for 300-400 I’d use Arzo’s link (gw2crafts.net) because the investment isn’t too considerable.
For 400-500 I prefer pulling out gw2spidey -> go to Crafting -> Tailor -> fill the Rating fields 400-400 -> check “hide recipies that require unlock” -> Pick 12-20 (12 if you refine materials needed for the armor to get 450-475, 20 if you don’t) recipe’s from the top of the list (higher in the list, the more profit, avoid big starter investments such as Sentinels if preferred) -> Check their pages for materials -> place buy-orders -> pick up your materials and start crafting -> wait a few days/weeks for the items to sell to make all your gold back.
Just made yourself a tiny profit getting your craft from 400 to 500 instead of a ~50g loss it’s currently at on gw2crafts.net (ps: I find it an amazing website, but I prefer doing the 10-30 minutes of research and highly recommend it unless you can make 50g+ in the time it costs you to do the research.) After leveling all crafts it cost me ~20g total, which isn’t too bad at all (the armorcrafts are capable of making a profit, weaponcrafts usually make a little loss.)
If you search the exact item on gw2spidey (e.g. Zojja’s Doublet) you can see the accurate price. Currently the chest and leggings are ~100g, where-as the other pieces are 60-70g. This does not include Karma, Skillpoints, Bloodstone, Dragonite and Emphereal Fragments as they don’t carry a Trading Post Price.
Attachment is an example of the spidey-page that should pop-up. It changes often since gw2spidey is connected to the ingame tradingpost.
thank you and everyone else who replied! i find this method to be really interesting, most of the profit-making crafts requires fairly big investment. maybe itll be a good idea for me to stick with the crafts that generate the least loss instead of a 1gold plus profit, as i dont see the reasoning behind the demand for those most profitable crafts, they just seem like your ordinary PTV armor at best
from 300 to 500?
im following this guide currently
http://pwniversity.com/gw2/crafting/tailoring-guide#tailoring-level-100-200
but it is getting fairly expensive at 300, i think i burned about 40 gold on the first 300 levels. from experience, how much did it cost you guys to get tailoring to 500? and are there more economic ways to do it (buying all mats from the TH)?
lastly, how much does it cost to craft a full set of ascended soldier’s light armor?
have anyone tried this? turning auto targetting off and then just aim your attacks without targeting the enemy. it feels great! almost like an action RPG, all it needs is a free mouse and a crosshair
instantly resurrect nearby dead (dead dead) allies. 240 sec cool down.
i think this skill will give necro an edge in pve, being the only profession to save a full wipe. but probably not gonna work in pvp.
tankiness, good damage if geared right (not nearly as good as war or ele, but better than bow hunter and lone mesmer in general)
slows the group down in dungeons/fractals due to lack of group synergy, may be looked down upon by other group member or randomly kicked after wipe (most people are tolerant, since i did manage to get the fractal capacitor with my mm necro)
great for world boss farming however due to tankiness and passive playstyle, doesnt require alot of inputs. recommend minions for world boss farming for more passive damage and tankiness.
I used to have “dumb fire” thrown at me a good bit before it was nerfed. When I wasn’t running it. And sometimes when I wasn’t even playing condi.
Naturally. They don’t know what’s killing them. Ignorance leads to fear, fear leads to anger, etc.
anger fuels ignorance and fear also leads to more fears. I love fear.
If you’re running fractals, you should be using neither staff nor greatsword. For any PvE content that isn’t open world, you need to be using a full damage build sword/focus sword/sword.
Also shatter is a horrible choice for PvE. Do not use it.
yea thats what i read on the forum so far, but im not sure about 2 sets of swords? they share the same cd and im missing the flexibility of a ranged weapon. staff gives ethereal field with boons and 2 emergency buttons so i thought it might be of better uses?
thank you for your input, i got staff and immediately regretted it
i know this discussion has been talked to death, but for a fractal mesmer/ wvw mesmer, whats the best option? i play shatter in both situations
thx ppl! i think im sticking w mesmer. any build specificly tailored for ascalonian catacombs?
so my main is a necro. despite of sporting full ascended zerker and a ds build i keep getting kicked from arah parties. i have a lvl 30 warrior but didnt enjoy playing it alot. so im thinking.. is it a good idea to make a mesmer for dungeons?
i know mesmers are wanted in fractals, but is it the same for arah? do you guys ever get kicked because ure a mesmer? should i stick with my zerckers gears once ascended goes account bind, or should i get something abit tankier? all inputs are appreciated!
On an aside, it’s always nice to plunk Flesh Wurm down between you and Old Tom in the harpy fractal. He makes a great shield against the spin attack.
forgot to mention, people seem to forget that we got 2 teleports, spectral walk and wurm. so we can solo the harpy electrical escalator switch and the inquest lab heat room, which can come in quite handy at times.
I use “fine” to say that it is serviceable.
MM necro since launch here. soloed mai and inquest lab boss with MM build on fractal 24, fractal level 31.
MM has really good single target damage, almost always last man standing, a pain when stacking, will always be picked on by that one thief in the party (not sure why still) and become unusable since minion AI was bugged in a recent patch.
before the AI improvement patch, minions were not very responsive, flesh golem will randomly go aggro, but all minions will almost always attack targets that attacks the necro. all minion can be commanded to attack by using shadow fiends haunt skill.
after the patch that improved AI, all minions will attack necro’s target after the first auto attack.
after the recent patch that nerfed necro, minions will stop attacking upon entering deathshroud. only flesh golem responds to mob that attacks necro. bone minions almost never attack, and minion will not attack target when haunt is used.
edit: I never paid attention but I didnt notice my minions dying all that much at all in fractals, so i assume they scale with your agony resistance?

This is probably the closest to lara croft you can get.

other cosplays:

thx! those are so cool!
hey ppl. i want to make a dual pistol thief that looks as much like lara croft as possible. anyone got any idea for armor?
nevermind. apparently the tooltip is showing wrong info.
(edited by Regenerator.7326)
i just noticed that flesh golem has a 50% damage drop when i remove all my gears (soldier +zerker), from 151 per hit to 75 per hit on a lvl 48 map. i checked this with other morions and the damage increase apply as well. is this something thats there for a while? and no i dont have vampiric master trainted at the momemt
i find from experience that the worst player make the most noise. ive never had any problem with 20+ fractal. its the ones >10 that asks for gear check, and only takes warrior mesmer and guardians.
thx guys. i guess its wise for me to hold on to my relics for now
s it appears that both sets are really viable.
hmmmm
anyone care to enlighte me on the “big changes” thats coming along?
hi, im running a standard full MM build with a full set of exotic soldier armor, zerker dagger&focus/staff and ascended zerker accessory, ring and amulet, with scholar runes on my armor. im trying to get the fractals back piece. what stat should it be to maximize my survivability while still be able to tank a few hit? currently im moderately tanky, usually the last to die in my fractal party, but i feel like i can always use more tankiness since i dont have many options for healing. vampiric master is good, but its not enough to make an emergency button. at the same time, i can also use more damage. but would going for a zerker back hinder my survivability? im using exotic soldier back atm. how much do crit help for dagger and staff attack anyway?
also, should i get travelers rune when i get my ascended armor? i thinkk that 25% speed is mandatory for me. if i dont run scholar ill have to switch out a minion for signet of the locus. so is it better to stick with scholar or should i change to traveler?
yea but unfortunately im sure they also learned that fractals is long and frustrating (we ran into the inquest lab) and probably not worth the trouble…
well unless they found out about the shiny back piece that is
either way, im sure the devs added this specific feature for a reason. otherwise it shouldve been changed or removed a long time ago
again im really sorry if i sound slightly bitter, but this experience is very discouraging
(edited by Regenerator.7326)
hmm i guess the way to bypass it is to only play with guildie or to host the dungeon yourself. i think you can exploit this mechanism if youre the host. go afk and no one can do anything but to either fight on for you or leave.
i spent 3 hours coaching and explaining every fractals to a group of newbies that i stumbled upon at frac lvl 7, and soloed 2/3 bosses for them. then the host got tired after we wiped at the last boss and decided to leave the group..
its incredibly frustrating, and im sure everyone had similar experiences.
is there any benefits to this mechanism? why would devs go out of their way to design such a system? is there some kind of glitch that can be abused if no one gets kicked after the hsot left?
im sorry if i sound slightly upset, but i just need to let this out somewhere.
been playing bell choir alot since wintersday launch, no luck so far (tho i got alot of essence of luck) in getting the choir bell just want to see how many people have already got it from either present of bellchoir to help keep my head up
omg didnt know about the whole glory thing. thx ppl!
what is the fastest way to get gifts? it used to be choir for me, but then i got better at jumping puzzle. then i tried out toypocalypse and im not sure anymore. what do you think is the fastest way to get gifts?
Will a gem item that lets the character use all teleports free of charge breaks the economy? personally i would pay 2k gems for it if it exists.
My bad for not looking up the mini’s appearance beforehand. but i think i just wasted 500 gems and 1000 candy corn pieces into this hardly impressive mini :_;
thoughts?
That’s interesting, because the last three patches were my favourites since the Bazaar.
Can’t please everybody, I guess.
exactly. guess some body just doesnt have the guts of a true norn to handle some challenge!
@regenerator
there is more just look on the T3 Norn female heavy cultural legins. With that half off bu-tt is showingbut seriously. When you have not seen TERA online, you dont know what skimpy is
I think I might have been sarcastic
Only way to kill entire human race – track down every single person. If few survive – in some time they’re grow strength back and repopulate entire world like always they do.
Well, I’m sure you can knock the numbers down to a point where inbreeding would do the rest of the job.
Then again, I was born in West Virginia, so who knows how much the pool would have to shrink to go bad.
i think its 200 minimum for human to avoid inbreed penalties according to one of my lectures, statistically speaking. dont have the source tho
I totally agree with op. many of Norn female armor is showing a lot of arms. How could a modest lady in the real world ever show her arms off like that? I certainly havnt run into any lady in real world that dress in such skimpy manners. I mean look at her!
what is more outrageous is that, some of the norn female armor takes it to the next extreme, showing off their shoulders and other more shameful body parts! especially a few particular light armor sets that i feel too ashamed to link. while i do understand that a lot of people do like skimpy dresses and it certainly has its aesthetic appeal, but this game is NOT all about how your character look. Yes, i could choose to not wear the skimpy armors, but is that really a choice when you go to LA and all you see is female norns, standing tall and proud, ignorant of their own shame with their naked arm and shoulders flailing around!!
this again, brings out the real issue with our society, our obsession with physical beauty and not who we are inside. the overly skimpy armor in this game is a perfect example of that.
I’ve linked a modest looking armor in the attachment. Although she is still showing her facial features and her curves, it is at least a set of armor that preserve a norn lady’s virtue and can actually serve as a protection tool in a real fight, and i think everyone should follow these dress codes.
sylvari run awkwardly and tend to look bad in most armor (male). they are perfect, however, as the highlight of a salad dish, or to be used to start a campfire, depends on the individual i guess.
my 80 necro is running a full minion build for pve (20,0,30,20,0) with twin daggers and staff, running full soldiers armor and zerker weapon/ accessories. my minions will help me quickly cut down anything especially with poison nova trait. the only minions that die regularly is the jagged horror and the bone minions, i just sacrifice the latter for a very high burst damage on 15 seconds cool down. the build is practical in wvw vs noob only. zerg and any experienced player can easily out maneuvre you. and yes, it is practical for dungeon. minions will die fairly often, but the poison nova and short cool down from trait make up for it, so you will have at least 2 minions up constantly during any fight.
so its still working? thx ppl
my main is in order of whispers but i really want that vigil chest piece. is it still possible to transfer the skin using transmutation stone?
op, you are just too pity for a true norn! we norns stand tall and proud and we will crush any weaklings that dare stand in our way! weakness makes me sick.
hi all. so im dead tired of the dresses and decided to make my male human necromancer to look as modern as possible. so far ive only found the right pants, the ascalonian exotic cloth pants, one of the very few none-dressy pants in game. however, i have alot of trouble finding the right shoes and shirt. Ideally i want the shirt to look like a T-shirt or a tank-top, but a sweater will do if none other options are available. any ideas?
thanks guys! your response have been reaally informative….i think i will eventually collect both soldier and zerker set, but for the moment being, i think ill do abit of a mush-up between the two, maybe soldier armor/zerker accessory.
as for the twin dagger, it is more for flavor than anything. And no, WvW is not my main thing, i use my necro generally for dungeons, dailies, living world and resource collecting/mapping, so i need the 25% speed boost for quickening thirst….so….yea, i will keep a set of axe/focus in my bank after ive got my daggers
thanks again people!
@Sheobix: just to clarify, by PPC i meant power precision critical (if i remebered those stats correctly) . my playstyle generally include a chain of stun/debuff mixed with heavy dagger damage/putrid explosion and death nova, which allows me to quickly cut most trashmob and a large portion of wvw player down. and from what you’re saying, using gear without vitality and toughness tend to make your character very weak, so I guess ill go with your advice and use Power/ Toughness/Vitality gear. thank you!
and about the rabid and carrion gear…people in wvw dont usually expect a twin dagger necro, and seem to have no idea how to deal with me. more over, Im not personally into ranged weapons, and I only use staff when i have to, because everything seem to die ten times quicker with twin daggers, which makes up about 50% of my total damage (the other 50% being minions). In this context, power, even though it does not affect my minions, increases my dagger damage, and therefore theoretically effectively increase my overall dps? please let me know if I sound like I have no idea what I’m talking about
hi. im trying to make a twin dagger/staff Minionmancer with high burst damage, but I also want my necro to be able to take a few hits in dungeon and wvw. so, can i get away using a full set of glass cannon PPC gear and toughness from my trait line? if not, how much dps am i losing by using PTV gear and how much tankier does those gear make me? Thanks!
thank you all for the replies! I think i have my eyes set on the Grenth karma armor. and just to clarify, wvw is a just for fun kinda thing for me, and i have a condition build set up for organized pvp. thanks all!
Hi all. I recently reached level 80 with my MM necro.
my build looks like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAoYWjEat6la2a07JCpHRjaTbSx30Gki3LNA-e
my build is fairly standard, except I have the quickening thirst trait instead of the vampiric master trait due to its movement speed boost. for the same reason, i use twin daggers and staff for quick killing speed and high movement speed.
I generally use this necro for resource gathering, dungeoning and some times wvw. I want my necro to be really mobile, somewhat tanky and most importantly, have high burst damage. with my corrent rare 70s power-precision armor set i have little difficulty surviving Cof and Fractal 2, but I dont think I have enough burst damage to quickly finish off trash mob or to cut someone down in wvw. therefore, is it a good idea to go full power-precision?
all answers appreciated!
Erm, kinda. Since the flute is tuned to E Major, you are playing black keys, but those black keys are in the key signature. There is no means of producing accidentals on any instruments ingame.
As far as harmony goes, what do you mean? No one instrument can play multiple sounds simultaneously, but that’s not to say you can’t put a band together.
E major.. my ears are failing me XD and ive heard that choir bell can play harmony? as in playing two notes at once. well, thats too bad
I’m not sure because I don’t have one yet and I’m terrible at playing music. I can barely play music on my iPod
Anyway it seems there are some nice people in this thread that might be able to help you out.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Flute-Music-Sheet-Compilation
thank you, i reposted my question
is there a way to play the black keys on flute? for example c sharp?
anyway, heres The Rain Of Castamere. h = high octave, you only need two octaves.
38— 37— 38- h2-7- 3 h2-8-7-6-7—
5h3— 5h2— 5h3-h4-h2— 5-h4-h3-h2-8-7 repeat
also as an add on to the last question, is there any instrument that allows harmony?
