
I do not count the veterans/champions that just disappear after killing, or give me nothing (like nothing, not just white, nothing), because it was already like that when I started the game.
So I guess there’s a problem, I am level 80 since one week, and since my first level I only looted one rare item…level 76 that I sold for 20s.
Then, if this thread can help by getting people aware of this problem, and make them react, it’s not worthless on my mind.
By the way, sorry for my english, I’m french.
I’ve got a Ganon in my guild who is the most ever lucky person at drops. Next time he links in chat his 20 yellow drops of every evening i’m gonna post it here.
Maybe it is all his fault all the other people gets no loot
@ShiningSquirrel.3751: how can i know that a user will use a teleport hack before she actually use it? And after she use it, once is gone it is no longer possible to make it appear in a screenshot.
Yet i have to believe how hard could ever be to write an anti-teleport hack script server side.
If ANet is waiting for us customers to report every bot which herself alone can also isolate then it is like an unwritten invitation to every customer to use the hack :S
Very bad conduct.

If i remember correctly Trion with the first world event in Rift sent a reward to every active character, fluffy stuff, nice to have, kind of them to send, happy ending of the story.
I vote for nuking Orr with a deer bomb
