How about fixing the manifold issues with the existing implementation before sticking more stuff on? From on-map communications issues, to bots & hacks, griefing, and accurately tracking people’s worlds and achievements, there’s a great deal of stuff now that doesn’t work. Six help us all if you try to add anything more to such an unstable foundation.
If anything actually does get implemented; CDI should stand for Cosmetic Developer Interaction, because it only appears to be actual bidirectional communication as opposed to the busywork it feels like.
Never mind the iceberg… I think the deck chairs look quite nice organized this way…
I thought people said the TP was a Catastrophie, not a Bear- whups, almost got infracted there.

Healing power, +XP, +Karma, and Sugar Rush (a speed boost; however, it seems to go away if you’re downed or zone)
Now, If I could collectTrophies from Champions and Bosses from across Tyria and put them up in my Home Instance (after crafting them, of course), well…
I’d be happier than a Skritt in a glitter factory.
I felt bad for days after not picking Whispers on my main, just because he seemed so sad and rejected afterwards…! Aw.
That, and he’s hot.Don’t get the Jennah support btw. Anise I totally understand, she’s hot. But Jennah’s totally basic… guys, really!? xD
I can think of a couple reasons…
Milwaukee area here on Fort Aspenwood!
Obviously the solution to one up other states is to make a guild with only Wisconsinites!
I can only imagine the voice chat sounding like Skritt and Quaggan debating…
/with love from Chicago.
Someone else posted a good trick a while back that was confirmed by others to work. Just tried searching but couldn’t find it, maybe someone here remembers…
It was something along the lines of being able to use three level 70 rares (which were significantly cheaper since they are below the ecto salvage min) and one level 80 exotic could make precursors and was significantly cheaper than buying four level 75+ exotics or rares.
Mind you, that might not have been the exact trick, but it was close to that so I’m hoping it sparks someones memory that can recall more accurately or remembers the name of the thread.
That would be classified as an Exploit; the Forge is supposed to require 4 items of the same rarity.
Logan Thackeray. Seriously.
Have you seen his belt?
A pity most of his thought processes seem to occur below said belt…
Seriously We need to be ABLE TO INSPECT PEOPLE TO SEE WHAT MOFO IS MAGIC FIND LEECHER AND Slows DOWN THe dungeon runs by 9000000%
Forget dps meters just add Inspect Nothing else i really wanna se how many of those a holes exist
Because finishing the last boss in 7 minutes is sooooo much more draining than finishing him in 5.
What’s next? “OMG! He’s watching the cutscene! KICK HIM!”
Sounds like a First World Gamer Problem to me…
“Lodestones only stack to 250! WHY, ANET? WHY?”
Fine. But a player’s DPS should be visible to the player ONLY.
Say NO to Playerbase Fracturing.
Rare is much cheaper, but a lower probability, as first it (probably, YMMV) has to roll to see if it’s going to upgrade, then roll again to see what it’ll upgrade to.
Same is SUPPOSED to return same type, same rarity or a chance of better.
Different is SUPPOSED to return random type, same rarity or better.
However, it has been reported, on more than one occasion, that the Forge will sometimes demote items, return a torch for 4 rifles, or sometimes give nothing in return.

‘They’ refuse to answer, as any answer would ‘give botters hints on how to circumvent the DR code’. You know, the hundreds of botters / ‘porters flickering all over the maps? The ones who AREN’T sitting at their computer trying to honestly collect enough mats to make an ‘end-game’ item? The ones ‘they’ have claimed to reduce the numbers of?
Magic Find is apparently seriously misfiring at this time, especially if you’re between 100-200% (according to reports). Personally, I’ve noticed that since I’ve dropped all but 3% of my MF (and that from the Karka Earring) two weeks ago, I’ve gone from poor drops to bags of blues, greens, dyes, and so forth in open world. I’ve also seen Fracs go from generic yellows (‘Sword’, ‘Trident’, etc) to named yellows and oranges, simply from going from 9-3% MF (Dropped the Exo Opal for Ruby Amulets).
Again, the plural of ‘anecdote’ is not ‘data’, but I’ve personally seen improvements by stashing all my MF gear in the bank.
A better way is to either:
1) Use your Bank, if they’re on the same account
2) Create a Guild, have both toons join / represent, and use the Guild Bank

I would go on but it smells like my daughter has a present for me in her diaper.

…Be very careful when asking for ‘Added Content’.
In all of my time MMOing, I’ve never seen the population of a game come to dislike a single person more. She’s been blamed for everything from the WoW cloning of this game with introduction of the ascended gear treadmill to the reason dye drop rates are total crap. The Nov 15th patch, this game’s version of the Star Wars Galaxies NGE patch, could be renamed the “Cox Patch” and I doubt many here would bat an eyelash :-P
Either she is the worst human being to ever attempt to put their hands in the MMO cookie jar, or she just has some really bad luck. =D
It appears that she’s hit the DR limit for compassion; perhaps she should unequip her MF (Money Find) gear. Or perhaps she just ‘Perceives’ the loss of love here, and everything is really Working As Intended…
There are Home Instances?
The missing skins are available from Evon Gnashblade, in the AH in LA, if you get a Ticket as a Rare drop. Of course, they’re all bound.
Aproposs Of Fire – So, you’re suggesting that, somehow, the server-side is saying ‘The roll indicates a yellow-80’ and the client-side is saying ’Here’s a Porous Bone.’? Really? Because that would indicate far more serious problems.

Since ANet obviously cannot tell us what variables they need information on (because of cheaters, bots and exploiters taking advantage of the information) we’ll need to give them as detailed info as we can:
- What mob did you kill,
- what did the mob drop, if anything,
- include outliers also! (this means if you got something good, do not hide it from the report to make your drops look worse)
- what other mobs were in the area,
- how many other player characters were in the area,
- what server are you on,
- what time of day did the drop happen,
- what zone are you in,
- what was the last mob you killed and in which zone,
- how long were you in this zone,
- how long were you in the last zone?
Things like these would be more useful IF Anet is trying to revolutionize the MMO drop paradigm. Yes, they can get these data themselves and I will tell you they are. But they need more complete data that only we can give them. Otherwise they are only working with what they can see and NOT what you are seeing.
Consider this an open beta test to make drops in GW2 and MMOs in general more fair and useful.
FWIW.

ArenaNet should already have all this information as part of their metrics. The only way they wouldn’t would be if:
1) There is no or incomplete logging of events, drop rolls, etc. (This is a possibility, based on the fact that the system cannot seem to detect a problem in a character collecting from a node every second via ‘port hacks when nodes are too far apart for ’normal’ players to accomplish this.)
2) Drop rolls are being done client-side for some reason. (!)
3) ArenaNet already has all this information, and this is all distraction-based make-work to give people something to do that appears useful. (Tinfoil hats aside, the timing of this does make one wonder…)
Any of the choices would result in a facepalm of epic proportions. I bought a game (and a good many gems, as well) to play Guild Wars 2 in Tyria, not to play Log Server 2012. I already have a character in EVE when I’m in the mood for spreadsheets.

I… I really don’t know how to reply in a manner that isn’t as condescending as the question was.
At some point, widely reported as 15 Nov., adjustments were made to loot tables, ostensibly to increase rewards for Open World Vets and Champs. There was also a doinked Dye drop bit in there, but we’ll let that pass as dyes are 95% cosmetic. Granted, the other 5% is Bifrost…
Instead of having the intended effect, players widely reported – far in excess that could be explained by mere RNG – that rewards actually decreased after the ‘increase’. Players also reported that DR – also ostensibly there to combat ‘botters’ and ‘farmers’ (We’ll leave the fact that many recipies instituted in the game require hundreds of mats of a particular type, and then punish players who actually try to gather these mats themselves with DR, for another discussion.) follows players from mob type to mob type, from map to map, and in some cases from day to day – all such actions at odds with the ‘as reported’ DR mechanic.
Time goes by, with an AMA that could have charitably been described as in the running for ‘Best Waltz Around A Subject’ for the World Ballroom Dance Championships, with ArenaNet admitting they’re trying to dodge the issue, with a halfhearted ‘promise’ to check logs, and assorted other handwavery and oralgami.
More time goes by, hundreds more posts added to a thread – which, despite merges and moves, became a clearance house for data regarding this problem.
All of a sudden, after a month of being ignored, there’s a Red Response (The fact that said response occured on the Fri Afternoon just before an extended Holiday Weekend shall be left for conspiracy speculators to ponder.) calling into question the ‘perceptions’ of hundreds of posters, requesting players collect data that ArenaNet already has in their logs, purporting a lack of problem regardless of the hundreds of reports otherwise, and pointing to a ‘New’, stickied thread, complete with a newly spun title. Shortly thereafter, that thread, with over 1200 replies, many containing the ‘data’ requested, gets locked, coincidentally causing it to drop off the front page.
tl;dr: It appears that after a month of trying to kick a problem under a rug, complainers are given a makework assignment to duplicate existing data, in the hopes they’ll just shut up and accept the new Status Quo. Meanwhile, Dragons rarely drop Green+, Champs and Vets rarely drop anything, Orr’s Temples will remain (At least on SF, which given it’s low WvW rank and ‘High Population’ should be a PvE Powerhouse.) contested (uncorrected event bugs and quick recontesting aside), and dungeons will be completed more for the coin & the tokens than the drops. But, hey, at least LA is almost always on overflow, and the ringing refrains of ‘LF2G Frac 16’ can be heard throughout the land.
