Agreed, I have an Asura ranger and its dead cute when stood next to a giant bear.. sometimes when I jump on ledges or fences my pet stands underneath and it looks like I’m standing on it… so cute!
Also I have recently discovered how cute it looks with a greatsword, especially the animation when its walking looks like its too heavy to carry

No Wintersday weapon skins this year?

Yeah I was looking forward to a (better) chance at getting those skins since I missed Wintersday last year. I may have to resort to more Black Lion Keys.. so far I have only 3 claim scraps and I need 5 FULL tickets to buy one .. that’s the equivalent of 50 scraps

So I got Dusk and The Lover drop after a few days gambling in the forge (800k karma for the former, 40g for the latter) I’ve decided that perhaps I am destined for a legendary after all! Gave the Dusk to my boyfriend so he could get twilight (its his xmas present) so its become a bit of a friendly race to legendary

Progress so far

  • Selling the lover to get leaf of kudzu, because I don’t want rainbows!
  • 250 obsidian shards away from gift of mastery – already had most of the gift from playing generally so that was easy
  • still farming t6 mats, and some generous donations from guildies
  • farming wood for gift of wood, got my weaponsmith to 400 and leatherworker is halfway there.

So there’s a chance I might have it early 2014 I guess..

My 1st precursor dropped today and it was...

1million karma’s worth of rares in the forge got me dusk, and then 40gold in the forge got me the lover how’s that for luck? wasn’t going to make a legendary before but now it seems daft not to!

I’m not saying the game is perfect, and I appreciate constructive criticism where its valid and rationally debated, but if a game really grieved me as much as people claim GW2 does, then I just stop playing and find something else to do with my time. Is that not the normal thing to do?

I’ve been reading these forums for a while, and responding to a few, and it seems the general consensus is that Anet can’t do right and there’s a lot to complain about.

Personally I really enjoy this game, I’ve tackled the content that took my fancy and ignored that which didn’t. I’ve more than got my money’s worth from what I paid and I really enjoy the social aspect since I joined a guild.
I come on here to share opinions with other players and I find it really disheartening to see constant negative threads. I do see the occasional positive/constructive one and I appreciate those, so thumbs up to those!

So really it boils down to one query from me:
If this game is really so bad then why are you people still playing ? It makes the forums less enjoyable for players like me who genuinely like the game.

Gemstore or Subscription

Ravenmorghane.9287

I will never play a subscription game, I admit I’m a kitteneap like that (over half my wages goes on a mortgage these days so I try to be thrifty)
I get plenty of entertainment for the amount I’ve paid for this game. I never feel obligated to buy anything from the gemstore, nothing from there ‘completes’ the game in any way. If i see something on it that I really want I save up gold and buy gems. I enjoy everything I choose to do, and if something doesn’t look good I just don’t do it. I think a lot of people expect something for nothing these days, maybe because they’ve been brought up in a very spoiled generation.

Happy birthday GW2, first full year played and very glad I did. Considering this game only cost me £35 I’ve more than got my moneys worth, I’ve paid more for things that have entertained me a lot less.
To me it seems this game is what you make it. I’ve joined a guild and made some friends and we have a great time. Its difficult to please everybody but they work hard to keep it interesting.
As for the people whinging about their birthday gift – how ridiculous. Everyone wants something for nothing these days. I was brought up to be grateful for anything I was given, however small it seemed.

I was chucking rares in the forge, found a couple in the inventory that I didn’t remember looting and just thought ‘oo more loot’ …. afterwards remembered they were my alternate weapons … edjit XD not a massively expensive mistake I suppose but still duh

I do feel for you guys making super expensive/non fixable gakitten though, I’m sure I’ll end up the same way some time!

Edit – gakitten is supposed to read the word ‘g a kitten ’ but apparently that qualifies for censoring XD hah

Edit edit – forum still won’t let me display this word even with gaps, its not even remotely a cuss word ….

I see a bit of both in the community, I think the point is saying thanks to the (possibly majority?) who are helpful, kind and just fun to talk to / play with. I have come accross, and seen examples of, some really amiable gamers and on the whole my experience has been great

I managed to finish this post with a strait face despite all the innuendo I accidentally wrote. o_O

Most of the stuff they added after launch was lacklustre and not exactly something to be super proud of. The SAB was the only exception and that was temporary.

So tired of reading all the kittening about.. how this sucks.. or I want this… Or do this.. Or do that…. Can’t you people appreciate the fact that your playing the best MMO out there?

I can understand the fact that you want them to excel….

But really?

Can you people say thanks? Is it that flippin hard?

Just Sayin…..

That is all….

I was wondering: Do you clap when the plane you’re on lands successfully?

Actually if you’ve ever been on a particularly difficult flight (massive turbulance, difficult landing etc) you DO clap the pilot …
Assuming you have a job, do you not feel good when someone just thanks you for it? you’re not doing your job as a favour, you’re doing it to get paid but its nice to be thanked or told you did a good job.

I agree with the sentiment of saying something positive amongst the sea of whinging “criticism” (ok granted some of it is constructive, but you have to admit a lot of it really isn’t)
I appreciate the hard work that has gone into this game. I keep coming back to it, the graphics are really lovely and I’ve had lots of fun with my guildies, made some good friends out of it. They are doing a good job of bringing in fresh stuff all the time and they must be doing something right because we’re still playing.

I’ve just replied to a thread similar to this.
I was quite enjoying this game before, completing maps and levelling up, then I joined a big guild and the game content massively opened up for me. I’ve done dungeons and events I never thought I would be good enough to do, and my ability at gaming has improved greatly. We have a great laugh and play drinking games in dungeons.
At the moment I find its best to have a goal or an aim, maybe google the titles and pick one to go for.
I guess it is what you make it

What should I do next...?

Ravenmorghane.9287

I agree with Karizee, I find the game much more fun playing with others, so I joined a bigger guild (because my original guildies stopped playing) and have since enjoyed it massively. We do guild missions, dungeons and fractals, jumping puzzles, random events and exploration, and a fun drinking game that we’ve devised.
We also pick goals, titles, target gear or items to achieve and help each other to get them.

People get so complacent of video games. There’s loads of stuff to do imo. Always reminds me of a song called Flagpole Sitta “if you’re bored then you’re boring” rings so true of western society.

Correct me if I am wrong please, but I am pretty sure this has been fixed.

As the dungeon starter, if you disconnect then your group will remain in the dungeon as long as they keep your disconnected character in the party. What kicked them out of the dungeon was them removing you from the party. I’ve had this happen before when I didn’t realise the disconnected person that I was kicking from group was in fact the dungeon starter.
Like i say I could be wrong but I’m a little sure about it.

Legendary Bows....

I’m a girl and they’re too girly for me! I guess they are just trying to appeal to the female player base perhaps? Would be nice for a slightly less vomity legendary bow alternative. Actually in total I think the bows got the least love in terms of designs, shortbow particularly. Which is annoying because its my favourite weapon to play with XD.
I use corrupted bow instead, or the 8bit one, and have my eyes on wintersbark .

I love overhearing the NPC conversations, some make me giggle. There was one between 2 humans, I think in Kessex Hills, and they were talking about a tongue twister that went: “how much grog could a quaggan quaff if a quaggan could quaff grog”
Also the little argument between 2 Asuran kids somewhere in Metrica Province (or maybe Rata Sum? I forget)

Other players who spend all their time whining about how much they hate the game either in game or forum.. and yet continue to play. Or for some strange reason sit on these forums spouting off pointless threads about what they don’t like.

Seriously, if you don’t like playing this game, you do remember there is a whole world of other activities to do, games to play, friends to spend time with (or perhaps not?)
I happen to enjoy this game very much, and if i didn’t you wouldn’t find me on here whining about why I’m dramatically quitting and spouting off a list of reasons why.

Can we PLEASE rotate the colours more?

in WvW

Posted by: Ravenmorghane.9287

Ravenmorghane.9287

Personally I am glad I had to go into WvW to get some map completion, it got me having a go and getting involved in something I might have shied away from otherwise. We’ve been stuck on green for a while now and I’m kicking myself for not having completed blue side when I had the chance. I didn’t realise they were changing the way it was rotated and now I’m stuck on 99% and the things I need I can count on one hand I have got involved with pushes against blue fortresses and keeps, and managed to get some completion from that, but there are things that our server are very unlikely to attack and I am at the mercy of either other people on my server, or the colour rotation. I am glad to hear they are thinking of changing the colour rotation.

Ravenmorghane.9287

Hi
My partner and I are both looking for a friendly active pve guild on Gunnar’s Hold. We are young adults in mid 20s, both have level 80 characters and are fairly decent players with decent (rare / exotic) gear.

We are currently part of a guild of friends which, although we get on well, unfortunately has lapsed into being so casual that we never actually do anything. We are both looking to doing dungeons, fractals and possibly some WvW. We have both completed a dungeon before, Xarilith has tried WvW but I myself have not yet. We would both really like to though.

We are friendly social people who enjoy playing gw2 with others (more than alone, because its more fun) and we really want a try at getting the dungeon rewards. We both have a cheeky sense of humour and both have headsets so we can talk while playing. A guild on Gunnar’s Hold would be preferable as it saves any transfer hassle.

Please give us a try. We’d prefer to join a guild together as we’ve always played together, compliment eachother well and we make people laugh
