Hi,
It would be really awesome if I could get an invite, I have the commander tag and am willing to coordinate in teamspeak.
I am terrified to see how bad this will look on charr
Agree 100%, this is some poetic stuff
I see absolutely no reason to do that, besides a few kittens complaining about it being too hard, It’s like Anet are trying to dig themselves an even deeper grave :/

No need to bother any more, as it is getting REPLACED by the new dungeon path :/
With all the issues with overflows and guesting regarding the Tequatl fight lately, many suggest moving the boss fight into an instance and making it a proper raid. I completely agree with them and have come up with the following idea:
I really liked the Claw Island battle in the personal story and think it is a phenomenal map that really shouldn’t go to waste and could be re-used this way. Tequatl attacks Claw Island in the personal story already, so they could just say that the Liounguard need help repelling another attack and have a ship waiting in sparkly fen that takes you there. They could just move the cannons and batteries there easily since there is enough space on the island and wouldn’t require that much work compared to what they would achieve (the Devs that is). This would make it much easier to organise proper raids for guilds.
Since this will not happen as Anet is not willing to change that much in their game I am just leaving this here as a suggestion for future updates. Maybe one day we will get a proper raid.
Strenght in numbers trait says 150 toughnes in trait selection screen but it still says 70 in toolbar.
A staff that changes colour based on your attunment.
How would you like that?
Maybe just something basic like changing the colour of the crystal atop the simple/starter staff, or maybe something more complex.

It has been discussed before:
and here you can compare all the Orr temple armors:
If you like to solo roam, then Norn racial elite skill snow leopard gives you 2x stealth. It will save your life many times, and a side treat: stealing those chests without a fight.
Still among top 3 in the market IMO.
Glad to see some positive threads once in a while.
I’m abit sad about empty low lvl zones tho. This game needs at least global chat or some reason for people to stay in those zones for a long time.
Yes, true,
solution?
make those idle champions roaming around drop rare mats and ascendant gear with infusion slots.
I’m a warrior main and moa morph is definitely hands down the most op skill as far as I know. the first time I was morphed in WvWvW, and I was running around thinking; wtf, what, where? help! I’m a chicken now!
Hundred blades only works on zombies, nothing to see here, move along.

What part of this new patch is difficult to understand? for some people like me, grinding for legendaries is not an option and having full exotics gear is getting closer as a goal, so the ascendant tier is the new legendary tier for casual players.
I estimate I will need at least a year if not more to be just partially geared in ascendant gear.
But since I intend to continue to play even longer, I have no problem with this.In a year the bar will have moved and you will have to start grinding divine tier gear with agony mk.2 resist, or actually by the time a year has passed we will probably be on to super-divine tier with agony mk.3 resist.
The content locusts they are now catering to will NEVER be happy with just this, they will play 18 hours a day and gobble it all up in a month and whine for more.
If this really is an issue, then by all means we ( anti-locust majority) have to tell them that ascendant tier will have to suffice for the next 5 years to come.
Or else…

I hope warriors will have them too. I’m curious what will be other back pieces.
I never liked this kind of threads in any previous games I played, so neither do now. complaining about other classes but your own. I simply don’t see any logic behind this kind of thinking. I you picked on thief, that would be understandable, everyone is complaining about them. But warriors? go check the warriors forum, and tell them there to nerf warriors.
Every class has it cons and pros, you can’t just pick one and bash it.
Except maybe the thief
Not so soon, there will pass a lot of time before some people are fully geard with the new gear. And majority of players will still be just on exotic level.

Of course Anet will eventually give use the whole armor and trinket set in Ascendant tier. That was implied in their blog if you carefully read it.
That was the basic idea, to introduce a tier of gear that would fill the void between the exotic and the legendary for those who have exotics but don’t want to or have no time to grind for legendary. For casual players essentially.
So they changed their initiall concept of gear tiers as we used to know them until now, to satisfy the call for a change that was coming from the community as we could all witness through the numerous threads on this forum.
So here you have it now, be thankfull, after all you didn’t have to spend a single dime for it, and the community wanted it.

It would be more interesting if there were some reason to fight.
Like if we fight for our orders, for example all Vigil members against all Whisper members.
After all they fought once allready in the past. so why don’t we recreate that past of guild/order wars in WWW?
We would put on our order helmets or whole sets of order armor, those who have it, for some visual identification point and go fight for the glory of our order.
That would be more inspiring and in the line of the lore of GW2 than some anonymous esport match-making.
Because it has no factions and I can’t associate a fantasy video game to some hyped novelty like eSport.
Red team vs Blue team? Really? What’s the point?
If I go there at all I simply want to finish off as many players as possible, I don’t care for the game objectives, it’s to “esporty” for my taste.
If there would be enemies for a reason, then I could identify with the game’s objectives. I need a story to go along.
Video games are not for sports, they are for the fun and imagination and some memorable moments.

Your question here is not really addressed to the community as it is to Anet. It’s not even a question but an explanation why you think this game is boring to you. It’s criticism in disguise of a rhetorical question, that has been posted by many other people before. But that’s ok, maybe Anet will hear you and will make this game more hardcore friendly. /sarcasm on.
But if I pretend for a moment, that I take your question seriously, than I would suggest you try paid tournaments in spvp. Anet specifically declared that those are designed for the hardcore and semiprofessional players.

This would be very good for the game, populating the first 2 starting zones with f2p players would make the world feel more live and busy. I don’t know if Anet really thinks they need f2p mode to attract more people. But when 1st expansion hits the stores, beginning areas will be dead empty.
How about playing the bad guys, you know, The Svanir guys, Flame legion etc. Could be a nice change of perspective on the game, might bring in/back some players.
There’s allways the option of turning the fused skills off for PVP. But the problem of dungeons being too hard( for a minority of players who are not that skilled yet) falls off.
(edited by Reclusiarh.2674)
Normally you would fuse skills that work together well, for a warrior for example – a shout and a healing skill, or shield stance and endure pain. you get stronger basic utility skill, that’s all.
Imagine Fuse as a way of using two skills simultaneously, how is that overpowered? The rest of the utility skills are not effected when you use fusion, they works normally.
You can create a new elite skill, not yet, but here’s how it could work:
We need more elite skills, right now most of them, especially racial elite skills are too weak, to be considered elite.
I propose this unique but very simple and brilliant mechanic for the new elite skills.
Take two utility skills, any two skills, ordinary or elite, even the healing and racial ones and fuse them in one single skill. This skill, which is now your new elite skill, when activated, then triggers the abilities of both previous skills, now merged into one, in a logical sequence.
In this way players would create many unique elite skills, that would fit their personal way of playing, favorite weapons and personal builds.
Every combat now suddenly becomes a challenge, because you can never predict, which fusion ( the tag for merged elite skills) is the player going to use.
Acquiring of the fusion: with every unused skill point you can create one fusion. All old skills stay as they are, you only gain one new elite skill to use in the elite skill slot.
So, people are already grinding, some have the legendaries and some don’t even want them. Which is understandable, because they are no different in stats than ordinary weapons. They look nice, but that’s about it.
But what if we could strive for legendary items that do have some effect in the game.
Not on the combat thou, so people that own them can’t be superior to other players.
For example:
Waterproof boots, they enable the person that wears them to freely walk on any water.
Such items would be more desirable than purely cosmetic ones, I think.
(edited by Reclusiarh.2674)
We need more treasure chests in game, make it worth exploring, right now, map completion for some of us isn’t attractive enough.
For a warrior I would say we desperately need an elite skill associated with shield, to make it more usefull, right now it’s the last choice on the weapon list.
Hold the line, shield stance: for 4-10 seconds you are invulnerable to all physical attacks, you can move only forward, also every ally behind you gets 50% of that protection too. cd 40secs.
If they ever add mounts, then I would love to have a yak, strong and fierce looking for my Norn warrior.
So what animal for a mount would fit your character/race ?
let’s spice this thread a bit
But, honestly, wait to the 15th.
GS and axes are getting nerfed to the ground, almost guaranteed.
Well if they do this, they can also cut off my right hand as well, because I won’t be needing it any more. I can wipe my behind with the left one.
InB4 delete.
What he said. I will add that axe/shield and axe/mace are great wep combos for Orr. And skills Stomp and Fear me are essential for loosing the mob trains when you run through.
I don’t know for sure, but you can use healing shouts defensive build and GS/ x wep combo. 30 in defense and 30 in tactics offer many bunker possibilities.
So, am I the only Norn here, using the Snow leopard stealth in case of emergency? It saved me many deaths, including some from those backstabbing misfits.
Further solutions to make Orr less annoying:
-fix bugged events, especially the annoying catapults that shoot through walls, so you can’t hide behind walls.
-increase the hit points of guards on the roads, make them more resilient to risen, so they are truly useful instead now they are just pixels laying on the floor nobody cares about.
-put even more guards and scouts along the road for better protection.
-more escort missions, because they provide the fun factor to travelling through Orr and also give directions to newbies.
As a warrior you shouldn’t have any major trouble travellling through Orr, you have speed skills and weapons for runing, like sword, horn, etc.
In Orr you shouldn’t be fighting every mob you see, but only those that you must to accomplish either an escort event, rescue mission, or clearing the resource location.
Orr is designed to be dangerous and annoying and therefore it gives highest karma, gold, resources, armor, etc.
You have to loose some blood in the process for that.
In Orr you become a war veteran, that’s how they designed it.
No, you must be the first and the only one
If they decide to finally introduce Kodan in the game, I might finally choose a chick for a character, you know those ursan ladies are hot.
……of course it is. we wouldn’t be talking about it at 1.30 in the night if it wasn’t.
Well you play a chick, so other players wanted to see your character naked. It’s a silly game, but here you go.
The more people complain how hard is Orr, the more I like it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the many bugs and bugged events, like those trebuchets in Malchor’s leap event that shoot through walls, when will they fix that? Or the endlesley respawning trebuchets in the Temple of Lyssa, which is not doable without at least 20 people.
Orr has many issues and someday I hope they will fix them. But the concept idea is ok. It’s supposed to be hard and anoying, it’s level 80 warzone, you are supposed to learn to survive on your own without buddies who will rez you.
Orr makes your character more resilient, tougher and more self dependant. It teaches you, that you can’t just dance through the mobs, because they are too many and have too much cc abillities.
Once you survive Orr, and repeteadly go back to run with the pact force events, for me the focal point of the story of GW2 reveals. It gives you the percpective of the game as the designers have visioned it.
And anyway in Wvwvw combat is more lethal. Orr is kinder garden compared to WvWw , other players will down you faster than any mob of Risen ever could.
i don’t know, if you stay on the roads and carefully run around mobs without even aggroing them, you can travel anywhere you like in Orr.
Plus you should be doing pact escort events, they are designed to take you further and further in Orr.
For a warrior use stomp skill, in that way you just kick off any potential mob running after you. Horn and sword are also good.
Warriors have no problem running , heck even just walking in Orr.
And I would like to have more interesting and scary mobs too, but definitelly not so many as now.
Orr is also as a landscape on of the most interesting maps to observe in GW2.

I have Orrian GS, looks very special with a tentacle and water dripping effect.
Have you considered the Orr armor? rune of Melandru has got some nice condition removal effect on top of toughness.

Cool build, you might want to post it in the build thread.
Limit the mounts only to the paths. Once you leave the path, you can be targeted by any mob and you automatically dismount. Also mounts should be on cool downs.
And how aboout the mounts only being legendary?
How about mounts as endgame for the L80? You can’t argue they are skipping content, can you?
Maybe mounts as reward for the 100% map completion?
Anet just needs to copy paste the armor collection slots from the pvp personal storage to the pve storage.
