Things I hope to see:
-Legendary Precursor partial work (or promise of it being next month)
-Lodestone cost addressed [preferably using dungeon tokens as a form of acquiring]
-SEVERAL warrior bugs addressed
-Warrior Burst skills actually being useful (Yes I play warrior 99% of the time, I’m bias....)
- Previewing items in the TP
-Alternative means to acquire Ectoplasm Globs
just a few off the top of my head… We’ve been promised a HUGE content patch though- so it may just be content and not addressing various bugs or problems or features that are missing. Regardless they’ve stated this is what they’re considering a “Free Expansions worth of content.” -For their sake I hope they don’t let us down… regardless I’ll still enjoy the game and play it- others though tend to get antzy with those words :/
Edit:
Ya- Mounts are a NEVER- the game isn’t designed with the concept at all and fast travel is significantly better means of transportation (besides 99% of the time you can have a swiftness buff up)
I agree that GS’s burst should be similar of a leap but DEFIANTLY not give it stability… there is no real way to say it would give it. That is just asking for unreasonable buffs. The reason I can agree with it being a leap is due to the fact its one of the few skills that is single target for the GS and as it stands it does moderate damage while only giving a short fury buff (the power buff doesn’t work atm). Now- I think we need to define “leap”… by leap- I’m meaning making it nearly similar to guardian’s GS #2 (i think that is the one). Give it a leap range of 300 and done. 600 it gives the GS too much ‘reach’.
Now I should add- GS burst isnt the only burst in need of redesign… ALL of their bursts need reworking. I can’t think of any burst that is really worthy of being called a “burst”… Eviscerate comes rather close to being good but, it has lacking features that should be there for something a warrior should blow.

When it comes to leveling never worry about dying…. I leveled with a greatsword (to the point I never weapon swapped) and did just find taking on 4-6 mobs at a time of my level. I didn’t even get optimial gear, instead I threw on upgrades going “I think this is better”…. when it comes to dungeons though- you’ll learn very fast you need to learn defensive maneuvers and how to dodge. Whirlwind is both better dps than thousand blades as well as the greatswords ONLY defensive skill (you cant consider blade trail defensive even if you use the word kite- if your kiting on a warrior your doing something wrong). Now I said something very important, dps- not damage…. Greatsword defiantly is the go to damage bringer of the party at warrior’s disposal but, its important to know when and how to use that to your advantage as you don’t want to end up on the ground.
I Personally use:
Greatsword [Main] / Hammer [Switch] (Both with Signet of Fires)
20 V, IX
30 V, X, XII
0
0
20 V, VII
With Full Berserker gear using Ruby Orbs.
Healing Surge as my heal.
Frenzy, Endure Pain, Situational open slot
Signet of Rage as my elite.
Now- you may notice or you may not, I have 0 ‘tank stats’- it can get very dicey at times if I mess up, especially since at my level of fractals things can just about 2 shot you in my gear. I capitalize on the mobility of my two weapons. Its easy to do the most damage in a group when you run full nuke. Though its also easy to be that guy the party wants to kick if you run full nuke and end up on the ground every 2 seconds into the fight. My best advice depends upon your learning curve- what I did was I started steep and just kept going up, if I ran into a wall I broke it down headfirst. Skill in this game determines if you accomplish your task when you’re weak in an area.
I found going scout was the easiest to get the achievements- for the carrier stopper you more or less have to wait for them to grab it and ambush them on their ramp…. GL
So with the extra gift bag sent from tixx I got another set of 250 cogs…. problem is the original one gave me 200- Should I just delete these or was it intended to be this way for some secret sauce thing?
Window never appeared for me and still doesnt.
So Upon entering the airship (note it didn’t notify me that it recommended a group) I solo everything up to Toxx which is a 80 champion…. How am I suppose to be able to solo this thing? If the place was intended for a group why isnt there a warning about this? I was generally happy there was a solo dungeon in this event until I ran into this part.
….first time in- done it on the first run. Tried it a second time…. done. This puzzle is a joke. Seriously- you have enough time to even sit around and take it a little slow at the snowballs. I don’t see why people are having issues with this. The mad king was legit hard- this is…. baby walks. The loot is also meh- though it did give me a booster and roughly 60s worth of items…
Also keep in mind there are several places in Orr with 5-7 trees in a single spot that are ALWAYS there…. in a way its significantly easier to get trees because of this.
I have no idea but this instantly made me think of swarms upon swarms stalking each ANet employee and tons of tells in map chats about finding them….
So each patch I’m not really interested in if they buff or nerf our class- I’m just wondering how hard it is to fix some of the movement and positioning abilities…. its rather annoying rushing past someone or my favorite- charging someone and running in place unable to cancel it…. Thoughts?
anyone else see the video of the fractals being explained and played by some of the designers before release? They were forced to cheat using teleports (admin powers) just to complete it… what did they say? “With group coordination you should be able to do it” ….
I personally dont feel like having to ‘gank’ my own server…. What form of benefit other than making the person kitten mad at you do you get from doing this?
I feel this would create a situation where everyone wants to be just a pure heavy damage glass cannon build and use a large portion of aoe just to increase there loot or have a chance at it…
due to the lore- and method we’re suppose to obtain it I don’t really like it even though I’m shooting myself in the foot as I myself need shards- Honestly they should have some scaling or simply decrease the amount of people needed- the event itself does need changing.
I think the problem atm is the method they can be obtained- it has been metioned that with time it’ll be significantly easier to obtain. So just give it some time and it’ll be be the new exotic- something you may spend sometime to get but isnt impossible and in ways easy to get. While dungeon tier gear will be more for looks rather than stats or possibly just an avenue to have better than greens. Right now it is DEFINANTLY a negative impact but, being an older hardcore WoW Raider/Raid leader I like it or atleast can tolerate the grind. It has been mentioned though that change will happen and they’ll become much more accessable…. Lets not fight in a suggestion forum is the point I’m trying to get across though :P
When AQ was FINALLY unlocked there was a large event that was honestly random, choosen by the players that it happened. All it was though was the gates opening (a little cinematic event) it wasn’t really important at all and had no real reward minus the once in a life time event mount which Blizzard has admited was a poor design and several thousands of players were upset about but ignore that >.>… Now lets look at BC, random you had a gaint boss raid event spawn randomly outside of a major city that players were caught off guard by- this event repeated every so many hours and at every single city for roughly 2 days giving a extremely large majority of players time to partake, not only that but there was a small event as well you could partake for the week. In the event of Lichking’s release there was a week or two of world invasions where all players could partake of any level due to the large spread of content in the areas and everyone could gain something out of it.
Do you see a trend? Hopefully you do because the point I’m trying to stress is if there is a one time event where it is simply a cinematic or flavor of experiencing but, has no form of statistical value at all its fine to hold that, set a date and have run off for those able to make it. If you’re to provide a reward of any kind or some form of new drops or etc. allow it to have some form of time frame that any players could partake. This can be easily implimented and allow for several people to do. With events such as this also provide some time! Giving everyone simply a single day to do certain things is too far short and in some ways its very easy for some people to miss. This event fealt very rush and unprofessional as it lasted a whole (3 days?).
Now since I’ve stated the background and what you should do a final example may help- in the event of the ancient karka it should’ve been an event that triggered at the time you set. Then repeated roughly 2-3 hours after completion— The rewards given is a one time deal where the players given cannot take again but, should they choose they can do the event again (we saw this in the halloween event with the champion chests). This should last for maybe a day and a half. It allows your players to experience it and enjoy it while giving almost a 99% chance that anyone playing actively or currently on has a chance to partake.
On my closing statement, I am simply a 22 yr old that IS enjoying the game but fealt cheated with the method you took to impliment such an event in such a great game. While my studies progress in MMD I spend time playing GW2 and hope to enjoy it even more and look forward to your content you release. By no means has this event stopped my playing habits but, it has given me a very sour taste of the company and yes- I’ll remember this event for years to come. Though not in the way you want. I may talk about this event in a couple years to some new players but, it’ll be a scornful subject. I hope I can say that the company has improved in massive amounts since then though and it can be more of a “Look how significant of an improvement they have come- they’re really wanting to give us the best gameplay there is! They’re not settling for OK, they’re going for PERFECTION!” Oh- that and I apoligize about any and all spelling ,gramatical, punctuation, and etc. that this post has.
A Happy but, hurt-
Customer
Now this is of personal opinion but it has been put into practice through various means on WoW and Rift, and other games the like. I remember hearing/reading somewhere that one of the high ups in GW2 really enjoys memorable situations and having players go “Hey- you remember that time?!” with one time events. The problem you are currently facing and (in my opinion) you accidently caused upon yourselves is that you have angered a very large majority (including myself, so bias statement….) of your players by doing what you are currently having implimented. The method at which I mean is setting a time, date, and place for a one time- one go deal that happens once and thus far (from the two I have seen in my 53 days of play [at 400+ hours]) was a 5 second clip and a 2-5 hour (??) large event. The first had no significants, no real reward, and in my opinion was a great addition that you did. The second however you have made the graveous mistake.
What you implimented was a large event that had a significant reward (maybe it was just RNG but, hundreds of people have had great RNG in this case with it). Now, the players that were not able to attend due to the time at which your team has selected [stating it is when a large majority of activity is on which I can’t argue about] was unable to partake in the rewards as well as activity and missed out. This is a game and I don’t feel there should be a WoW raid time feel to it where “you make it or miss out on everything”. From a player perspective this was a very unfair implimentation. From a company perspective you can view it as your customers having a very unpleasant interaction from you and in most situations the reason most couldn’t make it was due to either work (which could imply paying customer buying gems) or other side of the world at graveyard hours. Of course that isn’t just the only two reasons possible but, having a negative impact could affect your profits earned from these players (this is simply my opinion so I have no hard facts here).
Now for the solution and my examples… As a long time gamer of WoW (no more) [Hopefully SOMEONE in your development community has played or you can look up some facts quick as I don’t wish to spend hours upon hours typing exactly what happened] I was there for AQ’s opening, The burning crusade’s launch, the lich king launch, cataclysm’s launch, and for Rift I was there for Greenscale’s release as well as the 2nd raid being released. In these situations though there was a ‘one time event’ that many players can attest to enjoying, remembering, and was a positive influence and shaped the community to being “Old timers telling stories of back in the day”. Why? The reason was the time and the method they were implimented. In all of the situations I listed most of the events lasted for roughly a week- some more. In every single method implimented that had some form of reward and some form of gain it gave every player a possibility to partake and enjoy in it.
In more detail lets look at the AQ event, there was a long run event that was similiar to what we had with the karka’s where there were rewards and we could do little things to get some benefit.

I want to go out on a limb and say—- no?
Hmmmm Orchi/Ancient nodes spawn there- otherwise, I don’t think theres much to do there at all- not really any decent event chains or farming locations and the mobs seem to hit harder than your average one I’ve noticed.
Having over 400 hours of play time now in little only 52 days I’m greatly disappointed that they would give such a HUGE reward chance to those that had the fortune to make the event. Its been said before- if you have a one-time event don’t make the rewards so kitten huge or you’ll make them memorable alright- infamous is the word.
Lodestones and Tier 6 mats are now the primary method of preventing “common” players from getting their legendaries. That and the 120 gold requirement. Personally if it wasn’t for the fact that I needed 120 gold I would be significantly closer… OH- How could I forget the kitten precursor?…
strange- looks like it has the same exact stats as http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quiver_of_Swift_Flight …Im presuming the 5% crit is infact 4% though. ….My question is how did you manage 250 powerful bloods lol
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended This shows all the back recipes… theres also an unkown recipes atm using mists, a Glob, Coin, 5 Mists (why its unkown) and some new tokens make something. We just dont know what?… As for the backs expect to spend some large amount of gold if your crafting it as it need 250 of a T6 mat.
Is it intended that they don’t have a slot? This may be simply the vendor not showing an empty slot though-
so without any reset either weekly or monthly i may has well either quit looking for a group for this dungeon which is making me loose content in a game im otherwise enjoying.
Uhm—- no? Thats like saying no new players or new characters play the game. EVENTUALLY you’ll find a group. Heck I start about 3 hours late and found a group now I just need to find a group at my level. Its significantly harder to find a group higher level than it is lower level.
You do know you can jump over the wall right..?
For the top: Middle of the wall next to where a wall spawns theres a 3x jump to get over. Head to your right (the way your facing when you get over) and all the way over will be an opening to your left which leads directly to the statues. If your good on your jumps you’ll make it with roughly 3-5 seconds to spare. As always start the wisp runs with the northern most runner. Even with these tips it takes WAY too kitten long to get it down for 3 people and its annoying.
Swamp…. No really- that fractural can be removed from the kitten game. On a serious note- Either Kitty Asura Cube area or the Volcano Stage…. I’ve done the collusus way too many times to enjoy it and when running it with new people it gets even more frustrating.
First off the amount of coordination needed is minimal. Just discuss for once what your doing instead of runing in like a maniac. In every run I’ve taken charge and in every run I have been successful. It gets hard sure but, thats what makes it fun. Jumping puzzles? You call these jumping puzzles? Madking’s clock tower was a puzzle. these are creative and well designed pathways to fit the environment. Lastly on the amount of time issue- a single fractural takes roughly 10-25 minutes per. Meaning it’ll take anywhere from around 35-75 minutes to complete a set of 3 fracturals which- tend to be a norm of some pug dungeons on story or explorable. Fracturals are luckily not “hand me loot” dungeons.
Ok- I’ll admit my rage subsides a little knowing that we have someone working on it and we now know the reason why its taking so fluffy kitten long to change. I really do hope this gets addressed before new years though- it would really be doggy if this goes on for a very long time.
The Colossus Fractal, if the Cultist Hammer gets stuck in the sky or lost with a disconnect, there is no way to proceed. It would be nice if there was some way to get a new hammer (at the beginning?).
this happened to use- just have everyone die and restart at a checkpoint itll appear nearby.
I was able to invite a friend and when he tried the code he says it is already in use. How can he log in when the code provided is faulty?
At the moment- Minus the precursor and the difficulty to farm Lodestones I would say they’re almost TOO easy. Then again I’m a very frequent player of GW2. All I want is them to fix the precursor issue (hey next patch apparently?!) and address the farming locations of lodestones/drop rate to be a little less brutal.
My guess: new precursor vendor NPC selling them weapons for 4000 or 5000 Achievement Points each… what do you guys think?
…I’d like to say I’m a dedicated player and I run around 2.5k achievement points- while this may sound nice your limited to exactly how many acheivements there are until you simply salvage for eternity on end… though it would be interesting if they add some form of achievement point vendor :P
…Are you not able to equip or unequip your weapons?!
Too early to scream the end of the world imo…. With infusions though being brought it I really do have to wonder though- If they are in fact better than a level 80 exotic then doesnt that “force” the players to do the one dungeon to stay on a competitive edge? Being a whole 2-3 months that the game has been out I feel it would be too early to simply up the gear tiers with “better stats”.
Honestly this is something I thought about and threw around but that was maybe me being spoiled by WoW’s hearthstones and Portals… Looking back at it I’ve noticed it takes money to waypoint when you’re dead- Anyone have any idea what happens if you have no money and die? Thats off topic though….
As far as home waypoints go you can always get to Lions Arch for free and in that sense any home capital for free… The issue 80s have is getting to Orr and Frostgorge without pay. You can’t- if you were to introduce “home waypoints” it would simply be a cheap way of implimenting a free ride to Orr and waypoints would rarely get used in general (or as often). Now something I wasn’t too pleased to learn is even after setting up Fort Trinity in your personal story an asura gate doesn’t open up for you to get to LA- I was really expecting this to happen.
I keep getting off topic I guess… Though something that needs to be touched upon is:
How would you impliment it without giving the waypoint system a large shaft as Anet wants players to spend money to get around to lessen the amount of money in the economy.
1. In many situations you dodge it makes sense you dont take the damage, a block is something less- sure of- as having a giant smasher crash down on you I dont think blocking helps. Though it is a neat idea, in a way though its a form of taste, as in the Arms? I think theres a ‘duck and weave’ trait that allows you to benefit from this.
2. They already provide a knockdown stun.
3. Thieves get that special as they have select weapons they can pick. Warriors instead are allowed the largest selection of weapons.
4. Burst skills are weak and useless right about now… They definantly need change. In this way? I’m not sure.
5. I personally hate the fact you can pick up a banner and use it as a weapon- none of them offer good abilities and they tend to be clunky. I would rather have it just be something passive like an aura they give off. Strap it to your back maybe. Almost like a signet where they have an additional effect but maybe their aura doesn’t go away on use.
6. Warrior elite skills are plain kitten right now. Its agree-able almost ANYWHERE that they are just plain weak. Signet of Rage is barely passable and its on par with some other classes utility skills.
7. Theres been talk about this elsewhere on the forums already- Its… a strange concept. Though I would maybe play it.
8. I have no idea why they can’t just make certain weapons “also underwater” usable. Then again- underwater is so rarely played and taken into consideration. I tend to avoid it like a plague myself.
All of the skins on the hammers seem to be very small… most are almost the size of my Charr’s hand. Anyone know of a good decent sized hammer skin? The only one I have noticed to have a decent skin is Juggernaut which is legendary O.o…
It is entirely possible they were added and then later removed from the game. Simply put a ‘dead’ item or a ghost item. They don’t drop and they don’t exsist at this time. Maybe we’ll see them added in the future but, as I have yet to see them on the AH I can only presume they haven’t ever dropped… or the lucky person that got it was a genius and knew exactly what to do with it.
The arena section of the eternal battlegrounds is impossible to get through should a player decide to camp it. please re-design it so its at least possible to get through the obsticles thrown at you. This isn’t a test of skill issue, its an issue with how they can rain death from above and you can’t even make a single jump.
I heard something from a guy who get his precursor so i decided to try it : throwing 4 exotic with superior sigil on rage on it.
Strangely, on 2 tries I got 2 exotics with another superior sigil of rage on it. Maybe it’s the way… Anyway, sigils seems to have on influence on the output.
not sure if trolling or legitamently found some secret?… Really though they need to at least change how you acquire the precursor, we deal with enough RNG from mystic clovers. Why can’t think be like WoW legendaries- you get to do a quest that rewards it….
I personally use a Greatsword and a Hammer as “defense”… Mainly just go to town with your charge into a frenzy 2h blade, throw your greatsword, whirl through them- then switch, F1 behind them so your greatsword goes through them, weaken them, smash them, whirl, switch… Dodging in between keeps you alive and the 5 seconds of invulnerability does wonders. The only problem you run into is when a mob is purely “death to melee”… I learned this in Story mode Sorrows Embrace -.-
Just always remember…

I do believe its reset as Ive rotated from doing it around 9pm (roughly right after reset) and 2 am at times. If it was 24 hours I wouldnt be able to do it at 2 am then 9 pm the same day.
I’m aware they reset daily which I presume is when daily achievements reset but, are you able to do a puzzle on one character and then do the same puzzle in the same day again and get rewards again? To be straight with you I’m wondering if its possible to farm the WvW eternal battle grounds dungeon.
For the legendary crafters it would limit anyone to crafting 2 EVER. In a way right now you have infinite crafts possible if you really want to delete a 100% map completed character.
By that logic then exploration should be removed from the legendary because i dislike exploring. There should be a separate set of legendaries for exploration.
I agree with the monthly commend, but i think that the legendary should be obtained from experiencing multiple aspects of the game. I believe pvp should remain one of those aspects.
On that note we have an experience with RNG from the Mystic clovers- remove the precursor
Whoa- my guild master actually was talking about this last night. Defiantly a great idea as it simply is nice to know where your buddies are at.
Not same issue but for example just remember Craig Smallwood’s case.
