I think the starter areas are meant to accommodate people who may have never played an mmo before. Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how daunting walking into a game for the first time can be! (: I’ve had a couple of completely new inexperienced people start playing recently and they’ve had trouble keeping alive and learning to use more than 1-2 buttons. Don’t even get me started on dodging, haha! We all have to start somewhere and not everyone is a seasoned gamer! It’s a very new and overwhelming experience for them. (:
You could definitely try pvp or challenging yourself with higher level zones! Also different classes offer different play styles. Some involve more skill management than others. Engineers and elementalist tend to be more complicated than the other classes; where as warriors and rangers are a lot easier and simpler to play imo. So you could try one of the harder classes? Sadly, if doing those things still don’t fulfill the difficulty level you want, then maybe the truth is this might not be the game for you? Sometimes it’s just a realization we have to face. No game can perfectly cater to everyone and skill levels range. What is difficult for one person may be easy for somebody else! >3<
If there are new pets, please for the love of all that is good in this world….please let at least one of them be a DINOSAUR! My asura ranger has been terribly jealous of Kozzak ever since the beggining of his personal story! He’d love to have his own little Shreiksy to rip apart his enemies with. (;

I love the thought of adding a memorial feature to guild halls. I think it is an absolutely beautiful idea. I’m sure it would help strengthen communities within many guilds who choose to utilize it. (:

I can understand why it may take awhile to fix old armors that have tail clipping issues, but I don’t see a reason why new armors should have this problem too! Seriously! Why does the new aetherblade armor not take the Charr tail into account??? :( SO SAD.
It won’t end in a dungeon. We have however included an instance that will open up that has a single player version, and a more difficult multiplayer version.

I expect it to remain the same. The disconnect it leaves players who prefer to solo doesn’t seem to matter based on their replies regarding the issue. Unfortunately, story just isn’t where they prevail.

Would it surprise you though? I’m pretty sure I remember him being blown away by the attacks of the GW2 community for not praising the game 100% in his youtube videos. I’ve never seen him have to address a specific fanbase in that manner.
Yea. He addressed the GW2 community when Jesse Cox gave his first impressions on the game and received a lot of backlash for it.

One of our goals in using existing characters in Living World content is to strengthen connections to the player. We intended to include a conversation option for players who spent time with Lord Faren in the Personal Story, but this fell off the radar as the release neared completion. It’s on my list of things to watch out for when we’re developing upcoming releases. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
It may be at best interest to think of more permanent solutions within the game to strengthen character connections to players. People that miss out on living stories or join the game after will not have this shared experience. Instead, they will have to perceive NPCs through a badly executed personal story. Not that there is any experience to begin with at the moment, seeing as how Faren has memory loss issues and the personal story is extremely choppy at best when it comes to player relationships with NPCs.
I honestly think the home instance would make a great tool for something of the likes if it were improved on. It has great potential to be so many things, but is severely under utilized.
I don’t think Winterdays skins were unpopular because of their rarity. They were unpopular because of their lackluster designs in comparison to the chance skins.
I don’t mind the RNG weapon skins in chests every now and then, but RNG chests after RNG chests can a bit excessive and hard to keep up with. As a consumer, I would probably spend more on direct sales as I would need to get skins for my alts and main. Unfortunately this doesn’t pertain to all consumers. It’s the money that speaks, and I’m without a doubt that we will continue to see this trend of paying for a chance in the future.
I have a hard time understanding this mentality. If it’s cool and you like it, then you should wear it proudly. Who cares what other people are sporting. Event items tend to disappear with time anyways. The Halloween book was everywhere during that event. I hardly ever see it now.
I have tried it several more times and no matter how many times I have gotten the crab last, I can’t seem to get the achievement. x___x;; Otherwise I wouldn’t mind so much. -sigh- I think I may just leave this one be.

I absolutely love the flower. It looks perfect on my little sylvari. It brings me back to the days of beta when he gave off yellow glowy pollen whenever he moved. <3333 ;~;
A darker night would be wonderful. I honestly forgotten that their was even a day and night cycle in the game. This might be too complicated, but I do like the suggestion of nocturnal monsters and animals along with different events appearing at night in some zones too. Possibly with a change in ambient noise to make the night really stand out. Eg. Owls and crickets, quieter/gentler/scarier music, etc. It would make the world seem a bit more realistic and alive in a way imo. :3
I suppose it could even be taken a step further if wanted, with some ranger pets, cave entrances, materials only being seen out at night or during the day time.
Yay! I loved those dances and had hope they would release a permanent version of them. ^^ The gem store was so lackluster for the first few months. I’m glad they are updating it more regularly now.
The lion cub mini pet is unbearably adorable like the Hippo. I just wish they didn’t take bag space when used and aren’t such a chore to keep around. x____x;; I gave up trying to have my little hippo follow me, but he’s still oodles of cuteness.
I’m debating on the book right now. I will probably buy it, but I think it would have been more convenient to implement it another way such as a ‘cosmetic utility skill’ or ‘/emote’.
I hope we get one in the future! :3 I don’t see any down fall to having a gift option, and I would love to be able to give my friends something special from the gem store from time to time. ^^
The gem store version is a short bow even though Rox’ appears to be a longbow based off her skills. I love it! I bought the short bow and quiver twice for two of my characters. ^^
This dungeon was quite fun. I liked it a lot and think it was executed well. If the other dungeons were built in a similar way, I’d probably have less complaints. I still think the end of the personal story being a dungeon is ‘meh’ to say the least. I would have much preferred if it were made into a solo instance that can scale from 1-5 players. If not solo-able, I hope they revise the way the old story dungeons are done to match this one.
This dungeon is challenging and fun, but still accessible. Other dungeons are uninviting, tedious and slow. I don’t have a problem with grouping as long as it’s justified by good design.
My Sylvari ranger Virgo. :) He just received a makeover. ^^ He was originally your typical celestial white t3 wearing Sylvari, but I decided I wanted to make him more natural looking.
Just the other day I saw a norn or charr warrior with big, bulky, spikey full plate armor and some small plush teddy bear looking back item. It was quite sad.
As a Charr warrior, I take pride in my plushie backpack.
That’s some real fancy calligraphy you got going on there Jon. ‘New’ and ‘old’. I take it your tools of trade were MS Paint and a mouse! :D Anyways, I think the new one says ‘blue jellyfish’ more so than the old one does in terms of colours and design. I like the look of it though and I haven’t seen shiny glowing animations yet. So, I say yes I’m all for the change because I would rather the rainbow jelly model be unique.
And since we are on the subject of pets, I feel it is more important to mention that griffins, raptors and dolphins should really pets. Especially Dolphins. <3 (:
I like may others, are upset at reaching the final quest only to find it’s a dungeon requiring you to group-up, after playing the story line solo. I find it very rewarding to solo a mission as you learn a lot about different tactics, etc. which you’d miss out of playing as part of a group. I suggest that the last quest be made playable as a solo mission, just like the rest of the story line. I managed to complete GW solo and in no way did this detract from it’s enjoyment.
This is basically how I feel. Group play doesn’t mean good play. Solo-able content can be just as epic and rewarding if it’s made well. I did the last step to help get a friend through it. All of my characters on the other hand, will probably never finish their own stories. No matter how I try to look at it, I have an extremely hard time wrapping my head around the way the personal story is built. It’s inconsistent with the way it’s written and the way it’s laid out. Had all of the story mode dungeons been solo-able, the whole personal story experience would have had much better pacing and flow. We also would have had more characters making a return (one of the biggest shortfalls of the PS at the moment) if everyone had been able to experience Destiny’s Edge being re-united for themselves.
That said, I have nothing against group content. I definitely think it’s something that should apart of every MMO, but this is one part of the game where I felt story took a severe back seat because of it.
I know you didn’t make the decision Jeffrey Vaughn, but I really hope that you take the feedback here in consideration. MMOs are ever evolving and they can change for the better if things don’t set well. I’d love to see the day where personal story can redeem itself.
than when you go into a dungeon for story tell them “hay i havnt seen this yet” and normaly thay will be happy to wate for you often chating with other guildys.

That may ‘solve’ the problem for me, but it doesn’t actually fix the real flaw in the design. A majority of the player base will still play story modes without much care for the story. You may as well just call them dungeons (easy mode or level/part 1) and take story out of the name.
I’ll hold out about this one as I have yet to experience it. If it does help this issue, I really hope they decide to revamp all of the other story dungeons to have a stronger and more engaging focus/emphasis on both the story and dungeon aspects. Honestly though, I feel it would have been better to make story modes solo-able and keep explorable to 5-man/group play. The whole personal story experience would have had much better pacing and flow to it that way. That’s just my personal opinion anyways.
I can probably be put into the group of players who prefer to solo content and go at things in their own pace. I really enjoy this game and I love playing with others. You can usually find me with 1 or 2 other people in game. I don’t really have much of an issue with explorable dungeons or fractals. It’s when I’m forced to party for story that I begin to cringe. My experience with story dungeons are that I am generally asked to skip cut scenes and speed through content for the sake of the group. I’d rather not, however, out of respect I do so anyways. I will force myself to group if I have to, but it often comes with a “I’ll just do this to get it over with and experience this content” feeling instead of something I look forward to and go about in my own way.
Sometimes I wonder what’s the point of putting in story modes if a majority of players are going to or be asked to skip through them anyways.

I honestly wish they would just redesign the class at times. Had they given us less variety in pets and focused on making a few good dependable ones, rangers may have been in a better place. Everyone always flocks to the only reliable options anyways, leaving the rest to gather dust.
As the main mechanic that affects all of our builds, it really does need priority in terms of fixing.
