My favorite is cleric’s gear. Because then I feel like I’m helping my team when I’m not.

No.
There’s still a ton off issues that need to be worked on with SPvP as a whole.
Farming in and of itself isn’t the problem, it’s when there’s really nothing else to do but farm to get shiny gear and farm to get more shiny gear which you do to show off while farming like Laundry.5120 said. It’s kind of a purposeless grind that’s made worse from diminishing returns because it basically meant that there are few places you can actually farm and farming will take longer.
In GW1 I farmed a decent amount but, it was for a purpose. In fact, just today I farmed some granite to help me get some pcons so I can do some uwsc (yes, I know it isn’t needed but I like to run with them). The point is that I’m farming to get things that I want/ need to do something I actually like doing.
GW2 lacks this. There isn’t anything particularly fun or interesting to do in the “end game.” 5 man dungeons, which require no coordination other than hacking and slashing at health sponges, simply don’t cut it and WvW is just zurging. I’d love to see some end game content with maybe 10+ man dungeons witch might require some party members to have a more tanky set-up or support set-up. At the moment all there is, is 100% pure zerker dps which is worse than the “trinity” ever was or could be.
Don’t even get me started on SPvP.
B-but I thought everyone was saying, “CoF P1 Farming was causing all the infwation and it needed nerfed to save the economy!” Gosh, they couldn’t have been wrong could they? Surely people wouldn’t have been so kitten over one single dungeon path they didn’t like that they made unfounded accusations!?
You get 50s upon completing the dungeon.
Edit: Also you found a Rare, and those strongboxes have a chance to drop crazy good loot.
Edit Edit: You were solo’ing story mode? O.o
I know I got a rare and a strongbox but I thought they fixed the “bug” where part of the loot was 1c. Just trying to alert them to the fact that it’s back.
Yes, I was soloing it because it’s pretty easy to do and well… why not?
So I was soloing AC story and I got 1 copper from two different chests.
I only took one pic, sorry I didn’t screen cap both.
Though I like the look of some of the legendries, it says absolutely nothing about someone’s skill or experience. You could even get a legendary your first day of playing, just bust out your credit card.
>CM
>1g on any path
>Lel
I knew they would do this. I mean seriously? 1g for doing long, boring and broken dungeon paths that has an ugly armor set? Why would anyone set foot in there!?
JQ/FA/AB/GvG/HA.. Zkeys..
if..only..
>Varied pvp types and objectives
>Zkeys (Tangible reward)
So much YES!
Totally agree. TPvP is kind of a pointless joke.
You get the win bonus if you volunteer or get auto-swapped whether your current team wins or loses. It also counts as a win on your stats.
S:
-Necro
-Spirit Ranger
+Thief (Yes, I’m taking mindless s/d spamming into consideration)
A:
+Engineer
+Guardian
=Mesmer
B:
=Elementalist
C:
=Warrior
Both starting sides?
I did it on red but I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t work on blue.
Healing power doesn’t really do anything. If you manage to stack up to say, 3.5k healing power, it will allow you to heal for a negligible 350 hp. As this dead/ dying game is getting updated it just becomes more and more obvious that full zerker is the only way to go. Enemies in new content can shred through 3.5k+ armor like paper and healing power is useless.
So… You can just auto-run off the edge from the starting point and troll your team by feeding the other team points… Lol, great design. (/end sarcasm.)
Well I like… Err… Hmmm… I guess the ability to preview stuff in the pvp locker? Can’t really think of any good things about pvp… Or pve for that matter.
Apparently Anet thinks its “fun” and “interesting” to get CC spammed non-stop. Stability isn’t even a good solution to it either because it only lasts a few seconds with a 30 second recharge. Dodging is hardly a solution when you have 3 golems perma-chasing and CC spamming you across the room. Needless to say, I quit after 3 attempts. Not just because it almost made me fall asleep, but also because it’s just plain annoying how everything can rip through over 3.5k armor in seconds.
So you were “bored” but at the same time its too challenging?
It was needless to say that you quit though, we could have inferred your quitter attitude from the rest of your QQ post.
I’d hardly call getting CC spammed a “challenge.” I find this boss even less engaging than Simin on Arah p4 which is basically just, “Lol, stand and spam dmg until dead.” Weee, fun.
Bad design is bad I guess.

I don’t have too much of a problem with ranger pet damage but the fear/stun spam and their perma chasing all the way across the map is absolutely ridiculous.

…Skilled Thief…
I lold, thanks for that.
Definitely not. Class and skill “balance” is still a horrific mess and it has been given next to no attention. TPvP is broken with the 3v5 and 4v5 matches right from the start and, again, no attention is being given. Hotjoin sPvP is meta spam-to-win builds and giant zurgfests which only seem to get worse on a daily basis. Lately I’ve noticed a lot of stun spam and KD spam zurgs in hotjoin.
On a personal note; My interest in this game is falling faster then shares of J. C. Penny.
At that point, the game calculates each team’s players’ individuals scores. Whichever team scored the most individuals points (from kills / caps / so on) wins a tie match.
Doesn’t make it any less kitten
So… Why is it that there are no ties in TPvP? I just did a match where both teams got to 500 points at the exact same time yet, my team lost somehow… That has got to be one of the most kitten things I have ever heard of. It’s ridiculous that it counts as a loss an I didn’t get the win reward when it was actually a tie!
Well if, for whatever reason, they remove the downed state, I’d end up only ever playing my thief in PvP. It would be stupidly easy to kill everyone in 2-3 seconds. The downed state kind of stops that from happening at the moment.
If I had to guess why this is, I would think it’s because of the overall balance issues. There are still a lot of really cheap and annoying builds out there and I think it’s a turn-off for a lot of people.
I honestly don’t think thieves should have been in the game in the first place. They have only caused more problems than they solved.
I don’t feel like CoF Path 1 needs a nerf. It’s really the only thing in the game in which I can quantify how much I need to do to get _ item such as a legendary. If this gets nerfed to stupidity, it’s back to square one of, “Maybe if I hope and pray enough, maybe, just maybe, I might get the precursor I need” because the rest of the game is lolrng.
I for one am not even going to bother with a legendary if all I have is lolrng. I don’t get decent drops.
What? I thought for sure that removing the ability to WP res and making enemies more time consuming would make people flock to things like CoE. Shocking, truly.
Name: Vidt Koebal (Nialiss.6459 for the acct name)
Profession: Guardian, Warrior and Mesmer
Gear: Full exotic with some ascended items
Traited: Depends on the class but more tanky/ support with respectable DPS
Experience: Paths 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Dungeon Master)
Times completed: I’ve done path 2 and 3 countless times
Time: Err… I usually have a rotating sleep schedule so it depends.
God, I hope they nerf CoF. Maybe then people would be more willing to do other dungeons.
I think I remember someone saying almost this exact same thing a while back but, it was about the 600/ smite and Shadow Form nerf in GW1 in an effort to stop speed clears and the comment was more specifically about the Cathedral of Flame dungeon.
Post nerf; People just didn’t do Cathedral of Flame and other dungeons that couldn’t be speed cleared. Ah, history will repeat itself.
But every dungeon was able to be speed cleared, some were just more pug friendly than others.
cough
Doesn’t really matter. If it’s not done on a regular basis = People don’t do it.

Everyone likes to do dungeons!
Lolwut? Oh right, I forgot that dungeons are so much better now and that’s why there are 50%+ less people looking to do dungeons other than CoF p1 on gw2lfg.
Wait…
Well you can “parkour” around random maps with them and get on top of the LA bank with them which isn’t an exploit of anything. They are just neat places to find throughout the game and is something you can do at the end game.
CoF path 1 is the last dungeon path worth doing. I’m not considering Fractals as a dungeon by the way, Fractals is just Fractals to me. Unfortunately CoF path 1 is probably next on Anet’s hit-list.
I did path 1 and 2 of AC and I didn’t think it was hard, it was just terrible. As in, terribly annoying. Getting KD spammed every .5 seconds in not “fun” or “interesting” to say the least. It’s just plain annoying and only a masochist would enjoy it. The path 2 boss is long, boring and awful. Shooting laser beams for 30 minutes while half asleep is not what I would call “fun” or “Interesting.”
I find the hardest thing about fighting Maguuma is keeping my bags from being full.
The best tip I can give for this instance is to just not do it ever, for any reason. It’s just a giant gold sink.
About the only dungeons worth doing post-patch are all paths of AC and CoF path 1.
I’d imagine It would have to be from something that people don’t ever do like, killing the risen giants in Orr. Even with a low drop rate someone by now would have gotten it if everyone was doing the event that drops it. I figure it would have to be a rarely killed champion or something, not one that is killed constantly.
They do have a glow-like effect but it’s less vibrant then the AC glow.
The end game content in GW1 was definitely better. It’s probably because you could approach the content in more than one narrow minded way.
Basically, it’s only for 80’s. Though a lower level could get carried through by 3-4 level 80’s.
About your last point, I prefer running dungeons my way.
+1
Oh and I thought I was the only one who knew of that “method” of doing CM given that I figured it out on my own…
Yeah. You know what else is in all other MMOs? Tanks, healers, you know, structured team play. Not a chaotic and choppy mess of a combat system which basically consists of, “spam skills until things r deadlol.” WP resing made it work… Sorta.
Lupicus is going to be so much fun now. It great that no one will ever take a new person to do Arah now. At least I already got several sets from there. GJ Anet! (/end sarcasm).
I once took a group of 4 people who had never done arah before into path 2. Lupi got 3 stacks of grubs. Nobody died.
You’re doing Arah with the wrong people. It’s not an easy dungeon.
It’s acutally laughably easy (and boring if you’ve done it over 100 times). I’m just concerned with new people trying to do it. I also don’t PuG Arah.
