What are you basing these bans on? TOS being broken? In that case I advice you ban half of NA, including the people that probably endlessly whined to you about doing this.

IMO it’s none of anyones business other than anet of what people does w their ingame tourn winnings. The only way I could find a ban justified from your end is if someone actually changed the outcome of a match by cheating. Nothing like that happened.

But yeah, I’m sure jeff convincing you of banning the team that always beats him is all done in the ‘’fairness of competition’’ and not you getting bullied by whispers and not having the nuts to take a stance.

There is no fake outrage, most players in NA want these players to be gone and to never return to the game. I’m not a communist or something; I don’t believe in top players being banned from competitions to let lower level teams feel better about themselves. That being said, I definitely care about top players setting an example and playing the game the RIGHT way, not account sharing and getting rewards for awful players, and if Anet isn’t going to do anything, then at least Jebro is going to remove them and give the money from his tournament to people who are more deserving of it such as Jeff and friends who actually play the game.

Also can we just give these players permanent dishonor. Several of them were banned in both Season 5 AND Season 7, they aren’t going to reform when the only thing they care about in this game is just making profit off of boosting.

Can we have a redo of the monthly or something? I would’ve gotten like 3rd/4th place but we faced The Abjured first round because they were playing on low QP random accounts.

Condi Thief is OP. Source: I’m in top 10 NA using S/D condi thief. Of course im also ridiculously good at the game, but it’s broken. I’m not even good at thief, I main warrior, its just that warr is so nerfed that im forced to use kittened OP stuff like SD condi thief to climb.

Dagger is a joke. Melee staff would’ve been much cooler, but they give another crappy weapon like torch. What kind of “Warrior” runs around with a dagger?

There is no best 1v1 class; there is simply a group of the best 1v1 classES:
Mesmer, Druid, Guard are the best IMO.

I too think there is a lack of diversity. We should implement affirmative action programs to increase the representation of African Americans and Women in the PvP leaderboards, and should create marketing programs specifically towards these groups to create equal representation.

There are no viable warrior builds that can 1v1 meta mesmer.

Guard with longbow can beat mesmer 1v1 quite easily, if you’re using some other build without Test of Faith or the Trap Heal then you’re going to lose eventually because mesmer just has more sustain than you and you have no burst without longbow or ToF.

Also don’t think that the Anet devs know more about PvP than the players. Most Anet devs can’t get to plat and only balance off data.

It’s getting to the point where I feel like every single DC or AFK is match manipulation even when the game is full of complete randoms. Arenanet needs to do another sweep of accounts from the leaderboard like they did in S5, many of the S5 cheaters “reformed” but certain players have returned and continue to do such things and have gotten away with it.

Then you have my mesmer build which just bombs teamfights and runs Paladin, along with no Portal/Blink since taking one of those ruins the fight potential.

You can’t use some obscure build that you use as evidence of build diversity. Also Burn guard is awful after patch because it has no cover conditions.

I was the single warrior in the North America Unity Tournament out of 16 teams, and although we got 4th place, that was due to skill, warrior is undisputably the worst class right now. There are people higher than me on the leaderboard who are just absolutely terrible or at least worse than me as a player but they play other classes like Thief or Guard that mindlessly get you ranks and get higher. I literally got hardstuck at rank 50 this season despite being #18 S6, and you know what’s funny? I’m still the highest ranked warrior in NA. That’s how bad the class is. You can’t even get past R50. Warrior was pretty average at high tiers last season, but arenanet balanced around bronze through gold and completely destroyed the class at every tier except bronze. They’re never going to balance warrior properly as long as they cater to low level players. Keep playing Thief, otherwise just find a different game, warrior will bring you nothing but frustration.

This sounds like a terrible idea. Why would you want to get married to someone’s character when 1. You’re both probably men behind the screen, 2. You probably don’t know this person, 3. It’s awkward as hell.

People saying rev is bad in PvP aren’t good at PvP. Rev is top tier in PvP and WvW, idk much about raids.

This is toker’s 3rd account in top 10 and he’s saying this for the same reason Katsumi is, because he knows he’ll win every single one. Yes I was salty a couple days ago but I don’t care anymore because I uninstalled. I just want people to know who the OP and you are so perhaps they can develop a different opinion since you two are such valuable and helpful players in the community.

No classes have any build diversity after the expansion. At most some classes like warrior had two builds but now warrior has zero builds because the best warrior build currently gets outperformed by naked revenants.

Necromancer completely and utterly kittens on warrior now in any scenario that isn’t a 1v1 where warrior has zerker stance up (this never happens in real games).

Oh noooooo the most ridiculously overpowered class in the game lost an ability that makes rezzing impossible! THE HORROR!!!

The game has become terrible, I would pay $500 if I could return to 2014 GW2’s meta with the current PvP and WvW tourneys and rewards. Specializations destroyed all build variety and smashed the vision of this game. Leave now before you get addicted and turn this game into a chore.

After seeing arenanet’s hilarious “buffs” today to PvP I decided to express my joy for these wonderful buffs by uninstalling the game. Thanks for the great patch Anet. Warrior is undisputably the worst class right now but you decide to buff rifle and torch instead of changing the defy pain CD or giving back some of warrior’s sustain. My mind is actually blown.

How the kitten is landing a full unload considered skillful? I think that shows more about your opponent’s skill than your own skill if they can’t dodge or block one of the longest channels in the game.

I would actually find this patch pretty fun if it was just a fun experiment that Anet wanted to test during preseason, but we all know the reality. Regardless of how terrible this preseason experiment turns out, the changes won’t be rolled back, we’re going to play with this kitten through the entirety of season 7. GG.

I’m not sure if this is sarcasm but a class being trash tier for X amount of time doesn’t mean that Arenanet should then randomly buff them into god tier so that now everyone else is as miserable as you once were.

Mark my words, every class got nerfed except rev, rev was already seeing high levels of play at the top tier this season, they got sigils that cleanse conditions, sustain got nerfed, this is the end for us boiz.

P.S. Other games ban accounts from competitive when the player has been reported and convicted of griefing more than once. So should GW2.

IDK what games you’re referring to but I don’t know of anything where you get banned for griefing more than once. It’s actually really hard to get perma banned from a game like LoL.

That build is completely terrible and will get demolished by any ACTUALLY good players. Rousing Resilience is a joke, once a decent player sees that you have that trait they’ll just stop using CC and kill you with condi overload. The build doesn’t have enough offensive power to make up for the terrible condi clearing. Boon Duration is useless on warrior, warrior barely uses boons other than zerker stance. Sigil of Impact is a joke, you aren’t supposed to spam Skull Crack, that only works against really bad players.

If you’re having trouble with thieves take bloody roar instead of eternal champion and proc berserker while they’re in the middle of an animation and 1 shot them. Also axe is viable instead of mace. I hit 10k arc dividers regularly vs tanks. I can’t play without signet of might because it completely destroys mesmers and guards but if you want to take something else it’s your choice.

Yup. 50% of the leaderboard is thieves and guards, there are 0 mesmer players in the top 25, the number of rangers this season has gone down significantly, the number of revs in the top 100 has drastically increased (I don’t mind this), and I’m the only warrior main in top 25.

I agree with Toker, there aren’t any “pro” players left in this game and a lot of the former average skill level players have gotten to the same level as the former pros, I don’t mind facing the Abjured every week if it means I get to at least have some competition. You can maybe increase reward spread if one team keeps winning every week, but don’t exclude high level players or this tourney will die just like the rest.

Rev has decent solo DPS when you don’t account for party buffs because it can stack a lot of might by itself and has quickness spam with shiro. With all party buffs though, Revenant has crappy DPS when compared to something like Condi Warrior which has like 33k DPS, since rev’s dps rotation is literally just sword auto attacking and spamming 2 off cooldown.

On the third day of the season I was briefly #2 on the ladder before losing 36 points in a close game. I proceeded to play tilted soloQ and fell to gold.

I was watching one of Helseth’s last streams and as I watched him, probably the best player in the game, regularly lose to kittens, I decided I would take a look into Mesmer. I’ve played Mesmer for a while now and feel that I have strong Mesmer mechanics, yet I’ve never been able to climb on Mesmer. Why is that?

It’s because Mesmer lacks the tools to carry high level games.

Staff condition mesmer has fairly low end damage in general compared to thief and rev, who it competes with, has good mobility but less than thief, is slightly better at teamfights, but when facing an Engi or Ranger, it has low cleave, and Mesmer has ABSOLUTELY NO KILL PRESSURE on people who are running away.

Compared to an ideally played Necro, a Mesmer offers very little other than 1v1 potential and moa, and mesmer still struggles to 1v1 dh and engi, and stalemates ele and ranger most of the time. Mesmer is essentially just a continuum split moa bot and a portal placer.

Buffing Condi Mesmer however, could push it over the edge in terms of strength, so the best solution, and one that I think many would agree with, is to significantly buff POWER SHATTER MESMER, making it able to compete with Rev and Thief as a roamer while offering greater utility, but less damage. We need to return to the good old 2014 shatter meta where mesmer actually did damage and could carry games in the way that a thief could, rather than push far, leave portal, run mid, moa, go far, only to have your team wipe.

Seriously though, I don’t think anyone in this thread could actually beat Maygi in a 1v1 because the only build with enough condi clear and damage to actually KILL that is Acro staff thief. I don’t lose to Maygi 1v1 unless I have to start typing in chat, which I do all the time when I face her because my team will constantly +1 home and I have to scream at them to leave, meanwhile I get 20 bleeds and have to run or die. The issue isn’t that I lose 1v1, the issue is that I’m perpetually trolled at home by an idiot that’s pressing 3 buttons while my pugs constantly +1 me.

Also, WvW doesn’t apply because in WvW you don’t have to cap points. I could stand off point and kite and eventually I would kill the DD condi thief, but in PvP that would take so long that the game would be over and they would hold the cap the whole time.

There’s a certain player on the NA leaderboard who I won’t name, although everyone knows this person. This person is fairly low skill and only employs one strategy regardless of enemy comp or team comp, yet this person is very high on the ladder. Why? It’s because of their build: DD condi 3 spam thief. This build is one of the lowest skill builds in the game, yet has very high reward, because even if it doesnt win 1v1, idiots will still +1 it all game. Anet shouldn’t allow builds that press 3 buttons (Steal, Dodge, 3) to be so effective and carry players into the top 10. It’s too late for this season, but for next season this build needs to be removed from viability.

There was an incredibly intense, high stake PvP scene of 10 people that made different teams out of the same 10 people. Thankfully, most of those players are gone now, and ESL has been dropped, so maybe ANet can stop wasting money on 10 players and actually create something cool such as AUTOMATED TOURNAMENTS that can bring large amounts of players back. Gem tournaments don’t require ANet to spend money, so it’s low effort, high reward.

I agree. Yesterday I almost lost a 4v5 because a certain Ranger on my team who was likely low gold/high silver (I’m Plat BTW) lost beast twice and got decapped, and died before me in every 2v2 when I was playing Revenant. There are games like that where, even if I had Sindrener and Misha on my team, it would still have been insanely difficult due to some of the matchmaking decisions that are made by the system.

I barely play PvE and I was able to finish the Caudecus fight in full exotic berserker’s Ranger with Black Bear and Fern Hound with 3 Runes of Strength and 1 Sigil of Air on my Greatsword. I only died twice.

I don’t understand your issue.
