Anyone else remember the gleeful posts 2 weeks ago of “R.I.P. BG” and “BG Is dead and will be in tier 3 in a few weeks” over and over? The death of BG has been claimed so many times now that I’ve lost count. And BG has proven them wrong, every kitten time.

I already know this thread is going to receive a lot of hate so I just want to point out that I love GW2 and I DONT want to go play WoW. – Be constructive with your comments please.

Ask yourself, why do people still play WoW?
-RBG
-Arena
-Raids (PVE), Arenanet does do a lot of keep the PVE players interested, such as guild bounties, open world events, fractals, etc…

If WoW didn’t have all three of those, the game would be DEAD.

GW2 Lacks long term competitiveness in PvP.

What do I want? (Arenas/some time of TDM/killing gametype)
-I want Arenas because it isn’t dependant on POINTS to win. Playing in sPVP is fun and all, but sometimes I just want to kill. Sure I can run around in WvW and kill, but who wants to run around and run into a zergball and get kitten
-Arenas are also a separation of players by skill because they are fair fights and rating can prove one’s skill over another.
-Arenas would be such a good ad to this game because it is straight up fair player vs player fighting, without having to worry about the game-mode.

WvW is great, but the winner is determined by Points/Coverage, not skill.

The current state of WvW is getting REALLY boring because it is so lop sided and not fair at all.

Why should it NOT be added? It would only give that much more to GW2, whats the point of not implementing it into the game?

Basically, give the more hardcore players some love because they will be a huge part of your long term playerbase.

Is anything going to be done about this? It’s so easy for 1 person to drain 600++ supply from a keep by simply ordering hire services/crap upgrade that isn’t needed at the time.

We just got hire services and merchents hired at both our towers and garrison, moments before we got zerged by the enemy.

It’s quite pathetic really.

Thread Solution: Upgrading becomes a voting system, like choosing a dungeon path.

Another idea: Show the account name of the player.

The problem isn’t with the rating system, it’s with the scoring system.

The winners are determined by coverage and numbers, combining the EU and NA servers (WvW wise) into half the servers there are now would diminish those dead-zone periods where 1 server gains superiority over the others (gaining points, making enemy places paper, and upgrading their own to T3 for the next time-zone).

Change the game from the winner winning by numbers to the winner winning by skill.

I’m sure this will reply will be ignored though, like every other reply.

Guilds like TW, TWL Choo, IRON, TYSM have members that transfered parts of their guilds to JQ and been taking up spaces in WvW just to have Guild vs Guild. They are ruining the Que’s for those who actually care to WvW. I doubt anything will be done but I’d like to pass the info out to the rest of SoR and JQ in why you are having longer que times.

Aren’t you the same kid that runs around with your commander tag on 100% of the time, even though no one is following you?

We are currently in 5th place and going to be 4th place next week so we will be the next server to be pulled into tier 1.

Our NA crew is unstoppable, but we lack Euros/Oceanics.

Our current Night crew is NA players staying up all night. We are looking for Oceanic or Night time players to transfer before payed transfers.

We use a server Team Speak with over 10 different guilds and hundreds of people on at all times.

Farming for Legendary is rediculous.

I have been farming for my legendary pretty hardcore over the past few weeks (farmed passively since the beginning of the game) and I just get sad when I look at the list of items I still need for the Legendary.

So far I farmed EVERYTHING that is non-gold related. Karma/Skill Points/Badges/Tokens/Exploration/etc..

Roughly adding up the remaining materials I need that are gold related, it looks like I’ll need around 500-600gold, maybe more.

That is just ridiculous. I have like 50gold, 75 gold tops (if I sold everything).

What do you think the % of gold buying players is for those who own a legendary? I think at least 90% of them bought gold. 7% got a pre-cursor early on, and the rest either got funded by their guild or got lucky with a few precursor drops.

Farming it should not be based on luck. The only way I see my self getting a legendary is by getting really lucky by getting a precursor drop, and still it will be hard to get.

Lets face it, almost no one cares about sPVP.

GW2 needs that competitiveness that will keep those competitive players interested because the winner of WvW is not detemined by skill.

The name of the game is GUILD WARS, why isn’t there cross server GvG Arenas?

I think ranking/leaderboard system that shows the skill of your guild would be appealing to many players.

-All spirits can now be launched, knocked down, and knocked back.

This was a bug fix which now will allow more counter-play when fighting spirits.

-Storm Spirit, Frost Spirit, Sun Spirit, Stone Spirit, and Spirit of Nature will now begin their recharge when the spirit dies instead of when the spirit is summoned.

-Storm Spirit, Frost Spirit, Sun Spirit, and Stone Spirit: Recharge has been reduced from 60 seconds to 25 seconds.

-Spirit of Nature: Recharge has been reduced from 240 seconds to 180 seconds.

Previously you were able to pre-cast spirits before a fight so that when they would die you could instantly re-summon them. This made it feel like there was little to no counter play. Players could take the time to AOE them down simply to have to deal with another set of spirits. These changes were made so that there is a time window where the ranger will be without spirits once they die. Since the spirits now die after their duration, we had to reduce the recharge to compensate. In fights where they are dying often, the shorter recharge is a buff.

Solar Flare: Fixed a bug so this skill no longer applies a duplicate infinite duration blind.

This was a simple bug fix removing unintended functionality.

Just like Mesmer clones? They can keep up 3 clones constantly. You fight the entire time trying to single target the Mesmer down because it’s impossible to kill all the clones in time before they refresh some new ones. Not to mention they go in and out of stealth so you lose your target (tab target blows), so you have to try and click with your mouse. I’ll 1v1 people on my Mesmer literally only using the #1 and #2 on the staff and win 100% of the time.

Thief? Goes in and out of stealth and can leave a fight whenever he or she pleases. Trying to 1v1 a thief in spvp or wvw is useless because they literally CANNOT lose if they just run away.

Wtf does Ranger have? A kittened pet that will chase a person forever getting 1 or 2 hits in if you are lucky. Signets have stupid cooldowns and terrible passive effects. Spirits are dog kitten now. Traps are boring and horrible.

I think it is pretty stupid to have a gear set dedicated to farming/playing the game in PVE.

Whenever I do dungeons/Cursed Shore/Fractals/any PVE I can’t even use my real set because I have to use Magic Find to hope for better drops.

I don’t like this farming mentality of a Magic Find set…

-Make it so it doesn’t affect healing skills or dodge roll.

The immaturity level of the SoR community is astounding.

The only thing SoR manages to win is third place, just like last week & the week before that… I’ve gotta give it to you though, you do have a strong weekend warrior crew largely composed of 12-17 y/o gamers which is why you aren’t able to perform up to T1 standards during the weekday and probably why your server doesn’t get any transfers. The whole being mushed into 1 huge zerg ball bouncing from map to map together is a pretty good strat for your server, really shows your all about quantity over quality.

(P.S. that post is probably the most mature comment I’ve seen coming from an SoR player, especially the “wambulance” part; lol very classy. Keep up the good fights kids.)

Problem with Ascended Accessory

Why is there only 2 ways of getting these?

1) 12 Commendations + 5 Gold
2) 40 Laurels + 50 Ectos

-This is very frustrating because commendations/laurels are account bound currency that I need to use on multiple characters.

I recently changed my builds on 2 of my 80’s and I need to replace 4 accessories…equally out to 36 commendations and 40 laurels for 4 pieces.

I don’t care about the gold or ectos I need because I can farm all day every day to get that, but I am limited to the amount of laurels or commendations I can get per week.

I can only get 5 commendations per week and 7 laurels per week (10 for monthly) so starting from nothing it will take me 8 weeks to get all the accessories I need for my 2 characters? 2 MONTHS?!!? Then when I finally get the pieces a patch will make me have to change my build again…

Just to clarify:

It’s actually significantly cheaper than a sub fee. The $20 you spend is the initial cost. It could also cost $10 + Gold, or no money at all if you have enough gold.

Once you have a server, it costs 480 gems for 20 days, 960 for 40 days, 1440 for 60 days. That’s less than $10/mo if only one person is supporting the server. Anyone can apply time to servers. Also, don’t forget you can convert gold to gems.

The WvW Point Reset

I’m all for the reset, but I don’t think ALL the servers should have been reset to equal ratings.

Some servers in the lower tiers are going to KILL their opponents, granting them TONS of points, thus moving them up to tier 1 from tier 7.

Tier 1 servers have to work hard for points against the top notch servers and they will won’t even be able to maintain their high rating.

I think the Tiers should have gotten different rating resets…

For example:
Tier 1: 1500
Tier 2: 1400
Tier 3: 1300

etc… (Obviously its not a perfect suggestion, but it’s not fair to the servers that are already up top and will have to spend the next 2 months earning all their points back/having BORING WvW matchups.)

I know this isn’t accurate on reset, but look at the current future match ups: http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA

The way the system is now, say JQ wins tier 1, they might go to Tier 4, SoR comes in 2nd they might go to Tier 5, and SoS might go to Tier 6.

The winning servers from Tier 4,5, and 6 might destroy their lower ranked oppenents and move straight to tier 1.

Do you understand what I’m saying? This needs to be fixed.

Not only are the titles above players annoying, but the extremely and unnecessarily long name players are unneeded.

TBH Names should just say “Invader [Tag]” and it should be the color of your server’s place (red/blue/green).

I can’t even see in a 30+vs30+ zerg fight because you see “Sanctum of Rall Invader [Tag]” and it covers your entire screen. Seriously…

All siege disappeared in SoR garrison because it was superior. SoR had no resistance taking back their garrison. So sick of these resets.

Same happened to us in your Garrison. Except we facerolled your zerg while having 4 walls down and the inner gate at <10%
