i’ll wait for the new xpac’s price drop. i can really feel the hurt that the HoT failure has put Anet in. Aurene reveal feels meh, with all the cool dragon concept art Anet has shown us they settle on Toothless from How to train your dragon. Caudecus battle is just as a mess as the dungeon of the first elder dragon. Did’nt Eir say she wanted to get the sister sword to Sohathin in the stroy of the Catacombs dungeon? Now it’ll never happen. Ritlock has been shelved again!!! without any story as to how he got his new powers. Asuran girl and Logan get soaked in dragon juice and Logan is just fine??? by the way what about the Asuran girl? The best story, boss designs, and legendary armor is now locked behind raids which I would have been cool with if they had not made the dedicated healer Druid, you know the role that no one wants to play, that makes raids exclusive to pre-mades? One of the biggest problems MMOs as an industry that Anet wanted to do away with?
Really liked the Season 3 episode. Best of all are the new enemies, they are so active now, more than just dps sponges. The speed of the triple ghost dual blades in Caiths story took me by surprise and I questioned whether i was playing an action game than an mmo. Awesome please make more enemies like this.
This is my favorite episode, just enough mystery and reveals to make me want more. Taimi is now my favorite character in the game. Small details like the charred silhouettes on the wall were great too. The new gliding skills are fun I hope we can use them in other maps in the future.
Just… What happened to you? How has it happened? You literally had the gaming population eating out of your hands in the year or two after Guild Wars 2 released because you showed us you were competent and you showered us with content at a a bi-monthly cadence. You were the guys who were up there with Final Fantasy in showing developers like Blizzard how to run an MMORPG! You gave us the Battle of Lion’s Arch and showed just how an open world event should affect your game world and playerbase!
Here’s what happened:
- Destroyed the Warrior profession pre-spring 2016. The MOST popular profession on launch year and they destroy it.
- 2 years of very little content. 1 year spent setting the game up for China and another year spent on making the expansion.
- Got rid of solo que for spvp.
- Went back on their stance on dedicated healers by creating the Druid.
- Made core game free. Anet banked WAY too much on the expansions success.
- HoT killed WvW till spring update.
- HoT design philosophy: “Masking grind with challenge”.
- Communicating more on Reddit than their actual forums.

the day before the wvw reset, on that day, give players the free option to transfer onto a different server. on any other day they will still have to pay the gems to transfer over
Free transfers would also increase the problem of alt accounts spying on the enemy team via tag watching, wasting the tactivators, giving false intel in map chat, and destroying golems.
If your going to mix the desert and alpine borderlands then please do it as a third map and do map rotations. I like the alpine and desert borderlands unique traits and please use the spring update version of desert. We should dub that map as the “Spring Desert Borderland”.
As for more deploy able siege, NO. Less siege wars, MORE Fighting.
Anet is giving us new stuff to vote on but not what I really want. So here’s my WvW suggestion wishlist:
1 – Integrate gliding into WvW.
Gliding would be OP so try to make it un-OP with mechanics that can counter it and work it into alpine and desert borderlands or make a third map. Would definitely pickup a glider skin when this happens.
2 – Keep trying to break up the zerg without ruining the fight.
For example, the lord is immune to damage unless your side controls one shrine. Each shrine increases damage done to lord by 33%. The amount of supply to repair walls and gates depends on how many shrines are controlled.
3 – Fix and/or replace the oasis event.
The event is fun except for the lag. Would it take a lot of work and/or time to fix?
4 – Improve post-prime time.
When prime time ends WvW turns into a cat and mouse game and/or k-train where the side with less players cant do anything or all sides just ignore each other. Not sure on how to improve this situation as the side with a lot more players will always win.
5 – Work on the next set of Elite Specializations.
May not be WvW centric but what if it was? What if there were WvW only Elite Specs?
6 – Legendary WvW back-piece
Fractals has it. Spvp has it. Are we really gonna have to wait until there’s a tournament to build it?

The wanderlust of getting lost in a very exotic, colorful, and complicated place is the most enjoyable aspect of this zone and the only aspect that’s enjoyable.
Whats not enjoyable about this zone?
It’s the most grindy map currency.
The most exciting part of any HoT map the “Meta” has the longest wait period, because of this wait period less people are willing to participate or even want to take the time to learn it. Also since the meta bar doesnt reset until after the meta is done the amount of map currency you can farm from the meta is the least you can earn from any HoT map.
Most of its content is anti-solo. CHAMPIONS EVERYWHERE! In a very complicated map like this, help will have trouble getting to you plus at the time i got to this zone most of the player base were still in Verdant Brink.
Totally on board with this because it intuitively feels right. It’s easy to forget that stomp doesn’t proc it when every other movement spell does. Also, it should burst finish as well, but didn’t stomp have that? was it removed?
Tactics should stay nerfed. I dont want my WvW commander/Guild Leaders start demanding the shout build again as I have been using it most of pre-HoT. Its bad enough that they are addicted to the Elite Banner.
You should also consider getting into a guild, getting a mic, and start learning to use Team Speak. Learn to use Team Speak even if you dont want to be in a guild as Worlds have setup public communities for everyone to use for FREE! Bear in mind that some World have different rules for using it to combat spies.
1 – A LOT LESS CC ACROSS THE BOARD!!! LET US FIGHT!!!
2 – Population controls. Anyone remember Fantasy Earth Zero? That game only allowed players in if the other side had players coming in too.
3 – LESS SIEGE WARS. MORE FIGHTING.
4 – STOP FORCING PVE. Every Stat combination, Rune, Sigil, etc, can be bought with badges.
Using action cam has done wonders for me but it doesn’t fit siege. Its harder to use the ground targeting skills of the arrow cart. An automatic switch of camera modes whenever you go onto and leave siege would be great with the exception of golems.
Tried using Shattering blow in the heart of the mists on the large group of golems. The tool tip says 5 adrenaline and 5 targets, which means I should get 25 adrenaline total, but I only get 15 every time. It does hit 5 targets as I see 5 sets of numbers from bleeding.
Also tried using it with max crit with the Furious trait on and I still only get 15 adrenaline when I land 5 crits. Does the Furious trait not work with utility skills? It does not say in its tooltip.
Is it bugged or is the tooltip wrong?
Update: Used shattering blow several more times and now the adrenaline gained fluctuates between 13 to 15 even when i hit 5 targets.

Can we please reforge Caladbolg? and maybe do a story with a broken sword theme. Its a rare so players may have already salvaged it but how about allow players to reskin any sword to the broken calabolg in order to reforge it.
If sylvari are meant to be the only ones to own it then I say give it to Laranthir, hes pretty much what Trahearne should have been.
Cant activate Gerrvid. I read the note on the door but gerrvid wasnt at the inn at the time. Days later hes at the inn but all he says is that he buried in research, I cant read any of the books. According to the wiki a dialogue option “I came because of your note on the dwarven door” does not appear. I go back to the door I cant click on the note anymore, so I cant reset the chain, somethings wrong. pls help.

There is a hotkey setting called “Lock Autotarget”. I know the name doesnt make sense right…but it works. Go test it out in the heart of the mists. I found this out on these forums a long time ago.
Lack of diverse viability in both professions and builds for spvp.
Not enough changes to shake-up the WvW meta. They promise to focus on WvW after release of HoT which is total kitten because they will be too busy fixing bugs and stuff which is what happens every time they release anything.
The invasions event is a sign that HoT content can just be zerged instead of being challenging.
Snaff is actually alive. Zojja gets all the feels.
Greatest HoT Fear: Mordremoth battle is a dungeon and just as bad as the Zhaitan battle. Also, destiny’s edge comes along only for us to watch them repeatedly die. Again.
Gear grind sneaking in even more….and Donald Trump.
A Trump-esque character would be hilarious though. He would call everyone a loser and his grand plan to keep the elder dragons out would be to build a giant wall.
Events like this needs better ratios of mobs vs players. Too many players just zerg through all the mobs which makes the event trivial like the starter zone bosses. Even if you only increase the mobs stats they only feel like dps sponges.
What would make things fun would be more enemy mechanics, not just for vets or champions, but for the normal ones as well. Silver wastes brought that but im bored of those already, bring out the new ones.

I too am having the black screen problem of this nature. I dont have a graphics card and I have been enjoying GW2 without one for over a year now. I hope I dont have to get one just to play HoT because that will mean buying a new computer. Here is my DxD. Ill be sending it to customer service as well.

Dire is the condi version of soldier gear. Soldier’s can be acquired with badges, so why not Dire?
You can get a lot of sustain if you use the banner regen trait, heal sigent, and dolyak runes. Thats 3 different regen sources to heal from. If your gonna depend more on regen for defense then you need healing power. Clerics is a good choice.
I have always wanted banners to have their own adrenaline burst skill.
Like you get to throw the banner for bigger AoE damage and also apply a condition based on the banner. For example:
Sword Banner: Causes Weakness
Shield Banner: Causes Vulnerability
Target Banner: Causes Blindness
Book Banner: Causes Poison
Elite Banner: Causes Daze
Each banner throw only costs 10 adrenaline so you can summon three banners and throw them into fields for a blast finish. I know that the banners already can blast finish but with this skill you can do it twice and for more damage.
A burst skill like this can make a warrior seem more like a paragon. It would also allow banners to work with burst traits. The book banner should be moved to the heal slot so we can use all 5 banners. With so many buffs to different stats A celestial Banner Warrior sounds interesting.
Or a better idea – instead of a throw how about a shout that commands all banners in range to use their #2 skill.

7. Hammerstun (Earthshaker)
Once the Hammerstun was really stunning. The first-inc was made by many warriors jumping with hammers into the enemy instead of casting at each other until you find a stone or tree to hide.
This is not possible anymore due to the stability-nerf and the adrenaline-nerf.
However… the dmg in these times was better, too. Nowadays the Hammerstun does about the same dmg as an auto-attack.
Hammer-trains are still possible now but in a different way. The #5 skill of Rampage is a free hammer stun and it can be combined with the #3 rampage skill to increase its range.
Fix WvW first.
I agree that WvW needs fixing before a tournament like this can happen. Thats why im presenting this idea ahead of time so that once WvW is in a better state this community would have discussed the kitten out of this idea. Things like this tournament take time to develop and it starts by talking about it first.
Youre hilarious, sorry to break it to you but t1 is not t1 due to skill. At all. The reason t1 is t1 and t9 is t9 is due to population and coverage, nothing else. Get over yourself, or better yet exit this little bubble of yours and visit other tiers.
If population and coverage is everything, then this tournament helps with that. Population and coverage can be SHARED across many servers of different tiers and I will be able to meet many other tiers without having to leave my guild and world and without paying a transfer fee.

Get this, your T1 servers may or may not have good players. What they do have is 24/7 coverage. That is all that allows them to stay T1. WvW ranking is and will always be a numbers game. It has nothing to do with individual skill.
I absolutely disagree. Numbers isnt everything. I know that none of the top tier servers have 24/7 coverage. Im on Blackgate, a server that, just last week, placed first against Jade Quarry the server with the largest SEA coverage in the tier plus they team up with Tarnished Coast, every week, and Blackgate is gonna do it again this week.

You can indeed always pick up new tricks from other servers and servers, but that is not a one way ticket. That´s more of a a big cup of elitist col aid drink you are brewing with this attitude.
Learning from each other is a plus while the main goal with this idea is to have new experiences. Weren’t’ players griping about how we are always playing against the same people?

Re-read the post. You missed the point.
When you “alliance servers” you get into the EoTM problem of it being not their server, so why should they care.
Wouldn’t they care to show the other worlds what they are made of and what they can do? They can have more people to strategize and play with in order to have a new experience out side of the same match ups every week. They can challenge themselves by taking on players or guilds of other tiers. Wouldn’t it be great to find that they could stand up to or even beat enemies of higher tiers?
Top servers are the top cuz they have more coverage aka people around the clock to Pree preee teeeeee
And in this tournament those top servers can share that coverage with other servers.

Worlds from lower tiers can learn from the best. When the tournament is over they can use their new found knowledge and experience to aim for the top!
Players exchanging ideas to better their game is hilarious? I mean the difference between tiers in regards to skill, mastery, leadership, and teamwork can be huge. The amount of insight and experience can be a great help to a lot of players.
How did the top tier servers get to the top? By observing and integrating the ideas of the enemies they fought against and applying their own spin to them. I have witnessed this myself. How can this happen when worlds are being matched up with the same worlds every week?

The absolute last thing WvW needs is a tournament. Let alone an EoTM-esque tournament where every one is anonymous.
Sure, allied worlds wont know each other at the start, but when a tournament like this is announced the top and second tier servers are the most likely to reach out to their allied worlds and as time goes on allies can become less anonymous. When new guilds come to my server my guild commanders make contact with them and try to work with them. It doesn’t always work out but when it does it feels great.
EoTM points don’t count towards mist war and the only impact they have on the mist war is a batch of supply and because of that small impact players are more inclined to stay anonymous.
Introducing the annual WvW ALL WORLD TOURNAMENT! where players get a reprieve from playing against the same opponents every week. Where worlds from other tiers get to socialize, strategize, and play together for top rewards! Population and coverage of many worlds can be SHARED!
THE SET UP
Three teams are made based on ranking. Worlds of the same tier will NEVER be on the same team! The best and last worlds of every other tier will be on the same team. (i.e. Jade Quary and Sea of Sorrows would be on the same team – see example rankings.) Worlds that consistently place second will be on the same team.

I am worried about the warrior profession for the era of HoT.
The Rampage nerf hit and I got really upset. I mean how many times are we gonna get nerfed before the release of HoT? and it boggles my mind to see other warriors say that we needed it. That people are okay with being nerfed. Am I missing something? Well maybe I am since I spend most of my time in WvW on Blackgate.
After the stability nerf the amount of warriors on the server dwindled. Comments among guildies would joke " Why be a warrior anmymore?". When the damage buff came guildies and players in the new Lions Arch would rejoice in their new found OP-ness but not a single warrior made a comment like that. Not in PvE, WvW, not even among my guild. I know that being OP isnt good and that it’ll someday get nerfed but it was still a letdown.
Our guild leader became worried that our frontline heavy classes would not be able to handle the new damage. He was right. We couldnt make any worthwhile engagements anymore. Many commanders would yell “fallback!” before I could do any meaningful damage. Then I gave Rampage a try and it was effective. It still took about 9 other zerg mates to get any kills and it felt like the good old days when zerg battles were more like brawls than a chess game. At the time I was the only red giant whenever my zerg pushed and I thought that if I used Rampage long enough others would follow and we could do more than just small fast engagements. Then it got nerfed and I dont think it’s ever gonna happen.
I’ve calmed down now and still dont feel that we deserved that nerf. Probably because I dont roam or spvp, so I didnt get to see those sides of the game. So I thought i’d just share the side of the game that I see.
Will those that got invited to the stress test be able to participate in the tournament? or is the tournament a totally separate thing?
Disagree with you pretty strongly there. Afaik, we have some of the best personal cc defense in the game.
In fact, I almost have to think you’re joking about immob given just about every warrior can break it with a movement skill, a weapon swap, and/or has duration cut significantly. Plus, stun breaks don’t work on immob….
Alright so despite all of those things that you mentioned I have tried and every time i still get locked up in CC and by the time I actually get to land a hit the commander calls retreat. Why? because my server is constantly outnumbered and double teamed every week. I get to do NOTHING!!!!!. This why warriors are in a bad state, because the community still thinks everything is all “hunky dory” and so anet does little, nothing, hell even nerfing us still when we are already in a bad state.
So go ahead keep asking for very little and in the end you’ll get less than what you ask for. Thats how these movements end up. Im done discussing this. If things arnt good enough but the time HOTS releases. Im not buying.
Base line Fast Hands is not enough for WvW. To me CC Defense is top priority.
If Fast Hands gave stacks of stability (more than 1), breaks stun, including immobilization whenever we change weapons, then ill be for it. I mean c’mon the symbol for immobilization is a chain and what is the symbol for break stun? A broken chain. Ya anet can still give us the finger and change the symbols.
It’s perfect.
20s was way too long and unpunishing for Rampage. It allowed bad Warriors to miss with key Skills such as Seismic Stomp without suffering much punishment from it. Now they can’t.
The most similar skill, Lich Form, had 15s duration and 180s Cooldown from the June patch. So Rampage was simply brought in line with this, makes all the sense.
Necromancers also get marks that can be deployed from range, a fear curtain that can fear multiple times, and a mark with an unblock-able fear.
What do warriors have besides Rampage? That can actually do something against a red sea of those marks and every other ranged CC in the game, deployed by 2 server sized zergs, from different servers, that outnumber and double team your server every week.
Anyone please tell me.

At this moment in time, Rampage definitely needed the nerf.
…But we got issues, and it either can be fixed through helping us out (which I think isn’t the way to go) or bringing other power-house professions down another notch. Relative power is important.
I agree that relative power is important but it can take years to get there. Ever since launch warriors have gone downhill and that is over the course of 3 years. Will I have to wait another 3 years or next expansion just to have fun with the profession I spent many hours on? unlocking skins for? unlocking inventory slots using gems?
If anet trying make us branch out in other professions, how can I do that when the profession I love the most is trash?

How is this skill god mode? I dare anyone to yolo rampage into any zerg alone and tell me that they still feel like a god.
If you are dependent on this one warrior skill, then… Im sorry to say… you are doing something seriously wrong with your warrior.
I would love to NOT be dependent on this skill. In zerg battles, stability is insignificant and even though damage got buffed across the board, how can I make use of that damage when most zergs have become afraid to even engage because we are constantly outnumbered and double teamed, every week.
